Bravo Mr. Krauthammer

Posted by Tina

Theres been a lot of talk lately about eltist neo-cons jumping ship to vote for Obama. Ive been disappointed with some of them because Ive admired their work. You can imagine my relief when I read the following in IBD:

No Reason For Conservatives To Jump Ship, by Charles Krauthammer

* Contrarian that I am, I’m voting for John McCain. *** I’m not talking about bucking the polls or the media consensus that it’s over before it’s over. I’m talking about bucking the rush of wet-fingered conservatives leaping to Barack Obama before they’re left out in the cold without a single state dinner for the next four years. *** I stand athwart the rush of conservative ship-jumpers of every stripe neo (Ken Adelman), moderate (Colin Powell), genetic/ironic (Christopher Buckley) and socialist/atheist (Christopher Hitchens) yelling “Stop!” *** I shall have no part of this motley crew. I will go down with the McCain ship. I’d rather lose an election than lose my bearings. *** First, I’ll have no truck with the phony case ginned up to rationalize voting for the most liberal and inexperienced presidential nominee in living memory. * (emphasis is mine)

Somewhere tonight WFB is smiling…and so am I.

The Spider and the Fly

Spider12.gifCompliments of Informed Lawyer

Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,
‘Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I’ve a many curious things to shew when you are there.”
Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.”

“I’m sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?” said the Spider to the Fly.
“There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin,
And if you like to rest awhile, I’ll snugly tuck you in!”
Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “for I’ve often heard it said,
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!”

Obama, Show Me the Money!

TN_dollar_sign_2.jpgPosted by Tina

Now and then a newspaper story illustrates a much larger pointperfectly!

* Having hauled in a record $208,333 every hour of every day last month — $150 million in all — plus a few more unreported millions so far this month, Barack Obama is worried that he might come up short in the political money war with the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket. Just to relieve himself of that $150 million before the polls open, Obama will have to spend $12.5 million a day. But he needs some more tonight’s the absolute deadline to donate $10 more and receive your special edition Official Obama-Biden car magnet. Los Angeles Times *

Having already collected more than $605 million Obama casually asks the faithful for MORE offering a cheap bumper sticker in return. Something tells me this campaign is a snapshot for how Obama will governlike a teenager with dads credit cards.

Side note: How indicative of our bad economy is this obscene” fund raising? no matter, look for that story to end if and when the O is elected…Mr. Soros and friends will see to it.

YOUNG GIRLS FOR SALE – SUPPORT PROP K

Posted by Jack

hookers.jpgSan Francisco is a town that embraces diversity and places sadomasochistic behavior on par with tradition values, evidenced by an annual parade where men in Nun’s habits prance around mocking Catholics and sometimes engage in public sex acts to the cheers of the crowd, where women who look and dress like men have their girls on a leash; whatever is outrageous, shocking or normally offensive is acceptable in this permissive, progressive society. Is it any wonder they want to legalize prostitution?

Want to read more? Click here.

Proposition K would take away the tools police use to catch prostitutes, which is one step short of declaring prostitution legal.

If you look at who is in the business, you will find the usual pro’s, but there are underage runaways too, a 13 year girl brings a pretty price. (This is why pimps hang out at the bus station looking for prospects.) There are drug addicts who will do anything for their next fix, including giving you AIDS. Every needle stick brings them closer to death, but so what, sex for money doesn’t hurt anyone, right? And what about all those fresh young Asian hookers smuggled illegally into the sanctuary city by organized crime? They are held as sex slaves, beaten and repeatedly raped; some are forced into drugs until their will to resist is broken, but they don’t really count as human beings do they? It’s all about diversity and the freedom to do your thing, so I suppose you have to take the bad with the good. Thats what the progressives say who vigorously support Prop K . They tell us prostitution should be decriminalized and they ask for voter support on Prostitution o-K!

Proposition K has been endorsed by the local Democratic Party and the NAMBLA society.

FUN AT CAMP

I thought some of you might like to see these pics from my last training base. I’m an old recycle and even though I am, and basically just a paper pusher, I still had to take some specialized training to keep me up to Army standards.

