George Sr. and the Bush Family

by Jack

Today the liberals pile on to sing praises of George Herbert Walker Bush and the Bush family, as old George was laid to rest. That’s all well and good, but it seems like only yesterday that they relentlessly mocked and insulted this former president and his family. I wonder, is it because of Trump? Do the dems yearn for the social civility and political compromises the elder and even the junior were known for? Perhaps. It’s hard to say exactly what their trip is, but I think those praises wreak of hypocrisy.

I guess if nothing else they run true to form, Jack.

Did you happen to catch the scowl on HRC’s puss? She was shooting darts in Trumps direction too. What an ungracious woman, a strong contrast to the Bush’s who are nothing if not gracious.

GWB’s eulogy was wonderful. The family definitely has a comedic streak.

The Dems love Republicans…when they’re dead.

And what a contrast between the sincere outpouring of respect for Bush 41 compared to the planned-in-advance, coreographed, pre-approved eulogies and performances that we were subjected to with McLame’s funeral . . . . . . .

  4. Chris says:

I’m not praising Bush the elder, though I can’t remember ever having very strong feelings about him either way. I was too young when he was president to have really formed an opinion, and he doesn’t seem to linger on much in the popular imagination or resentment of either part. I’ve certainly had harsher words for his son, but I’ll be respectful when he dies. I’ve been unfollowing any liberal on Twitter who has been celebrating Bush’s death–I just can’t imagine anything tackier.

As for the ones who are praising him, I do think the answer to your question here:

“I wonder, is it because of Trump? Do the dems yearn for the social civility and political compromises the elder and even the junior were known for? Perhaps.”

…is a resounding yes. And it isn’t just Dems; plenty of conservatives have also made clear they miss the baseline expectation of civility and decorum exemplified by the Bushes, as well as that of John McCain. Hopefully we’ll get that back soon, but it won’t happen as long as Trump is in office.

“Did you happen to catch the scowl on HRC’s puss? She was shooting darts in Trumps direction too. What an ungracious woman, a strong contrast to the Bush’s who are nothing if not gracious.”

If someone continually called my significant other a rapist and led chants about locking me up, I think a mean look is about the best that could be expected of me, and expecting more would be unfair.

    • Tina says:

“Do the dems yearn for the social civility and political compromises the elder and even the junior were known for? ”

      What social civility?

Democrats have been beating up on Republicans in the social realm at least since Nixon. Democrat spokespersons and activists have shown zero respect or tolerance for anyone who is pro-life or who believes that marriage is a one man/one woman contract. Democrats have never been civil toward the opposition party, in fact, their main line of attack, on even policy issues, has been the personal attack. Tax cuts advocates are racist. Presenting an idea to fix the SS program or MCare will earn the proposer a backlash about his personal desire to harm the elderly…even when the proposal keeps the current system in tact for the elderly. The left makes sure there is no room for an honest and open debate. It is a LIE that the left is broadly interested in civility!

“…we’ll get that back soon, but it won’t happen as long as Trump is in office.”

HA! The civility toward Trump has been nonexistent since he descended the escalator to announce his candidacy. The left and the left media has not shown him respect, has not been civil, and the problem for all of you, including the never Trumpers on the right, is that he fights back. He gives the left what they have consistently given to all R candidates and their supporters. It’s a big part of his popularity. We’re fed up with your party’s incivility and lack of respect! We’re fed up with your attitudes toward standard American values, as Bill Clinton expressed when he snidely remarked that he was “tired of hearing about family values.” You a$$#ol@% have fought to make standards of behavior equivalent to the rioters and agitators in the street. You have fought to define civility as agreeing with your party and it’s intolerant values. You have fought to divide, making race, gender, sex, religion, and class compartments of citizenship by status…hence white males are “toxic” as a group and “patriarchy” equals Nazism.

Your party has been the leading edge of incivility and disrespect.

“If someone continually called my significant other a rapist and led chants about locking me up…”

It took two decades for that to happen. During that time the party that claims women should be believed made fun of, discounted, and trashed his accusers. She personally intimidated them. Anyone who believed these women had significant reasons to make charges have also trashed. This, as well as her own record as Secretary of State and during the investigations into her criminal behavior, have earned her the reasonable contempt we hold.

      “…expecting more would be unfair.”

An example of the double standard your party stands upon when evaluating any situation involving the opposition. (Exception…when someone with an R sucks up to your media and refuses to fight for the principles and ideas of his party-McCain)

I’ve called Democrats a bunch of phonies. It’s an accurate description. Democrats don’t practice what they preach. They are NOT tolerant! They are not civil! They do not hold their own to the same standards…not even legally!

