Does Obama Really Love His Country?

by Jack

It’s been called into question recently in the media, does our president really loves his country? I don’t pretend to know the answer and I doubt anyone reading this would either. Sure, we can observe his conduct and the measure his success as an administrator of this nation’s great wealth and power, but that doesn’t tell the whole story.

The deeper question can only be answered by those closest to him. If we look at his friends and family, say for instance his pastor of 17 years, it might give us an idea of his thoughts. Others, like his mother, father or grandparents are likely to tell us a lot too.

These are some really strange far left people, almost militant in some cases. Anyway… Sean Hannity dared to ask this tough question about Obama’s love for his country today on network television and then he followed with this, “If you love your husband or your wife, do you want to fundamentally transform them?’ I think he made a great point.

    Totally agree Jack. If you love someone you don’t try to change them or transform them as Obama has said he planned to do to America.

    This doesn’t mean he’s not patriotic. He just has a different vision of what America is based on his background going all of the way back to his childhood and those who raised him and influenced his understanding of what this country is.

    Also, remember Michelle said:

    “Speaking in Milwaukee, Wisconsin today, would-be First Lady Michelle Obama said, “for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”

    Then in Madison, she said, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”

    Perfect timed examples of those who love America.

    —-

    Once upon a time, when our politicians did not tend to apologize for our country’s prior actions, here’s a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our great country.

    JFK’S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60’s when DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of
    France as soon as possible.

    Rusk responded, “Does that include those who are buried here?” DeGaulle did not respond.

    You could have heard a pin drop.

    ~~~~~~~
    When in England, at a fairly large conference,
    Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury
    if our plans for Iraq were just an example of ’empire building’ by George Bush.
    He answered by saying, “Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders.
    The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.”
    You could have heard a pin drop.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American.

    During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?”

    A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly:

    “Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with
    the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day,
    they can produce several thousand gallons of
    fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.

    We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?”

    You could have heard a pin drop.

    A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference
    that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.

    Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks, but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.

    He then asked, “Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?”

    Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied,
    “Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.”

    You could have heard a pin drop.

    AND
    THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE..

    Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83,
    arrived in Paris by plane.

    At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.

    “You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked sarcastically.

    Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France
    previously.

    “Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”

    The American said, “The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”

    “Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France!”

    The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then, he quietly explained, “Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchman to show a passport to.”

    You could have heard a pin drop.

    If you are PROUD to be an American, pass this on!
    If not, delete it.

    Observing his performance over the last 6+ years, it appears that Obumble loves campaigning, reading his teleprompter, photo-ops, golfing, lavish white house parties and jetting around the country on the taxpayer’s dime, but certainly not America.
    Ditto for the first lady.

  4. Libby says:

    This is just more of that “love it or leave it” poop of the intellectual sort promulgated by the “haves” at the expense of the “have nots” … and maybe the “have nots” ain’t gonna tolerate it no more.

    There’s a scary thought for you.

    Jack, it is not the best of all possible worlds. Why should attempts to make it better terrify you so?

    • Post Scripts says:

      Libby, after all this time I’m surprised you still don’t get me? Libs, I’m not terrified, I’m concerned. That’s a huge difference.

      I worry about the future of this country, but I’m not terrified. Its why I write about things that I see are unfair or in need of fixing. I figure my voice will be added to all the other voices and then maybe we can fix what needs fixing. Or sometimes defend what needs defending. Its that simple. (It’s what citizens are supposed to do.)

      I think if there’s anyone terrified here, it’s you. You’re so fearful (and jealous) you need “big brother” to take care of you and give you “free” stuff. Well, it’s not really free is it? But, it doesn’t come out of your pocket and that’s the important thing if you are a liberal democrat.

    I’m flabbergasted! You really have to be on top of the media clown car.

    All this is just because Rudy Giuliani tried to say Obama did not love his country. He failed.

    The media responded back. Giuliani’s father was a thug. He robbed the milkman at gunpoint.
    He did not serve in WW2 cause he was a felon.

