Pretty Weird About Egypt, huh?

by Jack

So the Egyptian military says enough and tells President Morsi and the protesters you have 48 hours to come to an agreement or we will step in and restore stability. In other words, a military coup d’etat. Wonder if they will be using our American tanks we just sold them to drive over the protesters?

Meanwhile the offices of the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo (something akin to our democrat party headquarters0 were mobbed by hundreds of angry Egyptians.  They broke in, ran off the party members and then they stripped it clean.  All the windows were knocked out, fixtures, air conditioners, lights..they’re all gone.  Even the door locks were stolen.   I found that fairly odd as this is usually how they operate, mobs, intimidation, looting…funny to see the tables turned.   Too bad the military has lots of US hardware, that won’t make us look any better if push comes to shove.

“Egypt’s powerful military warned on Monday it will intervene if the Islamist president doesn’t “meet the people’s demands,” giving him and his opponents two days to reach an agreement in what it called a last chance.  Hundreds of thousands of protesters massed for a second day calling on Mohammed Morsi to step down.

Military helicopters, some dangling Egyptian flags, swooped over Cairo’s Tahrir Square where many broke into cheers with the army’s announcement, read on state television. The statement seemed to fuel the flow of crowds into city squares around the country where protesters chanted and sang.

“Come out, el-Sissi. The people want to topple the regime,” protesters in the Nile Delta city of Mahalla el-Kubra chanted, urging military chief Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi to intervene.”

R U Gaga Over Gaga Rendition of the National Anthem?

The LGBT cultural community is celebrating. I don’t blame them, they continue to win victory after victory in their cultural cause. But Lady Gaga’s performance of the “Star Spangled Banner” at a Gay Pride event in New York may have taken the celebrations a bit far. A WSJ blog, Speakeasy, has the video…see what you think:

Obama Talks Tough to Tyrants in Africa…So?

Posted by Tina

I like the tough language the President is using in Africa against greedy, murderous tyrants. But our President has undermined his own power to influence in the world on the subjects of freedom and the economy. Unfortunately he has established himself as a soft tyrant in terms of his leadership. Too bad, America was once a beacon for freedom and our presidents respected around the world:

iafrica.com

US President Barack Obama warned on Sunday that Africa could only fulfil its rising potential with leaders who serve their people, not tyrants who enrich themselves. In a strident call for democratic change and good governance, Obama used the political legacy of ailing Nelson Mandela and South Africa´s emergence from grim years of apartheid as proof that freedom will ultimately prevail.(snip)He also condemned the rule of Robert Mugabe in neighbouring Zimbabwe, where he said the “promise of liberation gave way to the corruption of power and the collapse of the economy”. (emphasis mine)

Yes, yes, I know…Obama isn’t a murderer! But the promise of liberation (freedom) giving way to the “corruption of power” and the “collapse of the economy”? He’s standing on a a base of shifting sands on that one!

This president has abused the power of the presidency to bypass Congress. He has encouraged his “czars” and secretaries to push a political agenda. His IRS has abused power to silence and marginalize political opponents prior to an election. His Justice Department is a political arm of his administration and represents as a biased arbiter of the law rather than as blind lady of justice. His EPA is issuing regulations that put energy companies out of business for a green agenda. He has wasted tax dollars on unsound technology, failing business, and new entitlement programs and promotion of that program. He has spent taxpayer dollars to aid and abet enemies of western nations while insulting our allies. His failing economic polices affect nations all across the globe and he refuses to change course.

America could use a real leader right now, a leader that stands firmly behind our values of freedom, capitalism, justice and equality. Our economy is desperate for policy that improves the economic outlook and restores economic health and opportunity for middle and lower class workers!

Get with the American brand, sir! America is about freedom! America is about individual opportunity and success! We need a leader dedicated to the values we hold dear…and leadership based on service…you have veered quite far from that path!

Priest Beheaded by Syrian Rebels

Posted by Jack

Syria-Catholic-Priest-Francois-MuradSyrian Catholic priest Francois Murad killed last weekend by jihadi fighters was beheaded, according to a report by Catholic Online which is linking to video purportedly showing the brutal murder.

