Teens Invoking Trump’s Name Beat a Mentally Disabled Man in Chicago…says CBS News

by Jack

CBS ran a breaking story yesterday evening about 4 people who attacked a mentally disabled man in Chicago, they were heard to be using the name Trump.  The implication was Trump supporters (white) were attacking a black man.   However, this is exactly the opposite of the truth.  CBS carefully omitted the parts where the attackers were shouting, “F— Trump!” and “F— white people!”

Will CBS be asked to explain running a story that was opposite of the truth?  I think we are owed an explanation, because this story was obviously altered for a reason.   Is this what the country can expect throughout Trump’s term in office?

A cell phone video made by the attackers of this vicious beating was put on FaceBook.  The public outcry pressured the Chicago police to take immediate action.  Following the arrests of the four, the Chief of Police  issued a statement saying they are still investigating  if this was a hate crime, however he added, it was more likely just “kids being stupid and trying to grab headlines.”

Apparently America has come a long way since my teen years.  See, in my day, kids doing something stupid would be like hitting a baseball threw a window, not kidnapping, torture, and beating a mentally disabled person nearly to death.

This story begs the question; if this was 4 white teens beating a black man and yelling, “F—- Obama” and “F—– black people” would there still be confusion if this was a hate crime?  I think not and I also think this will go down as part of Obama’s legacy.

Folks, we are truly living in a sick country when the media is too wrapped up in partisan politics to speak the truth because it might offend somebody.

Don Lemon of the Clinton Nasty Network didn’t think it (the attack) was evil, and Obumble thinks “It’s too early to tell if it was a hate crime.”

Both are sorry excuses for humanity and should be ashamed of themselves!

  2. Libby says:

    Yeah, me too.

    From CNN:

But fighting back takes allies in the legal system. They can be hard to find. Indeed, over the past year, I’ve been following a case in Idaho where a black, disabled teen was allegedly lured into the locker room by three white teammates from the football team. Court reports say he was grabbed and anally raped him with a coat hanger.

The local prosecutor, however, declined to press hate crime or sex crime charges, instead accepting a guilty plea to a lesser felony of “injury to a child,” which will carry no jail time.

“It’s not our belief that this was a racially motivated crime. This was more of a vulnerable-victim motivated crime,” the prosecutor said. “I think it probably would have happened to anybody that was in the same kind of circumstances and mental state as the victim here.”

    You ever gonna wise up?

    • Post Scripts says:

What do you want me to believe here Libby? You asked, “You every gonna wise up?” Wise up to what, that there are demented, sick people in the world? Am I supposed to believe there was equal criminality in both cases? Please be specific.

      • Libby says:

No. You’ve got brains that work. You figure it out.

        • Post Scripts says:

Libby, to be fair, please tell me, what was the criminal history of the football players before they stole that van? You know…the one they rode around in before they used knives on their victim and after they tied him up, forced him to drink from a dirty toilet and beat him severely? Wha…? They didn’t have a criminal history? They didn’t steal a van? They didn’t kidnap their victim? They didn’t force the victim to drink dirty toilet water? And they didn’t use a knife on him and they didn’t beat him? Well, other than that, it looks like these two crimes were almost identifical – so the black offenders should get probation just like the white offenders? Oh, almost forgot, were the high school football players even adults at the time?

Latest news update: “Jordan Hill, 18, of Carpentersville; Tesfaye Cooper, 18, of Chicago; Brittany Covington, 18, of Chicago; and Tanishia Covington, 24, of Chicago; were each charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and residential burglary, according to the Cook County state’s attorney. Hill was also charged with robbery and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Chicago police detectives laid out the timeline of events that led up to a man being tied up, kicked, beaten, yelled at, slashed and forced to drink toilet water – all of which was streamed live on Facebook.”

          • Libby says:

Wallowing in the details does not alter the fact that media-wise and civic response-wise the incidents are not being addressed in an equitable manner.

In the Chicago incident, you’re being insensed because the response is insufficiently savage … but you’re willing to go with “injury to a child” for the white boys?

Your bias is plain for all to see.

          • Tina says:

And for a period of 48 hours, reportedly.

Libby would call this treatment torture under different circumstances.

    • Pie Guevara says:

Hmmm, Lippy pulls up a case that appears to be a travesty of justice and demands that Jack “wise up?”

What the hell does that mean? What is the point? If it is that white perpetrators of violent crime against blacks routinely get away with such crime in this day and age, that is a total load of crap she cannot support.

Typical lying, pissant liberal talking crap.

    • Tina says:

You ever going to get the point?

The point in either case is that our government, our justice system, our education system, and YOU supporters of the left REFUSE to get behind the most important principle of our founding: “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal…”

It’s the reason we fought for civil rights when blacks were being denied basic rights of citizenship. The principle remains the same…forever in my opinion!

You on the left create special classes of people so that none are treated equally under the law, or, in reporting, in education or entertainment. You have made our system ” destructive of these ends.”

No system is perfect. Upholding the ideal that all men are created equal is important BECAUSE no system, or man, is perfect.

Your meddling has made a terrible mess of the most empowering documents any person has been privileged to live under. Jack points to an example. His point is well taken. The special interest system you’ve created ultimately hurts us all and undermines blind justice.

Do not shoot the messenger of one case, especially when he may not be aware of your “they do it too” case. (You do recall how agitated you’ve become when others point out that another group “does it too?” You likely missed the point then too)

  3. Harold says:

The Chief of Police statement saying it was more likely just “kids being stupid and trying to grab headlines.” what a crock of PC BS

And if you ever wondered why Chicago has such a high crime and murder rate, look no further than this police chiefs comment. He should be replaced, and let someone with a better understanding of law do the job.