    Then they came back with Obama’s Grandfather served in WW2 and was in the main fights.

    I am laughing at all the idiots media. Rudy kind of stepped in it.

    This is the best times in the media! If you missed all that then you are missing all the fun!.

    I am sorry but for me GW Bush is the worst in history. It has nothing to do with Party. I do not like the patriot act. Every president from here on out will support that and his NDAA> I prefer my freedom.

    My worst fear is that Americans allow the media to dictate a Bush/Clinton election for the establishment.

    They are both not what the country needs.

    Anyway google around enjoy the fun!

  8. Tina says:

    Maybe the question is, does Obama love this country as designed or is his love rooted in his own vision for remaking, reshaping…fundamentally transforming it?

    I come down on the side that says he loves his vision of what America should be. As such he finds our Constitution too limiting for those in power. This demonstrates a total lack of appreciation for the document that was meant to limit the power of our leaders and that gave ultimate power to the people and the states. It shows a fundamental lack of appreciation for the value of freedom and individual urge. It shows lack of respect for the rule of law and the office he holds.

    Obama’s desire to fundamentally transform America reflects his vision which, as his history would indicate, is aligned with Marxism or fascism. These models rob the people of freedom, dignity, and the ability to be the author of ones own story. These models reduce the stature of citizens to that of serf or simply a nameless, faceless part of the masses. It is cold, calculating and ultimately favors and rewards only those who climb to positions of leadership.

    Those of us with a deep appreciation for America and her Constitution, for individual freedom and rights, for individual property rights, and for the personal sense of morality and responsibility required in individuals to preserve these freedoms and rights see the obvious flaws in Obama’s “love” of America.

    He, like Libby, does not see this nation as one of equal opportunity for all citizens. He does not want the people to have power in their own lives. He prefers to think in terms of race, class and, as Libby does, in terms of the have’s and have not’s. In this context the all powerful state becomes the great equalizer, indeed is obligated to “level the playing field,” to take from those who produce and have to give to those who don’t, regardless of effort and sacrifice or lack thereof.

    There is no perfect model of government. Mankind is incapable of perfection. But the American model has proven to deliver a better life and better opportunity for its citizens than any other across the globe.

    The Obama vision reflects failed models. A model that seeks to control every aspect of it’s citizens lives. This model has always lead to mass poverty and decline in the masses and wealth accumulated with the elite few.

    We need not look to Obama’s rhetoric to discover his love of America. Of course he would say he loves America…but what America does he love? Certainly not the America I love.

    Since Guilainni’s remarks appear to be monopolizing the news I thought I’d share some really important news that is getting very little media coverage.

    Clintons’ foundation has raised nearly $2 billion — and some key questions:

    “Since its creation in 2001, the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation has raised close to $2 billion from a vast global network that includes corporate titans, political donors, foreign governments and other wealthy interests, according to a Washington Post review of public records and newly released contribution data.

    The total, representing cash and pledges reported in tax filings, includes $262 million that was raised in 2013 — the year Hillary Rodham Clinton stepped down as secretary of state and began to devote her energies to the foundation and to a likely second run for president.

    The financial success of the foundation, which funds charitable work around the world, underscores the highly unusual nature of another Clinton candidacy. The organization has given contributors entree, outside the traditional political arena, to a possible president. Foreign donors and countries that are likely to have interests before a potential Clinton administration — and yet are ineligible to give to U.S. political campaigns — have affirmed their support for the family’s work through the charitable giving.

    The Clintons have relied heavily on their close ties to Wall Street, with donations from the financial services sector representing the largest share of corporate donors.

    And many of the foundation’s biggest donors are foreigners who are legally barred from giving to U.S. political candidates. A third of foundation donors who have given more than $1 million are foreign governments or other entities based outside the United States, and foreign donors make up more than half of those who have given more than $5 million.

