County Judge Deems Portland Student “Genderless”

Posted by Tina

Lefty activism continues to muddy the waters in the scientific community…this time biology again takes a hit. Radicals in the gender neutral community have gotten their foot in the door through a court decision to wedge altered definitions into the law. Pronouns and gender no longer apply to some citizens. All because a loony judge in Portland has decided a young man has the right to claim that words in the scientific lexicon don’t apply to him…including the pronoun I just used to communicate about “him.”. HeatStreet reports:

The March 10 decision, reported for the first time on Thursday, involved a 27-year-old who was born male but claimed to identify with no gender whatsoever. Judge Amy Holmes, who approved the petition, also last year approved a “non-binary” gender designation for another Portland resident.

The 27-year-old formerly known as Patrick Abbatiello, now legally designated agender, also got legal approval to change names, now going only by “Patch,” no surname. That name also serves as a pronoun, Patch explained to the local NBC affiliate this week.

“Even gender-neutral pronouns don’t feel as if they fit me,” Patch said. “I feel no identity or closeness with any pronouns I’ve come across. What describes me is my name.”

So this nut believes “Patch” describes him? ER…it? No, that’s not right either….uh…hmmmm.

Imagine a scenario involving “Patch” playing out at a crime scene…or in a court of criminal law. Imagine a teacher attempting to communicate clearly within the classroom.

“Feelings” do not define reality.

Do I care if this kid wants to be free from gender identity or pronoun use or abuse? Absolutely not. It’s a free country. I think he may find life much more difficult to manage if this insanity continues but it’s still his choice.

Shallow thinkers like the young man called “Patch,” along with the incredibly ignorant judge (I use her title only with deep objection), are cluttering the courts with nonsense…and for what? Attention? Or is this tiny ruling just another step in the long march to further divide the nation and cause problems in communities, the family, the courts and the schools? How long ca a free people survive this onslaught? Do you care?

Personal problems do not belong in our courts…if they belong anywhere, it’s in the privacy of the home, ones circle of friends, or the psychiatrists office.

    Who cares?

I care more about the harm Trump is doing

  2. Dewster says:

How about the fact the Buffoon who has no clue how NATO WORKS handed Merkel an invoice demanding hundreds of billions of dollars he thinks Germany owes Nato.

Trying to provoke Germany? Disgusting! He thinks NATO has a Billable membership Fee like hi Golf Clubs? LOL

    Some negotiator… What a Buffoon!

Or how about the Koch Movement for a constitutional convention to rewrite the Constitutional to their fascism?

    • Tina says:

And you assume you’re the expert in matters of NATO?

      What an arrogant presumptive A$$!

      Shall we do some investigating?

      Oh let’s! Start here:

Most NATO countries don’t pay their fair share, and it’s becoming a sore point in the U.S.

Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton both used the Democratic presidential debate Thursday to call on other NATO members to spend more on defense. Donald Trump has gone even further, saying the U.S. should rethink its involvement in the military alliance because it costs too much money.

Many European members — including big economies like France and Germany — spend less than the amount called for by NATO guidelines.

The U.S. shells out far more money on defense than any other nation on the planet.

According to NATO statistics, the U.S. spent an estimated $650 billion on defense last year. That’s more than double the amount all the other 27 NATO countries spent between them, even though their combined GDP tops that of the U.S.

American military spending has always eclipsed other allies’ budgets since the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s founding in 1949. But the gap grew much wider when the U.S. beefed up its spending after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Even NATO itself admits it has an “over-reliance” on the U.S. for the provision of essential capabilities, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, air-to-air refueling, ballistic missile defense and airborne electronic warfare.

The U.S. also spends the highest proportion of its GDP on defense: 3.62%. The second biggest NATO spender in proportional terms is Greece, at 2.46%, according to NATO.

The organization is based on the principle of collective defense: an attack against one or several of its members is considered as an attack against all. So far that has only been invoked once — in response to the September 11 attacks.

To make the principle work, all countries are expected to chip in. NATO’s official guidelines say member states should spend at least 2% of their GDP on defense.

Of the 28 countries in the alliance, only five — the U.S., Greece, Poland, Estonia and the U.K. — meet the target.

The rest lag behind. Germany spent 1.18% of its GDP on defense last year, France forked out 1.8%.

Trump has the temerity to ask Germany to meet the terms of the agreement they signed! I know that for you that simple request amounts to a scandal of “epic” proportions, but in fact it is a perfectly mature and reasonable thing to do. It shows the President has respect for Merkel and her nation.

When those who make an agreement with others don;t keep their agreements it is the responsibility of the others to support them in righting the situation.

Fascism? As I’ve demonstrated again and again with your own buffoonery, you don’t know what fascism is!

      • RHT447 says:

Hmm. Liberal has no answers, so dismisses topic and changes the subject. This is my shocked, stunned, and amazed face. I spent three years on the ground assigned to NATO. You don’t maintain that kind of military capability with unicorn farts and moonbeams.

        • Dewster says:

Then you know Trump is out of Line.

NATO is not his baby to Run. In fact Trump is a National Security Risk.

          • Tina says:

Idiot. Asking nations to meet the agreements they made when they joined NATO is NOT an attempt to “run” it. It is one member asking another to keep it’s agreement. And since these nations have failed to keep their end of the bargain over many years it is not at all surprising that the one that did, and even exceeded it’s agreement, should act finally to right the situation. This is the adult thing to do.

You think like a small, demanding child!

    Tina

BTW You read propaganda trump even tried to deny the bill. It is a Fake document. trump is not authorized to do any such thing. You really think the USA is the Boss of the world? LOL

Merkle is now the Leader of the Free World. No one respects Trump and he has handed over that title in the world View.

