Anti Free Speech DNC, “Get Rid of Rush Limbaugh”

rush_limbaughPosted by Tina

Breitbart has news of the Democrat National Party starting a petition drive/fundraiser to get 300,00 signatures aimed at removing Rush Limbaugh from the airwaves. Are they insane or just really really mean-spirited, underhanded, creepy little people? Here’s the scoop:

Using the subject header, “PETITION: Rush Limbaugh off the air,” the hysterical email reads:

3OO,OOO Signatures Needed: Demand Rush Limbaugh’s sponsors pull their ads after his sexual assault comments.

Sandra Fluke has been the target of disgusting, sexist comments from Rush Limbaugh before. So his latest abhorrent rant is no surprise to her.

Stand with Sandra and help us hit 3OO,OOO signatures today to put real pressure on Rush’s advertisers to drop him once and for all:

Yes, the very same Democrats who joined President Bill Clinton’s crusade to personally destroy every woman who accused him of harassment, assault, and rape (Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones [with whom Clinton settled out of court], Juanita Broderick) are accusing Limbaugh of being a rape apologist.

The truth is that Limbaugh was talking about a proposed policy at Ohio State that would require explicit permission between students before engaging in any kind of sexual activity. Here’s what Limbaugh said in full. He starts by quoting the proposal:

“Consent must be freely given, can be withdrawn at any time, and the absence of ‘no’ does not mean ‘yes.'”

How many of you guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that “no” means “yes” if you know how to spot it? Let me tell you something. In this modern world, that is simply not tolerated. People aren’t even gonna try to understand that one. I mean, it used to be said it was a cliche. It used to be part of the advice young boys were given. See, that’s what we gotta change. We have got to reprogram the way we raise men. Why do you think permission every step of the way, clearly spelling out “why”… are all of these not lawsuits just waiting to happen if even one of these steps is not taken?

Targeting of political “enemies” is apparently the only ammunition left to a party that has failed so miserably at leading the nation to prosperity, safety, and security. The tactics are despicable and include personal attacks, threats, bribery, deceit, and division.

Whatever your opinion of Rush Limbaugh or his positions, free speech should be a point all Americans rally behind and support. The radicals of the Democrat Party and the DNC do not stand for free speech and should be roundly condemned for this despicable organized effort to eliminate the Limbaugh show by collecting signatures to threaten his sponsors.

You must not be using the term “free speech” in a constitutional sense.

What freedom of speech means, in the context of the constitution, is that the government cannot block people from, or punish people for, engaging in speech the government does not like.

But the Democrats behind this are not petitioning the government. They are petitioning Rush Limbaugh’s sponsors, who are under no constitutional obligation to continue funding his show.

This is not an issue of free speech. This is an issue of the free market. And in a free market, putting pressure on corporations to stop associating with and funding a controversial public figure is a completely legitimate expression of speech.

The protesters are exercising their right to free speech with this petition, and they are not in any way suggesting that Rush Limbaugh should be denied that same right.

    Also, this:

“How many of you guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that “no” means “yes” if you know how to spot it? Let me tell you something. In this modern world, that is simply not tolerated. People aren’t even gonna try to understand that one. I mean, it used to be said it was a cliche. It used to be part of the advice young boys were given.”

Is f***ing disgusting and irredeemable, and I can’t imagine why any self-respecting man or woman would defend it.

I accept your legal rendering of my remarks but I stick by my assertion that radicals at the DNC “…do not stand for free speech and should be roundly condemned for this despicable organized effort to eliminate the Limbaugh show by collecting signatures to threaten his sponsors.

There are legal standards and then there are patriotic standards. Your party left America and the patriotic standard long ago in favor of Marx, Alinsky, Mao, Che, and the rest of the socialist comrades who favor dirty tricks, propaganda, and eliminating the opposition over open competition.

Evelyn Beatrice Hall wrote, as an illustration of Voltaire’s belief’s, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”. The sentiment has traditionally been embraced by patriotic Americans (of all political stripes)…the sixties boomers and those who influenced them, turned away.

“Is f***ing disgusting and irredeemable, and I can’t imagine why any self-respecting man or woman would defend it.”

Well sure Darlin because you live in the feminist PC bubble in which girls are free to do as they like and boys are taught that women are their own boss so you need special permisso for every move…course, you’re screwed if she happens to be a B.

Rush Limbaugh was raised to be a gentleman, to assume nothing, to treat women with respect, and never make a move unless it was clear that the woman was interested and both would follow the natural signals of respectful people in love…which at times might include, “Don’t“…”stop”…”don’t“…”stop”…don’t stop!!!

    Good grief Chris…lighten up!

I believe the joke was featured in more than one fifties movie…possibly Houseboat with Sophia Loren and Cary Grant?

The new rules are ridiculous but have become “necessary” simply because the old rules (That the vast majority followed) were thrown out in favor of girl power, free love, sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Boys/men were instructed by the females around them that the old rules were no longer necessary….DON”T open my door I can do it myself.

