A Classic Example of Fake News (by the New York Post)

by Jack

President Trump may mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up illegal immigrants” Washington Post The article starts out and it was run long after the White House said they have no intentions of using the National Guard to ICE. In fact the President said not only are they NOT considering it, but they would never consider it! Trump went on to say he has never even seen the alleged report!!! Good lord, our media….what a bunch of liars and buffoons. Despite the story being declared false, that did not stop any number of online and hard copy media types from reporting this inflammatory story.

Wow, (double wow) this deliberate “S” stirring would never have been done under their beloved Obama. You know that’s true. But, if the fake news can in any way damage Trump it’s front page. Look below, check this big lie out and note that when you read into article they EVEN acknowledge Trump’s denial, but they keep right on talking about it as if it were the real deal! “President Trump may mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up illegal immigrants!” NO HE WON’T! IT’S A FREAKING LIE AND THERE IS NO [MAY] ABOUT IT!

So here is how it opens and you judge for yourself if this is not deliberate libel: “President Trump may mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up illegal immigrants, according to a new report — though the White House immediately called it “false.”

The Associated Press said it obtained a draft memo that outlines a Trump administration proposal under consideration to mobilize troops in 11 states to round up unauthorized immigrants.

According to the wire service, the 11-page document calls for the unprecedented militarization of immigration enforcement as far north as Portland, Oregon, and as far east as New Orleans, Louisiana…..”

Actually, this is a case of yellow journalism. There is an iota of truth to it (a draft memo did exist) but the rest is pure, unadulterated raw sewage. I guess the 21st century synonym for yellow journalism is now “fake news.” Both work for me, both describe the ethical horror mainstream journalism is and has long been.

The amazing thing is that none of these people are embarrassed or contrite about prevarication they do. The job of journalism is to be truthful and accurate, not lie and exaggerate like politicians and activists. They must think themselves activists and politicians and any semblance of truth when it does not fit their narrative be damned. Theirs is a crusade.

When Brian Williams was fired over his helicopter lie, all he did was make excuses and hem and haw. What a damn juvenile posing as an adult. This bad behavior in journalism is epidemic. William Randolph Hearst must be jumping up and down with glee in hell.

When Brian Williams chastised Trump for being untruthful, I just had to laugh. What a maroon. Williams may have effectively retired from journalism when he joined MSNBC, but he will never retire from being a blatantly hypocritical jerk.

There can be no doubt about it, the vast majority of journalists are angry left wing activists, Democrat party flunkies and toadies and they are at war with Trump, Republicans and conservatives. I hope they enjoy destroying themselves and every shred of any credibility they may have ever had. I don’t see it changing, the arrogance and condescension in the professional left-wing MSN chattering class is a thick as tule fog.

  2. Dewster says:

    LOL

This is exactly how all MSM works, including Fox, MSNBC, CNN ect ect.

To be clear there is such a document but the fearmongering style is exactly how they lead the public. I caught it right away.

The White House was immediately asked to confirm by other media outlets and it was immediately said White House Denies this.

When you do not have a Balanced Timeline then you can be misled. Twitter was responsible for the wildfire and also the immediate halt need to vet this.

The AP who was irresponsible with their headlines did provide the doc.
but what you can see here is how they use headlines to spin.

Here is the doc with the proper Headline:

Trump considered Nat Guard for immigration roundups

    http://interactives.ap.org/2017/nat-guard-order/?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=AP_Interactive

All Mainstream media Outlets are PR Firms for their sponsors and Political Parties.

Also Russia did not change our election but the CIA is interfering in the French Elections and did so in 2012 as well.

The big question is what is this really about?

If we are going to deport someone they should be processed as quickly as possible and sent back. Not held in Profit detention centers where some corporation and/Or banks make a profit at the taxpayers expense.

That is the real issue. Why are we really rounding up people and how long will taxpayers pay?

It is time to remove the quotas promised by congress to these profit institutions.

Both Dems and Reps are responsible for that.

  3. Dewster says:

We would be better served to see what this costs taxpayers and how to streamline the process. Last I saw we pay $100. per day per detainee. but I am sure there are variables.

