Trump Does The Unthinkable

Trump Does The Unthinkable

by Liz Crokin

As an entertainment journalist, I’ve had the opportunity to cover Trump for over a decade, and in all my years covering him I’ve never heard anything negative about the man until he announced he was running for president. Keep in mind, I got paid a lot of money to dig up dirt on celebrities like Trump for a living so a scandalous story on the famous billionaire could’ve potentially sold a lot of magazines and would’ve been a Huge feather in my cap.

Instead, I found that he doesn’t drink alcohol or do drugs, he’s a hardworking businessman.  On top of that, he’s one of the most generous celebrities in the world with a heart filled with more gold than his $100 million New York penthouse.

Since the media has failed so miserably at reporting the truth about Trump, I decided to put together some of the acts of kindness he’s committed over three decades which has gone virtually unnoticed or fallen on deaf ears.

In 1986, Trump prevented the foreclosure of Annabell Hill’s family farm after her husband committed suicide. Trump personally phoned down to the auction to stop the sale of her home and offered the widow money. Trump decided to take action after he saw Hill’s pleas for help in news reports.

In 1988, a commercial airline refused to fly Andrew Ten, a sick Orthodox Jewish child with a rare illness, across the country to get medical care because he had to travel with an elaborate life-support system. His grief stricken parents contacted Trump for help and he didn’t hesitate to send his own plane to take the child from Los Angeles to New York so he could get his treatment.

In 1991, 200 Marines who served in Operation Desert Storm spent time at Camp Lejune in North Carolina before they were scheduled to return home to their families. However, the Marines were told that a mistake had been made and an aircraft would not be able to take them home on their scheduled departure date. When Trump got wind of this, he sent his plane to make two trips from North Carolina to Miami to safely return the Gulf War Marines to their loved ones.

In 1995, a motorist stopped to help Trump after the limo he was traveling in got a flat tire. Trump asked the Good Samaritan how he could repay him for his help. All the man asked for was a bouquet of flowers for his wife. A few weeks later Trump sent the flowers with a note that read: We’ve paid off your mortgage.

In 1996, Trump filed a lawsuit against the city of Palm Beach, Florida, accusing the town of discriminating against his Mar-a-Lago resort club Permits because he allowed Jews and Blacks in unconditionally.

Abraham Foxman, who was the Anti-Defamation League Director at the time, said Trump put the light on Palm Beach, not on the beauty and the glitter, but on its seamier side of civic discrimination.

Foxman also noted that Trump’s charge had a trickle-down effect because other clubs followed his lead and began admitting Jews and Blacks.

In 2000, Maury Povich featured a little girl named Megan, who struggled with Brittle Bone Disease, on his show and Trump happened to be watching. Trump said the little girl’s story and positive attitude touched his heart. So he contacted Maury and gifted the little girl and her family with a very generous check.

In 2008, after Jennifer Hudson’s family members were tragically murdered in Chicago, Trump put the Oscar-winning actress and her family up at his Windy City hotel for free. In addition to that, Trump’s security took extra measures to ensure Hudson and her family members were safe during such a difficult time.

In 2013, New York bus driver Darnell Barton spotted a woman close to the edge of a bridge staring at traffic below as he drove by. He stopped the bus, got out and put his arm around the woman and saved her life by convincing her to not jump. When Trump heard about this story, he sent the hero bus driver a $10,000 check simply because he believed his good deed deserved to be rewarded.

In 2014, Trump gave $25,000 to Sgt. Andrew Tamoressi after he spent seven months in a Mexican jail for accidentally crossing the US-Mexico border. President Barack Obama couldn’t even be bothered to make one phone call to assist with the United States Marine’s release; however, Trump opened his pocketbook to help this serviceman get back on his feet.

In 2016, Melissa Consin Young attended a Trump rally and tearfully thanked Trump for changing her life. She said she proudly stood on stage with Trump as Miss Wisconsin USA in 2005. However, years later she found herself struggling with an incurable illness and during her darkest days she explained that she received a handwritten letter from Trump telling her she’s the bravest woman, I know. She said the opportunities that she got from Trump and his organizations ultimately provided her Mexican-American son with a full-ride to college.