Unfortunately, our website isn’t really set up for a whole lot of show and tell, so I had to shrink the pics down a lot to get them to load quckly, just hope you can see them ok.

aPatton.jpgThese pics might bring back memories to some of you from the Army, the Guard, Army Reserve or USMC Reserve. Those soldiers all trained at Camp Parks. The photo below shows the entrance to one of the main buildings on post where you go for indoor training classes. I don’t think its been updated in the past 40 years.

During WWII General Patton was the base commander. The base was a lot bigger and a whole lot busier back then with hundreds of armored vehicles running around! Now the base is only sporadically busy with new soldiers being cycled through ever so often. While I was there the base was pretty busy and all the barracks were filled up. I think the barracks were left over from WWII, they were a little on the primitive side, but clean and it kept us out of the weather. That’s about all I can say for them!

This is my class. I’m the oldest guy in it, but I made it!

This (see below) ought to be familiar to anyone who has ever served. It’s the standard GI closet and here you see the sum of my worldly possessions and it ain’t much! The good part is I never had to worry what I was going to wear today.
aBNClocker.jpg
Shown below are some of my friends who were taking the same class as I was. Behind them is the infamous parade ground where soldiers spent many hours drilling. Sometimes it went on late into the night. Left…left…left, right left…(I can still here that cadence!!! lol)

The picture above is the new Army truck that replaced the duece and a half (2.5 ton) troop carrier. it rides a 100% better than the old deuce and the seating is a lot better too.

A Liberal’s Response to the American Doctrine

a rebuttal to “The American Doctrine” by Libby X

(WE at POST SCRIPTS embrace our 1st ammendment rights and when well crafted and heartfelt replies are posted to our articles we sometimes elevate them to the status of a feature article so they can get due consideration. This is such an article. We do not necessarily agree with the author, but it is well written and thought provoking.)

We’re getting ahead of ourselves, tempting fate, starting the autopsy afore the patient is rightly dead. But I did run across this little thing on the Huffington Post, by Mr. Carville and somebody else. Very entertaining. And only slightly clipped: it was ALL so good.

The “American” Doctrine

usa_clipart_liberty_8.jpgPosted by Tina

The following was taken from a speech about the Bush Doctrine and It rings true for me. See what you think, agree or disagree:

Today, the Bush doctrine may not be popular but it will endure, by Lamont Colucci Independent (UK)

*Before George W Bush, the titanic battle in American foreign policy was between so-called realists and liberals. But the Bush doctrine does not fit definitively into either category. *** I believe it should be categorised as a “crusading realism” that deals with the moral bankruptcy of realism and the moral cowardice of liberalism. There are four pillars to that doctrine: prevention, pre-emption, primacy and democracy promotion. Pre-emption is nothing new: every state has used it and will continue to use it. It is the least controversial aspect of the four. *** The next pillar is prevention and refers to the eradication of a threat that is not immediate: that is, WMD, and al-Qa’ida’s attempts to access a nuclear weapon. *** The third pillar is primacy, which dictates that if the US is to pursue the other three pillars of the Bush doctrine, it must uphold its status as the world’s only superpower. This is also translated into the military strategy which states that the United States must be able to fight multiple wars at the same time. *** The most radical and interesting pillar of the Bush doctrine is that of democracy promotion. The key question is: does President Bush really believe in it? In interviewing key administration figures, it became clear that he does. His belief in the universal nature of democratic values is heartfelt. He believes in the “non-negotiable demands of human liberty and human dignity”. This returns the US to the natural law of the 17th and 18th centuries. *** I would argue that if the Bush doctrine was called the American doctrine, it would be entirely acceptable. The ideals of liberty and democracy are core values in America. If it was repackaged as the American doctrine, it would receive an entirely different reaction. *** The possibility that the next American president will go against the Bush doctrine is fantastical. Tactics may change, but the overall strategy will remain. The philosophical foundations of the doctrine will inform American national security policy into the future. The belief that allowing people a civil society with elections will drain the swamps of extremism in the Middle East will endure beyond 2008. * (emphasis mine)

Dr Lamont Colucci is a former foreign service officer at the US State Department. The speech was delivered to The Andrew Jackson Society on Monday
