If Black Lives Matter….

by Jack

Peggy submitted a link to a news story about Rep. Corine Brown-D, convicted of corruption charges. Well, that got me thinking and I hope I can share a few thoughts without being called a racist. I did a little digging and what I found is a fact, a statistic, that’s all. But, it does raise questions worth considering.

As a percentage of Congress blacks make up a relatively small number. As of 2017, 50 blacks serve in a 535 member Congress. However, as small at their numbers might be, they make up the largest group likely to be charged with corruption.

Of all the various ethnicities serving in Congress, blacks rank right at the bottom for corruption and i have to wonder why? It also makes me wonder why groups like “Black Lives Matter” don’t seem to notice?

If [black lives] matter why aren’t they protesting these black representatives that are lining their own pockets while they should be helping their constituents? But, instead of focusing on this bigger problem or demanding answers about the inner city crime problem that affects so many thousands of blacks nationwide, they’re fixated on railing against the less than 1% of cops who wrongly use deadly force. This doesn’t make any sense to me, unless the BLM group is prejudiced against police?

Why isn’t BLM concerned about these statistics…taken from a New York City crime study, blacks were charged in 62% of all robberies, 57% of all murders and 45% of all assaults, yet they comprise just 23% of New York’s population. [If] black lives matter, and I think they do, then why isn’t the BLM group focused on doing something about these statistics instead of causing irrational hatred for police? Committing crimes does result into frequent contact with the police, so is that the police’ fault or the perpetrator’s?

One last thing…do these names of recent congressional representatives ring a bell? Eddie Bernice Johnson-D, Jesse Jackson Jr.-D, Rep. Maxine Waters-D, Rep. Alcee Hastings-D, Sheila Jackson Lee-D, Frank Balance-D, William Jefferson-D and Charlie Rangel-D. Guess what they have in common, besides being representatives. Yep, all corrupt and almost every time the Congressional Black Caucus was right there to rally support for the criminal representative.

    Jack, Jack, Jack……………

The mere fact you separated these people by race instead of the fact they are elected is not good.

The BLM movement is fighting for a fair system and were responsible for many elected being primaried.

I know you are in Chico a very white rural area. Realize what you see in the news does not represent what really goes on.

Take Baltimore. I lived there for 8 months or more. I saw what goes on. MSM does not report it.

So Maybe we should ask ……………………..Are Black politicians more likely to be prosecuted than white? If you do not realize most of these elected have something criminal, or close to it going on you do not know DC. I spent 5 months lobbying in DC for the experience.

what good does it do if I list a few conservatives convicted?

Gov. Ultrasound Bob McDonnell sentenced to two years in prison.

    Dennis Hastert ect ect

post a link to Republican sex offenders?

Point is the political system is corrupt, breeds corruption which has no race barrier, or party barrier.

BLM has many factions. Some take on politics, most fight for justice on the matters that affect their daily lives.

Go out into the world disguised as a black man for a week. Then come back and tell us how you were treated.

I realize you just do not get it, but ask a BLM member instead of speculate. It may help you understand.

I did not make a list of white convicted politicians because in reality the convictions are a symptom of the problem….. A bought out Political system where all that matters is raising money.

Money is all that matters in this country and the greedy are the rulers.

  2. J. Soden says:

The absurd demands by the Black Lies Matter crowd deserve only laughter since they’ve become so outrageous. Only thing that matters to them is the amount of time they get on the “news.”
Jack is right regarding the black members of Clowngress lining their pockets at voters’ expense. Laughingly, Maxine Waters is currently being featured prominently and her recent remarks and accusations border on complete mental illness. Her too-tight James Brown wig is smarter than she is.

    • TruthToPower says:

Are you trying to say only black members line their pockets?

      Come on now.

Corruption is documented over the decades.

Heck Boehner use to hand out donor checks on the house floor before a vote.

If we do not stop this Bullcrap Media Driven Party Fighting between you Democrats and Republicans we will loose all Democracy.

        • TruthToPower says:

Fair enough what words do you take issue with?

          • TruthToPower says:

Quote: “Jack is right regarding the black members of Clowngress lining their pockets at voters’ expense. ”

So what makes the difference ? Most of congress lines their pockets, so why is Race mentioned at all?

            Please enlighten me

          • Joe says:

            Dewey, do Jack lives matter?

          • TruthToPower says:

Joe how is it that all of a sudden jack’s Life is connected to whether BLM has a Point or not?

I have never been seen here advocating for the death of anyone whle some others have.

Fact is when a suppressed group speaks out it does not mean no one else matters.

Jeeze I can still remember the Trayvon conversations and the use of the word thug.

