Sean Spicer and his Hitler comment

Posted by Jack

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer earned widespread condemnation this week for comparing Adolf Hitler (favorably) with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, saying Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons” as Assad’s forces did in northern Syria on April 4. The horrific truth, of course, is that Hitler gassed some 6 million Jews, among others, in the death camps of the Holocaust. Spicer later apologized for his remarks, but the controversy revived a lingering mystery: Despite the fact that Nazi Germany stockpiled tons of sarin gas during World War II, Hitler chose not to employ it against the Allies, for reasons that remain unclear.

Hitler certainly had the opportunity to use sarin in World War II. The Nazis were actually the ones to develop the deadly nerve agent—accidentally. In late 1938, the German scientist Gerhard Schrader was tasked with inventing a cheaper pesticide to kill the weevils that were damaging German fields and orchards. By mixing phosphorus with cyanide, he came up with a substance that was way too toxic to use for agriculture purposes.

So, Spicer was correct in the sense the Hitler did not use poison gas in armed combat and he was referring to armed combat in Syria when he made his remark.   Had he only acknowledged the use of poison gas on civilians in concentration camps, he would have been on solid ground.  But, the liberals couldn’t wait to find fault, as usual and the rest is history.

    OMG

I watched him several times. He meant what he said. It was a bad day for Spicer. Covering up for him does not do the world any good.

You act like you do not know who and what these people are.

Also the apology was not even good. He was speaking to trump. He is sorry he went off Topic.

Also still waiting for Proof Assad did this. If he did than Putin is at fault too.

But then again there is no Proof of who did this. Just world speculation which varies country by country.

Proper intel and facts are needed. The worlds Geopolitical Wars are complicated and the media is no more than a PR firm for their prospective leaders.

      Defense Secretary James Mattis:

“I have personally reviewed the intelligence and there is no doubt the Syrian regime is responsible for the decision to attack and for the attack itself.”

Mattis delivered these remarks with U.S. Central Command head Gen. Joseph Votel.

There is intel, Dewey. Believe it or don’t as you choose but please refrain from claiming there is only “speculation.”

  2. Libby says:

You call dropping bombs on civilians at the crack of dawn “combat”, do you?

Spicer is an ignoramus, like his boss. This administration will be the source of continual humiliations. And would you please NOT make nonsensical excuses.

  3. Pie Guevara says:

“Sean Spicer clumsily made a dumb analogy. Rice, Clinton, Obama lied to America and the faces of 4 families about their dead loved ones.” (A tip of the hat to Dana Loesch.)

No surprises in the comments from the usual troll ***holes. They are as predictable as ticks on a deer.

“Some critics have pointed out that launching 59 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles is expensive. But it is starting to look like a good investment, at least so far. That could change, of course.

It is entirely possible that Assad launched the gas attacks to test for a U.S. reaction. Perhaps our military does have 100% certainty about the source of the attack. All I’m saying is that war-related claims have no credibility by their very nature. And in this specific case, the truth is irrelevant. What matters is that the allegation of Assad’s guilt opened new strategic options at a reasonable cost, and President Trump jumped on them.”

Let’s talk about the gang of 8 being briefed on the European intel on Russian Spies and Trump affiliates Last Aug/Sept vs CIA Propaganda

    The bomb

And where we are going from here

    • Post Scripts says:

Oh Peggy, that was beautiful, I hope Spicer saw it. I’m still chuckling….

      • Peggy says:

There’s another video of Obama or Pelosi saying the same gaffe, but I couldn’t find it again when I posted the one of Mathews.

I watched Spicer when he said it and knew he was talking about dropping bombs with poison gas to kill people, not the gas chambers Hitler used.

        I hope he did too.

  6. Pete says:

I’m sure he meant to say the use of poison gas in combat but he didn’t. I don’t think he was a wise choice for press sec. Trump needed to fire this guy many weeks ago.
