California Politics: Republican Vidak Wins Senate Seat with 60% of Hispanic Vote

Posted by Tina

Who says Hispanics won’t vote Republican? Scheming Democrats do, mostly. But I don’t think anyone’s vote is set in stone and loyalty goes only so far when a family is struggling to make ends meet. Today they don’t care about labels, posturing, or promises that sound good but never materialize…they just want results!

The people of the Central Valley have endured unemployment rates of 15-30% caused by a lengthy, non-recovery, recovery and the forced water shortages that caused farmers to fold. After almost five years of suffering they are fed up and have now placed their hopes in Republican Andy Vidak, a local farmer. Vidak ran a campaign against the elitist coastal environmentalists that tend to favor fish bait over produce and think grand schemes like the fancy pants bullet train to nowhere is the highest priority when people need jobs.

People are pretty basic. Republicans should turn away from politicking and spend more time simply speaking to the people.

Breitbart has the story.

This Weeks Best Joke

When Obama died, George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, “How dare you try to destroy the Nation I helped conceive?”

Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted, “You wanted to end our liberties but you failed.”

James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said, “This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!”

Thomas Jefferson was next, he beat Obama with a long cane and snarled, “It was evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence.”

The beatings and thrashings continued as James Monroe and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the radical socialist leader.

As Obama lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared. Obama wept and said, “This is not what you promised me.”

The Angel replied, “I told you there would be 72 VIRGINIANS waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?

SPECIAL REPORT – “If something can’t last – it will stop”

by Jack Lee

If something can’t last – it will stop. Who doesn’t understand that?   Well, we have a welfare state that spends more than it takes in, that can’t last… and it will stop.  Hardly news to our post scripts readers.  This is a train wreck just waiting to happen and it will…there’s no doubt about it.

We’ve created mega-institutions within government that we call entitlement programs and as our empire starts to collapse, (first signs will be cities going into bankruptcy and states with deficits) then we’ll be forced to start chipping away at those entitlements that many of us have come to depend on for our day to day existence.

When big government fails it’s going to create a culture shock from coast to coast for those on the dole who believe that it couldn’t happen, that government had an endless supply of cotton money and that it was simply too big too fail! And along with that new reality will come a great void, an emptiness, because of the entitlement mindset relied too heavily on government do it and saw no other way. This great void lasts for as long as it needs to last. It will be an indeterminate time chaos, but it will not be forever.

Sadly many government dependents will be lost, left to wander aimlessly without hope and without change, suffering the extremely painful withdrawals that comes when Great Ice Cream Machine breaks down. But, as dark as things may appear there will inevitably come a time when the light bulb in the head goes off and people start to figure out that help from the government is not coming and it’s left up to them to sink or swim.

The longer we put off the absolutely necessary reforms to a massively bloated bureaucracy and make those much needed cuts to our reckless and irresponsible over-spending the more chaos that is sure to follow in the wake of a financial collapse and the longer it will take for the start of our recovery.

Recovery will come and it will come in the form of capitalism. Along with it will be the restoration of an old class that once built this country. It was called the working poor, those entry level workers, and they will replace today’s welfare recipients. Those who can work – must work. The reality of the real world will hit them so hard they will know that able bodied people have no other choice and it will be good for them and for the economy. Because they will become productive members of society, earning their way and contributing to the the greater society and the nation.

The lessons that will follow this collapse and the re-awakening will be many. Work is good for our collective character. We will re-learn the value of work, the value of money and the satisfaction having earned it! Work breeds it’s set of ethics that nothing else can. It instills pride on those willing to meet the new challenges and understand that all work is honorable and there is ladder to be climbed for more rewards. It’s said that action begets action, just like inaction begets inaction. We’ll put that to the test and the rewards that follow hard work and self-improvement will more than justify the sacrifice. There will be much less idle time, much less recreational time and as a result many selfish indulgences and misbehavior’s will have no place in the new working America.

Work ethics will replace that failed notions of wealth redistribution. The population will have many needs and that challenge will be met with new ideas and innovations.

Just as sure what we are doing will collapse (unless we begin immediate reforms) we will see a working America that will rise from the ashes and no segment of our society will be left behind to languish in the remnants of the old Nanny State. Necessity is the Mother of invention!

