End the Attack on Civility and Freedom

Posted by Tina

“For the times they are a changing,” so sang Bob Dylan, the popular folk singer of the sixties generation:

Come mothers and fathers throughout the land
And don’t criticize what you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters, beyond your command

Your old road is rapidly agin’
So get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times, they are a-changin’

The song was meant to strengthen the resolve of that part of a generation that couldn’t wait to replace those over thirty, the “establishment,” which they saw as rigid and evil. They considered themselves much wiser than their elders even though they had lived a charmed existence and faced very little hardship compared to their parents who had fought and won WWII and lived through a Great Depression. This was an arrogant lot, unkempt and inexperienced. The art of activism and protest was their only interest, other than drugs: anti-war, anti-nuke, anti-decency, anti-convention. They demanded the right to do whatever they wanted bucking authority at every turn. Astoundingly, they created havoc under a banner of peace and free speech. As our leaders today they work to control speech, suppress ideas, and incite agitation and violence. This would seem to be at odds with their stated values unless you realize that the ideology that drives this thinking derives from the likes of Marx, Lenin, Mao, Mussolini, Che and other dictators who controlled with an iron fist. This is the generation that followed the communist command to infiltrate and destroy America from within. Over decades their influence grew across every field of endeavor. If Barack Obama was “the one” to push this movement over the one yard line, Hillary Clinton will be the one to drive it into the end zone.

The Greatest Generation stood together behind America. They valued individual freedom and opportunity. They fought together, despite differences of opinion, to preserve freedom and defeat tyranny. They valued the Constitution because they knew that it protects each citizen against the tyranny of government.

trumpMillennials take note. You are the generation with the potential to wrench this nation from it’s radical left detractors. Some say the American Dream is about money and acquiring wealth. Certainly in a free America it’s possible to become very wealthy. But the American Dream is about so much more than money. It’s about living in conditions that offer choices with limited restrictions…conditions that make the individual the author of his own story. Conditions that support variety of thought and creative innovation. Living this way demands discipline and a sense of responsibility to ourselves, our families, our communities, and our nation. It also breeds civility and tolerance…real tolerance, not the fake political correctness that permeates in our culture today. This is a time for choosing between a vast controlling body of elite politicians and their corporate cohorts and individual freedom.

Today there is destructive division in our population. The division reflects the fact that not everyone in the boomer generation follows the thinking of those who work to destroy our country. From healthcare, to the economy and job opportunity, to tolerance and peace in the world, to the price ofa college education and a good meal, Bob Dylan’s lyrics apply today:

Come mothers and fathers throughout the land
And don’t criticize what you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters, beyond your command

Your old road is rapidly agin’
So get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times, they are a-changin’

Our nation and our families have been weakened by the Marxist ideas and policies of the sixties radicals. That “old road” is rapidly aging. We can send a loud and clear message to them this election…the current “establishment” is the old road and it’s been a destructive road for America and the world. Vote Donald Trump and give America, and yourselves, a fighting chance at decency and opportunity and good jobs, affordable healthcare, a secure border, and education that meets our students’ needs rather than the controlling desires of radicals and special interest groups.

Back when I would regularly ask people, “What is so great about Bob Dylan?” Invariably the answer was “Because he’s Bob Dylan.”

Dewey, nerds brought us the modern computer…started in a garage. As always you are a mindless reactionary swimming in the cesspool of a programmed mind. Had you actually READ what I wrote, you could have saved yourself a lot of time and embarrassment. Please note the highlighted parts as I repeat:

I have never said Trump was the “best” in any category.

It remains that he is the ONLY candidate that can win who represents a shift away from the policies of “that part” of MY generation that fell in love with Marx when Dylan was cool.

It is “that part” of MY generation that is ruining the country I love. If they want to live like serfs they should move to Europe where the socialism they love replaced the monarchy.

Your other insults aren’t worth my time. Suffice it to say you don’t know who I am or what you’re talking about.

There are a couple of interesting books out about the influence one generations has on others. These two explains the pattern and have the research to back it up for centuries. Interesting summer, or I should say now winter reading on rainy days.

    Pendulum:
“Roy H. Williams and Michael R. Drew discovered that there are two 40 year generational patterns. What people value shifts every 40 years, even how we define success changes. Just like a Pendulum (hence the name of the book & the program). The energies of a duality drive the Pendulum of public opinion. On one side is “Me,” the individual—unique, special, and possessing unlimited potential. On the other side is “We”—the group, the team, the tribe, the collective.
“Me” and “We” are the equal-but-opposite attractions that pull society’s Pendulum one way, then the other. Think of the Pendulum as the forty-year heartbeat of society, systolic and diastolic. Contract and the Pendulum swings upward, relax and the Pendulum swings down again.

If you could learn from the past to predict what people value in the future, what would that do for you?”

    The Fourth Turning:
“Fourth turnings are characterized by a growing demand for social order, yet supply of it remains weak. The emergence of the surveillance state, a perpetual war machine, increased intervention in the markets by the central planners, greater government control of critical systems like health care and the Internet — all of these are classic signs that we are well into a fourth turning now:

In the fourth turning, the supply of order is still absent that the demand for order grows. So we now have a demand for order and no supply. That creates the unusual dynamics of a fourth turning — kind of like we had in the 1930’s. People suddenly feel that no one is in control and that enormous events are overtaking their society which no one of leadership age has any idea how to confront or how to manage. And it goes without saying today we look up to Gen Xers and Boomers and we see leaders who couldn’t organize their way out of a shoe box. I live in the Washington DC area and the government and Congress literally does nothing. All they do is argue and fight and nothing gets done in this city. It’s amazing, and a great testament to the power of institutional inertia that things keep moving forward in some manner. There is this great unsettled feeling we have that there is a rudderless ship that we’re on where no one knows where it is going. We see dangers that we seem paralyzed and unable to respond to.”

