U.C. Berkley Anti-White Protest

Posted by Tina

This sickening story is posted on Zero Hedge:

Student protesters at the University of California-Berkeley gathered in front of a bridge on campus and forcibly prevented white people from crossing it. Students of color were allowed to pass. … activists appeared to let several students of color pass unmolested, but white students were forced to find other routes. A few who tried to force their way through were violently rebuffed. Protesters shouted “Go around! Go around!” at a white man on a bicycle. … Another student was told, “This is bigger than you,” by a protester. “This is about whiteness.”… Afterward, the protest moved to the campus bookstore, where activists posted an eviction notice informing the owners that their building was being reclaimed as a safe space for queer and trans students. … “You are hereby notified by the students of the University of California, Berkeley, to vacate the premises immediately,” the eviction notice stated. “University administration wrongly allocated this two-story facility to a third-party corporation, keeping in line with its intensifying legacy of prioritizing financial profit over student needs.”

I get that they are trying to make a point—they don’t think campus is a safe place for marginalized students, etc. – but racism in the service of activism is still racism. These students consider themselves progressives, but what’s progressive about punishing people—making it more difficult for them to get to class—because they were born with the wrong skin color? (emphasis mine)

Issues of race and gender have been pushed to the forefront for over five decades of my life. As a white person I’ve tolerated blaming and shaming for attitudes I’ve never held and accepted preferences, set asides, and special accommodations to “make amends. I’m not alone. Most of America has embraced equality, acceptance, and diversity in our culture.

At first this new anti-white trend made me sad. Now I’m getting angry. I don’t exist as a group named “white.” I don’t think of other individuals in terms skin color groups. I deeply resent this attitude and once again…I’m not alone. What happens when push comes to shove?

    ” I don’t exist as a group named ‘white’.”

You do, actually. And your denial is, as always, the problem. Although I do deplore their lack of any semantic adroitness, “whiteness” is a symbol for the dominant class, and believe me, I traverse, the campus every day, and the dominance of whiteness on the campus is impressive, especially contrasted with the surrounding community.

The UC system is not an easy row for undergrads. The classes are huge, the bureaucracy daunting, and the whole experience damnably expensive. Those who come to it without a strong sense of entitlement are gonna be thoroughly intimidated. However, designated “zones of color” is certainly not the answer. It seems to me they need to make their own safety zones. The protest was a rather graceless attempt, but cannot be condemned outright. I hope the administration is taking note.

Overall, the youngsters were being youngsters. This really should not “sicken” you.

The fact that you notice the “demographics” at Berkley is evidence that you think of people in terms of color groups rather than as individual human beings and equality in terms of outcome rather than merit and achievement. It is this thinking that corrupts the ideal of equality and promotes division in our nation.

Please note I did not say the “youngsters” sicken me. I wrote the trend sickens me. One of the reasons it sickens me is that these “youngsters” have been taught this racist stuff in school. It sickens me because Democrats push the promotion of this racist stuff and it reminds me of the old racist roots of the Democrat Party. Democrats like race (and gender) divisions. They use group divisions in election cycles as a path to power. They promote hatred and distrust as a means to political power. Disgusting!

You seem to be old enough to remember the sixties lament that racist attitudes were taught. It was one of the things that prompted MLK to speak those famous words, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

This is not a just campus thing. Anti-white sentiment is being promoted by radical activist elements and that activism is funded by the likes of Democrat money man extraordinaire, George Soros.

      • Libby says:

The fact is you refuse to accept that there is a dominant class, that we are it, and that we do make other people feel marginalized.

        And don’t nitpick.

Furthermore, that these marginalized groups should organize and assert themselves seems to terrify you. Why? … fer heaven’s sake.

They gonna take your stuff? (Think about this now.)

        • Tina says:

Wrong! We don’t “make” anyone else feel marginalized. Each of us has a choice about our feelings. We can harm ourselves or we can evaluate ourselves and choose to rise above feelings and grow as a person.

I fully accept that the dominant class, as you call it, has been white in America. I DO NOT accept that this means whites have oppressed, marginalized, or abused other races or purposely kept them down over the last fifty to sixty years. In fact I’d say the opposite is true. Whites have bent over backwards to cheer lead for minorities!

Real stupidity is in spending energies that could be used to further oneself on complaining, harassing, and blaming another race. It’s living life as a victim…particularly when someone else has told you so.

There are, and always have been, plenty of underprivileged white folk who also don’t have the advantages of some of their fellow whites. In modern day America most whites have to work for what they get just like any other group of people.

There is also a growing number of wealthy, advantaged elites of color whose privilege can no longer be considered anomalies. In fact what this group represents is the FACT that in America the individual…ANY INDIVIDUAL…can create the life he wants simply by applying himself.

I’m not terrified you twit. I’m disgusted!

And I am pushing back at the misguided ignorant people who haven’t yet realized they are their own worst enemy and wasting their energies and youth on an absurdity.

More than that, I am pushing back against the slimy socialists, educators, and politicians that feed them this “white privilege” garbage and use them for their own personal gain.

    Ah, yes, the wonderful left.

Related, sort of … I find this hilarious.

