And if the question had been, more specifically: do you dislike Americans of Hispanic descent? … the results would have been identical.

So what it is … is that 70 percent of the California population thinks that 30 percent of said population are racist, irrational, and unkind.

    • Post Scripts says:

It was a joke for our times and it was funny, c’mon! And no Libs, why would you even raise that absurd question? Playing the race card is beneath you. I have two girls of Hispanic decent. So, my family is of 3 races American Indian, Hispanic, and European.

PS Unlike Ms. Pocahontas… my DNA proves it.

      • Libby says:

        Uh-huh … again.

The day you retell that joke in Tagalog, Polish and/or Gaelic, I’ll let you off the hook.

Libby, don’t be such an a**!

Until the lefts agenda to divide the nation came along, with it’s politically correct language and race and class baiting, Americans told jokes like that about everybody and we all laughed together no matter who we were…YOU KNOW THAT!

Comedians today say it’s impossible to make jokes because people are too sensitive and “offended” by everything.

Most of the illegals in this country are of Hispanic decent…it’s a freakin fact…that’s why the joke is in Spanish rather than “Gaelic”…YOU ALSO KNOW THAT!

          Lighten up!

Peggy I imagine governors, other than Brown, have let Congress and the President know they support his policies and the lawtoo.

Three of the illegal convicts that the mayor of Oakland warned (so they could escape ICE) have been rearrested for spousal abuse and robbery. In addition to the crimes this is a ridiculous waste of time and resource that could be better spent elsewhere!

In 2016 the LA Times wrote that “two-thirds of California voters believe that illegal immigration is a “major problem” in the state with “62% of voters” saying they believed illegal immigration is a “major problem” and 23% of those calling it “a crisis.” Only “36% said the issue was a small problem or not a problem at all.”

Some of those who think its a problem are Hispanic.

The Hill reported in April of last year:

The Pew Research Institute estimates that as of 2014, there are at least 11.2 million illegal immigrants residing in the U.S. This population comprises approximately 3.5 percent of our country’s population.

Of these, by far the largest ethnic population, 52 percent are Hispanics comprised of Mexicans, Central Americans and Cubans.

Six states: California, Texas, Illinois, Florida, New York and New Jersey account for 59 percent of all illegal immigrants residing in the U.S. … 50 percent of all federal crimes were committed near our border with Mexico.

Of the 61,529 criminal cases filed by federal prosecutors; 40 percent or 24,746 were in court districts along the southern borders of California, Arizona and Texas. … The Southern California District with nearly 4,900 cases… The U.S. Department of Justice documents that in 2014…12,000 criminal cases filed by prosecutors were for violent crimes…over 22 percent or 13,300 cases were for drug related felonies.

That same year, the U.S. Sentencing Commission found that 75 percent of all criminal defendants who were convicted and sentenced for federal drug offenses were illegal immigrants. … In California alone, over 2,400 illegal immigrants out of a total prison population of 130,000 are imprisoned in the state’s prison system for the crime of homicide.

Liberals don’t respect our laws, the Constitution, or the will of the people. This is why they always make a lot of noise to make it seem like they are in the majority. They are not…clearly!

Hate sounding like a broken record, but Cesar Chavez back in the 1960s was fighting illegal farm workers crossing our southern border and taking jobs from American farm workers. He understood the harm the illegals were doing with the cheap labor pay undercutting the jobs and living for native workers.

His hunger strike of 100 days brought Bobby Kennedy to his bedside and with BK’s support was able to form the UFW union. Chavez was in LA when BK was assassinated.

The Democrat party has done a 180 since the 60s. They’ve thrown Chavez and everything he fought, and some died for, under the bus. Chavez took armies of men to the Rio Grand and stopped “Wetbacks” (his word, not mine) from crossing the river. Today’s Dems want votes for themselves and not what’s best for our people and country. If it takes illegals voting to keep them in power so be it. The ends justify the means.

Dems inability to see the whole picture is displayed with the number of homeless and jobless living on our streets because they can’t find a good paying job or place to live with millions of illegals occupying both.

Who can afford $4,000 rent on a two bedroom appt or bungalow? No one without cramming two or three families in. Saw a LA reporter interview a man living in an RV with three other guys who all had jobs, but couldn’t afford an appt. down there.

LA has 58,000 homeless, SF about 10,000 and 2,000 here in Chico and every small town across the state. The LA homeless camps are being compared to worse than living conditions in third world countries. It even had a hepatitis A outbreak recently.