As TheBlaze reported last week, Murad, 49, was setting up a monastery in Gassanieh, northern Syria. Last Sunday, on the Christian leader’s Sabbath, extremist militants trying to topple President Bashar Assad breached the monastery and grabbed Murad.

While earlier reports suggested Murad may have been shot to death, Catholic Online reported Saturday: “The Vatican is confirming the death by beheading of Franciscan Father, Francois Murad, who was martyred by Syrian jihadists on June 23.”

If Obama wanted to send a clear message to the jihadists of the world it would be this, “The United States is witholding all foreign aid to Syrian rebels until those who have participated in this slaughter are punished. Failure to do so will result in the permanent halt of all US aid. You have 30 days to comply.” End

Obama: Addressing Climate Change More Important than People, Families and Jobs

Posted by Tina

It’s hot as hell…let’s talk global warming and the President’s stupid “climate change” policy!

The President, as you may have heard, has instructed the EPA to force regulations on coal that will kill the industry. Al gore, a man who has set himself up to make millions on pro-green government policy, approves. But the President polices will force energy prices higher and cost thousands of people to lose their jobs. As if this wasn’t bad enough the President chose to insult those who don’t buy into the science fantasy called global warming, “I don’t have much patience for anyone who denies that this challenge is real. We don’t have time for a meeting of the flat-earth society.” Somebody should remind this man that he is the president of the United States not some low life comic wannabe looking for laughs by entertaining a couple of drunks with stale jokes in a cheap bar.

On his Saturday radio address the President was in full community organizer mode as he called on the fantasy science crowd, including kids, to pressure everyone they know into supporting his evil, anti-jobs, anti-business, anti-American…climate change plan:

“Educate your classmates and colleagues, your family and friends. Speak up in your communities. Remind everyone who represents you, at every level of government, that there is no contradiction between a sound environment and a strong economy — and that sheltering future generations against the ravages of climate change is a prerequisite for your vote.”

One Democrat Senator, Joe Manchin of West Virginia called the Presidents plan a “war on America” and further noted:

“It’s just ridiculous. … I should not have to be sitting here as a U.S. senator, fighting my own president and fighting my own government. I will continue to reach out, but I need a partner here. I don’t need an adversary.”

Senator Manchin has an excellent point. No American should have a president that works against American citizens and American jobs. This Presadent has done so with a vengeance!

Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh writes an article that sums up the entire warming farce from the phony science, to the opportunists who hope to profit from government enforced taxes and regulations, to United Nations attempts to force global restrictions and laws. Dr. Paugh quotes Dr. Klaus Kaiser on the glaring necessity of CO2:

Dr. Klaus Kaiser explained in his article, “Pushing Back on Misinformation,” that there is no such thing as “carbon pollution” or “carbon dioxide pollution.” Carbon is an essential element of anything organic and carbon dioxide is necessary for plant life on earth.

As he points out, if atmospheric concentration of CO2 should drop from 0.04% to 0.02% (most bureaucrats and environmental groups demand to cut CO2 emissions in half – perhaps they could hold their breath or genetically engineer a non-flatulent cow), “it would be insufficient to sustain photosynthesis in most plants. Without growing plants, the bottom of the food-chain would disappear.”

Dr. Kaiser also discredits the theory of “greenhouse gas that traps heat” that had been proven a false hypothesis a hundred years ago but “resurrected in the 1970s by interest groups who saw it as a convenient means to exert control over energy sources.”

It seems ridiculous that the President of the United States would need reminding that his miserable economic policies, policies that have kept the country in economic hell, will only make this hardship in communities served by coal even worse. But that’s the reality…we have a president that puts special interests with false claims above the people’s dire interests…jobs and a sound economy. We are stuck with his imperious leadership for another three and a half years…right along with sustained joblessness, falling wages, loss of wealth for all but the wealthiest Americans, high gasoline and food prices, a bleak housing market for families, and the threat of future bubbles and widespread inflation.

Be informed. See here, here, here, and here. Then hang on this energy fight is just beginning. Let’s just say it, right out loud…global warming is a hoax!