    The prevalence of financial institutions, both foreign and domestic, as major donors is likely to stir more unease in the Democratic Party’s liberal base, which is pushing Hillary Clinton to adopt a more populist and less Wall Street-focused economic agenda. The role of interests located in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Argentina may spur questions about the independence of a potential commander in chief who has solicited money from foreign donors with a stake in the actions of the U.S. government.

    The donor list shows that the foundation has relied most heavily on seven donors that have each given more than $25 million, including a foundation established by a Canadian mining magnate, Frank Giustra; the national lottery of Holland; and Chicago-based Democratic donor Fred Eychaner.

    Other major donors giving at lower levels run the gamut of industries and interests, such as the investment banking firm Goldman Sachs, beverage giant Coca-Cola, and the governments of Oman, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.”

  10. Peggy says:

    Proof of Obama’s type of love he has for American can be viewed by what he’s done and said for the past six years.

    He has to hold the record for the most lawsuits filed against him for violating the Constitution, ObamaCare, amnesty, state voting rights, etc. etc.

    The list is long and varied, and an indication of just how much he has wanted to change America into what he envisioned it to be from what the Founders worked so hard to establish for us and future generations.

  11. Jack says:

    I think the media is finally asking the questions about Obama that should have been asked a long time ago.

    I admire Rudy Giuliani (who asked about Obamas love for his country) for his wisdom and as a patriot. He was a hero in 9/11. But, there’s not much about Obama admire, just the opposite, if you are seeing clearly.

    Obama came into the presidency with a clean slate and whatever we think of him now was entirely his own doing.

    The LUNATIC LEFT can defend him all they want, but Obama’s actions speak for themselves.

  12. Harold says:

    My opinion on Obamas’ love of America, is simply his love of America as a nation will always be second to his visions of slaying the imperial beast, as he sees it.

    His love of this country stops immediately where his ideology begins, and that feeling of love appears ever so limited.

    Actually the fable of the Scorpion and the frog really sums up Obama and people like him:

    http://www.allaboutfrogs.org/stories/scorpion.html

    However if there is a failing of anyone’s love for what America, it is systemic in the political roots of entitlements, and more directly the voters who put people like Obama in office, being easily manipulate with misinformation and promises of rewarded sloth. His second term proves that.

    I was taught ‘that earning it yourself allows you to appreciate the rewards’, and that using ones own self reliance and less Government will always be my reason to help guide our country.

    But Obama is no better than a roadside panhandler holding a contrived sign of guilt and apologies, hoping the message will appease the masses.

    There will always be a need for Government ,but that need should be LIMITED Government guidelines and not the expansive Government has caused the burgeoning of the entitlement class, the current Governments thinking (Obama) has harmed and caused ever abusive and expansion of costly Government programs, that really are dividing our America.

    Now, if you can directly assist someone along the way with a hand up, not a hand out, you will do more for a better America and a stronger society.

  15. Tina says:

    GWB did what he thought was necessary to keep Americans safe when he created the NSA program. As with most government departments we assume, rightly or wrongly, that those implementing the program will do so with integrity, faithfulness, and loyalty to America and American principles.

    Unfortunately, our current enemy requires extraordinary measures and unfortunately the people in charge in our government are not all responsible, loyal, or faithful to America and American ideals.

    When Nixon created the EPA he could not have anticipated the current abuses of power within this department but they are plentiful.

    A smaller federal government is needed to stop such abuses of power…but what to do to track the plans, funding and activities of terrorists bent on murdering Americans? maybe instead of criticizing the NSA program we should be holding our citizens, and particularly our leaders, to higher standards.

  16. J. Soden says:

    Well said Peggy #14, Jack #15, and Harold #16!

  17. Peggy says:

    This Rasmussen poll is spot on when it comes to how Obama and Democrats believe our country should be run.

    Democrats Say They Want President Obama to Ignore the Rule of Law – But There’s a Catch:

    “The battle over how much power a president should have is as old the country itself. With court cases related to President Obama’s immigration executive order and Obamacare winding their way through the system, the debate over executive power is set to resume.

