Obamacare Insurance Subsidy Illegal?

The Affordable Care Act has not lived up to it’s name. The fact that the law has been expanded and enlarged through regulation and presidential fiat is a lesser known fact. The original bill was comprised of 381,517 words. Added regulation, enacted outside of the legislative process, contains approximately 11,588,500 words (by 2013). I don’t know if Obama’s insurance company bail out is included in that 11.5 mil word figure but it hardly matters. The fix fix is unsustainable and possibly illegal:

The payments are the subject of a lawsuit brought by House Republicans over whether the Affordable Care Act specifically included a congressional appropriation for the money, as required under the Constitution. Trump has only guaranteed the payments through July, which ends Monday.

Trump previously said the law that he and others call “Obamacare” would collapse immediately whenever those payments stop.

Long before Obama created an appropriations rule, he and the Democrat Party foisted this law on the people without adhereing to the normal legislative processes. It’s a travesty that it’s been allowed to stand this long.

Senator Schumer and his Democrats have made no apologies to the American people even after years of rising premiums and deductibles, onerous taxes, and companies pulling out of exchanges entirely. In fact, they’ve denied the problems exist. A resounding defeat has changed nothing. They refuse to humble themselves and work with fellow Republicans to bring much needed relief to the people.

The consequences of this bad law will continue to roll out unless something is done. The justice system could deliver it’s final fatal blow. The court could also betray the people and allow billions more to be given to the insurance companies.

Stay tuned and in the meantime, stay well.

There was a great photo of a hand-lettered sign on the Internet this week that perfectly summed up Congress’ hypocrisy on the ongoing collapse of American health care:

“If Obamacare is so ‘great,’ why does Congress require a ‘loophole?’ ”

You see, Congress and its six-figure staffers aren’t partaking in the glories of the unaffordable Affordable Care Act. They were included in the initial legislation, when everyone was paying attention.

But in 2013, during the dog days of summer, something called the Office of Personnel Management invented a breathtaking exemption: Congress, it decreed, is a “small business.”

So the solons and their top staffers suddenly became eligible for subsidies on their plans of up to 70 percent — $12,000 a year.

As a Wall Street Journal guest columnist wrote last week, OPM did the heavy lifting administratively, “sparing Congress the embarrassment of a self-serving vote.”

She added: “All that would be illegal for anyone else. In fact, it is illegal for Congress.”

OPM — perfect acronym. OPM bailed out Congress with OPM — Other People’s Money.

How disgraceful has this whole process been, even by Congressional standards? Chuck Schumer and Liz Warren taking selfies on the Senate floor early Friday morning in glee after McCain flip-flopped. And how about all the GOP turncoats, who ran one campaign after another on the promise of repealing this disaster, and then flinched in the clinch.

GOPUSA is not affiliates with the Republican National Committee.

In any other area of the country other than DC, it’s called LYING!

And who is surprised! Lying was the ONLY thing that Obumble was successful doing.