The response in Europe to this hoax, a response embraced by our President, has cost those nations and people dearly and they are now beginning to reject disastrous green energy policies and the lie that it would lead to good jobs.

The truth is the President has no real power to shelter “future generations against the ravages” of something exists as a lie. He does have the power to further ruin our economy and place huge burdens on working families and businesses. The Presidents plan to kill the coal industry through draconian regulations spelled out by the EPA will be an economic disaster that will affect workers, families, and businesses that rely on clean coal for energy and jobs.

We just can’t let that happen folks.

Free 30 Round Mags!?

Thousands of people lined up in Colorado on Saturday for the chance to get free 30-round gun magazines before they’re banned by a new state law.

The line at the “Farewell to Arms Freedom” festival in the Denver suburb of Glendale stretched more than half a mile, the Denver Post reported. Magpul Industries, a maker of firearms accessories based in Erie, Colo., had donated 20,000 magazines for the event, with 1,500 given away and the rest to be sold at a discount.

The Post reported that the proceeds would go to the effort to recall two state senators who helped push through the law, which goes into effect Monday. The event was put on by Free Colorado, which says on its website that it is a nonprofit aimed at ensuring the rights of firearm owners.

The new law limits gun magazines to 15 rounds. People can still possess larger magazines, but those can’t be sold or transferred to other people in Colorado after Monday.

The law was passed in the wake of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, in which a gunman used 30-round magazines on a Bushmaster rifle to fire 154 bullets in less than five minutes. He killed 20 first-graders and six teachers and staff before shooting himself with a pistol.

“I don’t see this as gun control,” state Rep. Rhonda Fields, D-Aurora, who is not a target of the recall effort, told NBC station KUSA of Denver. “These are common sense measures to deal with gun violence. We’re not taking away people’s Second Amendment rights. People can still have access to guns.”

But such arguments haven’t satisified opponents. Magpul has threatened to move out of Colorado over the ban.

“We are not going to take this lying down,” said Kelly Maher, spokesperson for Free Colorado, told KUSA. “We are going to stand up and we are going to fight for what we believe in.”

Taxes on Gasoline Going Up July 1st, 2013

by Jack

We previously reported that a 3.5 cents per gallon of gas was passed and now that tax goes into effect July 1. Here’s the full story thanks to RHT.

The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) passed a new gas tax with a 3-2 vote Thursday that raises the excise tax on gasoline another 3.5 cents effective Jul. 1.

In March 2010, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed two fuel tax measures (ABX8 6 and SB 70) which adjusted the rates of the sales and excise tax on gasoline that would help close a gap and balance the budget in 2010.

“This tax swap was the only way that they could take the money from the road fund to try and balance the budget in 2010,” said George Runner, Member of the State Board of Equalization.

These two laws created a new tax structure for gasoline and mandated the BOE to adjust the state gasoline excise tax rate by Mar. 1 of each year. This rate adjustment ensures the overall state taxes consumers pay at the pump remain the same as they would have been under the prior tax structure.

The “complicated” fuel tax swap legislation was designed to be revenue neutral, ensuring overall state taxes consumers pay at the pump would remain the same as they would have been under the prior tax structure. During times of rising gasoline prices a sales tax revenue loss also rises because of the “tax swap” requiring the BOE to adjust the excise tax rate to make up for the loss and maintain the revenue neutrality as required by law.

George Runner (District 2) and Michelle Steel, (District 3) were the two BOE members that voted no.

“I cannot support a more than half a billion dollar tax increase on struggling Californians who are already experiencing significant pain at the pump,” said Runner.

The excise tax has been estimated to bring in 500 million dollars in revenue and would be used primarily to fund transportation, ie. public roads and mass transit, said Runner.