    Grow UP

    • Tina says:

“…trump even tried to deny the bill. It is a Fake document…”

      What bill? What document?

NATO: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was formed in 1949 with the signing of the Washington Treaty.

Washington Treaty: The Washington Naval Treaty, also known as the Five-Power Treaty, was a treaty among the major nations that had won World War I, which by the terms of the treaty agreed to prevent an arms race by limiting naval construction. It was negotiated at the Washington Naval Conference, held in Washington, D.C., from November 1921 to February 1922, and it was signed by the governments of the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, France, and Italy. The Treaty committed each member to share the risk, responsibilities and benefits of collective defence – a concept at the very heart of the Alliance. In 1949, the primary aim of the Treaty was to create a pact of mutual assistance to counter the risk that the Soviet Union would seek to extend its control of Eastern Europe to other parts of the continent. The Treaty also required members not to enter into any international commitments that conflicted with the Treaty and committed them to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations (UN). Moreover, it stated that NATO members formed a unique community of values committed to the principles of individual liberty, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

In addition to collective defense and key values, the principle of consensus decision-making and the importance of consultation define the spirit of the Organization, together with its defensive nature and its flexibility.

“Merkle is now the Leader of the Free World.”

According to lefties? The losers? The creatures whose policies have set the world afire? Fat chance! Much of Europe is angry at Merkel…she helped to spark the Brexit movement which is spreading.

      “No one respects Trump”

      Bologna! (propaganda)

World leaders are meeting with Trump. Business leaders are meeting with Trump. People all over the world have high hopes that his policies will restore the world to a higher level of safety and prosperity.

Your opinion is bogus but you are welcome to it.

  4. Bryan H. says:

Your knowledge of science is outdated. In the field of neuroscience, especially, there is a growing body of evidence that gender identity exists more as a spectrum than a binary. Not all people identify as male or female; this has always been true. Unconventional gender variances have been recognized throughout history in many cultures, and can be found in Native American, Jewish and Islamic texts.

Unless you know someone who is agender, this has no effect on your life, and if you do know someone who is agender, you should learn to respect them as they are. If you experience recognizing harmless differences in individuals as an “onslaught” against you, then you are not only quite selfish, but also a nosy busy-body.

    • Tina says:

“In the field of neuroscience, especially, there is a growing body of evidence”

The same kind of evidence used to push climate change, global warming, global cooling and other agenda driven science?

“…you should learn to respect them as they are.”

Respect according to your set of rules?

Who are you to decide what I think or feel about individual people…or how I would treat them? It could be I have more respect for them as people than you do.

“Not all people identify as male or female”

Identify? What a cool word. It doesn’t change biology. It could indicate an identity crisis:

In psychology, the term identity crisis means the failure to achieve ego identity during adolescence. The stage of psychosocial development in which identity crisis may occur is called the Identity Cohesion vs. Role Confusion. During this stage, adolescents are faced with physical growth, sexual maturity, and integrating ideas of themselves and about what others think of them. Adolescents therefore form their self-image and endure the task of resolving the crisis of their basic ego identity. Successful resolution of the crisis depends on one’s progress through previous developmental stages, centering on issues such as trust, autonomy, and initiative.

People are not cookie cutter cutouts. Femininity (Masculinity) is not a single expression. But the biology, and the purpose for it, remains.

“this has no effect on your life”

What an arrogant assessment. First of all my concern for the language is not frivolous or whimsical. The blurring of definitions has already caused problems in courts, the military and defense, and classrooms.

“Gender identity” is a personal problem. People with personal problems should deal with them personally. Instead you ask the whole of society to change to accommodate the few…and, on demand. You politicize the personal and force and muddy the language in order to do it.

“Onslaught” refers not to individuals but to the political activism.

(Why do people use the plight of others as a means of proving their own sensitivity?)

Back to gender “identifying”…feelings do not make us who we are. Gender doesn’t either. There is little that stops males or females, no matter how they see themselves from engaging in an activity or job that their desires suggest. So what is the issue, really? A need to be different and call attention. A perverse or distorted form of reaching out? The need to dress and act so as to call attention to oneself as the other gender may indicate a serious problem. Insisting on using a bathroom other than one designated according to biological gender also could indicate a very serious emotional problem. I think you do people no favors when you play political games with these people.

“you are not only quite selfish, but also a nosy busy-body.”

I don’t know how expressing my opinion is “selfish” when I’m being asked to consider it through activist involvement. This issue has been politicized and because it has I have the same right to express myself as anyone else. You would be right about me being a “busy-body” if this personal problem had not been driven into the public square.

I have empathy with anyone who has these feelings. It must be confusing. It must create anxiety in many situations. People have all kinds of personal challenges in their lives. Learning to deal with them is part of becoming adult.

I will look into the neurological aspect.

      • Bryan H. says:

I hope you do look into it, Tina. You will find it is well supported.

Brain differences are a part of a person’s biology, so I find the use of the term “biological gender” to be a misnomer.

You say that gender identity is a “personal problem,” but what if it isn’t a problem at all? What if the problem is how they are treated by society? I don’t believe these people are asking for any special treatment, they just want equal treatment.

The bathroom issue is silly. You cannot tell everyone’s birth sex just by looking. There are transwomen who look exactly like cis women, and transmen who look exactly like cis men, but under the laws conservatives are floating, they would have to use the bathroom of their birth sex, which would make both themselves and others uncomfortable. That protects no one. We can trust trans people to know which bathrooms are safest for themselves and others, and we don’t need unnecessary regulations about where people can pee.
