California Imam Preaches Hate and Violence

We hear it all the time. Tolerance and appeasement are the anecdotes to address violent terror attacks. If that approach is promoted and practiced anywhere it’s in the progressive areas of California and it’s state run education centers. Their soft on terror posture excuses intolerant behavior of the ugliest kind. So it comes as no surprise that an Imam in Davis California preached that all Muslims would be called upon to “kill all of the Jews.” The Jerusalem Post reports:

In a July 21 lecture posted on the Davis Masjid YouTube channel, Muslim preacher Ammar Shahin spoke in English and Arabic about how all Muslims, not only Palestinians or Syrians, will be called upon to kill all the Jews on “the last day.”

In a video translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Shahin also stressed that the Hadith (oral tradition of sayings attributed to the prophet of Islam) does not say where the final battle will take place. “If it is in Palestine,” for example, “or another place,” hinting at the possibility that such a battle could happen in the United States or Europe as well. He also prayed that al-Aksa mosque be liberated from “the filth of the Jews.”

Progressives, including those who participate here, constantly rail against people they call “haters”…except when it comes to hateful Muslims…those who continuously and blatantly engage in hate both verbally and with violence and terror.

Explain please.

  1. Libby says:

And you could have made this investigation yourself … but you did not.

    http://www.davismasjid.org/

Why did you not? … because irrational bigotry is more fun than reasoned inquiry?

    • Tina says:

Why should I. The Islamic Center memo says exactly what I would expect it to say. It includes lies…the same political lies that the left in America use when excusing violent acts against Israel and pretending terrorists organizations like Hamas, with their continuing hatred of Jews, aren’t responsible for the conflict.

Imam Shahin and the ICD reject any attempt to blame all Jews for Israel’s policies just like we reject the attempts to blame all Muslims for the acts of fringe groups. In reality, Jews around the world are on the front lines speaking out and protesting Israel’s repressive policies against Palestinians.

MEMRI, an extremist agenda driven organization that supports Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land, and other Islamophobic news organizations, accused Imam Shahin of anti-Semitism, quoting edited, mistranslated, passages of the sermon out of context.

If the sermon was misconstrued, we sincerely apologize to anyone offended. We will continue our commitment to interfaith and community harmony.

Interfaith and community harmony…as long as Islam is considered the authority…the last word.

By what measure is Israel “occupying” Palestinian land?

By what measure does Israel have no authority concerning the Temple Mount? Times of Israel, “At the Temple Mount, it’s not about metal detectors, it’s about sovereignty – Abbas is calling for a return to the way things were before July 14’s deadly attack in which two Israeli cops were killed. The worshiper-protesters on the streets of the Old City have more ambitious goals”:

Because this is a clash over sacred space, the protests are more religious than nationalist in nature. Many Palestinians have become tired of politics, but their religion and its symbols remain a force of mass mobilization.

There has never been a nation called Palestine. During the Ottoman empire the land the Romans called Palestine was controlled by the Turks. But there is a religion called Islam and the people calling themselves Palestinians are taught that Jews are dogs that should be driven into the sea.

Breitbart is in Jerusalem and reports:

Palestinian and Muslim leaders used the new security measures as a battle cry and called for a Day of Rage. Armed with Molotov cocktails and shouting slogans telling Jews that “the army of Muhammed is returning,” Muslims have converged on the holy city on a daily basis to riot. On Friday night, a grandfather and his two adult children were stabbed to death at their Shabbat table in the West Bank community of Halamish by a Palestinian terrorist who said he was avenging Israel’s alleged actions on the Temple Mount.

On Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s orders, the metal detectors were dismantled on Monday night, but the next day at the Temple Mount, the Waqf is still nowhere in sight, because, well, this was never really about metal detectors. Still, none of the group of Jews accompanying this reporter are complaining.