We should have a 24/7 court in these centers and streamline the process. When you take the profit out of the situation my guess it will become a better and more real process.

Scooping up of legal citizens for profit will dwindle. Also any legal citizen should be paid restitution.

  4. J. Soden says:

TheDonald was absolutely right when he actually named the purveyors of Fake News in his most recent news conference.
I prefer using the old-time description: Damned Lies/Liars!

  5. Tina says:

The memo was written January 25, 2017, if Dewey’s link provides the actual memo and it appears to be authentic. It was sent to the “acting director and underlings. This was BEFORE Trump was swarn in and his team affirmed. Did Kelly actually write the memo?

VOX reports that the “Department of Homeland Security says the memo was a very early draft, and the idea for National Guard mobilization was “never seriously considered.”

If it was an “early draft” it woud have been written prior to January 25th and again who wrote it…and to what purpose? One possibility was to mess with the smooth transition. Both Obama and the AG wrote last minute regulation changes that messed with the transition.

The entire story is highly suspect considering the obvious intent by the previous administration to make life difficult for Trump and the left MSM is in the tank for the radical left Dems.

    • Bryan H. says:

“The memo was written January 25, 2017, if Dewey’s link provides the actual memo and it appears to be authentic. It was sent to the “acting director and underlings. This was BEFORE Trump was swarn in and his team affirmed. Did Kelly actually write the memo?”

What? Trump was sworn in on January 20th. So no, it was not written before he was sworn in.

As far as I can see there was nothing fake about this story. The memo exists, and was written by someone in the Trump administration. And we’re supposed to believe it’s fake just because noted liar Sean Spicer says it is?

      • Tina says:

Apologies, I’ve had my head in paperwork and moving for awhile. Half of the time I’m not even sure what month it is.

I do think it’s a bit over the top for you on the left to lecture others.

The thing that makes it fake news is that it was reported as if it had been seriously considered and implemented (possibly in secret) …headline they want people to get over and over again: TRUMP LEADS POLICE STATE!

Go ahead and deny it. It won’t mean a thing. That’s what all of the negative headlines are ultimately designed to accomplish.

Salon, Saturday, Sep 3, 2016 01:30 PM PDT, “Trump’s mass deportation machine: He’ll create an American police state equal to Nazi Germany ”

        November 27, 215NYT, “Donald Trump’s Police State”

Stories like these are not about relaying news; they are about creating atmosphere and attitude.

        • Bryan H. says:

The thing that makes it fake news is that it was reported as if it had been seriously considered and implemented (possibly in secret) …headline they want people to get over and over again: TRUMP LEADS POLICE STATE!

No, it was not reported as if it had been “implemented,” though it was reported as if it had been seriously considered, because it had been.

          • Tina says:

You have zero knowledge that it had been seriously considered. You just want to believe it so you think it’s true, would even swear to it.

            Ridiculous!

  6. Pie Guevara says:

By the way, that was an AP story, it did not originate with the New York Post.

Dewey, you are not improving your (deserved) reputation as a raving anti-capitalism lunatic living in your own fantasy world. I should just ignore you. I just wasted five minutes of my life reading and commenting on your dysfunctional screed that I will never get back.

    • Dewster says:

Ah I believe I said that… let me spell it again for you AP

Pie if you were any judge for someones Reputation I would be concerned. Your smut is a badge of honor.

Facts are facts. Go along believing the mainstream Propaganda. That is your right.

But you sir never discuss, name call and ignore facts because you did not see them in your selected form of propaganda.

This is a fact. The profit prison system and shares held by many in gov, banks, and even the Clinton’s is a problem. Does Trump’s trust also have shares? I do not know yet.

If we are going to deport someone then do it in a streamlined way. Do not hold people endlessly while the taxpayers pay a daily fee to a Corporation.

Should we not look at the expense and cut wasted spending here?

Just provided the doc that the AP went off of. It was some of us that railed them in to retracting the original headline.

I do not care what party someone is in. I do care about Propaganda coming from both sides. Headline propaganda with no sources must stop.

You realize it was Bill Clinton’s Telecommunication act that paved the way for massive consolidation of media into the hands of the few. Controlling the thoughts of America.