      • Chris says:

“Do the dems yearn for the social civility and political compromises the elder and even the junior were known for? ”

        What social civility?

Tina…it was your question. You wrote it. Now you’re asking me what it means?

        That’s really weird.

Democrats have been beating up on Republicans in the social realm at least since Nixon.

You never fail to choose the worst possible example to support your position…you wanna argue that Nixon was treated unfairly, and the left were the bad guys there? Knock yourself out.

Democrat spokespersons and activists have shown zero respect or tolerance for anyone who is pro-life or who believes that marriage is a one man/one woman contract.

When you infringe on people’s rights, like the rights to privacy and equal protection, you are not going to be met with respect and tolerance, because you are disrespectful and intolerant of others. You voted to annul the marriages of thousands of your fellow Californians no more than ten years ago. Why would you expect “respect” in return? The double standards are all yours.

Democrats have never been civil toward the opposition party, in fact, their main line of attack, on even policy issues, has been the personal attack.

Neither party has a monopoly on personal attacks. Need I remind you that you literally just compared the Democrats to the KKK for…helping old people vote.

But Trump does rely on personal attacks more frequently, and to a harsher and more unfair degree, than any other modern president. This is not deniable, unless you are in denial.

HA! The civility toward Trump has been nonexistent since he descended the escalator to announce his candidacy.

Tina, right after he descended the escalator (an incredibly stupid display to any ratonal human) he immediately started saying that most of the people coming here from Mexico are murderers and rapists. He began uncivilly. Again, you expect us to give him more respect than he has ever given us. He launched his political career by lying about having evidence that Obama wasn’t born in the U.S., after Obama had posted a legal birth certificate before he even won the presidency. Obama had never attacked Trump prior to that. Would you like me to list his unprovoked attacks on the other Republicans in the primary? Because I can, but it wouldn’t do any good; I’ve done it before, and you didn’t care, because he won. And you have to fall in line like a good little soldier. Actual principled Republicans didn’t do that, so you don’t listen to them anymore.

The left and the left media has not shown him respect, has not been civil, and the problem for all of you, including the never Trumpers on the right, is that he fights back.

Again: No, he starts the fight, and then he fights like a spoiled child. He is a weak person’s idea of what a strong person is, and only a weak person could consider him strong.

He gives the left what they have consistently given to all R candidates and their supporters.

This is simply a lie. No Democrat president has ever publicly behaved like Trump, and you know it. Obama certainly never did. You. Know. This.

It’s a big part of his popularity. We’re fed up with your party’s incivility and lack of respect!

But you do not oppose incivility and lack of respect as a general principal, otherwise you wouldn’t have voted for Trump, who was uncivil and disrespectful even to fellow Republicans.

You have fought to divide, making race, gender, sex, religion, and class compartments of citizenship by status…

The president you elected literally campaigned on not allowing immigrants in the country if they belonged to a certain religion. He was an open misogynist who insulted the looks of Carly Fiorina and Heidi Cruz, and said Megyn Kelly asked him a tough question because she was on her period. He banned trans people from the military against the wishes of the Pentagon.

Again, you do not oppose dividing people based on race, gender, and religion on principle, or you would not have voted for Trump.

hence white males are “toxic” as a group and “patriarchy” equals Nazism.

Who says this? No Democratic congressman or president. You are comparing the words of far left activists to…the President of the United States. Again: Double standard: Yours.

An example of the double standard your party stands upon when evaluating any situation involving the opposition.

Bull. A double standard would be if I criticized Trump for a mean look toward Hillary, rather than his uncivil rhetoric. You know. The exact thing that you’re doing.

        • Chris says:

Sorry, my mistake. I see now that Jack wrote that question, not you, Tina.

Still, think about this: Trump is drawing praise from some parts of the right and left for behaving himself well at Bush’s funeral, not causing a scene, and not badmouthing him. Would anyone have ever even commented on such a thing under any president? Of course not. And it’s because the standard for Trump is so low, because that’s where he’s set the bar, and everyone knows it. Trump ran as an unusually uncivil candidate and has governed as an unusually uncivil president. This is a fact. That you can point to individual examples of other politicians, on the left and the right, being uncivil before and even during the Trump administration can’t change that, and no discussion of civility in politics can be held in earnest without acknowledging and centering that fact.