This country has gone to he77 in Obamas 8 years of destruction, and that will be his legacy,

Jack is correct, there would not be any confusion, and BLM would be in the fore- front asking for heads to roll.

  4. Dewster says:

The attack on a special needs person is a hate crime. Disgusting.

When are you going to admit MSM is corrupt? Turn it off.

    • Tina says:

      “Turning it off” accomplishes nothing.

In this case we’d have to believe you think it’s not important to expose and discuss the garbage the MSM puts out. Sorry dude, but that’s flat out wrong. We citizens have a responsibility to expose such idiocy. At PS we are simply passing the word, and greater understanding about how our country is doing along to our readers.

    • Pie Guevara says:

A person is kidnapped and tortured and Dopey blames a “corrupt” MSM for reporting it???

Dopey, you truly are a DISGUSTING lunatic.

    • Tina says:

Pie you are an excellent writer. I would love to see an article (articles) by you, especially on this topic. Interested?

      • Pie Guevara says:

        I am reluctant because —

My disabilities and current ill health get in the way. I have other beasts to conquer and tire easily. I am also an extremely slow writer (composition, editing, fact checking) and typist (because of disability.) When I work at it, it can take me 12 hours just to craft 250 words to my satisfaction Writing is not my forte.

I may yet take up the challenge, but not until my health improves.

Thank you so much for the invitation. I may take you up on it later this year.

May God bless you and your all.

        • Tina says:

I was unaware of you current situation, Pie. I will put you in my prayers for a swift and full recovery.

The future will hold many opportunities on this topic so I hope you will consider writing something when you feel better. I’m a pretty good editor, maybe we could work together to get it done.

I too am a slow writer and for many of the same reasons. My arthritis has damaged my hands quite a bit. I can still type fairly fast (two fingers) but I make a lot of mistakes as I type. Thankfully I don’t mind the editing process…when I have time on my side.

Thank you for the blessing Pie…may He bless you as well.

  6. Tina says:

The attack is a crime against an equal human being! Isn’t it time to restore that dignity in our justice system?

His special needs may make it more emotionally heart wrenching for prople, the viciousness could well cause a judge or jury to move toward the harshest possible sentence, but this crime should be treated blindly according to the founding principle that all men are equal.

All crimes are not equal but all people are.

    • J. Soden says:

They’re gonna have to invent a new word to describe the attack. Despicable isn’t strong enough!

      • Tina says:

Seems like we have a lot of things going on for which our words seem terribly inadequate. We are living through mean times. As written in Mathew 24:12, “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

Just when you thought California could not possibly be more insane, along comes this story.

“A 57-year-old convicted killer serving a life sentence in California became the first U.S. inmate to receive state-funded sex-reassignment surgery, the prisoner’s attorneys confirmed Friday to The Associated Press.”

California funds 1st US inmate sex reassignment

I can’t wait for the demented duo to scoff at reporting this.

  9. Peggy says:

From below article. Have we hit a familiar low? Do we really want to find out? Adults have only themselves to blame.

“It’s no surprise that the lack of human conscience has reached such a crisis level in the city. William Golding already illustrated this for us in 1954 when he wrote Lord of the Flies. When kids are left alone on an island without any guidance from their parents, they turn into savages. As a fallen species, savagery is our default state. We need strong families, strict discipline, clear guidance, and a foundation of faith in order to grow beyond those impulses and develop into decent, civilized adults. Our consciences must be formed. They don’t come ready made. They come as clay and must be molded. If they aren’t, they will eventually dry up, turn to dust, and blow away in the wind.”

Matt Walsh: This was not merely a hate crime — it was much worse:

“This kind of thing isn’t even unique. The white man kidnapped and savagely tortured by a group of racist thugs wasn’t the first to fall victim to a hate crime of this sort in Chicago recently. It was only a few weeks ago that a white Trump supporter was dragged from his truck by a group of black teens and ruthlessly beaten in the middle of the street while a crowd of onlookers egged them on. A pattern is emerging. And it’s getting worse.

That said, I would tend to agree — though for vastly different reasons — that this atrocity was not a hate crime. It was worse. As is often the case with atrocities committed by teenagers in the inner city, it appeared that the primary motivation was not a hatred for the victim but a total indifference to him. They were not shouting in anger. They didn’t seem to be enraged at all. They were laughing. They were amused. They were having the time of their lives.

They didn’t abduct their victim and torture him because they had something against him. They abducted and tortured him because they thought nothing of him. They found his pain and fear to be utterly hilarious. It was all just a bit of recreation. They weren’t exacting revenge on an enemy — they were toying with an insect. They were pulling the legs off a grasshopper. The grasshopper happened to be a human being, but that distinction was meaningless in their eyes.

What really struck me about the video, and what always strikes me when another wave of rioting and arson breaks out ostensibly in response to “police brutality,” and what strikes me about the sky high murder rate in the inner city, etc., is that those responsible do not appear to have a conscience. Hatred, for them, would be a step up. Hatred is human. It’s emotional and passionate, albeit dangerously misdirected. But there’s something to work with. A hateful person feels something, at least. He feels the wrong things, but feeling the wrong thing is better than feeling nothing. And that’s what I see in the video: people who feel nothing. That’s what I see all over our cities, in fact.
