Referendum to Kill Bullet Train In the Works for 2020

Posted by Tina

I could be gone from CA by then but the rest of you Californians may get a chance to kill the wasteful Bullet Train debacle. Hot Air reports:

Backers of a November initiative to repeal the gas-tax increase said Monday they will also ask voters to approve a measure in 2020 that would provide funds to fix roads without charging Californians more at the pump, and would halt the state’s $77-billion high-speed rail project.

Roads, bridges, dams, and water storage are all high priorities for California…silly trains not so much. Well managed tax dollars could make a real difference in this state. We can vote on this initiative but wouldn’t it be a lot easier to throw the bums presently in charge out? To quote the Prez, “What have we got to lose?”

The Rat machine that runs this state is completely insane.

  2. J. Soden says:

The legacy that Moonbeam leaves behind is almost as bad as Obullsh**’s. But then, he had the willing co-operation of the Lunkhead Legislature.

Interesting factoid: “…according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American spent an average of $9,562 on food and clothing but a whopping $16,749 on federal state and local taxes.” – Investors

10K on basic needs…food and clothing and a whopping 17K on taxes.

And people wonder why young people and families find it difficult to make ends meet.

    • Joe says:

Yes, many spend more on taxes than on food and clothing and even other things combined!

And you better get ready to spend more on taxes. Have you noticed all the local bond and tax measures? The number of these is not going to stop. Just look at Oroville and here in Chico CARD and Sorensen want revenue measures.

And just wait until Gabby Nuissance gets elected governor and has a super majority of Demorats. There will be an orgy of tax increases.

No matter how much the gooberment takes, it’s never enough.

I could be gone from CA…

    Where you going?

No way Brownie’s choo-choo gets the heave ho. There are too many corrupt special interests that stand to get rich off it. And the voters in this state are absolutely brain dead. You watch, they won’t even pass Prop 6.

    • Joe says:

And speaking of Prop 6, has Postscripts endorsed Prop 6? What about Oroville’s Measure U?

      • Tina says:

If voters pass Prop 6 the gas tax increase will be gone, the car registration fee increase will be gone, and future gas tax increases will have to be approved by voters.

I reject the idea that more taxes are required to do the basic things the state should be doing and should have done. I contend that better management and the elimination of frivolous and outlandish spending is needed instead. I will vote to remove the added tax.

I can’t predict failure but I can’t predict victory on this one either. The mood in much of California seems to be shifting…just don’t know to what extent. Conservatives refuse to answer poll questions, which may explain all the polls predicting a Hillary win. I think there’s a chance that Cox will win.

        Wouldn’t that be a hoot!

Don’t know much about Oroville. Would that measure be about a proposed cannabus tax?

Not quite sure on our location yet…Wyoming and Idaho are the target areas. I’ll keep you posted, it probably won’t happen till next spring or summer.

        • Joe says:

No. Oroville’s commie mayor and city council want to increase the sales tax to 8.25%. And they want that increase permanent. They tried last election and failed and back then they were only going to make the increase for 6 years.

It’s beyond comprehension why the people of Oroville tolerate these commies. They should recall them all.

        • Joe says:

I’ll keep you posted, it probably won’t happen till next spring or summer.

You’re not going anywhere! You’re gonna stay and suffer here with the rest of us. Libby would have it no other way. 🙂