          • Tina says:

I don’t care that Trump is sometimes rude or crude. I don’t care because your party’s spokespersons, including celebrities, media, protesters, etc., do not hold your own to account for the same behaviors. Att the same time they pile on to the latest accusations of “x-ism” in order to sell the accusation. There is no interest in reality…they want to create “reality”..a negative reality when it a Rep a positive reality when it’s a Dem. You (your party) make snap judgements and never go back. These judgements are based on a few words…deeds, policy, and the way Trump actually treats people are completely ignored…they make your accusations seem shallow and silly…and they are.

          • Chris says:

I don’t care that Trump is sometimes rude or crude.

            I know you don’t.

I don’t care because your party’s spokespersons, including celebrities, media, protesters, etc., do not hold your own to account for the same behaviors.

Ridiculous. My side’s politicians do not engage in the same behaviors as Trump. Nor do most of your side’s. You know this, which is the only reason you are lumping them in with “celebrities,” who have always been ruder and cruder than politicians, in order to rig the game.

I don’t know why you always seem to think I won’t call you out for this type of rhetorical cheating.

These judgements are based on a few words…deeds, policy, and the way Trump actually treats people are completely ignored…

The way Trump treats people is terrible. This is from today:

            https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump

If any Democrat tweeted like that you’d have their head.

Trump’s poor treatment of others is literally one the main objections against him. You would never accept this kind of treatment from a Democrat. The difference between us is that neither would I.

        • Tina says:

I was not defending Nixon but merely marking the time when most of us were old enough to vote. I was in my early twenties. I choose Nixon’s impeachment as a time marker, the beginning of growing incivility in this nation.

“When you infringe on people’s rights”

That sword cuts both ways. Your party is constantly infringing on people’s rights or attempting to. The progressive tax code is an infringement on rights. Gun laws are infringements on rights. Gender bathroom laws are an infringement on rights. Preferences by race is an infringement on rights. Abortion is an infringement on the rights of the unborn. Mandated healthcare taxes are an infringement on rights. When the people speak, as we did regarding marriage with prop 8 in CA you used the courts to reverse the vote of the people…an infringement on their rights as citizens and voters.

Disagreement isn’t hate but you insist it is.

Disagreement isn’t racist but you insist it is.

You do not respect the opposition; you do not respect the voters. Trump was not even inaugurated and your party leadership was calling for his impeachment.

“No Democrat president has ever publicly behaved like Trump”

Of course not…they aren’t as honest or forthright. They are covert…and nasty.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in a 2010 interview with journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann in which he said that Barack Obama would be successful in his Presidential thanks to being “light-skinned” and speaking “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

Former South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian referring to Gov. Nikki Haley’s Indian parents and heritage, “In about 18 months from now, hopefully [Gubernatorial candidate Sen. Vincent Sheheen] will have sent Nikki Haley back to wherever the hell she came from and this country can move forward.”

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel when taking a question from Robin Gandhi, an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska and a man of Indian descent:
“You’re not a member of the Taliban, are you?”

Vice President Joe Biden talking about the entrepreneurial immigrants that enter our country and run 7-11’s and Dunkin Donuts: “You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking!”

Al Sharpton reminded us how white people lived in caves and Greek people were all gay: “White folks was in the caves while we [blacks] was building empires … We built pyramids before Donald Trump ever knew what architecture was … we taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.”

Former President Bill Clinton about candidate Obama (2008): “A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee”

Obama in debates with McCain: “John, you are absolutely right, presidents have to be prudent about what they say. But coming from you, who in the past have threatened extinction for North Korea and sung songs about bombing Iran, I don’t know how credible that is.”

During a debate in March over a bill to ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat was detected, Alabama State Rep. Alvin Holmes claimed white Republicans would be fine with aborting mixed-race grandchildren.

New York Rep. Charlie Rangel claimed the Tea Party was made up of “ mean, racist people.” … “Now why do I say that? Because in those red states, they’re the same slave-holding states. They had the Confederate flag. They became Dixiecrats; they had the Confederate flag. They’re now the Tea Party; they still got the Confederate [flag]. I don’t think that’s a coincidence,” Rangel said.

Rep. Jeff Roorda, D-Barnhart, suggested his opponent, Rehder, was following the example of the Nazis in the lead-up to World War II. Roorda read a quotation from Martin Niemoller that includes the famous line: “Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a Jew.” … “Who are you coming after next, lady?” Roorda said to Rehder after reading the quotation.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn’s campaign tweeted and retweeted a link to a Chicago Sun-Times column from Neil Steinberg that compared black Republicans to Jews who helped the Nazis. “As a general rule, individuals will sell out the interests of their groups in return for personal benefit,” Steinberg said. “It isn’t just a black thing. Jews collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, helping them to round up their own people in the hopes they’d be the last to go.”

