Give Appeasement a Try and other Famous Last Words…

by Jack

Right now, the mobs are having their way, toppling historic statues, vandalizing and fire bombing public buildings.  They have taken over entire city blocks of Seattle,  illegally seized private property, looted stores and even seized a police station and done millions of dollars in damage.  And this is but a fraction of carnage foisted on the public by zealot anarchists to zealot Marxists, all hiding behind the pretext of being a simple protester, a social justice warrior, just exercising their right to free speech.

Liberal-democrat mayors and governors own this problem,  because they helped create it.  It was their leftist rhetoric and their policy decisions (sanctuary cities) that set the stage for this violence.  But, now that its here – they have absolutely no idea how to control it.

In democrat dominated cities across America, the anarchy spreads.  And not surprisingly, the response from the liberal regimes in those afflicted areas is always the same;  restrain law enforcement, take no action, better yet… take a knee.  Agree with and appease the anarchists and rioters whenever possible.  Ask them nicely to end their violence, looting and burning, so some day they might all sit down and have a meaningful dialog.

So far, that hasn’t worked.  But, as Portland’s mayor says, give it some time, the rioting has only been going on for 56 days and Rome wasn’t burned in a day!   At the present time, both the mayor of Portland and the governor of Oregon, see no need federal law enforcement to step in to protect federal property, like the federal court building in Portland under siege and attacked with sledge hammers, fire bombs, rocks and bottles as the mob chants, “Burn it down!”

The party of hate has no bounds. Now, it has real blood on its hands.

Black Trump Supporter Fatally Shot In Wis.:

“GOP officials in Wisconsin voiced their outrage after a black man, who was well known to his community as a strong supporter of the president, was killed in broad daylight.

The party issued a statement Friday regarding the murder of 60-year-old Bernell Trammell, who was fatally shot outside of his publishing company the day before.

“We saw the cops pull up, the vans, ambulance, firefighters. We sat and watched. They gave CPR for about 15 to 20 minutes.” – Taylen Pulley, resident

Trammell reportedly spent the weeks leading up to the attack advocating for President Trump’s reelection.”

If you missed Louie Gohmert’s speech on the House floor, it’s worth watching.

That’s horrible, Peggy. Is there evidence that the shooting was politically motivated?

Also, if this means the Democratic party has blood on its hands, does the fact that every politically motivated killing in the US in 2018 was committed by a member of the far right mean that the Republican party has blood on its hands?

Whoops, wrong link in my response to Peggy. Meant to post this one:

Gohmert’s fake bill is an embarrassing political stunt and shows how little he is doing for our country during a pandemic. It is also historically ignorant. Again, it is Republicans, not Democrats, who today have a more favorable view of the Confederacy and who fight to preserve flags and memorials that glorify the Confederacy. The majority of people of color vote Democratic. The alt-right, not the alt-left, argues for strict immigration restrictions on the explicit basis that America should remain a majority-white nation. These facts are inexplicable without taking into account the Southern Realignment in the 60s and 70s. I know this because you’ve never been able to provide an alternate explanation for them, nor has anyone else on this blog. The Southern Realignment happened, it has been well-documented by historians, and the Democratic party and the Republican party today are not at all what they were in 1860. It is ridiculous to pretend otherwise.

  2. Chris says:

    Huh. Is this appeasement?

A good way for the police to stop the anti-police brutality protests? Stop committing police brutality against protesters. But unfortunately, “The beatings will continue until morale improves” seems to be the federal line here.

    • Chris says:

In this case the protester was clearly in the wrong and the officers looked like they used no more than appropriate force to get her out of their way. If only all cases were so easy.

This is for the resident Wokester…

    The Insane Leading the Blind

On our way to becoming a nation of hobos, the Democratic Party’s Antifa shock troops brought out the lethal weapons this weekend, hoping to provoke a Kent State 2.0 type bloodbath that would clinch the election for the mummified remains of Joe Biden, currently reposing in his basement sepulcher. How’d that work out?

In Louisville, Saturday, just after lunchtime, the self-styled Not Fucking Around Coalition (NFAC) was mustering for action and “inspecting firearms” (according to NFAC comandante Grand Master Jay) when one of said weapons accidently discharged and mowed down three NFAC warriors — nicely demonstrating the hazards of fucking around with loaded weapons.