People repeat what they see on news. I know what is said and I do not watch. I can go back and view a clip in question any time.

      Who ate my Blueberry Pie?

  7. Pie Guevara says:

    Side note:

I just read this headline on Drudge — MERKEL WELCOMES MORE REFUGEES
    ‘ISLAM NOT SOURCE OF TERROR’

Yeah, and not only do pigs fly, they are capable of Mach 5.

    • Tina says:

There was a headline yesterday…Merkel is up for election this year and all the signs say she’s toast. In fact a big swing away from liberalism is expected in France and Germany.

This is the Pope. We have to consider that his point of view takes evil into consideration, allowing for repentance and redemption. It’s his job.

  8. Libby says:

The trouble is that the AP has already admitted that they, as Salon put it, got out ahead of their skis. But there is a DHS memo, and it does discuss deputizing guardsmen, which was done during the post-9/11 roundup.

Now, when is Fox going to own that there are no millions of fraudulent voters?

    • Tina says:

How do YOU know there are not?

      Voters voting twice.

Voters voting in more than one state.

Voters voting for dead people and dogs.

Votes cast with addresses where there is no residence.

Voters that have no right to vote registering with fake ID.

What you know is what your arrogant activist liberal pals spit out regularly. But even Salon acknowledges there are problems:

…election Day 2000, he trotted down to the polls and voted in person. The only problem was that his polling place is in Staten Island, where he lives, while the absentee ballot went to Florida, where he winters.

This August, Moschella’s name came up in a sweep of voter registration records by the New York Daily News, which found that he and 46,000 other New Yorkers were registered to vote in both Florida and New York. Moschella also had the bad luck to answer the phone when the News reporter, Russ Buettner, called. So, his name appeared in the paper’s Aug. 21 story revealing that in the 2000 election between 400 and 1,000 of these double-registrants voted in both states.

Other investigations revealed similar results elsewhere. The Orlando Sentinel found that 68,000 Florida voters are also registered in Georgia or North Carolina (the only two states it checked), 1,650 of whom voted twice in 2000 or 2002. The Kansas City Star discovered 300 “potential” cases of individual voter fraud, including Kansans voting in Missouri and St. Louisans voting in both the city and the surrounding suburbs. “I probably shouldn’t have voted in Kansas,” a Kansas City businesswoman named Lorraine Goodrich told the paper, owning up to the offense. “That was a mistake. Whoops! Oh my God, I’m going to get in so much trouble, aren’t I?”

Like, so much trouble. Intentionally voting more than once in a federal election is a third-degree felony in most states and probably also violates federal election-fraud laws. The punishment varies from state to state but is usually up to five or 10 years in jail and fine of up to $5,000 or $10,000. (Is it ever enforced? If it were it might change the situation)

There have been cities in several states with more votes cast than there were registered voters. Tell me that isn’t an organized attempt to sway the vote…go ahead.

We should do everything we can to clean up the vote. I hope you can at least agree about that.

      • Dewster says:

Great subject to talk about Tina. I want to reform elections as well.

Let us dive into this. I do have some info to share care to discuss?

Cleaning up the elections should be a Priority for a democracy.

I know of an investigator that went with some of these lists to those on charge of the state elections in a few states.

Open a thread and let’s Talk!

Kris Kobach of Kansas started this GOP roll check
America needs us all to talk

      • Peggy says:

We all MUST remember that Al Franken won his senate seat because of the illegal voting of felons. Franken’s win gave the Dems the needed vote to pass ObamaCare.

York: When 1,099 felons vote in race won by 312 ballots:

“In the ’08 campaign, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman was running for re-election against Democrat Al Franken. It was impossibly close; on the morning after the election, after 2.9 million people had voted, Coleman led Franken by 725 votes.
Franken and his Democratic allies dispatched an army of lawyers to challenge the results. After the first canvass, Coleman’s lead was down to 206 votes. That was followed by months of wrangling and litigation. In the end, Franken was declared the winner by 312 votes. He was sworn into office in July 2009, eight months after the election.