California’s have a choice of either waking up, like the Orange County residents who are fighting back against Sacramento or do nothing and let the whole state end up like LA. Eventually even those still living up the road in Malibu will get fed up with paying the tax bill and follow those who have already moved out.

      Michael,

I’m not sure what your native language is, but in English, we do not capitalize the first letter of every word in a sentence. We only capitalize the first letter of the first word of the sentence, along with names and other important titles.

Since the ability to speak correct English is very important to those concerned with illegal immigration, I thought it important that you know this, so that you will be better accepted by your community.

  5. Post Scripts says:

People who cut in front of the immigration line disrespect us, our laws and all those who wish to honor the system. When they are caught they must be held accountable, a simple fine in some cases, in others… deportation. It all depends on the circumstances. However, an open border is no better than leaving your front door open to whoever happens by and this seems to be what democrats want. I can’t accept that, it’s dangerous, no matter the cheap labor. That’s not right and it’s really not cheap either…we pay big time!

  6. Chris says:

Illegal immigration isn’t a serious problem. This is a fact. Illegal immigration has been falling for over a decade, and net migration is either at zero or negative. So not only is there no “emergency,” there is no problem at all.

    • Post Scripts says:

Chris, I disagree strongly – illegal immigration is a serious problem! It would be ludicrous to say otherwise.

Every time a load of dope or human sex trafficking comes across the board it is a major problem, maybe not for you, but for someone its a life and death problem. That reminds me, I recall how fond the liberals liked to say, “If it only saves one life…” Now it’s all about minimizing that part using cold statistics?

Speaking of statistics, if illegals made up 6% of entire jail population, is that a problem for you? No? How about if it were over 10%, is that now a problem? How about if it were over 16%, which is the actual number according to several of my sources.

Check out this president issued this order: “…an executive order Wednesday that directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to publish a weekly list of “criminal actions committed by aliens.” To date, the crime data has been very scarce. Consequently, estimating the numbers of crimes and or criminal activities by illegal aliens has not been very reliable. We really need good data on this. I’m sure you would agree, right? (If I told you Obama issued that order would you be shocked?) Confused now, huh? Well, don’t be, it was Trump, but Obama did do similar things.

Next the president said, “Many aliens who illegally enter the United States and those who overstay or otherwise violate the terms of their visas present a significant threat to national security and public safety,” the order states. “This is particularly so for aliens who engage in criminal conduct in the United States.”

The one reasonably good source of data we have is the incarceration rates. We know if we did not have illegals in this country our jail population would be cut by over 16%. That is a significant number in terms of lives, property and money lost. Imagine if suddenly that 16% was gone, what a relief it would be!

“Florida State University Professor of Criminology Daniel Mears says that “good data” focused on immigrant criminality – specifically undocumented immigrant criminality – is scarce. Determining definitively whether someone who has been arrested is in the country legally can take significant effort, and the result might not be noted in all law enforcement records. In addition, researchers often have to rely on arrest and conviction numbers, which may be misleading because they could reflect law enforcement priorities more than criminal behavior.” But, again, this is one of those grey areas we need to drill down on and get to the truth. Right now both your side and my side are not operating with all the facts we need to come to agreements on many immigration issues.

Here’s a problem, a really big problem that even you can’t deny…”A total of 58,766 known or suspected aliens were in in DOJ custody at the end of FY 2017, including 39,455 persons in BOP custody and 19,311 in USMS custody.

Of this total, 37,557 people had been confirmed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be aliens (i.e., non-citizens and non-nationals), while 21,209 foreign-born people were still under investigation by ICE to determine alienage.

Among the 37,557 confirmed aliens, 35,334 people (94 percent) were unlawfully present. These numbers include a 92 percent unlawful rate among 24,476 confirmed aliens in BOP custody and a 97 percent unlawful rate among 13,081 confirmed aliens in USMS custody.

This report does not include data on the foreign-born or alien populations in state prisons and local jails because state and local facilities do not routinely provide DHS or DOJ with comprehensive information about their inmates and detainees. This limitation is noteworthy because state and local facilities account for approximately 90 percent of the total U.S. incarcerated population. DHS and DOJ are working to develop a reliable methodology for estimating the status of state and local incarcerated populations in future reports. Every time a load of dope or human sex trafficking comes across the board it is a major problem, maybe not for you, but for someone its a life and death problem.