In Austin Saturday night, one feckless BLM mob marcher name of Garrett Foster brought his AK-47 to the street party. When he pointed it at a motorist trapped by the crowd, he got blown away to that great struggle session in the sky, the surprise of his life, I’m sure.

In Portland, OR, police found a bag of loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails in the nearby park that serves as the rioters’ marshaling yard. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler did not attend the evening’s frolics at the sore beset federal courthouse, having successfully subjected himself to ritual humiliation himself a few nights earlier. After midnight Sunday, police declared the Antifa actions “a riot” and made a few arrests.

Up Seattle way, a federal judge struck down the city council’s order against police using tear gas and pepper spray on rioters just in time for another weekend of rioting. SPD Chief Carmen Best declared, “In the spirit of offering trust and full transparency, I want to advise you that SPD officers will be carrying pepper spray and blast balls today, as would be typical for events that carry potential to include violence.” Hours later, after smashing the windows of ground-floor businesses, setting fire to a construction site, and trashing the SPD’s East Precinct building, pepper spray and blast balls were deployed and forty-five Antifas were arrested (on rioting, assault, and other charges), while twenty-one SPD officers were injured.

Down in LA, Antifas broke into the federal Bureau of Prisons Detention Center. In Richmond, VA, rioters set fire to a city dump truck used as a barrier to protect a police station.

So it goes in the insurrection summer of 2020. The nation’s attention is averted from the real action taking place as the economy continues to implode and the US dollar slides on the Forex market — meaning that not only is business failing everywhere, and livelihoods extinguished, but the medium-of-exchange that represents all transactions by any remaining business is accelerating its decline toward the target value: zero. This is unfortunately what comes of the fiscal profligacy prompted by the corona virus crisis, with the Senate poised to introduce another $1 trillion in an emergency assistance spending bill that would reimburse 70 percent of unemployed workers’ lost wages. Over on the House side, Speaker Nancy Pelosi upped the ante to $3 trillion in emergency spending, designed to crater the dollar even faster and, theoretically, assure a Democratic party victory on November 3 (to govern the smoldering cinder that will be left of the USA).

The counterforce to that lethal inflation is the choking off of capital flows from the tens of millions of mortgages, car loans, and myriad other obligations that can’t possibly be paid in August, September, and October. These tributaries flow into the larger rivers of capital, and when they dry up the entire global banking order may keel over, with those fabled financial weapons of mass destruction, the derivatives, triggering an orgy of counterparty insolvency. When capital stops flowing, you see, money doesn’t just sit there, it vanishes. The question is: can it disappear faster than fiscal policy-gone-wild can summon fresh money into existence. I guess we’ll find out.

The world has gone broke before — the Dark Ages, the Plague Years, the Thirty Years’ War, the Great Depression — but never broke like this, or this badly, or had so many people in it who were going to suffer from being broke. The Antifas on the streets of Portland, Seattle, and elsewhere probably don’t have collateralized loan obligations and other financial esoterica on their minds, but these things lurk somewhere in the collective subconscious behind the nihilism they’ve fallen into these brutal dog days of summer as the insane lead the blind.

    • Joe says:

NFAC. Maybe coming to a city near you. As if Antifa isn’t bad enough.

      https://kunstler.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/NFAC.jpg

    • Chris says:

Why do you post things specifically for me without fact-checking them? Have you learned nothing?

In Austin Saturday night, one feckless BLM mob marcher name of Garrett Foster brought his AK-47 to the street party. When he pointed it at a motorist trapped by the crowd, he got blown away to that great struggle session in the sky, the surprise of his life, I’m sure.

There is no evidence that Garret Foster “pointed” his weapon at the motorist who shot him other than the shooter’s testimony.

      https://nypost.com/2020/07/27/man-who-killed-texas-protester-garrett-foster-sprung-from-jail/

Foster was an Air Force vet who was exercising his second amendment rights in an open carry state. But to you the fact that he was protesting for a cause you disagree with overrides all of that. Witnesses say the driver initiated the confrontation and was driving through the crowd. It isn’t clear who the aggressor was here but it is clear you’ve made up your mind based on nothing but the political affiliations of the two men. Disgraceful.