Executive Power Overload -Reverse Discrimination Ordered Through the Executive

Posted by Tina

Last week the Supreme Court brought an end the decades old Voting Rights Act of 1965 that restricted certain states from changing their voting laws and districts without federal approval. The ruling marks a welcome acknowledgement that America has come a long way since the harsh discrimination of the past. In the early 1960’s the justified cry from minorities and whites was for justice and equality. But we’ve come a long way since the times when a dignified but oppressed minority demanded to be treated as equals and afforded the same opportunity and respect as any other human being. Today’s minority leaders demand retribution, redistribution and at times revenge. Trouble is the men and women of America that have for decades bent over backward to make amends have grown weary of the continuous drumbeat that blames society today for the sins of our ancestors. Equality is not a pile of unearned advantages. Equality means every individual is required to meet challenges head on and work hard to accomplish goals. Equality is accepting setbacks and barriers and determining to work through them. Equality is realizing that not every person is born with a silver spoon in his mouth and that fate, or God, has determined the particulars of birth for each of us. Equality is accepting the full responsibility of being human. So yes, the Supreme Court decision was a welcome sign that every American has opportunity today.

Unfortunately America has elected a President that is determined to lead in the direction of retribution, redistribution, and revenge.

Investors.com informs while sycophants in media continue to provide cover for Barack Obama:

To boost minority hiring, the EEOC recently warned employers they could be considered guilty of “race discrimination if they choose law-abiding applicants over applicants with criminal convictions.” The predictable result: hiring quotas for felons.

At the same time, the Labor Department is warning federal contractors to refrain from asking employees about felonies.

It’s also demanding they modify their hiring policies to favor minorities.
The agency also advised that all FDIC-insured banks must develop and implement an “affirmative action program” for hiring.

The administration, moreover, has adopted an interagency “Policy Statement on Discrimination in Lending” that makes it “permissible” (and strongly advisable) for banks to apply more favorable lending terms for minority borrowers “to address past discrimination.”

It has also formalized the use of a lower standard of proof — “disparate impact” liability — for enforcing anti-discrimination laws in housing and lending.

Now, just about any race-neutral policy or practice — from mortgage underwriting standards to credit scoring to criminal background checks — can be deemed racist if it tends to result in adverse outcomes for blacks or Latinos.

For the first time, disparate impact is woven through all civil-rights enforcement of the federal government.

Thanks to a flurry of disparate-impact suits, the Justice Department has forced the nation’s largest home lenders — including Wells Fargo, Bank of America and SunTrust — to adopt minority-friendly lending policies and even open new branches in depressed areas with large minority populations.
Fearing prosecution, the entire mortgage industry is adopting similar policies.

In addition, the department has extracted from these and other bank defendants more than $600 million in loan set-asides and other cash payouts for yet-to-be identified “victims” of credit discrimination.
Meantime, Obama’s new credit watchdog agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is subjecting car lenders to the same racial “effects test” while investigating racial bias at Equifax, Experian, TransUnion and other consumer credit reporting agencies.

This is just the first page of a three page article outlining the bully tactics this administration is using to force reverse discrimination and redistribution throughout American institutions and business. This is not a policy of equality but of revenge. President Obama and Eric Holder have fashioned a plan to punish whitey through acts of overt oppression that represents the same disgraceful attitudes America has fought so hard to end.

The Civil rights Act introduced an era when so many wonderful people saw the opportunity and were willing to grab it. They pressed hard through obstacles, to provide a better future for their children and through hard work, personal savings and investment they achieved the American Dream. They achieved true equality, and they have taught their children the valuable lessons needed for true equality…to face down all adversity through the dignity and pride of accomplishment. Perhaps along the way they have even discovered that adversity does not recognize skin color; that every person has difficult challenges and prejudices to overcome.

I hope these fine people will also come to realize that revenge will do nothing for minorities in America but will instead create a wall of division higher than ever before and a deep divide that America may not survive. The policies that this administration is forcing on America are a poison administered by radicals seeking revenge. However hopeful America may have been in electing its first black president it is clear this president will disappoint, leaving behind a legacy of racism, economic failure, and shame, as a destroyer. It does not please me in any way to make this observation; it sickens me. This is a major problem for all Americans. A problem we must face together as a united front standing for decency, respect, honor and equality.

We Don’t Need No Stinkin Gunz – We got Knives!

Posted by Jack

Oh, if we only had a ban on sharp knives…Sacramento where’s your help? We should ban knives too, because if it would save one child, isn’t it worth it, I mean what price can you put on a child? I for one, can get along my State approved chopsticks.