South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Jay Stamper: “Ironic but what would the GOP do w/out African Americans? Racism seems to be the one thing they rely on to hold their party together,”…a tweet that was eventually deleted.

Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson decided to rehash the old claim that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was an “ Uncle Tom.” … “It’s almost to the point saying this man doesn’t like black people, he doesn’t like being black,” Thompson added. … Thompson also claimed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was “racist” for not supporting Obamacare.

New Jersey city council chairwoman and mayoral candidate Marie Strumolo Burke, in an undated audio recording obtained by NJ.com, is heard saying her town is descending into a “F—ing n—– town.” Strumolo Burke was apparently unhappy with changes to the city’s tax code. Not sure how tax code = racism but that’s what she said.

State Rep. Brett Hulsey, who’s running for governor in Wisconsin, told supporters in early May that he was going to hand out KKK hoods at the Republican state convention.

In 2005 Hillary said, “I am adamantly against illegal immigrants.” As a Senator she voted to construct a wall between the US and Mexico. In November of 2015, Hillary called people in this country illegally “illegal aliens.” (She was not labeled racist)

Diane Watson (Dem State Senator, CA) said about Ward Connerly in 1996: “He’s married to a white woman. He wants to be white. He wants a colorless society. He has no ethnic pride. He doesn’t want to be black.”

The media doesn’t make these remarks front page news. In fact they often barely mention them. They are explained away.

There is a double standard. Democrats get away with it every time…they make an excuse and all is forgiven.

If all politicians were held to the same standard this problem of incivility would soon go away. But the main stream media, working without competition for decades, always favored and protected Democrats after Nixon. Its a fact.

You will never see civility again unless your party is held accountable for it’s lack of civility, intolerance, disrespect…and criminality! When people like you refuse to see the double standard you’re part of the problem.

          • Chris says:

There is no way I am responding to that whole list of quotes. I’ve done it before, and it didn’t do any good. You have conflated several legitimately awful statements with others you’ve taken out of context, you’ve conflated party leaders with unserious pundits, and you’ve conflated racist statements with statements criticizing racism. This is not serious criticism.

Many of those people said dumb or hateful things. Unlike Trump, they do not say dumb or hateful things nearly every damn day. Trump is uniquely awful and uniquely stupid. This is not a right vs. left issue–he is uniquely awful and uniquely stupid even when only compared to other Republicans.

That sword cuts both ways. Your party is constantly infringing on people’s rights or attempting to. The progressive tax code is an infringement on rights.

            Ridiculous. Cite precedent.

Gun laws are infringements on rights.

            Some, yes. I agree.

Gender bathroom laws are an infringement on rights.

No. Ridiculous. What right? In what way? Cite precedent.

Preferences by race is an infringement on rights.

            Yes, I agree.

Abortion is an infringement on the rights of the unborn.

A human with no ability to think or feel does not have rights that supersede those of a thinking and feeling human.

Mandated healthcare taxes are an infringement on rights.

            No.

When the people speak, as we did regarding marriage with prop 8 in CA you used the courts to reverse the vote of the people…an infringement on their rights as citizens and voters.

No. Same-sex marriage is protected by the equal protection clause. Voters do not have the right to infringe on the constitutional rights of others. That’s the tyranny of the majority you always talk about but don’t actually believe in.

Trump was not even inaugurated and your party leadership was calling for his impeachment.

Ok. And? They haven’t acted on it. And when they do, it will certainly be justified as the past few weeks have shown. We know have the DOJ on record saying that Trump directed his lawyer to commit a felony. In addition to that felonious, corrupt, and abusive lawyer, Trump staffed his campaign with other criminals, money launderers, liars, and unregistered foreign agents, because he is some combination of the above.

            Again, you know this.

Of course not…they aren’t as honest or forthright. They are covert…and nasty.

Trump is not “honest.” He lies every day. You just like his lies, and they match your own.

  5. Libby says:

It’s all context, Jack. Only The Donald could make The Shrub look good.

And I too am having trouble with the fulsome praise of H.W. Granting that he was a brave and kind man, he still spent a good deal of his life fomenting and profiting from an economic reality that is not kind, at all. It’s a problem.