Work will happen (its the only sure way out)  and it will happen across the board, in the prisons that will become places of hard labor, it will happen in the big housing projects of Chicago and Detroit that were almost destroyed by their uncaring occupants as soon as they were built. Reconstruction, restoration and rehabilitation will replace many things…the malaise, malingering and much of the crime we have today. This will most assuredly be immediately felt by those second, third and fourth generation welfare recipients who thought having babies… was a job! The reality of work will happen to many who thought government and wealth redistribution was the answer to every problem and every need.

Futurist Author Kevin Williamson says our salvation will come when we start turning to competitive business and not the government. He’s sees the crash coming soon and that the great void left by it’s implosion will eventually be filled by entrepreneurs and capitalism. He cites, for example the cell phone of the 1980s that cost almost ten thousand dollars was the size and weight of a brick and today in 2013 it’s a fraction of the cost and look what it can do. Compare that to the government schools of the 1980s and fast forward to the schools of today. Think of what we might have today if government had been in charge of making cell phones?

IRS Union Says No to Obamacare

Posted by Tina

Washington Examiner

IRS employees have a prominent role in Obamacare, but their union wants no part of the law.
National Treasury Employees Union officials are urging members to write their congressional representatives in opposition to receiving coverage through President Obama’s health care law.
The union leaders are providing members with a form letter to send to the congressmen that says “I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.”

The NTEU represents 150,000 federal employees overall, including most of the nearly 100,000 IRS workers.
Like most other federal workers, IRS employees currently get their health insurance through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, which also covers members of Congress.

Everyone knows this law is a stinker…time to flush it!

Rasmussen found that 61% of Americans think this law will make healthcare more expensive.

A CBS poll found 38% thought the law would hurt them:

According to the poll, 36 percent of Americans want Congress to expand or keep the health care law while 39 percent want Congress to repeal it – the highest percentage seen in CBS News polls. The poll also found a majority of Americans – 54 percent – disapprove of the health care law, 36 percent of Americans approve of it and 10 percent said they don’t know about it. … The poll also found just 13 percent of Americans say the health care law will personally “help me” while 38 percent said they believe the law will personally “hurt me.”

A FOX News poll listed repeal of the law as the best strategy for JOB CREATION!

The people are strongly in favor of repeal of this destructive, oppressive bill but we have to do more than just respond to questions on the telephone. I know you guys are on it but here’s some help:

In Sacramento the Tea Party Express is committed to repeal:

Sacramento, CA – Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, has reaffirmed its commitment to repealing Obamacare after the Supreme Court ruled the Affordable Care Act was constitutional. … “We are focused on taking control of the Senate, reinforcing our 2010 gains in the House, and defeating President Obama. These key objectives will open the door for a wave of new conservatives in Washington who are committed to repealing Obamacare. This fundamentally flawed piece of legislation should be replaced with pro-growth free market solutions that will create sustainable healthcare policies for future generations,” Kremer concluded.

Darwin Awards of the Week – A Two-fer Special

by Jack

24 Jul 2013, ROQUE BLUFFS MAINE – It was getting late and the sun was going down when Park Rangers were alerted that two women day hiking in the ocean side Roque Bluffs State Park got lost and called 9-1-1 for help.  Seems these two had a poor sense of direction and could not follow the well marked trails back to the parking lot, a point that would prove to be critical later.   Luck was with them, a local landowner found them and their dog and gave them rides back to his house, where a game warden picked them up and brought them to their vehicle, which was parked at the park.   The women were dropped off at the park and they entered their mini-van to return home as the evening fog crept in.

About an hour later police received a second 9-1-1 call from the same women.

The women may have been disoriented by the fog, but  instead of turning right, they turned left and drove in the opposite direction from their homes.   This route took them to the small fishing village of Roque Bluffs, pop. 300, and eventually to the boat ramp.    The women obviously did not realize they were travelling in the wrong direction, they also did not recognized they were passing through the town of Roque Bluffs and further they didn’t seem to notice the  sudden decline and the rough concrete of the boat ramp.  In a few seconds they were floating in ocean.

They hit with enough force to completely launch their van into the water and then they began to drift.  As the van bobbed in the water it started to sink  front first.   The women frantically called 9-1-1 and advised the dispatcher they were sinking and to send help…again.   Police responded code three, but not before the van went completely under in shallow water.  The women were found in the back of the van, presumably following the last air pocket in the long minutes before the van sunk.    Whatever plans of escape they had we’ll never know, but one thing is obvious, they never thought to roll down a window and swim the short distance to the shore.  And no the dog didn’t survive either.