    Off topic.

This is going around on FaceBook. I hadn’t seen or heard of this before. There are several other videos linked to this that continues the discussion.

  6. Tina says:

Regarding Peggy at #4. thanks for the information. Sounds like a few of those people might be trolls (See tomorrows front page)

It might be fun to start a campaign to gather signatures of those who only shop at places that support Rush…he has a record of making people a lot of money just from an offhand endorsement.

    People! We’re a mess 😉

  7. Chris says:

So “No means no” is now a ridiculous PC rule that mean feminists made up to oppress men, and men who don’t believe that “No means no” are true “gentlemen.”

    Insane. INSANE.

  8. Chris says:

Also, why is it not surprising that there is so much overlap between the subset of people who hate feminism and dismiss sexual assault, and the subset of people who get all their ideas about gender from ’50s movies?

    From Peggy’s Blaze link:

“The “Rush Limbaugh Show” says its investigation has discovered the secret behind the Stop Rush campaign that has sought to pressure the program’s advertisers: it’s pushed by progressive activists and even violates Twitter rules.”

    GAME CHANGER

  9. Chris says:

Rush Limbaugh complains that we pay too much attention to sexual assault victims and too little to attacks on conservatives:

What a gentleman! I can see why you’d swoon, Tina. Who knows, maybe you could be Wife #5!

  11. Tina says:

Peggy it’s always fun to revisit video of The Great Communicator. There was another gentleman who managed to deflect with humor…thanks!

  12. Tina says:

I can’t think of a single controversial left winger host that exploits current events to get a few laughs or poke fun at the opposition. Certainly no one on the left has ever said anything derogatory about Republican women…lefties treat all women with the utmost respect, right?

Bill Clinton, for instance, could be the most famous of those who is known for his deep regard for women.

In fact when various women came forward to reveal the many delicate ways that Bill Clinton had treated them the feminist liberal press were right on top of the story.

Left wing talkers, now there’s a gentlemanly bunch! They wouldn’t dream of using filthy language to describe a republican woman…or later make up some lame excuse.

Prominent internet publications of the left would never consider vulgar sensational headlines because they are principled feminists with only the highest regard for all women.

Wow! I can see why the left spends so much time exposing the right wing and sit atop such high pillars of morality and goodness…who wouldn’t with such a long sterling record of decency, inclusion, fairness, good manners and gentlemanly behavior.

  13. Chris says:

    Tina,

    You are deflecting.

Whether or not the left has a similar record of sexism and misogyny has nothing to do with whether you should continue to support sexism and misogyny on your side.

I have no idea if the rape allegations against Bill Clinton are true, and neither do you. We weren’t there. I hope that if they are true, the victim gets some kind of justice some day. I have no interest in defending rapists.

We DO know that Rush Limbaugh has a pattern of publicly denigrating women, so your comparison makes no sense.

I’ve addressed the Bill Maher thing before. I think he’s an asshole. Sexist language against any woman is sexist language against ALL women. The left should stop supporting him and using the excuse of comedy. If the right wants to launch a petition to get sponsors to drop Maher for his sexist language, I’d sign.

I’ve also acknowledged sexist sluts targeting Michele Malkin several times. The Huffington Post was absolutely wrong to publish that article.

I don’t have trouble saying that, because I don’t feel beholden by some kind of blood oath to never speak badly of The Party.

“The other side does it too” is not a good argument, or a good excuse. I’ve stopped using it. You should too.

  14. Peggy says:

#6 Tina, how about we start a petition here on PS to stop certain people from participating?

This is about free speech and who is in control of the participants, right?

  15. Dewey says:

Lions and Tigers and bears Oh No!

So the petition is free speech right?

So what’s the problem if people want a bigot to be addressed?

“How many of you guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that “no” means “yes” if you know how to spot it? Let me tell you something. In this modern world, that is simply not tolerated. People aren’t even gonna try to understand that one. I mean, it used to be said it was a cliche. It used to be part of the advice young boys were given.” –

No means NO……… So now men should have the right to tell a woman what she really means! LOL what a sham!

News Flash Women do not need Men to tell them what they mean.

Rush spews hateful crap all day as a shock jock. A known drug addict who often reads things as news when they are a paid advertisement.

Dick Army blew the whistle already.

How about conservatives leave everybody else alone and give them the right to freedom, the right to make up their own minds?

Funny part is Rush is bad for the conservative vote…. keep on defending him, he helps women see why conservatives are not for Liberty and Justice for all nor stand by the Constitution.

Why is it that only Conservatives have rights and know everything? Why is it OK to force the conservative ideology on everyone and take away the free speech of others?

The petition is within constitutional rights. So what’s the problem?

Personally I would love to see Rush loose his show due to a rise in intelligence. If we had a more educated population no one would listen to him.

