Ferguson Update – More Trouble, More Shootings

by Jack

Two black male adults were shot during the chaos of demonstrations late Monday and early today, but it wasn’t by police. There was no immediate information on the identities or conditions of the victims or where they were from. We do know that some of those arrested came from as far away as California just to take part in the demonstrations.

In an emotional news conference around 2:30 a.m. in the area of the protests, Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald S. Johnson said the shootings demonstrate “a dangerous dynamic in the night” in which a few people determined to cause trouble can pull a whole crowd into it.

Dangerous dynamic is putting it mildly! Police have been arresting an increasingly number of armed persons. For example, 12 people were arrested in the early morning hours in a truck. Two pistols and a Molotov cocktail were in their possession.

The situation is becoming more violent, straining police resources. The longer the State Police fails to contain unruly mobs the more they grow. State Police Capt. Johnson’s approach doesn’t seem to be working any better than the Ferguson Police tactics. They problem is, police are simply being overwhelmed.

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said in a news conference Sunday that Brown first pushed the Ferguson officer into his car and then “assaulted him.” The Chief said one shot was fired from the officer’s gun inside the car during the struggle for the weapon, but it hit no one. The officer then recovered control of the weapon and fired striking Johnson 6 times at close range. The exact distance has not been revealed. Officials have refused to provide a more detailed account, pending further investigation.

Other law enforcement officials are saying if the investigation shows the struggle occurred as described, it could be grounds for justifiable shooting.

Speaking as a former police officer, when anyone attacks a police officer and grabs for his gun, it’s usually a fight to the death. I’ve had that unfortunate experience and thankfully my attacker was not 6’7″ and 325 lbs. However, if I had used my weapon it would have been a justifiable shooting.

It is frustrating to see the dimwits of this world currently rushing to judgment. Reason says we need to let the FBI investigation runs its course and THEN weigh ALL of the facts. At this point guilt or innocence can’t be assigned and it shouldn’t be, especially by a mob or even the New Black Panthers. We know what their agenda is. The media has not been very helpful either, with their biased reporting. They too often use the term unarmed, gentle giant and teenager. Yet a surveillance video allegedly places Brown in a strong arm robbery of a convenience store just minutes before contact with the officer. The store’s surveillance video shows Brown towering over the store clerk and shoving him backwards into a grocery rack and then moving towards him again before the clerk retreats. For some reason the news media has been reluctant to use this part of the story. Even more suspicious, many stations are using a picture of Brown when he was around 12, despite more current photos available. The same thing occurred during the Trayvon Martin shooting.

The Ferguson-Florissant School District announced Monday night that its schools would stay closed for the rest of the week. “We believe that closing schools for the rest of this week will allow needed time for peace and stability to be restored to our community,” the district said in a statement. This is probably the opposite of smart…

The following is from a article read in a comment section I read recently, not my words, but they do express my concern about the rioting taking place in Ferguson:

” The thing is, we still don’t know the truth of what happened in Ferguson and yet we have a city destroying itself. Obviously, if the police officer’s story is true that Michael Brown fought with him and tried to take his gun, then the shooting is justified.
On the other hand, if the friend’s story is true that Michael Brown was running away and then put his hands up and the police officer shot him anyway, then that would be murder and the police officer should go to jail.
Eventually, the truth will come out. But in the meantime, it appears the looting, riots and destruction will continue.
The events in Ferguson once again prove how fragile every city in America is. It doesn’t matter where you live… one natural disaster, one jury verdict, one police shooting… can cause a place to meltdown into a third world country.”

Once more I will comment that a lot of the people in our country who are dependent on others for their daily “expectance” reflect a thin veneer of civility than shadows a lot of hate toward others.

More and More I firmly believe the Current administration in DC understands this and subtly strips away at this veneer to divide the country and for no other reason than to be in power.

Leadership and unity is lost and non existent from this WH, and because of that, it is one of the main contributing factors of this countries current decline. Ferguson is just one example of what can happen instantly anywhere. Especially when it is obvious, rioters are spurred on by outsiders with a agenda.
My opinion is these recurring demonstrations are mostly Political, when the truth is finally exposed, as it seems to surface eventually, but it will be to late to save those wasted lives in Ferguson.

The trouble in Ferguson seems to be coming mostly from outsiders and not the residents. Reporter last night said the demonstrators are there during the day and disappear when the sun goes down and those wearing mask show up as the night grows darker.

Here is one disturbing sign that is hopefully not an indication of more trouble to come.