Good Heavens, Mildred, Green Cokey Cola?

greencokesteviaPosted by Tina

Coke Cola Life is not coming to a grocery store shelf near you any time soon but it is about to launch in Argentina. The product is sweetened with sugar and Stevia placing it at 108 calories, right between no cal diet coke and regular coke at 250 calories. But the fascinating green thing is the classic hourglass PlantBottle. Thirty percent of it is made from plants material making it very friendly to the environment.

Coke has also created a new bottle made entirely of ice…yeah ice…for a frosty cold drink on hot days!

The article didn’t mention a shelf life for either product.

If only the left could get it. They don’t have to waste all that time and money feeding the public BS scare stories to “save the planet”. Smart R&D types and entrepreneurs will discover, produce and market the means necessary to keep our environment healthy and strong.

We just need real freedom, people, and capitalism!

Iraq Close to Civil War

by Jack

Sectarian violence in Iraq is approaching all out civil war.  There was a time when Iraq’s Sunni population was eager to rid Iraq of Al Qaeda and accept a secondary role in the Shi’itte government, but President Maliki (Shi’itte) essentially told them to F off and pursued a campaign of arrests and murder of Sunni leaders.   This has resulted in the deaths of about 3,000 Iraqi civillians at the hands of terrorists on both sides in just the last 4 months with another 7,000 severely injured.

Iraq is also caught up in the Syrian war.  Half the country wants to stay out of it, calling it a political war, not a religious war and then you have the others, influenced heavily by Iran who says the Syrian war is a holy war and has issued a number of fatwahs from high ranking clerics to help the rebels resist the Basha al-Assad regime in Syria.  Meanwhile fighters and guns move across Iraq to the war zone, and some stay in Iraq to start a Syrian-type revolt.   Essentially this breaks down to two Islamic states within Iraq that are on opposite sides of the Syrian conflict and threatening to bring on civil war inside Iraq, motivated by revolution in Syria.

“Wayne White, a former senior US State Department Iraq analyst, attributed the uptick in violence to Shiite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s failure to include Sunnis in the political process since the US troop withdrawal.

IRS Scandal: Tea Party Group Will Sue William Wilkins

Posted by Tina

One Tea Party group that was targeted by the IRS for extra scrutiny is including William Wilkins in it’s lawsuit against the federal government. Wilkins, IRS Chief Council, spoke with President Obama in a private meeting one day before IRS employees were given orders to target Tea Party groups:

“This lawsuit is the only way to get all of the answers involving this national scandal,” said True the Vote’s President Catherine Engelbrecht. Engelbrecht, who was the subject of a report here in May, was the target of federal investigations into both her political group and her manufacturing business after she filed for tax exempt status for her organizations. The group is represented by True the Vote counsel Cleta Mitchell.

The other five IRS officials being added to the lawsuit other than Chief Counsel Wilkins are IRS officials Holly Paz, Steve Grodnitzky, David Fish, Michael Seto, and Cindy Thomas. According to the suit, the first four officials “all were directors or in positions of management within the Washington, DC IRS offices during the targeting of conservative, non-profit applicants.” Additionally, the group says “the TIGTA (Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration) Report reveals each was involved in reviewing applications for tax exemption status and developing and reviewing the criteria used to target these applicants.” Thomas was “the Program Manager (highest position) at the IRS Determinations Unit in Cincinnati, OH. The TIGTA Report reveals that she worked directly with Washington, DC officials to implement and supervise the targeting scheme at the Cincinnati IRS office.”

Read more about William Wilkins, a person dubbed, Washington savvy in the article by Jeffrey Lord in his informative article at the link above…tease: How do Jeremiah Wright, the much maligned Tea Party Senate candidate from Delaware, Christine O’Donnell, candidates President Obama and Hillary Clinton, the United Church of Christ, and Karl Rove weave in to this story?

This lawsuit could become one of those national media marathons if the media had even one drop of integrity. We will do our best to keep you informed. I only got to skim the story…a family health care situation has me hopping.

Parting shot: Is Washington DC a corrupt mess or what?
