Wounded Warrior Project Vindicated!

Posted by Tina

False reporting by the NYT and CBS News about the Wounded Warrior Project last year harmed the charity and, more importantly, the wounded warriors they were helping. Accusations against the charity were devastating, including the erroneous charge that WWP spent lavishly on executives and administrative costs rather than on vets. Two of the founding members were asked to step down by the Board of Directors after the story broke.

An audit of past finances by FTI consulting and the Better Business Bureau recently showed “there was no ‘lavish spending’ on the part of WWP” and that “81% of contributions” went directly to injured vets.

The following is information gathered by NYT reporter Dave Philipps that showed WWP in a positive light. It was left out of his article and subsequent reporting by CBS News:

That employees told him that WWP saved their lives and even their marriages.

That Dan Nevins, an Army vet who lost both of his legs in Iraq literally cried about what WWP had done for him. Philipps laughed about it.

That WWP had awesome morale and the lowest employee turnover for any charity – half the industry standard.

That WWP had been voted the best non-profit to work for 3 years in a row – Philipps said it was worst.

That WWP set up a private health care network with $70 million over three years to 4 hospitals for injured veterans to receive free mental health counseling.

That WWP set up a Trust Fund with $100 million to take care of veterans whose parents couldn’t so they wouldn’t have to have the government put them into nursing homes.

That Al Giordano and Steve Nardizzi got rave reviews from the WWP Board of Directors for how they did their jobs… Every. Single. Year.

Charity auditor, “Charity Navigator,” was the source for the bogus Tmes article. This year they awarded WWP top honors, a 4-star rating, for the fiscal year 2015. At least they’ve made amends. The NYT and CBS have yet to make corrections.

What possible purpose was served by this horrid story?

In case you are so inclined you can contact WWP or get information about their activities here.

The fun and games continue (and will for some time). We are engaged in a political civil war. The political battles are going to be bloody, brutal, house-to-house and room-to-room CQB.

Good find on the faux “document” regarding temporary travel ban, RHT447! Judges were apparently fed the document to justify their legal challenges…so typical of the radical progressive left.

And Schummer is out today lambasting Trump for not nominating a more “mainstream” judge for the Supreme Court. Their judges are the ones that legislate from the bench.

The second link is a must read. It articulates the last leg of the long march of the radical progressive left…“The doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule.”

Absolutely correct. Radicals don;t want compromise or reaching across the aisle. They work against the Constitution, the law, and our balanced systems of government. They also do not teach in our schools. They brainwash.

I stand in solidarity with Webb.

The influence of radical sixties feminists is now apparent. They pursued an agenda that failed to make women less dependent and more accomplished in their own right. They became a force for societal and institutional destruction and often, phony achievement.
