Congress Covers It’s Own Butt in Budget Deal

Posted by Tina

The compromise budget deal is a landmark accomplishment for Congress…for the first time since Obama was elected they have created a budget. Why?

‘Tis the season for a new election cycle. Both parties are aware of their low approval numbers. Both want to claim victory by showing they could work with the other side to “get things done for the American people”. Both want to avoid an ugly battle over another shut down.

Let’s face it; the people have doomed themselves unless they wise up take up the cause for themselves Only the people can elect representatives that will work together to dismantle the severe overreach that government under the radical Democrats (And powerless Republicans) have wrought.

As John Roberts indicated when he allowed Obamacare to continue, the people will have to sort this out.

So Congress has come up with a deal, so what? What else can they do when the ideology of the left has moved so far afield of the ideals the country was founded upon and so averse to the ideals that have historically made this country strong.

LOL hate for 1/2 the country with propaganda is a not democratic

I would like to thank GW for the great care he took. I mean losing 750,000 jobs a month was the biggest and best accomplishment the right has ever given us!

let alone the deficit on a war that was soley for profit. They made money and we got a huge deficit. yep man the right is the best!

Fees to install solar panels for the energy companies? You call that freedom

If you do not use their company you pay anyway

Also the crappy budget deal was done to shut down ted Cruz’s next gov shutdown for fund raising. tea party is not going to ruin their elections…LOL

Princess thanks for posting this article.

I heard this morning that Congress has slipped to the lowest rating, 14% approval, in history!

It may take several cycles to undo the damage of big government failures.

Oh something else I heard this morning. Hillary Clinton is out courting the big bankers on Wall Street, telling them they have been beat up unfairly, to distinguish herself from her competition.

    Will it work?

  5. Libby says:

I found the Red State piece rambling and hard to follow. He starts a thing, but doesn’t finish it. And I can’t see what any of it had to do with the passing of the Ryan-Murray budget. The “conservatives” (and I don’t really know what he means by that) no longer had the votes to hold it up, plain and simple.

He concludes with: “Conservatives are going to have to start rebuilding coalitions.”

And I’d be curious to know … with whom?

Well, I’m not sure, but I think its a safe bet it won’t be with you or Dewey.

    Seriously. Let’s run through it.

    Organized labor? No.
Unorganized labor? I don’t think so.
Aspirants to higher education? Definitely not.
    Civil servants? Most definitely not.
Fiscally conservative social liberals? Alas, no.
Farmers? No. (Don’t you touch our subsidies!)
Seniors? No. (Don’t you touch our Medicare!)

    Maybe …

Wall Street? Sure, you g. d. dumb *#@&’s. (Although, since the shutdown, I hear they’ve reconsidered.)

    I am at a loss.

  7. Tina says:

    Libby’s list reconsidered:

    1. Organized labor? No.

People are leaving the union and rejecting attempts to organize. Unions are not all that popular with the younger citizens either. Money grabs, whether taxes from big government or fees from union bosses, represent a taking they don’t appreciate and an affront to their autonomy and individuality.

    2. Unorganized labor? I don’t think so.

Many of these are members of Tea party groups all over the country. laborers are not different that the men and women who employ them, who also have kids, bills, a mortgage. They want their kids to have a future. They want a thriving economy.

    3. Aspirants to higher education? Definitely not.

Not so fast. Young people are wising up to the underlying causes of increased tuition. Big governments hand in it and liberal progressives in high places at colleges and universities demanding ridiculous pay, pensions, and perks who also preach propaganda rather than educating are being found out!

    4. Civil servants? Most definitely not.

There are conservatives hiding in their midst. They don’t speak out for fear of being targeted and demeaned by the radical, hateful, intolerant, left.

Fiscally conservative social liberals? Alas, no.

In some cases you may be right. Those who have rabid or radical views regarding the defense of innocent life or are unwilling to let people with a religious conscience alone might be immovable. Remember most activism by the right is in defense when the left goes too far in their demands. We all need and economy that works and you can’t get there with progressive policy.

    6. Farmers? No. (Don’t you touch our subsidies!)

It depends on the farmer. If the farmer could be given a break from insane regulation and taxes he might find another way to defend himself from the ravages of storms and be content with less government control over what he can and cannot grow!

    7. Seniors? No. (Don’t you touch our Medicare!)

You’ve been talking to too many lefty or ancient seniors! many of the boomers have known the government system is unsustainable and placing too great a burden on young workers. We’ve known for thirty years or more! We are willing to make reforms to save Medicare for those who can no longer work and have no other option that would include means testing and a different solution for younger people who give them more control over their futures and their money.

    8. Wall Street?

the only thing Wall Street cares about is the opportunity to make money. They lobby government because politicians are constantly changing the rules, jerking them around, costing them time and money to change how they do things…a terrible waste all around!

A group that advocates for simplification of tax laws, removing the grip of government on medical and insurance coverage, and giving them relief from constant changes would attract a lot of those on Wall Street who just want to work in peace.

Is there room for new coalitions in the conservative movement? Yes there is, but you left out an important group which surprise me. Minorities. On this front we have a chance as well as the people in these communities realize that we have the same concerns they have and are not the monsters that the unscrupulous progressive radicals in the Democrat Party have told them we are.