Lynne Patton, a Black female executive for the Trump Organization, released a statement in 2016 defending her boss against accusations that he’s a racist and a bigot. She tearfully revealed how she’s struggled with substance abuse and addiction for years. Instead of kicking her to the curb, she said the Trump Organization and his entire family loyally stood by her through immensely difficult, successful rehab times.

Donald Trump’s kindness knows no bounds and his generosity has and continues to touch the lives of people from every sex, race and religion. When Trump sees someone in need, he wants to help.

Two decades ago, Oprah asked Trump in a TV interview if he’d run for president. He said: ‘ If it got so bad, I would never want to rule it out totally, because I really am tired of seeing what’s happening with this country.’

That day has come.  Trump sees America is in need and he wants to help. How unthinkable!  On the other hand , have you ever heard of Hillary or Obama doing such things with their own resources.

Most of these I’d heard about, but there were a couple I hadn’t. This is one of the reasons I changed my mind about supporting him. He’s not nor will he ever be a great speaker like Obama. But, Obama could tell lies with such conviction he earned the Liar of the Year award from Wash Post.

I am convinced Trump wants to make the lives of all Americans better, just like he did for those listed in this article.

  2. Libby says:

Again … the people you hang out with … are deeply disturbed … or criminally manipulative of the idiots among us for a buck.

I mean, Google these people before you post, fer heaven’s sake.

Tina … you don’t REALLY believe in PizzaGate, do you? Because, if so … it’s the rubber room for you, girl.

    • Tina says:

I did not post this, nor have I commented prior to this query. Nowhere in the article by Liz Crokin is anything like pizzagate mentioned. What the H are you talking about, Libby?

    • Tina says:

Looked up Liz Crokin…I don’t use google…and here’s what showed up: “Liz Crokin is an award-winning author, a seasoned and well-traveled entertainment journalist and a political junkie. Liz began her journey at the University of Iowa where she received a bachelor’s in journalism and political science.”

      • Chris says:

Sweet Jesus, Tina–that quote is from Crokin’s own website. You know, the same website where she claims that Democrat celebrities are running child sex rings out of pizza parlors.

I could write on my website that I personally exposed Tina Grazier as a puppy strangler, but that wouldn’t prove anything, right? So why would you think this quote proves anything?

You aren’t this stupid. What do you gain from pretending to be?

    • Peggy says:

I used Bing to find fact checker TruthorFiction on this article who stated the information is “True.”

Once again Libs you turn the table on yourself, “Again … the people you hang out with … are deeply disturbed … or criminally manipulative of the idiots among us for a buck.”

You really need to come out from under that rock you live under and realize that lots of conservative republicans are good people and not hateful trolls like members of your own party are.

“Entertainment columnist Liz Conklin listed good deeds by Donald Trump that have gone mostly unnoticed over the last 30 years in a piece headlined “Trump Does the Unthinkable.”

      The Truth:

Liz Conklin’s column, “Trump Does the Unthinkable,” mostly rings true.

The column, which appeared at Town Hall on July 10th, tells of Donald Trump’s good deeds over the last three decades that “have gone virtually unnoticed or fallen on deaf ears.” It’s meant to defend Trump against claims that he’s “a racist, bigot, sexist, xenophobe, Semitic and Islamaphobe.”

Conklin makes a number of specific claims about Trump’s good deeds, and they mostly check out. But the idea that Trump didn’t get any attention or press coverage or credit for them is false since we found endless media reports about almost all of them.”

Trump can easily rub you wrong, he is brash, but to the point, and his pragmatic ways have made him the success he is today.

He wasn’t my first choice in the primaries, but I have come to accept that he was this country’s only choice, America is off better today than it was under Bush’s (mediocre but honest) terms in office.

I have nothing positive to say about Obama other than watching him and his board Marine 1 and depart DC which was about the only thing he did that I appreciated.

Liz’s article was a eyeopener and she brought up some, actually many things I wasn’t aware of either, but with Trump those Samaritan things he does for others, he never seem braggadocios about, he just does them to help.

But as President and with the bias press and do nothing Dem’s he has to reiterate those achievement he promised to do for America.