Sorry but the White nationalist Movement will be Squashed by political means or by a bloody civil war

          • Joe says:

So Dewey, Jack is a white nationalist because he disagrees with BLM and Antifa? How do you even know Jack is white?

          • Chris says:

“Jack lives matter” is pretty funny, Joe.

I know that Jack is white, having added him on Facebook a few years back. I’m fairly certain that all the regulars here are white.

I don’t think anyone here qualifies as a “white nationalist,” despite many holding opinions I see as somewhat racist.

          • Joe says:

Somewhat racist? Could you give examples?

      • Abe WalkingBear says:

there are some Americans who would rather give energy to hate of others than look to common American values like equality and the right of all Americans to equal treatment under the law.

straight, white American males have been on the receiving end of privilege for so long that when women and other “lesser” American make progress they feel they are being oppressed.

  3. Joe says:

If [black lives] matter why aren’t they protesting these black representatives that are lining their own pockets while they should be helping their constituents?

    Captain Jack,

If Soros fronted groups like Antifa have their way, you will be convicted of a hate speech crime for even asking this question.

  4. Tina says:

Jack you ask a lot of sensible questions that deserve serious study and a strong commitment to find solutions to the underlying problems and overcome them, if I may borrow a word from “the struggle.”

Many black citizens are fed up and angry…others just feel hopeless. But since the “struggle” has always been with the “other” (whites), against people who oppressed and harmed them, they have not learned to give much thought to solving problems from within. The problems they face are not inherently in black people. They are not exclusive to black people. But right now there is a definite crisis in the category called, “the black community” and it isn’t limited to crime.

Abortion numbers for blacks is much higher (3x higher than whites)…to the point that some call it genocide. Black students have lower graduation rate, 69%, as opposed to whites, 86%, and Hispanics, 73%. Divorce rates are higher for black women…”Black women are the least likely to stay married. Only 37% are still in first marriages by 20 years. About half of White and Hispanic women are still married at 20 years. Asian women have the highest chance of staying married for 20 years. (79%).” More than half (55%) of black children grow up in single parent homes (whites 22%) . Blacks make up 40% of the prison population. Only forty-nine percent of college-educated Black women marry a well-educated man, compared to 84 percent of college-educated white women. Many remain single since they prefer to marry within their own race. (As seen on Oprah) Sadly blacks make up 47% of HIV/AIDS patients. We’ve discussed the gang related murder rates in Chicago many times…where is the outrage?

Black children have so many things working against them. Blaming poverty (24% of blacks are living in what we call poverty as opposed to 9% of whites and 21% of Hispanics) is useless. We’ve thrown money at such problems for decades and things have not improved. Besides, pointing the finger of blame leads to looking outside, outside of oneself or outside of the community, for solutions. This is a crisis that can only be resolved by black people in their own families and communities. The surest way to solve the problem is in the home and in the local community.

(Lest you think this is born of racism, I believe whites face the same challenges as well…but we haven’t reached a tipping point. And we haven’t been taught our race holds us back or makes us an automatic victim…we haven’t been told we are entitled to redistribution just because of our race).

Success in life requires personal responsibility, effort, and persistence toward well defined goals. If life is to truly work it also requires honesty, decency, and charity. How many kids are being trained to live their lives for success? How many can count on parents and teachers to be their guides? How many are basically left to train themselves in the streets?

BLM (and others like it) won’t work because it’s just another leftist activist organization following a failed (Marxist) playbook that says the power of the state is everything, redistribution is justice you deserve, and the oppressor (whites, cops, the rich, corporations) must be brought down.

Corrupt white politicians are weak. Corrupt black politicians are too but they carry an extra burden. That sense of entitlement. It justifies their deeds.

    Good topic Jack

      A Study?

We have decades of studies and history

Are you clueless? I do not mean that as a Mean slur.

I ask because it is a National Conversation and the rotten history is on the table.

I am White By the way, and I have to say the White race is no better than anybody else. Down here in the south I find the old white southerners quite the idiots, uneducated, mean, and need to push others down to feel good about themselves.

Of course there are people from everywhere but it was an education down here.

  5. Tina says:

Related article: Controversial education secretary Betsy DeVos is booed and students turn backs during her commencement speech at historically black college.

I wonder if any of them has any idea what this woman thinks or wants she’d like to do, particularly in the black community.

Edison Jackson, president of historically black college in Daytona Beach, briefly took over the microphone to lecture the students, ‘If this behavior continues, your degrees will be mailed to you. Choose which way you want to go,’ Jackson warned

At least the president stepped up. That’s more than I can say for most presidents at American colleges and universities.

    • TruthToPower says:

      Tina

You read articles? ASK Them! I know why.