Knives are responsible for the deaths of 8763 people in the last five years and the injuries of thousands. in Dec. of 2012, a Chinese man slashed 22 innocent little children outside a primary school. He was derranged and somehow he had possession of a real big knife. It was far bigger than he needed to eat with!

We need laws to prevent stabbings and slashings! Wait, we have We need to ban knives in order to protect the children…because if it saves one child…you know.

Chico police reported an attempted murder occurred about 2:15 a.m. today at Sycamore Pool at the One-Mile Recreation Area in Bidwell Park. An unidentified was found bleeding near the pool with multiple stab wounds. The was attacked by two young men in their 20s with shaved heads, who fled the scene. Suspects are described white or Hispanic, one being about 6-foot-2, 160 pounds, and the other about 5-foot-8 with a slender build.

In an unrelated knife attack a woman was reportedly robbed at knife point while walking on the bike path south of West Sacramento Avenue Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old unidentified female was walking when a man on a bicycle approached her at about 10:20 p.m., and held a knife on her while demanding her purse. The suspect who was described as being a 20- to 25-year-old white or Hispanic male with medium build wearing a hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans and a bandanna covering his face.

Deputies responded to a call of a knife assault about 5:15 p.m. to Sixth and Sacramento streets. The victim was 51-year-old David Garcia Navarro, of Hamilton City. He was seated in his car when 26-year-old Gilberto Corona slashed his face and neck.

Prior to this it was a set of stabbings…Detectives are looking into what led to the assaults and why they took place near the same location, said Chico police Lt. Mike O’Brien.

Officers responded to The Beach, 191 E. Second St., at about 1 a.m. Saturday after reports of a stabbing that occurred outside the bar, according to police. They were able to find a man with a stab wound to the middle of his back.

In 2010 you were 8 times more likely to be stabbed by a knife than shot by a rifle. If you were to take all the number of police officer shootings, and the number of all justified uses of a firearm, and deduct that from the total of people shot, you would find there are unlawful stabbings.

Obamacare: Business Must Hire Newly Legalized Immigrants Over Other Americans

Posted by Tina

Another potential slap at the American worker, and the American notion of free and open competition for jobs, is embedded in the thousands of pages that make up Obamacare. If we get an immigration bill the fines kick in…The Washington Examiner explains:

An unnamed staffer for Sen. Marco Rubio has caused the latest stir over the immigration bill by telling the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza that, “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it…There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer.” Rubio himself was quick to explain that the quote did not represent his own views. But in reality, the immigration bill Rubio is pushing, when combined with President Obama’s health care law, would actually do something much worse than make it easier for employers to hire immigrant workers over American citizens – it would provide a massive financial incentive to do so.

As I’ve outlined previously, under Obamacare, businesses with over 50 workers that employ American citizens without offering them qualifying health insurance could be subject to fines of up to $3,000 per worker. But because newly legalized immigrants wouldn’t be eligible for subsidies on the Obamacare exchanges until after they become citizens – at least 13 years under the Senate bill – businesses could avoid such fines by hiring the new immigrants instead.

Let’s be clear about something. In a free market, if a new immigrant worker can do a job better than an American worker for a cheaper price, there shouldn’t be a problem with a business hiring the immigrant. But when the immigration bill interacts with Obamacare’s employer mandate, it functions as a reverse tariff against hiring American citizens. It would be like subjecting Americans to a $3,000 tax on purchasing American cars, while allowing them to avoid that tax by purchasing cars from Germany, Japan, or any other country other than America. That’s not free trade. That’s government rigging the game against American citizens.

Unemployment for Americans has been over 7.6 percent for nearly five years while the economy bumps along at a dismal 1% to 2% growth. Inflation is now rearing its ugly head with interest rates on the rise and student loan rates nearly doubling to over 6%. There are more people in poverty today than ever before and the Democrats continue to blunt and discourage business at every turn while wasting tax dollars and increasing our debt.

OUR LEADERS NEED TO PAY FOR THE MESS THEY ARE MAKING OF AMERICA…

…only you can deliver the blow to remove the guilty from power.