The left loves to tout their propaganda/slur machine — the Southern Poverty Law Center — which has a habit of conflating bigotry and racism with non-left organizations they do not care for. Ever hear of the SPLC ever calling La Raza (The Race) racist? Of course not. It has the left-wing racist race-baiters seal of approval. Besides, we all should know by now that only white people can be racists.

Not that the SPLC always gets it wrong, after all, white supremacy groups do exist, no matter how small and marginalized they are. But the SPLCs credibility suffers with their long history of politicized corruption that permeates the organization and is typical of the left.

Well, now the SPLC has turned on its own, and over Islam, no less. You have to love it.

Sam Harris thinks it’s “unbelievable” that Maajid Nawaz and Ayaan Hirsi Ali made it to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hit list of “Anti-Muslim Extremists.” He said nothing about me or the other people whom the SPLC included, which is not surprising, since he has quite recently expressed willingness to acquiesce in other contexts to the demonization that the SPLC list exemplifies.

Hemant Mehta of The Friendly Atheist blog ably sums up the outrage over Nawaz and Hirsi Ali being included: “If criticizing religious beliefs makes them extremists, then it won’t be long before other vocal atheists end up on that list too. And make no mistake, that’s what Nawaz and Hirsi Ali are doing. That’s all they’re doing. They’re not anti-Muslim; they work with moderate Muslims. They’re critical of the worst aspects of Islam.”

Selective outrage: Leftist, atheist critics of Islam enraged that SPLC hit list of Islam critics includes leftists and atheists

    • Tina says:

Absolutely related, Pie, and not at all surprising. The hidden leftist agenda (supreme, centralized power) is at the bottom of this.

The radical left does not win on ideals…they need an enemy and this is how they create them.

    • Libby says:

“… after all, white supremacy groups do exist, no matter how small and marginalized they are.”

Well, they were, until Trump came along. Now we got this sort of thing all over the place.

      THE CALIFORNIA REPORT
Texas Refinery Worker Charged in Richmond Hate Crime Comes Forward
      By Ted Goldberg
      OCTOBER 27, 2016
One of the men charged in the brutal attack on a member of the East Bay’s large Sikh community has contacted authorities for the first time, a month after the assault.

Colton Leblanc of Winnie, Texas, recently posted $120,000 bail after federal agents began trying to track him down, according to a Contra Costa County prosecutor.

Leblanc and Chase Little of Beaumont, Texas, were charged earlier this month with felony assault with hate crime enhancements for allegedly beating up Maan Singh Khalsa, knocking off his turban and cutting a fistful of hair from his head near Richmond’s Hilltop Mall on Sept. 25.

Authorities say Leblanc and Little threw beer cans at Khalsa’s car before assaulting him through his open car window. The attack left Khalsa with a swollen black eye, damaged teeth and knife wounds to his left hand, leading to an infection that will require the amputation of one his fingers.

The two Texas men were in the area doing contract work at the Chevron refinery at the time. After the assault, they were fired from their jobs as refinery employees at a company tied to Koch Industries.

Another refinery worker, Dustin Albarado, was named in the attack and fired from the same company but will not be charged.

Police arrested Little the day of the attack and a bench warrant was later issued for Leblanc.

The FBI began work on apprehending him, but before he was detained he contacted authorities through a lawyer, said Contra Costa County Deputy Attorney Simon O’Connell.

“The attention prompted Leblanc to come forward,” O’Connell said in an email.

Leblanc posted bail without appearing in California and without being arrested.

Leblanc and Little are due to be arraigned in Contra Costa County court on Nov. 21.

Efforts to reach their attorneys were unsuccessful.

The Sikh Coalition, an advocacy organization that brought attention to the case, issued a statement after learning that Leblanc had come forward.

“We will monitor the next steps in this case closely but remain thankful that hate crime charges have been filed in this case because that’s the crucial first step for addressing the broader problem,” said the group’s legal director, Harsimran Kaur.

  3. Libby says:

The Sikhs choose not to take this quietly. Are you terrified?

    • Tina says:

Glad the criminals will face the music for the senseless and brutal attack and glad they were swiftly fired. But you are full of crap. These types of crimes have gone on for years and all kinds of people commit them. Trump has nothing to do with it and you know it!

The NY Post reported last year that hate crimes were up against Jews and Muslims.

Black crime is rarely, if ever, considered a hate crime but the attacks by blacks on whites and police officers has also spiked in recent years. Accuracy in Media:

black-on-white crime is substantially greater than the reverse. The table below shows murders by race of offender and victim in 2013. Note that overall, blacks kill as often as whites, although blacks represent only 13 percent of the population. Note also that black-on-white murder is more than double the rate of white-on-black murder (409 to 189). Similar results were found for 2012, 2011, 2010 and prior years.

If anyone is responsible for any of this crime it is our activist president who manages to create division and unrest wherever he goes intended or not!

Again the only Problem I see is the continuous Focus on Race here. Why is this the most important thing going on in your world?

Also why does a younger generation have to do anything for you? They are in their realm. They are the future. Last thing that matters is what some old White People think. The world they live in is a product of these old White People and nothing to be proud of.

Did ya know we are currently bombing in 7 countries?

This is a Title IX violation, yet you can bet that none of the designated reporters on campus filed a complaint on behalf of any white student on campus. The conservative white male student is enemy #1 on the Berkley campus.
