Political Theater – The October Indictments

Posted by Tina

The investigation has been going on for some time. So why now? Why just a week or so prior to elections? Cast and crew are ready and the press has been given talking points…lights curtain….

Martin Marcus over at The American Thinker has posiited an interesting idea in his article titled, “Robert Mueller’s well-timed indictment.” Is it possible that Mueller’s indictment tomorrow is political? (smile) Marcus writes:

Special Counsel Robert Mueller plans to indict someone this week, we are told. Nobody knows whom or for what, but I know why. People suspect that a Trump ally will be indicted for something vaguely related to colluding with the Russian Government. We do not know any more details than that because we just cannot find any crime there. So why is there such a hurry to indict a Republican now?

The key is that the indictment comes in late October. Right before a November election. There is pattern of October indictments against Republicans.

Marcus counts the ways: Sheriff Joe Arpaio on October 25, 2016…October 30, 1992, Former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger…Senator Ted Stevens was convicted on October 27, 2008 for failing to report gifts. On November 4, 2008, he barely lost re-election. In 2009, Democrat Attorney General Eric Holder learned that prosecutors withheld evidence, sent a key witness away, and possibly allowed another witness to perjure himself. Knowing that Stevens was about to reveal this in court, Holder beat him to it and dismissed the case. Stevens was exonerated, but he still was an ex-Senator and the prosecutors were not punished.

Thomas Lifson, also of The American Thinker also believes there’s choreography going on here:

David Gergen, on Anderson Cooper’s show as the news was breaking, framed the rollout for CNN’s viewers: “It certainly looks like the dam is about to break.”…This political theater is being managed. The conning tower of the Deep State is breaking the surface. … Arrests, with prominent defendants in handcuffs make for great visuals. I think it is a stunt when there is no possibility of a defendant fleeing, but from the same gang that staged a predawn raid on the pajama-clad Manafort household, it is to be expected.

There are serious questions hanging over the process. The announcement of “the first” indictment by CNN is getting a lot of blow back. Clarice Feldman adds reality to the theater aspect of what goes on in DC in The American Thinker:

The aftermath of the 2016 election has revealed the criminality of the Democrats, the perfidy of the Deep State, the corruption of the press, and the bought and paid for motives of the scribblers in the conservative pundit class. And Trump won despite all that. … Fusion GPS’ dossier was a replay of a classic Soviet disinformation campaign. … In much the same way, I believe, Russian agents working for the Clintons and the DNC through Fusion GPS and its hireling Christopher Steele provided fake information in a dossier which the FBI (headed by James Comey) and the Department of Justice (headed by Loretta Lynch ) used to craft an affidavit to obtain a FISA warrant authorizing electronic surveillance on people connected, however tangentially, to the Trump campaign. This, after previous such warrants had — and this is unusual — been turned down by the FISA court. Then-president Obama allowed the surveilled communications to be widely circulated throughout the government, so that the names of the targets caught up in the surveillance and their communications were thus widely available for leaking, and were leaked.

And, in timely fashion, Ed Klein has released his new book, All Out War: The Plot to Destroy Trump. Included in the book is a report compiled by “the FBI’s field offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, and New York.” :

The mainstream media’s effort to cast doubt on the existence of the Deep State has been dealt a stunning body blow by an FBI report on rogue elements within the permanent federal bureaucracy. … After conducting 2,000 interviews, the FBI’s field offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, and New York compiled a 1,400-word report on the Deep State last summer for then-Director James Comey. … “The Bureau has gotten actionable intelligence that there is, within the federal government, a growing and organized movement to block or interfere with administration policy decisions,” the report states.

Radical Democrats today have been enamored with Marx and socialism at least since their college days. Some were born to it as red diaper babies of card carrying communist parents. The deep state has been formed largely through their efforts, capturing compromised elitists of both parties along the way. Seems to be the season for uncovering and exposing the louts. Let the grand theater begin….

Not too worried for Manafort. Getting a conviction is a whole ‘nother issue. And let’s remember that there are a bunch of Obumble’s prosecutors still in the DOJ and their conviction record was lousy.
Let’s hope Mueller has the integrity to apply the same type of scrutiny to $hrilLIARy and the DNC with the “dossier” funding issue.
If he does not, he’s just as slimy as Comey and $hrilLIARy.

Sessions needs to form another investigation committee to look into the Obama, Clinton, DNC involvement into their election collusion involvement with the Russians.

Obama’s Campaign Paid $972,000 To Law Firm That Secretly Paid Fusion GPS In 2016:

“Since April of 2016, Obama’s campaign organization has paid nearly a million dollars to the law firm that funneled money to Fusion GPS to compile a dossier of unverified allegations against Donald Trump.”

Peggy, given Tony Podesta’s decision to leave his agency this morning it may be we won;t need another SC and that’s why Sessions is not taking action. I certainly hope so. The number one reason that it’s important for all of the guilty to fall is the state of the rule of law in America. We are doomed as a nation if our justice system is compromised. It’s already under deep suspicion so it’s imperative that confidence be restored.

I hope you’re right Tina. My concern is the deep state is so deep and wide that those who have escaped their dues will one again not be held accountable.

It’s not just Hillary, Obama, Holder and Lynch who have me seeing red it’s Lois Lerner and John Koskinen who lied before congress and destroyed evidence, after he’d been told to preserve everything.

I’d love to see a special committee set up for the IRS since it affected so many Americans, in addition to one for investigating Mueller’s committee. Trey Gowdy says to give Mueller a chance, but I don’t trust anyone who has as deep ties to the previous administration as he does.