    • Tina says:

“…spent a good deal of his life fomenting and profiting from an economic reality that is not kind”

Name them…and then defend the accusation!!!

      • Libby says:

Well … how about when, as usual, your working stiff of a Kia driver pays more of a tax than a Tesla driver?

Are you truly dim, Tina … or are you just pretending.

        • Tina says:

Read my reply again Libby. Your Kia driver probably doesn’t pay income tax. He might receive money instead! He probably pays no investment taxes either…if he does it’s at the same rate. He likely pays a lot less into the SS and MCARE programs. His abode is either covered by the owner (he rents) or is a lot less than the Tesla driver whose gated community Manse will cost him a bundle!

That’s not to say that the Kia driver is not facing a big challenge. But his challenges are his own. He will have to struggle mightily and work hard to climb the ladder and prepare for his latter years. But he has a hell of a lot better chance when the private sector GDP and Jobs growers are allowed to keep and invest their money. Under your preferred system of gross over taxation nobody BUT THE RICH can thrive!

And the good part for you? Under a system of lower tax rates and smaller government you and your little commie friends can still form a commune, pool your resources, and play the silly game of “fair.”

The tax rates for growth and prosperity concept is very simple. If you cannot grasp it you are a very dim bulb indeed,Libby.

  6. Libby says:

Off Topic … and, Oh, Mommy !!

    Pertinently:

“Under the Obama administration, the US indicted Chinese personnel on similar charges, but was reluctant to take more drastic action such as arresting the individuals in third countries, over fear that Beijing would retaliate against US interests in China or in other countries,” Eurasia Group political risk analysts wrote in a note.
Meng’s arrest “suggests that the gloves are now fully off in this arena,” the analysts said.

    Show of hands:

How many of you truly believe that the TA is competent to bring this off to our advantage? This is what comes of preferring a bloviating arrogance to a measured intellect. And any number of American CEOs abroad, now shopping personal security and/or an exit strategy, thank you a whole bunch.

    • Tina says:

“‘“Under the Obama administration, the US indicted Chinese personnel on similar charges, but was reluctant to take more drastic action’… How many of you truly believe that the TA is competent to bring this off to our advantage? ”

      Newsflash!

The Canadians arrested her so it has to be assumed that the Trump administration has some level of international support.

If extradited to New York she would (reportedly) face federal charges of violating Iran sanctions.

      “measured intellect”

Like Obama and his crew of criminals? I guess it’s possible if you consider selling American uranium to the Russians, secretly giving Iran big piles if cash, killing the economy for eight years +, or weaponizing government against citizens, journalists, and political opponents as examples of “measured intellect.”

      • Libby says:

I wish you could keep to the subject at hand. And trust the NYT to cut to the chase:

        https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/06/us/politics/huawei-meng-china-iran.html

        Pertinently:

“At dinner with China’s president, Xi Jinping, on Saturday night in Buenos Aires, President Trump celebrated their “special” relationship ….”

“Seven thousand miles away, unbeknown to both leaders, Canadian police acting at the request of the United States were in the process of detaining Meng Wanzhou, a top executive of one of China’s flagship technology firms, as she changed planes in Vancouver.”
        ….
“The timing of the arrest, some experts said, could feed the suspicion of Chinese officials that nationalist factions in the Trump administration were trying to sabotage the trade deal. Their mood had already soured since Saturday, when the White House announced the two sides had agreed to 90 days of talks, ….”

So … we ask ourselves … who ordered this arrest?

        • Tina says:

Contrary to your ignorant assumption, the DOJ (and the Canadians) don’t have to ask “mother may I?” before acting in these matters.

If you had a charitable bone in your body you might actually credit the President for leaving legal business to those in charge.

It may indeed have an impact on talks but it would be wise to wait before making outrageous assumptions.

    • Tina says:

      “over fear that Beijing ”

      You could have stopped there.

Dems are always afraid of making our enemies/competitors mad.

  7. Chris says:

I guess it’s possible if you consider selling American uranium to the Russians,

Explain, in your own words, why you think this is bad. Come on, it’ll be funny.

secretly giving Iran big piles if cash,

You left out the words back and their own.

killing the economy for eight years +,

A lie. Job growth rose faster under Obama than it is under Trump, and unemployment fell faster. You know this, you just don’t care. You plugged your ears and went “LA LA LA” to positive economic news for six years under Obama, and now that Trump’s numbers are following the exact same trends, you think Tariff Man is the cause of it. Amazing. You can’t cure that kind of stupidity.

or weaponizing government against citizens, journalists, and political opponents as examples of “measured intellect.