Yes, but those are separate problems from illegal immigration. Most drugs, for instance, are trafficked through legal ports of entry.

That reminds me, I recall how fond the liberals liked to say, “If it only saves one life…” Now it’s all about minimizing that part using cold statistics?

You should also recall that I have many times said I reject that statement, which is part of why I’ve moved more to the right on gun issues.

Speaking of statistics, if illegals made up 6% of entire jail population, is that a problem for you? No? How about if it were over 10%, is that now a problem? How about if it were over 16%, which is the actual number according to several of my sources.

No, not the “jail population.” The federal prison population. Don’t get sloppy.

And the fact is that the vast majority of crimes are handled at the state and local level, not the federal level, so this is a skewed sample.

Like what?

This was an overtly bigoted order, similar to the list of crimes of Jews put out by the Nazis in that it’s designed solely to fearmonger about a minority group.

Illegal immigration is a problem in the same way illegal alcohol was a problem in the time of prohibition. We are simply making too many immigrants unable to come here legally in a reasonable amount of time. Most illegal immigrants commit no other crimes while they are here, and serve to contribute to our economy. If conservatives are serious when they say “We’re not against immigration, just illegal immigration,” then there’s a simple solution: loosen immigration regulations so that more people can come here legally.

I believe we have a right to know who is entering our borders, but that right is only compromised when we make legal immigration so burdensome that parents with children who just want to work feel like sneaking into the country (or overstaying a visa, which is what most of them do) is easier than following our impractical immigration laws. (Again, this logic is why I have more sympathy toward gun owners than I used to.)

So yes, illegal immigration is a serious problem–for the families that want to immigrate here but legally can’t.

Chris: Yes, but those are separate problems from illegal immigration. Most drugs, for instance, are trafficked through legal ports of entry.

Jack: Do you know the exact percent of dope that comes through legal ports of entry verses sneaking it across the border by mules, planes and off shore boats? It sounds great to say the most drugs come through the ports, but could there be a reason for this, other than its the most popular way to smuggle? How about drugs are more likely to be caught at a legal port of entry? I do know that 20,000 pound of meth, heroin and cocaine were seized in open border crossings and according to my sources in the DEA, that represents about 3% of the total that actually makes it through. Image that! 3% equals 20,000 pounds of hard drugs and that amount then is stepped (cut) anywhere from 3 to 6 times on average before it gets purchased by the end user. That’s one hell of a lot of dangerous coming across the border. You want to make a case for beefing up the ports of entry? Hey, I’m right there with you. Let’s beef up security inspections there too. Or maybe we should just say lets legalize it all and forget it? If people die from overdoses, they die, is that what you want?

Jack: That reminds me, I recall how fond the liberals liked to say, “If it only saves one life…” Now it’s all about minimizing that part using cold statistics?

Chris: No, not the “jail population.” The federal prison population. Don’t get sloppy.

Jack: Cite your source – I did. But, my point is, somebody is in custody and we’re paying for them to be there and we really don’t have too if we had better security over our border.

            Embarrassing.

          • Post Scripts says:

Chris we can’t have a dialog if you insult me. And you seem to be quibbling about the federal prison verses the general cost to taxpayers for illegal aliens in jail or prison, whatever word you wish to use.

My point was quite clear, so don’t be deliberately obtuse. YOU CLAIMED ILLEGAL ALIENS WERE NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL and I said that’s wrong. I have provided more than ample evidence that proves your statement was wrong. But, because you can’t win this round using facts now you try to introduce a red herring and quibble over that! lol Lets stay on issue Chris. You won’t like the following editorial because it destroys your argument:

2012: “According to the Congressional Register roughly “27 percent of the inmates in United States prisons are not U.S. citizens: 17.5 percent are from the nation of Mexico”. This is perhaps the clearest indication that we have a very serious illegal immigration problem here in the US.

Some other startling fact were discovered, for example a whopping “37 percent of Texas border jails contain foreign nationals”, says Congressman Poe of Texas.

How can any reasonable person say our borders are secure when 27 percent of America’s prisons are the home to foreign nationals?

Imagine the cost to taxpayers. The cheapest prisons in the US cost tens of thousands of dollars a year per inmate. Some states have toyed with the idea of deportation, the Kansas Department of Corrections for example, could help its budget problems if it could deport nearly 300 inmates who are potentially illegal immigrants.

But doing so either isn’t possible (because of a lack of extradition agreements) or may not be effective.