    Which brings us to….

The Amish In America Commit Their Vote To Donald Trump; Mathematically Guaranteeing Him A Presidential Victory:

“COLUMBUS, OH (AP) — History was made today in Columbus, Ohio when more than 3 million Amish poured into the city to see the American Amish Brotherhood (AAB), an organization which acts as an informal governing body for the Amish community, endorse Donald Trump for president. That number represents a significant portion of the total Amish population, which the United States Census Bureau says numbers more than 20 million men and women nationwide all pledging their vote to Trump for President. With the full force of the Amish community behind him, Donald Trump is now mathematically guaranteed to win the presidency in November.”

“Over the past eight years, the Democratic Party has launched a systematic assault on biblical virtues,” said AAB chairman Menno Simons. “We have seen more and more Christians being persecuted for their faith; we have seen the state defile the institution of marriage. Now, they want to put a woman in the nation’s highest leadership role in direct violation of 1 Timothy 2:12. We need to stop this assault and take a stand for biblical principles. Donald Trump has shown in both action and deed that he is committed to restoring this country to the Lord’s way.”

According to statistician Nate Silver of the website fivethirtyeight.com, there are no possible scenarios in which Hillary Clinton can win with Donald Trump carrying the Amish vote.

“The Amish have their highest numbers in perennial swing states like Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and Iowa,” Silver noted. “They also have strong numbers in reliably Democratic states like Michigan, Illinois, and New York, meaning that Hillary will lose those states as well. There is also a sizeable community in Florida which, while not as large as it is in the Midwest, is still large enough to turn Florida for Trump. Over the next two weeks, you can expect Hillary to enter into a state of freefall in all of my predictive models.”

    • Billy says:

Peggy, you have been scammed. ABCnews.com.co is a fake website designed to trick people into believing it represents ABC News. Look at the other headlines there: “Obama Signs Executive Order Banning Pledge of Allegiance in Schools Nationwide.” “Donald Trump Tweets Image of His Penis.”

The story should have set off your BS detector; the Amish rarely vote, and have never swayed an election.

      • Peggy says:

Hey Chris, the article may be a hoax, but given Hillary’s a Bill’s reputation they may vote, just like so many of us will, to keep them out of the WH again and her out of the Oval Office.

Yes, I fell for the hoax, but after reading some other articles it turns out to have some truth to it.

Amish for Trump: How a brash billionaire appeals to modest country voters

“Although modesty is a central component of Amish life, many will vote for the brash Republican over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. It’s not Clinton’s ties to Wall Street or hawkish record that the Amish reject, it’s her gender.

“No Amish is going to vote for Hillary,” a Pennsylvania Amish man told CBC. “No one wants a woman president. … What does Bill think about his wife running for president?”

While Clinton’s gender is enough to turn the Amish to Trump, his vanity, divorces and bankruptcies appear to be okay, although the Amish community’s shunning of modern devices including the internet, television and radio could mean they are unaware of these aspects of his personality.”

        Will Amish Vote For Trump?:

“What’s the thinking behind the get-out-the-Amish-vote effort?

        From amishpac.com:
When Amish vote, they vote for individual rights, personal responsibility, less government, lower taxes, and to protect their right to bear arms.

The objective of Amish PAC’s Plain Voter Project is to drive up Amish voter registration and turnout.
Increasing Amish turnout by even 5% in 2016 could be the difference between a Republican president and Hillary Clinton.”

        • Libby says:

“Yes, I fell for the hoax, but after reading some other articles it turns out to have some truth to it.”

No. There is no truth to it … and doesn’t it bother you at all … how many times you’ve been snookered? Easily half a dozen times in the last two years. That’s kind of a lot. Should someone that gullible be voting?

I suppose so. But enough someones that gullible will kill this republic.

          • Tina says:

Too late Libby…you and your corrupt lying party have it just about wrapped up!

And given your MO is continuous lying, cheating, and deception…a gullible factor is of little importance.

  6. Libby says:

“It remains that he is the ONLY candidate that can win who represents a shift ….”

Tina, Eighteen months ago, he was a Democrat. You have no idea what he represents, although, on the evidence, I’d say he represents whatever pops into his pea brain at any particular moment.

    • Tina says:

Democrat or republican he remains the “ONLY candidate that can win who represents a shift ….”

In particular a shift away from the corrupt radical machine that has piloted our ship nearly off the cliffs while enriching themselves and their corporate friends.

Snarky comments about brains convince no one.

  7. Tina says:

Apparently one of the old sixties establishment died last weekend. Those who would like to know more about the thinking that runs rampant in the radical leadership of the Democrat Party will learn from reading Ron Radosh in his article, “The Truth About the Late Tom Hayden—Whitewashed by the MSM” :

It was Hayden who made the phrase “participatory democracy” popular, by which he and the original author of the phrase, philosopher Arnold Kaufman, meant that individuals should have decision-making power in all decisions that affect their lives. A new politics, Hayden believed, would lead to “common participation” and put an end to apathy and the meaningless, corrupt politics of the mainstream political parties.

The subtle shift from individual participation to “common participation” is masked by the deceptively positive message, “…put an end to apathy and the meaningless, corrupt politics.” The message sounds good until you realize the goal is to end individual thought and replace it with group think and single party rule.