Yitzchak Reuven, Assistant International Director of the Temple Institute, which advocates for Jewish rights at the holy site, said the absence of Waqf officials was a welcome change. In addition to Israeli police, Waqf officials usually accompany every group of Jews ascending the Mount to ensure they don’t violate any of the rules, for example by moving their lips in prayer. Non-Muslims are barred from praying at the holy site or bringing any kind of religious articles such as prayer shawls or holy books. According to Reuven, the Waqf officials are routinely hostile to Jewish pilgrims.

“Jews aren’t even around to drink from water fountains here, because the Muslims object to it,” he said.

Yitzchak Reuven, Assistant International Director of the Temple Institute, explains how the Dome of the Rock sits on what was once the site of the Holy of Holies in the Jewish temple. (see) Video: Deborah Danan.

Even though today the site is devoid of Muslim religious officials – indeed devoid of Muslims altogether as a result of the boycott – Israel’s police are still careful to adhere to the rules. To keep our group in check, a number of policemen holding video cameras film us the entire time. Another Jewish pilgrim was arrested today for reciting the mourner’s prayer over the three slain members of the Salomon family. (This can be seen in the below video) …

…As Reuven explains, “No Jew is interested in the Mosque,” and gesturing to the vast expanse of the plateau, adds, “Look around. There’s space for everyone to pray.”

Yet on the Arab street and by Muslim leaders, the Al Aqsa Mosque – and not the Temple Mount or Haram al-Sharif as it is known in Arabic – is presented as being under grave threat from the Jews. As Islam’s third holiest site, the mosque is a flashpoint that drives Muslims to riot and invade people’s homes to murder them.

“With our blood and our souls we will redeem Al Aqsa,” rioters chanted on Tuesday.

The second point is the claim of Israel’s alleged changes to the “status quo” established after Israel captured the Temple Mount from Jordan during the 1967 Six Day War. As Reuven points out, the status quo is constantly in flux according to the whims of the Waqf. Muslims have 24/7 access to the site and use 11 entrances that – apart from the past week and a half – have no metal detectors. Jews and other non-Muslims, however, can only enter through a single gate and must pass through metal detectors, as is the norm today in most religious sites around the world, including the Vatican in Rome. In addition, Jews and non-Muslims can only visit five days a week between the hours of 7:30am-11:30am and 1:30pm-2:30pm. However, even with this limited access, the Waqf can decide at the last second not to allow Jews to ascend. And in the interests of keeping the peace, Israel’s police will almost always comply.

You are incredibly ignorant concerning Israel and the Jews, Libby, as are many American Jews (mostly secular) and leftist politicians. It is no secret that you align with enemies of America and Israel due to your progressive (commie) agenda. (This is one of the things that make the Russia Russia Russia witch hunt so hilarious). It’s no wonder you fall for these lame excuses and pretenses at apology.

You can bet that any Rabbi would be pilloried and condemned for saying anything similar. the double standard is obvious…the phony conviction of peace and tolerance is too.

  2. Libby says:

“Interfaith and community harmony…as long as Islam is considered the authority…the last word.”

Tina, this is you reading into their communication something that is not there. You want it to be there, but it is not. This is you acting on prejudice, not fact, which would be your classic definition of bigotry.

In fact, by typing just 5 little letters into the Google I found:

    http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/Middle_East_Media_Research_Institute/

One of your own … that four years ago reported just exactly what the beleaguered folk in Davis assert the organization is apparently still doing. But I could pull evidence till the moon went blue … you don’t see what’s on the page … you see what’s in your head.

  3. Tina says:

“You want it to be there, but it is not.”

Really? So I am fabricating what comes out of their own mouths? “He also prayed that al-Aksa mosque be liberated from “the filth of the Jews.”

I repeat, “You can bet that any Rabbi would be pilloried and condemned for saying (praying) anything similar.”

If I talked about “the filth” of the Muslims you would have a point. As it is I simply post what has been said by some Muslims and you imagine I am “putting it there?”

    You’re prejudiced, bigoted, and blind.

Games! You’re playing games, Libby. In this case it’s a very dangerous and stupid game. You deny things going on right under your nose…like the Germans did under Hitler. Europe is at it again:

    Frontpage Magazine

Denmark’s Jewish community has filed a complaint over an imam accused of calling for the murder of Jews in a case sparking political opprobrium, it emerged Thursday.