In 2016 America needed a leader, not another slimy politician named Clinton, who was cut from the same cloth as Obama. Thankfully we got one, and if you won’t state your better off today because of opportunities that Trump created, and were never available, let alone considered when Obama was in office, your just lying to yourself.

If your a Trump Hater, resist all you want, your the one that is suffering because of it, not America as a whole, just you, A person who has become a minuscule, hate filled, cattle driven mindset along the lines of Maxine Waters and other clones of her ilk that are a waste of humanity.

And what I see as characteristic of Trump, is he will strive to make life better for those Trump haters just as much as his supporters,

And I will bet the farm on the fact Clinton and Obama wouldn’t lift a finger to better America unless they profited somehow.

After being an accidental lobbyist twice in DC and seeing how that swamp actually works, I felt that if Joe Average Voter could’ve seen what I saw that there would be a 2nd American Revolution.
The election of TheDonald was the best thing ever for this country after 8 miserable years of Obumble.
    Here’s to 4 more years!

  6. Peggy says:

Trump once again gives, expecting nothing in return. The news isn’t reporting that Trump was able to put the differences aside he had with McCain and offer his family anything they wanted for John’s funeral.

GRAHAM: JOHN KELLY CALLED MCCAIN’S FAMILY RIGHT AFTER SENATOR’S PASSING:

“Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham revealed that President Donald Trump instructed John Kelly to provide the McCain family with anything they need during their grieving.

Graham made the comments Monday night on “Hannity” on Fox News.

“John Kelly — I don’t know if John’s listening — he called right after John passed to the family. The president tells General Kelly ‘whatever they need they have,’” Graham began.”

    https://dailycaller.com/2018/08/28/lindsey-graham-john-kelly-call-mccain/

  7. Peggy says:

Also, Trump didn’t disrespect McCain by lowering the flag the second day. The staff was following protocol.

“For a member of Congress like Mr McCain, who was a senator for Arizona from 1987, the flag need only be flown at half mast on the day of their death and the next day. So, the White House didn’t break the rules, as Mr McCain died on Saturday and the flag was raised to its full height on Monday.”

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-45330730

    • Peggy says:

HOW LONG SHOULD THE FLAG BE AT HALF-STAFF?:

Thirty days after the death of a President or former President

Ten days after the death of a Vice President, the Chief Justice or a retired Chief

Justice, or the Speaker of the House of Representatives

Until the burial of an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, secretary of a military department, a former Vice President, or the governor of a state, territory, or possession.

On the day of, and the day after, the death of a Member of Congress.

On Memorial Day, the day set aside to honor all the people who have died while serving the United States. Originally called Decoration Day, the flag is flown at half-staff until noon, then raised to full staff until sundown.

  8. Cherokee Jack says:

Trump has one huge fault that makes people hate him. He refuses to obey the Prime Directive. Politicians are supposed to be careful of what they say, so that no one is offended. We know a politician will never say what he believes, if he thinks it will p…s off a voter, regardless of party affiliation. So we never see the human side of politicians. With Trump, we see the human side.

    • Tina says:

      Well said Cherokee Jack!

Given the Prime Directive politicians walk on eggshells to avoid bad publicity…their “work” advances at a snails pace as a result.

Another aspect of the Prime Directive is avoiding controversial issues prior to an election.

Trump never pulls back on the rhetoric. Trump doesn’t stop working toward the goals he’s set to avoid potential blow back by his adversaries or negative stories in the enemy press.

He’s wise to ignore the noise. The opposition has gone totally partisan every hour of every day and it will not stop. They use the word entitled a lot…they project! If ever there was a group of people who think of themselves as the anointed it’s the American radical left!

    • Pie Guevara says:

^5 Cherokee Jack for that observation. Obama, the serial liar, claimed he would have the most open administration in history. Instead, it was the exact opposite. Trump hides nothing on what his aims are. He may make stupid lies, he may make stupid tweets, but damn if he is not all out there.

    • Libby says:

“With Trump, we see the human side.”

And the virtue in this is what? … exactly? The human in question is astoundingly ignorant, a selfish brute. This is splendidly human, but NOT an asset in a President or any other public figure. And what makes you think he believes ANYTHING that he says, when he frequently contradicts himself a week later?