      • Joe says:

The Austin police have interviewed the shooter and let him go. And they have not brought charges.

        • Chris says:

Ah. Well since the government always does the right thing, I’m sure that’s the last we’ll hear of it.

          • Joe says:

We could always defund the police and let NFAC take care of it…I understand they are quite good with weapons.

          • Joe says:

And what are you so angry about?

Your team is winning big time. Your homies in BLM, Antifa, NFAC are all on a roll…bigly…as Orange Man bad would say.

They are quite literally lighting up the town…all over the place. And Uncle Joe has a huge lead. When he wins BLM, Antifa and NFAC will be able to loot, riot and spread the rest of their mayhem even more.

Rejoice! As the author states we are well on our way to becoming a nation of hobos.

          • Chris says:

I can’t be angry about protesters being beaten by police and killed by drivers because Joe Biden is up in the polls? This makes sense to you?

Biden is a calm, sensible moderate. He will handle the unrest in this country much better than Trump, who fans the flames of division every single day in this country.

          • Post Scripts says:

Chris is calm the same as comatose? If so, that would be Biden… he’s very calm… all the time, uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh… lol

          • Joe says:

Biden is little more than a stalking horse.

And you don’t give a rat’s @ss about the violence. For instance, if you really believe black lives matter you would say something about the black on black violence accounts for the vast majority of black violence by death. Blacks have a much higher chance of being killed by other blacks than by the police.

          • Chris says:

People want some peace and quiet, Jack. They want a president who they don’t have to think about every day. Today the president suggested delaying the election, something that has never happened in the history of our country. Today Herman Cain died because he followed Trump’s advice and didn’t mask up at a campaign rally that never should have happened. This chaos must stop.

          • Post Scripts says:

Chris, sadly Herm Cain was a victim of a virus that he could have contracted at an infinite number of places, but to focus specifically on one place, at one time, and then blame it on Trump is not rational, but it is political. There is simply no evidence to back that claim up.

Now on a personal level I’m an advocate for wearing a face mask in public where I’m close to others. I made an adult decision for myself based on the information available to me, not so much because I am afraid, but because I don’t want to cause fear in others. Out of an abundance of caution I also want to do my part in whatever way possible to limit the spread of COVIDs. Everyone is entitled to make their own choice, this is a free country, some may choose not to wear a mask, but its their call for what is right for them.

If it were up to me, I would open this country up tomorrow and take what comes. At risk people can hunker down, their choice. For those others who are not at risk, but want to stay in lock down anyway, I wish them all the best, but I don’t think they deserve any bailout money for doing it. For the rest of us, people know the risks and they must make a decision that is right for them and their circumstances. I will not block them from their choice or do anything to prevent them from returning to school or work. I realize if we don’t, the consequences are going to be far worse than this virus.

          • Joe says:

You’re just angry because Uncle Joe can’t do as well as Trump on the MoCA test. Heck, I bet you can’t do as well as Trump.

          • Chris says:

Jack, Herman Cain may not have contracted the virus at the rally, but he boasted about attending the rally maskless as a way to spite liberals and others who believe the science on Covid. So even if he did not contract it at the rally, his general lackadaisical response was clearly in line with the narrative on the right that this is no big deal and everyone should just do what they want. I am so sick of seeing people on Facebook insist that this is all a hoax and that masks are useless. To your credit and the credit of the others on this blog, I have not seen that kind of talk here and that makes me happy as I do care about your health.

Cain’s death is a tragedy and I am by no means implying that he deserved his fate. I feel for him and his family and I deeply wish he had followed recommendations.

I am happy to hear that you are masking up when you go out.

          • Post Scripts says:

I wished the media had talked just a little more about Mr. Cain’s life when he passed, because he set an exemplary standard for black kids to follow. He was a million times more appropriate a role model than Floyd George who got a send off like he was a national hero.

      • Joe says:

So you do identify as the resident wokester! Or should that be wokey?

  5. Peggy says:

The poor people of Seattle. While the mayor says the protesters are peaceful, the police chief says residents are on their own to protect themselves from rioters.