    Normally, when courts rule against a president or Congress refuses to pass a law the president wants, the president obeys the decision. However, President Obama has shown a willingness to use his “pen and phone” to go around Congress and there is some concern that he would be willing to ignore a court ruling.

    When you combine this with the disproportionate support among Democrats for things such as legislation to track and ban “hate speech,” it’s clear that many Democrats have no problem with using government power to push for things they want. In other words, the catch is that the majority of Democrats have no problem with a president violating the rule of law – as long as they agree with him.

    On controversial matters like war powers, Democrats are much more likely to disagree – meaning they want to pick and choose not only when the law is followed, but they want a president who follows the law when they disapprove of any potentially disagreeable action he might take.

    Simply put, they want to have their legal cake and eat it too. That’s not why the Constitutional rule of law was put into place: It’s a set of rules put into place to prevent the country from breaking out into anarchy and social conflict simply because a majority wants to impose its will on a minority.”

    Barack Obama, during his Cairo speech, said: “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America ‘s history.”

    AN AMERICAN CITIZEN’S RESPONSE

    Dear Mr. Obama:

    Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

    Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

    Can you show me one Muslim signature on the: United States Constitution?
    Declaration of Independence ?
    Bill of Rights?
    Didn’t think so.

    Did Muslims fight for this country’s freedom from England ? No.

    Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did not.
    In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half-brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as “pug nosed slaves.” Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family’s “rich Islamic heritage,” doesn’t it Mr. Obama?

    Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country?
    Not present.

    There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

    Where were Muslims during this country’s Woman’s Suffrage era?
    Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the ‘hajib’ or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women’s rights, aren’t they?

    Where were Muslims during World War II?
    They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi’s in killing Jews.

    Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001?
    If they weren’t flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very “moderate” Muslims whose asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

    And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the “rich heritage” Muslims have here in America ….

    Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslims.

    And now we can add November 5, 2009 – the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan, the killing of 2 Canadian soldiers Nov. 2014 and the murder of 4 Jewish people in their Synagogue Nov 2014, the axing of 2 policemen in the USA in Nov 2014, yeah they are peace loving…..right!

    Also, don’t forget the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15.2013 was done by 2 Muslim Brothers. That, Mr. Obama is the “Muslim heritage” in America

    Muslim Heritage, my ass!

  20. Tina says:

    Our president speaks in catch phrases and carefully avoids fleshing them out. Who knows what he thinks when he says that, “Islam has always been a part of America ‘s history.”

    There is some recorded history of Muslims in our early history. Since they can apparently be counted on the fingers of a single hand I’d say the Presidents remarks are questionable and probably intentionally misleading.

    It should also be noted that there were Muslim victims on 911:

    The victims were 28 Muslims who died in the twin towers of the World Trade Center, in addition to three Muslims who were among the passengers on two hijacked planes; one of them crashed on a Pennsylvania field before it reached its target, and the second one hit the Pentagon.

    The Muslims victims in the 9/11 attacks were as follows: six from Pakistan, six from Bangladesh, four from Guiana, two from Sri Lanka, two from Gambia, two from Ivory Coast, and 1 from Yemen, one from Iran, one from Ethiopia, one from Turkey, one from Trinidad and Tobago, one from Burma, one from Albania, one from Greece and one from India, representing 1.07 percent of the total number of victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, which is the same percentage of Muslims in the United States.

    The most famous Muslim victim is the only Arab among all 9/11 victims, the Yemeni Abdul Salam Mallahi, who worked at the Marriott Hotel in World Trade Center. He was very brave and helped people escape the building. His body has never been found.

    The oldest victim was an Iranian woman who was 69 years old, and the youngest were two 25-year-old men, Zohoto Ibis, from Tukey, and a Pakistani, Khaled Shahid.

    If Obama is going to make such a claim he should have examples at hand to back it up. Pandering and appeasing don’t usual include truth or facts.