      • Cherokee Jack says:

Trump’s accomplishments in office, (see my comment to Pie Re: Walter Williams) which are those same actions that get your undies in a wad, are the reason I wouldn’t care if he had the obnoxious personality of a Hillary Clinton. I’m only interested in results, and I like the ones we’re getting from him.

        • Libby says:

          Like what? … exactly?

Making the brutalization of children federal policy? You be proud of that if you like. Makes me sick.

Makes the persecution of sexually ambiguous folk, aka religious bigotry, federal policy? You can be proud of that if you like, but you ain’t no Pilgrim, are you?

Making the rich, richer and the poor, poorer a federal policy? … fomenting domestic unrest? Fort up, Dude.

Frankly, you sound that that 68-year-old schmuck now up on federal charges for making threatening phone call to the Boston Globe.

          https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2018/08/30/california-man-arrested-charges-threatening-shoot-boston-globe-employees/EejiWXLNscUR8AxDB3y7RL/story.html

Are you really pleased to have a leader who provokes the morons to do stupid, violent things and get locked up? I could be … culls the herd of stupid, violent, morons … but that ain’t civilized.

          • Tina says:

“Making the brutalization of children federal policy?”

Please explain this obnoxious covert b’tch accusation.

“Makes the persecution of sexually ambiguous folk, aka religious bigotry, federal policy”

            Name the policy!

“Making the rich, richer and the poor, poorer a federal policy?”

            Name the policy!

(The rich got richer and the poor and middle class poorer under Obama’s socialist policies)

            “… fomenting domestic unrest?”

            Explain!

You wouldn’t be thinking about the lefty “moron” who shot republican Steve Scalise and wounded several others would you. He was motivated by the lefts ugly hateful rhetoric targeting Repubicans…or the black kids that violently attacked and shot cops and white people after Obama and Holder, along with radical groups, in Ferguson fomented hatred , anger and violence based on a damn lie?

Your party has been fomenting division, hatred, and violence for decades. You promote militant activism and the violent among you heed the call. It is your party that divides our nation into groups with grievances against other groups and calls for activism…even Antifa and the New Muslim Brotherhood are not seriously denounced and are often embraced.

          • Pie Guevara says:

So, Lippy believes that Trump is responsible for this one strange crime? Nuff said. Gee, I wonder where she comes down on the unborn infanticide averaging ~300,000 per year by Planned Parenthood or the liberal hell hole, murder city capital run by her Rat friends, Chicago? Eh?

          • Cherokee Jack says:

No, Ms. Lib, I wasn’t referring to the fairy tales and irrelevant talking points you and your comrades howl to the moon about. I meant the monumental benefits and advancements for the country, some that will last for decades. I’ll avoid specifying them for you. I’d be afraid they’d have the same painful affect on you that the morning sun has on the Count from Transylvania.

          • Chris says:

There is a straight line between telling journalists “You’re enemy of the people,” and telling journalists “You’re the enemy of the people, and we’re going to kill every last one of you.”

The caller to the Boston Globe merely followed that straight line.

  9. Peggy says:

The Democrats House of Cards are coming down. Ohr kept Weissmann informed on the anti-Trump dossier.

DOJ’S BRUCE OHR KEPT MUELLER DEPUTY ‘IN THE LOOP’ ABOUT ANTI-TRUMP DOSSIER, SOURCES SAY:

“Embattled Justice Department official Bruce Ohr had contact in 2016 with then-colleague Andrew Weissmann, who is now a top Robert Mueller deputy, as well as other senior FBI officials about the controversial anti-Trump dossier and the individuals behind it, two sources close to the matter told Fox News.

The sources said Ohr’s outreach about the dossier – as well as its author, ex-British spy Christopher Steele; the opposition research firm behind it, Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS; and his wife Nellie Ohr’s work for Fusion – occurred before and after the FBI fired Steele as a source over his media contacts. Ohr’s network of contacts on the dossier included: former FBI agent Peter Strzok; former FBI lawyer Lisa Page; former deputy director Andrew McCabe; Weissmann and at least one other DOJ official; and a current FBI agent who worked with Strzok on the Russia case.

Weissmann was kept “in the loop” on the dossier, a source said, while he was chief of the criminal fraud division. He is now assigned to Special Counsel Mueller’s team.”