During the controversy a conservative group called Minnesota Majority began to look into claims of voter fraud. Comparing criminal records with voting rolls, the group identified 1,099 felons — all ineligible to vote — who had voted in the Franken-Coleman race.

Minnesota Majority took the information to prosecutors across the state, many of whom showed no interest in pursuing it. But Minnesota law requires authorities to investigate such leads. And so far, Fund and von Spakovsky report, 177 people have been convicted — not just accused, but convicted — of voting fraudulently in the Senate race. Another 66 are awaiting trial. “The numbers aren’t greater,” the authors say, “because the standard for convicting someone of voter fraud in Minnesota is that they must have been both ineligible, and ‘knowingly’ voted unlawfully.” The accused can get off by claiming not to have known they did anything wrong.

Still, that’s a total of 243 people either convicted of voter fraud or awaiting trial in an election that was decided by 312 votes. With 1,099 examples identified by Minnesota Majority, and with evidence suggesting that felons, when they do vote, strongly favor Democrats, it doesn’t require a leap to suggest there might one day be proof that Al Franken was elected on the strength of voter fraud.

And that’s just the question of voting by felons. Minnesota Majority also found all sorts of other irregularities that cast further doubt on the Senate results.

The election was particularly important because Franken’s victory gave Senate Democrats a 60th vote in favor of President Obama’s national health care proposal — the deciding vote to overcome a Republican filibuster. If Coleman had kept his seat, there would have been no 60th vote, and no Obamacare.”

  9. Libby says:

It is a logical fallacy to ask someone to prove a negative. There is not one shred of evidence to support your position. “But there could be” is the argument of a moron, a believer in the tooth fairy … which is all very well at your kitchen table, but it will not do as a basis for public policy.

Would you please stop being a moron.

    • Dewster says:

Libby they did find a couple like less than 5 and they were Republicans. But ya know far be it for a conservative to report that.

They will just go with whatever their guy says

  10. Tina says:

I asked how you would know (not prove) that it’s false.

I then cited examples, a mere sampling of precincts, from various regions of the country that show votes are regularly cast fraudulently. If it happens in a few cities or districts it probably happens in others. The total could easily add up to a million is if the corruption is widespread. We can’t know without an effort to clean up the voter rolls, something your side wants to avoid for some mysterious, and highly suspicious, reason.

The assertion, when I’ve heard it, has been speculation…it could be as much as a million. The point being we don’t know and if we are to remain stable as a country it would behoove us to find out.

That is exactly what one good citizen, Catherine Engelbrecht, was attempting to do in her area of the nation when Lois Lerner at the IRS stepped in to stop her from forming a 501c4 prior to an election. She was considered a threat by an activist government bureaucrat who used all her powers to derail Catherine.

That this was done through the power of our government is a true scandal that all Americans should condemn while we applaud the efforts of Engelbrecht and duplicate her efforts across the nation.

People like you have no respect for law and order and will do anything for power, including denying fraudulent voting exists.

    • Dewster says:

      Tina

I gave you the video before. Info before. Interstate Crosscheck?

The DNC stealing the Primary and their cheating? They use #Russia to Hide?

That party is about to be destroyed. Mark my words all Hexl is about to break out after Feb 23rd if they keep a corrupt chair in place.

Both parties Cheated and I think it is time to come together and fix elections.

      Democracy depends on it.

We need the people to control elections win or loose at least it is the will of the majority.

We helped the country dodge the Bullet of the Clinton Cabal, but by no means does the new Admin get a Pass on any corruption.

Also if you look at the new cabal Forming? Goldman Sachs ect win no matter which Party has the Keys to Gov.

History just keeps repeating, the media keeps 2 Teams fighting while we loose everything most importantly our rights.

      Truth to Power,

Disagreement is OK as long as it is based on Facts

  11. Dewster says:

BTW Both Parties still have a Paid Troll army on the internet. I catch the same election trolls all the time. The DNC Trolls are just as mean as the trump trolls. Both Teams try to pay disrupts.

The real people on either team must not be grouped into this Circus where the media is their tool.

  12. Peggy says:

Great article. The media is facilitating its own demise. I’ll highlight some of the content below, but worth reading it all.

