Virginia Proposses Strict Gun Control

by Jack

In case you missed it: Virginia has gone completely Democrat. The last election ushered in a partisan shift of the state government that has left the House of Delegates, the Senate and the governor’s office in Democrats’ power — a leftist hold on the commonwealth that hasn’t been seen for decades.   Could this be the start of something revolutionary?

‘Second Amendment Sanctuary’ Movement Grows in Virginia as Democrats Ready Gun Control Measures

Dozens of counties in Virginia have declared themselves ‘Second Amendment sanctuaries’ ahead of the 2020 legislative session in which Democrats will hold the majority.

Currently VA is mulling over using the National Guard to enforce upcoming gun control laws.  If they do that I guarantee a violent reaction.

Ironically the 2nd amendment had its origins in VA and our revolutionary war and now this state, under the control of liberal democrats, is obsessing over more gun control laws.

Currently in the Senate is SB64…

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 18.2-433.2 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 18.2-433.2. Paramilitary activity prohibited; penalty.

A person shall be is guilty of unlawful paramilitary activity, punishable as a Class 5 felony if he:

1. Teaches or demonstrates to any other person the use, application, or making of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, knowing or having reason to know or intending that such training will be employed for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or

2. Assembles with one or more persons for the purpose of training with, practicing with, or being instructed in the use of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, intending to employ such training for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or

3. Assembles with one or more persons with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons by drilling, parading, or marching with any firearm, any explosive or incendiary device, or any components or combination thereof.

(CNSNews.com) — A bill being pushed by Democrats in the Virginia legislature would make it a Class 1 misdemeanor to carry, buy, sell, import or transfer firearm magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. House Delegate Kathy Tran (D-Va.) is the primary sponsor of the legislation, and she also supports a ban on semi-automatic rifles, such as the AR-15.

In the November election, Democrats won control over the Virginia House and Senate, which they will assume in January; Ralph Northam, a liberal Democrat, is the governor of Virginia.

The bill, HB2492, would prohibit a person from carrying a gun with a magazine that could hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition in a public space in Virginia; a similar bill has been introduced in the Virginia Senate (SB1748). According to the House bill, the only exception to this rule would be for firearms used by law enforcement officers.

The summary of the proposed law states, “Prohibits any person from importing, selling, bartering, or transferring a firearms magazine designed to hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. A violation is a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Delegate Tran, who was endorsed by the Pride Fund to End Gun Violence, said she is “fighting to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, domestic abusers and those with severe mental illnesses.”

“Tran pushes for universal background checks to close the loopholes for sales of firearms at gun shows and over the Internet, and fights to restore Virginia’s ‘One-Handgun-a-Month’ rule to combat gun-running,” states her official website.

However, pro-gun groups, say measures like this will make citizens less safe, and believe that people in the United States need weapons with high magazine capacity to protect themselves.

“A magazine ban is unconstitutional, according to the U.S. and state constitutions,” Erich Pratt, senior vice president of Gun Owners of America said. “It will not keep criminals from acquiring them, but it will make citizens less safe.”

According to Pratt, there are many cases in which criminals have intruded into people’s houses but because the homeowner had a gun with a higher capacity magazine, they were better able to defend their homes and their families.

Pratt also noted the August shooting in Dayton, Ohio, which took six policemen firing 58 rounds to take down the gunman who was wearing a bulletproof vest.

“If it takes that much lead from six well-trained officers to stop an attacker,” Prat added, “Why should we think that average citizens need less than 10 rounds?

    Joe Biden campaign add.

Seriously, Joe? And when President Trump is reelected, just what do you have in mind?

The Senate needs to vote on the impeachment forthwith, and then light a match to it. If they don’t, American politics as we know it is over.

    Got ammo?

Incredible. History will not look kindly on Obama and his socialist, racist cabal. The truth will come to the fore. What a lousy shame. He had the potential, but lacked the grounding, to do great things. Blown opportunity…scandalous.

You gotta hand it to the DemoNRats…when it comes to corruption they never give up…they relentlessly undertake corrupt schemes from every angle possible.

Pollard, in an email, offers an explanation, to wit: “In one of my confrontations with Goggin, he said, ‘Somebody is going to make money off of everything we do up here, and it might as well be our friends.’ He also tried once to hire me to get me off his back.”

How can anyone say Sucramento is not a cesspool of corruption?

    • Joe says:

F’ing Corruptocrats…society would be so much better off if these bastards were never born.

During his legislative career, Goggin had been very close to Willie Brown, who was speaker of the Assembly during the 1980s and 1990s before becoming mayor of San Francisco in 1996.

After Brown became mayor, Goggin moved to San Francisco to practice law and lobby city government. In 2004, Goggin and ex-Mayor Brown teamed up to propose a multi-million-dollar lobbying campaign for the state’s bullet train project.