      They were correct

Devos is not a qualified person not to mention her mission is to destroy public education for Profit institutions using tax dollars to make others money.

The students followed their founders statements.

You seem to think This conservative agenda has to be respected by the majority?

      No

I applaud those students, They Booed her, also allowed her to speak, and were very correct.

One earns respect by their policies.

Get use to it, People are not going to sit down and be quiet as the country is raided by profiteers.

You wonder f they know what she stands for?

Tina everybody has done the research. Do you even know who her Brother is? Why she was appointed?

      Come on now.

      • Tina says:

“Devos is not a qualified person”

My first reaction? Just shut the H up!

“You seem to think This conservative agenda has to be respected by the majority?”

Who says you are the majority? Just because you say “we the people” it doesn’t mean you represent the majority. And bbefore you comment on the conservative agenda you should at least make an effort to understand it. You don’t. You don’t even come close. You are so off base it’s embarrassing.

“They Booed her, also allowed her to speak, and were very correct.”

Very correct? How many of them could tell us what she had to say? How many actually got her message? How many brought their brain washed ideas and prejudice to the event?

“One earns respect by their policies”

She has my respect. If you can explain her policies I’d be surprised.

“People are not going to sit down and be quiet as the country is raided by profiteers.”

This nation has been offering government run education to students for a long time. Unfortunately the record of achievement over the last 30-50 has declined significantly. We pay for our schools through property taxes and income taxes. What are we gaining for our students when students are falling behind? Why do we defend them when so many poor kids are failing badly?

Why don’t you expect excellence from our schools? We certainly pay enough into them!

And if an alternative school does a better job wouldn’t it be smart to try to emulate what that school does?

Why don’t you put the kids first? Betsey Vos does.

The (left) education unions put the union first…now there’s a for profit institution that gives nothing to the kids!

  6. Peggy says:

It’s always about restitution and guilt. Doesn’t matter the name of the group it’s their common cause that justifies their acts of restitution for past wrongs. Guilt is the motivator for giving into their demands, forgiving their wrongs against society and treating them like spoiled children instead of responsible adults.

The recent UC Santa Cruz black student group took over the admin. buildings and vowed to stay there until all of their demands were met. After all of the first demands were agreed to the students submitted a second list of demands.

A smart UC admin. would never have met the first demands. Now they’re on a train with no end.

Black student group at UC Santa Cruz threatens more campus takeovers if additional demands not met:

“Black student group at UC Santa Cruz threatens more campus takeovers if additional demands not met

    ‘There will be more Reclamations’

University of California Santa Cruz administrators recently agreed to meet to all four demands lodged by a black student group who commandeered a campus building and would not leave until their conditions were met.

But in addition to the four initial stipulations, the group made three other demands to the university, and it has warned UC Santa Cruz that it has four months to comply with these demands or “more Reclamations” will result.

After three days of occupation by students of Kerr Hall, Chancellor George Blumenthal agreed to give all black and Caribbean-identified students a 4-year housing guarantee to live in the Rosa Parks African American Themed House; bring back the building’s lounge; paint its exterior the “Pan-Afrikan colors” of red, green and black; and force all new incoming students to go through a mandatory diversity competency training.

“The student demonstrators raised a number of issues with campus leaders, issues we fundamentally agree upon,” Blumenthal stated in a May 4 memo to the campus community announcing the concessions. “Students from historically underrepresented communities deal with real challenges on campus and in the community. These difficulties include things that many people take for granted, such as finding housing or even just a sense of community.”

Yet the African/Black Student Alliance also demanded three additional provisions from UC Santa Cruz within its initial “Reclamation Statement,” posted on the website of the Afrikan Black Coalition. The group stipulated that if by Fall Quarter 2017 the university does not provide “detailed plans” on how to fulfill its new demands, “there will be more Reclamations.”

“Reclamation” is how the student group referred to its aggressive three-day takeover of Kerr Hall.”

I knew I would catch heck for this subject, but it was worth putting it out there. Tina, said it best when she reminded us that there’s a whole lot of folks blaming anyone and anything but themselves for their depressed situation.

You want to talk blatant racism, I know right where to find it. Libby, you and Dewster have not lived until you have rode the muni around Washington DC for awhile.

The loud trash talk, the shouts of M-F this and M-F that, the relentless obscenities, etc., that you will hear coming from adolescent blacks would be enough to convince most of us that they must have had “zero” parenting growing up….that some street gang raised these kids, cause they don’t behave like ANY normal kids I’ve ever seen anywhere around the world and I’ve been in 82 countries.

Yeah those guys holding the sign in the first link look really dangerous, Dewey. hard core.