I am not going to argue that Obama did not do that. But Trump does it more, and you are not going to argue against that, because you cannot.

But since you brought up weaponizing government against journalists, what do you think of Trump’s handling of Saudi Arabia’s murder of Khashoggi?

    • Tina says:

I’m not one of your students Chris. You either care to be informed fully or you do not.

Answer this for yourself: Why would it be in America’s security interests to sell uranium to Russia?

The Hill, “FBI uncovered Russian bribery plot before Obama administration approved controversial nuclear deal with Moscow”

National Review, “The Obama Administration’s Uranium One Scandal”

Western Journal, “Report: FBI Holding Onto 37 Pages of Potentially Key Uranium One Deal Documents”

    • Tina says:

“Job growth rose faster under Obama than it is under Trump”

Obama’s jobs were part time low wage jobs and his unemployment numbers were a ruse that failed to count the people that had simply given up looking for employment. He killed off manufacturing rather than working to improve it. He shut down large chunks of the energy sector. A lot of good paying jobs were lost. He averaged 2% GDP over his entire presidency, wages remained stagnant and the rich continued to get rich thanks to QE but most weren’t investing in the future…too risky. That low level of growth and stagnation was felt as a depression for far too many Americans.

“Trump’s numbers are following the exact same trends”

No they are not. The stock market is following a trend, every ten years we have a recession. We’re just about there. Bubbles continue to form. They have nothing to do with Trump’s policies. They include: Private sector credit debt, student loan debt, another possible housing (and car) loan debt problem (same reason, began during Obama’s term), and our all time favorite…government debt…due to spending. Congress thinks it has a bottomless pit filed with money.

      “Trump does it more”

Please name the examples of Trump using the government against citizens or his political opponent.

“what do you think of Trump’s handling of Saudi Arabia’s murder of Khashoggi?”

It was appropriate. He placed his remarks in the context of ME relations and said of the death specifically:

The crime against Jamal Khashoggi was a terrible one, and one that our country does not condone. Indeed, we have taken strong action against those already known to have participated in the murder. After great independent research, we now know many details of this horrible crime. We have already sanctioned 17 Saudis known to have been involved in the murder of Mr Khashoggi, and the disposal of his body.

Representatives of Saudi Arabia say that Jamal Khashoggi was an “enemy of the state” and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, but my decision is in no way based on that – this is an unacceptable and horrible crime. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman vigorously deny any knowledge of the planning or execution of the murder of Mr Khashoggi. Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!

That being said, we may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr Jamal Khashoggi. In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have been a great ally in our very important fight against Iran. The United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region. It is our paramount goal to fully eliminate the threat of terrorism throughout the world!

Obama’s jobs were part time low wage jobs

Most jobs created under Obama were not part time low wage jobs. This is a false right-wing talking point.

        https://www.politifact.com/virginia/statements/2013/oct/18/ken-cuccinelli/cuccinelli-says-most-new-jobs-have-been-part-time-/

and his unemployment numbers were a ruse that failed to count the people that had simply given up looking for employment.

Those who gave up looking for work were of course included under the U-5 rate, which is a government number. They were not included under the U-3 rate. The same is true under Trump.

So that’s another meaningless talking point.

He averaged 2% GDP over his entire presidency,

Trump’s average is not much higher, and follows the trend of rising GDP under Obama. Trump has not topped Obama’s best quarter.

        wages remained stagnant

        Wages are still stagnant.

“Trump’s numbers are following the exact same trends”

        No they are not.

Yes, they are. Show me a graph that says otherwise. You won’t find one.

Please name the examples of Trump using the government against citizens or his political opponent.

Tina, he has twice lost lawsuits against him for trying to silence others’ speech on first amendment grounds. One of these losses was in the past couple of months. He routinely calls journalists who report negative stories about him “the enemy of the people,” leading to threats of violence against journalists. This is not an accident; “enemy of the people” is what governments call people to justify killing them.

        It was appropriate.

        My god.

Our own intelligence agencies have confirmed that MbS was responsible. Despite this, Trump parroted his denial, just as he did when Putin denied meddling in our election:

King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman vigorously deny any knowledge of the planning or execution of the murder of Mr Khashoggi. Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!

If Obama had made a statement like this, beginning with the stupidly vague sentence “The world is a very dangerous place!” you would have thrown a fit. But you won’t now. Because, like Trump, you’re a liar and coward.