Corrections Secretary Roger Werholtz told a joint House-Senate committee that about 80 of 293 inmates who were born in other countries and may be illegal immigrants might be eligible for deportation, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported. But deportation is no guarantee that inmates would remain in prison in their home countries.

If inmates are freed, they could easily return to the United States, which might endanger public safety, Werholtz said in a 2009 interview…

The inmates in question come from 27 different countries, though most (201) are from Mexico.

            BORDER DYNAMICS

More than 34,000 people have been killed or murdered in our neighboring country of Mexico since the drug cartels began their reign of terror in 2006.

            SCOURCE: ALIPAC

We want to stop and reverse illegal immigration.
“Enforce America’s existing border and immigration laws instead of any form of amnesty that would undermine our nation further!” — William Gheen, President of ALIPAC

ALIPAC supporters represent every race and demographic in America. We have a diverse range of opinions, yet we are united in the belief that more must be done to stop illegal immigration and illegal immigrants from harming Americans. We work hard at ALIPAC to educate lawmakers and the public about the many problems with illegal immigration.

ALIPAC supports those who legally immigrate, but we DO NOT support any amnesty, visa expansion, “Guest Worker” program, or immigration reform amnesty designed to reward illegal aliens or legalize their presence in the US.
We have supported a peaceful, non racist, rule of law approach to resolving illegal immigration since our founding on 9/11 2004.

America is a land of generous and caring people, but our hospitality and values are being strained and abused by those who are willing to break the law and take our jobs and our tax dollars.
America’s illegal alien population will begin to shrink instead of grow if we support candidates that will reflect the will of the vast majority of American citizens.

ALIPAC’s FOUR POINT PLATFORM: “Simply enforce our existing immigration laws!”

            1. Secure Our Borders.
            2. Crack down on employers that intentionally hire illegals.
            3. Remove incentives and rewards to illegals such as licenses, welfare, and other taxpayer benefits.
            4. Enforce our existing laws and deport illegal aliens when convicted of crimes or detected during routine law enforcement activities.

            Most ALIPAC supporters also believe:

            – We oppose the excessive and reckless United Nations resettlement programs that are bringing in large numbers of refugees from Syria and other Muslim nations at the expense of US taxpayers when this form of immigration is clearly putting the security of our citizens at risk.
            – Legal immigration levels should be reduced from the current historically high levels to lower and more traditional levels.
            – Congress should make English the official language of America!
            – State and Local police should help enforce immigration laws!
            – We firmly oppose any Guest Worker / Temporary Worker Program which is disguised AMNESTY legislation.
            – Legal and law abiding Americans should not be subjected to privacy invading technologies or national ID.
            – Obama’s support for illegal immigration and executive amnesty are impeachable offenses.
            – Many believe Congress should clarify that the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution is superseded by the Article 4 protection from invasion clause and that “anchor babies” should not qualify for US citizenship.

Our core positions at ALIPAC are designed to line up with a large majority of American views represented in many scientific polls collected on our page Illegal Immigration Facts (click to view)!

          • Chris says:

Jack, pointing out that “jails” and “federal prisons” are not the same thing is not “quibbling.” It materially affects the argument, for reasons I already explained quite clearly:

And the fact is that the vast majority of crimes are handled at the state and local level, not the federal level, so this is a skewed sample

You say we can’t have a debate if I’m insulting you? We also can’t have a debate if you don’t or can’t fully read and comprehend your own sources and my comments.

ALIPAC can’t “destroy” any of my arguments because they are so clearly arguing from an extremist bias. They give away the game when they make false claims like immigrants are taking jobs and not contributing in taxes. Then they go as far as to say that *legal* immigration should be reduced. So they’re not just anti-illegal-immigrant, they’re anti-immigrant. They say they believed Obama should have been impeached for disagreeing with them on illegal immigration. They’re against refugees. They want to amend the 14th amendment to take away birthright citizenship. They want a national language, something our founders were clearly against. I really don’t know why you posted those details; all it did was undermine their case and yours.

Point 3 is interesting. They say they want to crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants. A lot of conservatives say this, but don’t mean it. Have they condemned Trump for hiring illegal immigrants at his clubs? Have you? Has any conservative group done so? I haven’t seen it. I realize it’s hard to keep track of Trump’s many, many scandals, and this one has gotten lost in the shuffle even on mainstream news, but it seems striking in its hypocrisy. But maybe in this age we’ve just become immune to the fact that the president is a giant hypocrite who has a “tweet for everything.”