Oh yea he is loosing some of those new stations Clear Channel gave him. Ya know they knocked off any non conservative and gave Rush all the airwaves… it is back firing

Guess what I will say what I want when I want and if a woman says no I will respect her.

I guess I just do not need to force myself on a woman have no problem in that dept. Those who do well…. No means NO. try looking inside to see why they say no.

  16. Dewey says:

Thanks for letting me know it existed, I just went and signed it because of this post.

  17. Tina says:

Hmmm…the advice from a professional (recent post) advises ignoring the buggers. If that doesn’t help we might have to resort to such.

Nobody enjoys discussion when it devolves into mean mud slinging and civility is not maintained. It’s a challenge for the simple reason that we are all human and capable of having buttons pushed. Still it does seem that some exist for the sole purpose of doing harm and that clutters the blog in a way that removes all vestiges of enjoyment.

  18. Chris says:

HUUUGE TYPO in my comment #13!

    The following:

“I’ve also acknowledged sexist sluts targeting Michele Malkin several times. The Huffington Post was absolutely wrong to publish that article.”

    Should read:

“I’ve also acknowledged sexist SLURS targeting Michele Malkin…”

In attempting to condemn sexist slurs against a conservative woman, I accidentally typed a sexist slur against liberal women!

    Forgive me for the error.

  19. Chris says:

Peggy: #6 “Tina, how about we start a petition here on PS to stop certain people from participating?”

That would be well within your rights. Jack and Tina don’t have any constitutional obligation to publish anyone’s comments, and if they chose to censor or ban me, I’d be disappointed, but I’d be under no illusion that they’d be violating my rights to free speech.

“This is about free speech and who is in control of the participants, right?”

No. Free speech does not mean that citizens have no right to petition advertisers, or that Rush Limbaugh has a right to have advertisers sponsor him even if they don’t want to. Rush Limbaugh is and would remain free to say whatever he wants even if he lost every single one of his sponsors. He just wouldn’t have a show anymore.

Don’t conservatives usually say that no one has a right to anything that other people have to give you?

  20. Chris says:

Tina: “Nobody enjoys discussion when it devolves into mean mud slinging and civility is not maintained.”

Tina, do you honestly believe that Rush Limbaugh doesn’t devolve into mud slinging and maintains civility on his show?

  21. Chris says:

Well, that’s just crazy. How is insulting Danica Patrick as a woman driver civil? How is saying that no doesn’t always mean no civil?

Tina, do you understand the very real danger in teaching boys and girls that no doesn’t always mean no, and that boys should continue making advances at women who have already verbally rejected them? Do you see how that mentality could easily lead to the very kind of sexual assault Rush claims is not that big of a deal?

  22. Peggy says:

This can go on until no one will be allowed to speak, because someone will be offended.

  23. Chris says:

While I’m at it, how is constantly calling the First Lady “Moo-chelle” and making fat jokes about her (despite the fact that she’s one of the most fit, athletic First Ladies ever) civil? How is comparing gay marriage to bestiality and pedophilia civil? How is accusing Michael J. Fox of exaggerating his condition civil? How is saying that women who protest against sexual assault are just jealous because no one sexually assaults them civil? How is lying about Sandra Fluke’s testimony to claim she was talking about her sex life, calling her a slut, and demanding video of her having sex civil? How is lying about Beyonce’s lyrics and claiming that now that she has been “impregnated” she understands the need to “bow down” to one’s husband civil?

How is calling Chelsea Clinton the White House dog civil? How is calling NOW “whores for liberalism” civil? (You brought up calling Malkin a “whore for the far right as an example of sexism on the left and I agreed with you, so you must also believe that this is an example of Rush’s sexism.)

How is blaming women for the Anthony Weiner scandal civil? How is suggesting that women wear burkas if they don’t want to be sexually assaulted civil?

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/03/22/rush-limbaugh-s-sexist-beyonc-rant-and-gross-history-of-women-bashing.html

    It’s not, Tina. It’s not.

  24. Chris says:

Peggy, if Schneider were advertising McDonalds I’d agree that his positions on vaccination are irrelevant to his employment, but he’s being used as a spokesman for a health insurance company. I’m not a part of this protest but I can see why some are. The anti-vaccination movement has done a lot of damage to Americans’ understanding of health, so I can see why people informed on the science would not want him representing a health insurance company.

Rob’s quote about “freedom of speech” still does not apply. He doesn’t have any constitutional right to not have his speech criticized, and employers can fire employees if their speech negatively impacts the perception of the company. If protesters want to use the market to get State Farm to drop him, that is within their rights.

  25. Dewey says:

Hypocrisy at Best Tina come on. I still think you are jack but maybe I am wrong. Why not have a real debate real time with camera’s might be fun!

No woman would stick up for Rush’s misogynist language in person.

No means NO that is all

Men are not to tell a woman what she really means frankly show me a man that truly understands women….. Not Rush!

He is getting rich and laughing all the way to the bank off bigots who listen.