Peggy that homemade ISIS poster doesn’t surprise me a bit. A couple of the import protesters had head coverings reminiscent of the murderous terrorist thugs operating in the ME. The new Black Panthers are present in Ferguson and they are radical and not known for pro-American ideals, including equality. Wikipedia lists their ideology as: Black nationalism,
    Pan-Africanism, Black supremacy, Communism, Anti-Zionism, Anti-imperialism.

  5. Tina says:

Peggy, between the video allegedly showing Brown intimidating and attacking the store owner and the alleged blowout fracture of Wilson’s eye the “gentle giant” narrative becomes just another attempt to control public opinion.

  6. Peggy says:

Tina, the riots in Ferguson are being done by idiots and agitators who want to be on camera, rob the local merchants and whip up the vulnerable to be used for political agendas. I’m 100% in finding out what happened with Michael Brown, but anyone who’s going there to do anything other than help should be exposed and arrested if they break the laws.

Did you see Jesse Jackson got booed when he asked for donations for his church, so he left town? (What church? Does anyone know what church he’s the pastor for?) How’s that for pandering. Sharpton should join him. They’re just making matters worse.

Eric Holder is headed there tomorrow and the FBI is sending 40 agents to investigate. Have you ever heard of anything like this before? I sure don’t remember it.

It would have been nice to send half that many FBI agents to Benghazi after the 9/11/12 attack that killed four Americans, or how about 30 FBI agents to investigate the hundred plus conservative and religious groups and individuals that were targeted by the IRS.

Read riots also broke out in Oakland and LA last night. It’s sounding like those at the OWS have found another reason to wear their masks again.

    Side note:

Just saw a jobs report that shows if it wasn’t for the 1.1 million jobs created in Texas by Republican Rick Perry, since the end of the recession in June 2009, the total US jobs is actually minus 350 million.

How’s that for proof Obama’s socialist economy is a failure while Perry’s free market economy is putting Americans back to work.

Makes me wonder if the good people of Ferguson had had more and better jobs their town wouldn’t be in the mess it is today.

  7. Peggy says:

Yup, the radicals are there, caught on video.

Outside agitators not as yet arrested in Ferguson: Sharpton, Jackson and Holder.

Black journalist shuts up NBC panel: Let’s not pretend cops killing blacks is the problem:

Wall Street Journal editorial board member Jason Riley upset the NBC liberals’ applecart by chronicling facts which refuted their mythic narrative of bullying white cops harassing innocent black youths.

Speaking on “Meet the Press,” Sunday, Riley told MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell and leftist Jane Harman that the offending officer in Ferguson, Missouri used excessive force and should be prosecuted, but “Let’s not pretend our morgues and cemeteries are full of young black men because cops are shooting them. The reality is that it’s because other black people are shooting them, and we need to talk about black criminality.”

The author of “Please Stop Helping Us: How Liberals Make It Harder for Blacks to Succeed,” went on. “Blacks are only 13 percent of the population, but they’re 50 percent of homicide victims in this country, and 90 percent of these victims are killed by other black people.”

Mitchell interjected that blacks were also the victims of the Missouri looting.

“At the same time, at the same weekend that this went down in Ferguson,” continued Riley, “we had 26 shootings in Chicago, but Al Sharpton didn’t head to Chicago. He headed to St. Louis because he has an entirely different agenda, which is to continue to blame whites.”

Harman and Mitchell then proceeded to interrupt Riley so that he could not articulate another sentence, until Mitchell could change the topic.

  10. Tina says:

“Race is the wild card in all this. The idea that you can tell who is innocent and who is guilty by the color of their skin is a notion that was tried out for generations, back in the days of the Jim Crow South. I thought we had finally rejected that kind of legalized lynch law. But apparently it has only been put under new management.” ~ Thomas Sowell

  11. Tina says:

Little Green footballs is about on par with Gateway Pundit in terms of credibility. The truth will come out but you should know Dewey, that no one here has claimed to have the truth. Peggy wrote, ” if the police officer’s story is true that Michael Brown fought with him and tried to take his gun, then the shooting is justified.” she isn’t drawing conclusions as you seem to think.

If the race baiting, ginned up protest, threats of violence against the police officer, lawless violence and looting and mayhem were not going on we would have a better picture of what actually happened.

Leftist politics and financial gain from race baiting is more important than equal justice for Brown’s family or for the officer. That is disgusting!

Justice is served when the truth is discovered.

The circus surrounding this incident and death is NOT justice…it is lawlessness and an attempt at vigilante justice.

  12. Peggy says:

Here Dewey, compare these contrasting interviews. Hopefully, it will help you to understand the what and why that’s going on in Ferguson, MO.