Imam Mundhir Abdallah preaches in the working class Copenhagen suburb of Norrebro at the Masjid Al-Faruq mosque, which media have previously linked to radical Islam.

He stands accused of citing a hadith or koranic narrative on March 31 calling for Muslims to rise up against Jews.

“Judgement Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them,” begins Abdallah’s address in footage on YouTube, according to a transcript of the original Arabic provided by US organisation the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

Mundhir Abdallah: “(Soon there will be) a Caliphate, which will instate the shari’a of Allah and revive the Sunna of His Prophet, which will wage Jihad for the sake of Allah, which will unite the Islamic nation after it disintegrated, and which will liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the Zionists, so that the words of the Prophet Muhammad will be fulfilled: ‘Judgement Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. The Jews will hide behind the rocks and the trees, but the rocks and the trees will say: ‘Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’ The rightly-guided state, which will instate the shari’a of Allah, will unite the servants of Allah, will revive the Islamic nation, will wage Jihad against its enemies, will liberate Jerusalem, and will uproot the Jewish entity, that colonialist and Crusader base – that rightly-guided state will soon come to be, Allah willing.”

Are you waiting for smoke from the ovens?

    • Libby says:

I inform you the lecture was 1) mistranslated and 2) quoted out of context … and you flatly refuse to consider it, just quote the mistranslated, out of context, stuff back at me.

      That is not rational.

I inform you that the MEMRI has got a solid rep for that sort of thing, and you just quote the mistranslated, out of context, stuff back at me … and throw in a little hyperbole for good measure.

How can you think you are making any headway here?

      • Tina says:

        You inform me?

No, you tell me what the radical, apologetic, appeasing left says. It’s not the same thing.

In fact it is only claimed that the content was mistranslated.

It is also a radical leftist claim that MEMRI mis-translates material and lies.

Saying it is not proof of it. This is what your side does when it can’t handle information that goes against your belief systems and agenda…you discredit the messenger. It’s automatic behavior.

“How can you think you are making any headway here?”

You’re right. I’m wasting my time with you. However…

You are not the only person who reads PS. I trust that our readers can decide for themselves. At least when I post the information they have a chance to consider both opinions and make more informed decisions.

Lets look at the evidence in terms of actual reputation. They are used by government around the world. Without groups like MEMRI, the West would be at a great disadvantage in meeting the challenges of hostilities and terror that radical Islam poses. They don’t wear uniforms or other identifying insignia…in fact they hide in plain sight. It’s up to us to weed the out.

Our readers will find information on the ongoing MEMRI programs here.

Also their board of directors and history illustrate how bigoted and biased opinions against them makes no sense at all:

MEMRI’s Board of Advisors and Directors comprises a group of distinguished figures in government, media, law and academia. Among them are former prime ministers; attorneys-general; justice ministers; leading legal and counterterrorism experts; and recipients of the most prestigious awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the United States Congressional Gold Medal. This group also includes former United States government officials, such as the director of the CIA; Secretary of the Navy; Director of Operations with the FBI; Ambassadors to the United Nations, Iraq, the European Union, and Romania; Secretary of Education; Deputy Defense Secretary; and head presidential counsel. Members of MEMRI’s Board of Advisors are bipartisan and have honorably served Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.

Go head Libby, tell me how discredited this organization is now!

  4. Chris says:

Remember when Obama appeased Osama bin Laden to death?

Tina, Libby is right. MEMRI is notorious for mistranslating Muslim officials.

    You believe fake news.

No one denies that there are plenty of hateful imams in the world who use their holy book for violence, and when you pretend that your opponents deny this, it is only to create strawmen that are easier to knock down than our actual arguments. But given MEMRI’s history, there is absolutely no reason to believe their translation of this imam’s words. And no, his disagreement with Israeli policy is not enough to brand him an anti-Semite. You could be slandering an innocent person based on the words of noted liars, and you don’t even care.