Why the Media’s Trump Lie Machine is Failing:

“No one believes the media anymore.

Every five minutes the many mouths of the media broadcast, type, post and shriek that President Donald J. Trump is a liar. After months of this treatment, more voters find him truthful than them.

49% of voters believe that Trump and his people are telling the truth. Only 39% believe that the media is.

The media’s war on President Trump isn’t hurting him. It is destroying the media’s own credibility.

    …..

The first time the New York Times called Trump a liar was during the election. Times editor Dean Baquet insisted that while Hillary Clinton might “obfuscate, exaggerate”, Trump was a liar. And when the Times printed lies about Trump, it too was no doubt merely obfuscating and exaggerating rather than lying.

The Times can’t call its own candidate who lied about landing “under sniper fire” in Bosnia, negotiating peace in Northern Ireland and being kept out of NASA and the Marine Corps by sexism, a liar. And yet it expects someone, anyone, to believe that calling Trump a liar is anything more than a partisan smear.

Before the first debate, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and Politico all ran stories accusing Trump of being a liar. The coordinated attack failed to accomplish anything at all.

“Our president is a pathological liar. Say it. Write it. Never become inured to it,” Times columnist Charles Blow ranted in January. By February, the Times was reduced to writing explainers to explain why its lies weren’t working. “Why Nobody Cares the President Is Lying.”

The public had become inured to a partisan attack from a partisan press.

The more the media attacked Trump, the less effective those attacks became. To call anyone else a liar, you need to tell the truth. And truth requires objectivity. The media had discarded objectivity in pursuit of political goals, but still “identified” as objective. In the parlance of political correctness, you are what you “identify” as, but the real
world has never brought into this lie masquerading as a delusion.

Truth is not who you pretend to be. It’s who you are.

The media wanted the authority to determining who was lying without the responsibility of telling the truth. As the media made its partisan bias more obvious, it lost the credibility it needed. The more the media called President Trump a liar, the more the public believed that the media was lying.

    ……….

The media is doing more than ever. And it’s accomplishing less than ever.

Instead the media has become trapped in a cycle of impotence. The harder it attacks Trump, the more credibility it loses. And this makes its attacks on him even more spectacularly ineffective.
Its arrogance has become its own undoing.

    ……..

The billions of dollars in media infrastructure, printing presses, broadcast towers and licenses, are becoming more irrelevant every year. And the media’s credibility is becoming irrelevant even faster.

Without broadcasting infrastructure, the media’s reach depends on credibility. The majority of Democrats still believe the media. The vast majority of Republicans do not. The media is an echo chamber that reflects this partisan structure. And its echo doesn’t reach past the ranks of the left.

The media is baffled at the futility of its efforts against Trump. It still can’t conceive of a world in which it isn’t trusted or needed. But Americans already don’t trust the media. And they don’t need it either.

    ………

The existence of a professional class of men and women who write about events was a leftover from an era when communication speeds were rising, but distribution still required investing in infrastructure: whether it was a printing press or a broadcast tower. The internet makes distribution absurdly easy.

Even the old privileges of the press, like the press corps, can be easily stripped away from it, as the White House has demonstrated by expanding the press corps to include more conservative outlets.

The New York Times was once known as the paper of record because it set the agenda for smaller papers. As one editor declared, “We set the agenda for the country in that room.” But the Times doesn’t set the agenda anymore. The internet does.

    ……..

The media bemoans the collapse of its influence as a “post-truth world” filled with “Fake News” and “alternative facts”. But it was the media that destroyed its hegemony of credibility. After unveiling its “Fake News” smear, it quickly pulled it back again because it was all too easy for conservatives to use it to expose the flood of media lies.

A post-truth world rejects objectivity. The media imagines that its fact checks, which spin and editorialize shamelessly, put it on the side of truth. But truth is more than finding a factoid you can use to make a lie seem more plausible or a truth more unlikely. It’s intellectual honesty for its own sake.

The media believes that its left-wing goals are more important than objectivity or truth. But by abandoning the principles it claimed to live by, it destroyed its ability to achieve those goals.”
