Sarah…smiles!

By Tina

I just watched Sarah Palins speech and was thrilled to discover she is everything I had hoped for in a candidate for VP. Shes going to Washington to work!

Sarah Palin is not a cookie cutter woman. In fact, she represents women like none of the Stepford Feminists ever could. She is genuine, sharp, witty and totally comfortable in her own skin. This woman knows how to speak above, beyond and around the noise, glitter and slime of the opposition and the media spin machine…they will have to run hard just to keep up. Reagan would have loved her!

Did you See Palin Tonight?

by Jack

I just finished watching Sarah Palin give her big talk to the RNC tonight and as one who generally has a firm grasp on the obvious, I think we got a winner here!

She sure can deliver a speech and probably a lot more than that by the looks of it. But, first we have to get her and McCain elected to the White House. That’s going to be tough, but I do believe the momentum has shifted to their side now and a good part of that was due to her surprise entry.

Projecting down the road, like I often do, I think if she makes this big election hurdle in four years she will be the heir to White House. After all McCain will be almost 77 and this might be the time for him to leave office and pass the baton to Palin. Now wouldn’t that frost Hillary? Wow! This would be Hillary’s worst case scenario. History would recognize Sarah Palin as our first woman vice president and to make it worse, Hillary would have to run against a younger and more vibrant woman with 4 years of White House experience and incumbent status.

But, first things first! Our focus now must be to get McCain elected, then we can deal with the rest, like setting the kind of example that will renew Republican core values and put us back on the track that Reagan built and that led republicans into a majority in Congress. We need our Republican Party back on that conservative track because what we have in Congress right now won’t take us very far. We deserve better and we need republicans in Congress that will follow through on the promises that got them there in the first place! A maverick like Palin is just the kind of conservative leadership we need to get going.

And “Wild Ovations” Followed

Posted by Tina

Sarah Palin will speak at the convention this eveningwhat if she said :

“There are a few more things you need to know about me. As a troubled teen-ager, I myself used cocaine and marijuana (yes, I inhaled), and as an adult, I attended and took my family to (and my inspiration from) a church where the preaching included hate-speech about America and assorted ethnic and religious groups. In my business career, before entering politics, I had talents that allowed me, simply by reading the newspaper, to earn a 10,000% return on a $1,000 investment in cattle futures in the space of 10 months. While holding elected office, my experience included the pursuit of assorted adulterous liaisons, including intimate activities in my landmark government office with an intern less than half my age, though as I regard it, I did not have sex with that person (depending on the meaning of is). When I got caught, my spouse denounced my critics as members of a vast political conspiracy. I could add a great deal more to this list (though please remember that when I got caught taking home state silverware, I eventually did send it back), but let us now turn to the mighty issue of the hour” *** That scene, of course, is fantasy. Sarah Palin wont say these words, because they do not apply to her.Claudia Rosette

“But they do apply to the three most prominent political figures who paraded across the stage at the Democratic convention in Denver last week, Barack Obama, and Hillary and Bill Clinton to wild ovations from the crowd.Media Blog NRO

Palin Is Here to Stay

by Jack Lee

There is only one good reason why Palin is under attack by the Democrats. She is a good choice! McCain would be too weak in the eyes of voters if he let Democrats bully him into dumping her, he knows that and he won’t do it. But, what he is doing for the whole world to see and especially the American voters is, he is not George Bush and it won’t be 4 more years of the same as Dems predict. McCain is his own man and his maverick crusader, Sarah Palin, is proving to be a very smart choice by McCain…I have to admit I am impressed and the more I know, the better I like her.

Mexico’s Drug War Rages on US Border

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIscirFz49k

Mexico’s president blames the US appetite for cocaine and meth for their current wave of drug cartel violence in his country. Hundreds of tons of cocaine are moved up from Columbia through Mexico and destined for the United States. Trying to stop the flow of drugs is next to impossible when there is so much demand in the US. The ordinary, every day American users of cocaine and methamphetamine are a serious problem for Mexico and at the same time many of our states have done away with criminal penalties for drug abusers in order to lower prison populations. The cost of that decision has been paid in blood by Mexicans caught up in the unrelenting violence and now that violence is reaching across the border.

“In Mexico, the “war on drugs” isn’t just an expression people use. Half an hour drive from San Diego in frontier towns like Tijuana, it’s a war zone.

Federal police officers stand on guard in a street of Tijuana, Mexico, on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008. Inspectors have raided 15 pharmacies in downtown Tijuana in a search of counterfeit and illegal drugs.

DRUG WARS

Posted by Tina

The following excerpt in red says it all…

“The best solution is for the U.S. military to assume armed positions along the border … and use whatever force is necessary to control the border zone.” – Chairman Kent Lundgren, NAFBPO

Border drug wars threaten U.S. Washington Times

An escalating turf fight between warring drug cartels in Mexico is spreading into the United States with federal officials warning that deadly shootouts and ambushes along the southwestern border pose a serious threat to both U.S. law enforcement and American citizens, according to a confidential multi-agency government report. *** The Aug. 29 report predicts a rise in the use of “deadly force” against U.S. police officials, first responders and residents along the border, and further spillage of drug-gang violence deeper into the United States. *** Written by the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (AcTIC) and the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Investigative Support Center, the report also said the drug cartels are expected to hire members of deadly street gangs now in this country, including Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), to “carry out acts of violence against cartel members in the U.S.” *** “U.S. law enforcement and first responders need to maintain a heightened awareness at all times,” the report said.

ARE YOU A CONTROL FREAK?

Sign #1: It’s Your Way or the Highway
You might be a control freak if being right is more important to you than being fair. This is especially true in relationships. Take a look at past romantic partnerships and ask yourself how you handled misunderstandings, arguments, and other confrontational communication. Did you insist on being right? Was being right more important than seeing the other person’s side of the story? If so, you just might have control issues. Left unchecked, these…

Bi-Polar Thoughts About Presidential Candidates

By Jack Lee

Maybe I put too much faith in the voters to see what I see, but I strongly disagree with the pundits about Obama’s widespread support. If you look at straw polling, which I admit is not very scientific, it is still a clue how people think and in every major straw poll on the internet that I’ve seen John McCain is up by a 2 to 1 margin or more! Some of these polls have over 600,000 votes, so how could that be if Obama is supposed to be running slightly
