YouTube Shooter Identified

While the media continue to hammer Trump (tariffs and Russia, Russia, Russia) life goes on. Life ended for Nasim Aghdam at her own hand yesterday when her angry vengeful spirit overflowed and she went on a shooting rampage against YouTube employees in San Bruno. She injured three people before turning her legally obtained 9 mm semiautomatic handgun on herself. San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said he is investigating reports that her family had warned police in Mountain View about her angry posts and when they found her in her car sleeping they determined she was not a threat. Her profile includes veganism and animal rights which were the subject of rejected YouTube videos:

The 38-year-old San Diego resident was an extremist vegan who claimed on her social media accounts that YouTube was discriminating against her videos, many of which focused on animal rights and veganism — mixed in with bizarre musical parodies.

“Youtube (sic) filtered my channels to keep them from getting views!” Aghdam wrote on her website.

“There is no free speech in real world & you will be suppressed for telling the truth that is not supported by the system. Videos of targeted users are filtered & merely relegated, so that people can hardly see their videos!

Our dying culture is at the core of the discord, ignorance, and bloody mayhem we are witnessing. Making guns and the NRA as a political football, driven one way and another every political season, will do nothing to make a difference. Organizing groups to scream in the streets adds to the mayhem. Disrespect for authority and the facts adds to the decline. Disinformation, educating for special rights, uplifting radicals and radical thought while demonizing sane and reasonable voices help to foment cultural decline. Rejection of certain religions and the basic morality in their teaching adds to the boiling dysfunctional pot. Indifference regarding life…and death…

Sane people of all political persuasions had better begin to seriously think about the root causes with the intent to seek lasting solutions.

No, Tina, you can’t make this one fit into your box. She was an artist, and suicidal, and decided to make a noise before she left us.

The propounding of adherence to capitalist values is kind of silly in the circumstances, don’t you think? Especially if you consider that she was attempting to pursue her vocation in a capitalist vein and venue … and the capitalists screwed her over.

    What box Libby? Name it!

The woman is a product of ignorant leftist widely emotional tripe. She lacked balance and common sense in her thinking abilities. She was incapable of making a sound choice in her own best interests, and was willing to take innocent others out (She missed, thank God).

Capitalism was not featured in my post. “Our dying culture” was.

“and the capitalists screwed her over.”

Those capitalists have been censoring content from the right. After objections (Sans violence) they have begun to sensor all kinds of content.

People of all stripes are capable of anger and violence. Adherence to a set of morals and laws within a society makes a marked difference. You know that, you just refuse to admit it so possessed are you to demonize capitalism.

    “What box Libby? Name it!”

    This box:

“Our dying culture is at the core of the discord, ignorance, and bloody mayhem we are witnessing. Making guns and the NRA as a political football, driven one way and another every political season, will do nothing to make a difference. Organizing groups to scream in the streets adds to the mayhem. Disrespect for authority and the facts adds to the decline. “Capitalism was not featured in my post. “Our dying culture” was.”

Well, it’s not my fault you are so very uninformed about her motivations. Get this … “demonitized” … how’s that for some very obfuscated and verbose screwing over. Her sites were making a little money, not a lot, but enough to supply a certain amount of personal self-worth. And then Google decided to demonitized … un-money … sites under a certain viewer threshhold, and her sites did not make money anymore.

Some people get very angry over that sort of thing.

  5. Tina says:

It fits in that box perfectly: “Disinformation, educating for special rights, uplifting radicals and radical thought while demonizing sane and reasonable voices help to foment cultural decline.”

In today’s world too many people think it’s perfectly natural to respond to personal adversity by getting even when things don’t go well. Sometimes they turn ot violence as this woman did.

It’s not rational behavior but it’s quite interesting that you seem to want to defend and explain it away.

“but enough to supply a certain amount of personal self-worth”

She was sleeping in her car and dreaming of becoming a Kardashian instead of doing what she needed to do to become a contributing citizen capable of caring for herself.

Don’t try to sugar coat the level of dysfunction in our society, which this unfortunate woman exemplifies, Libby, it just won’t fly.

I will say that the terrible decimation of the middle class has added to the dysfunction already present in our society but it is not the root cause. Plenty of people without jobs and with few prospects choose to shoot up a company…this one did.

  6. Libby says:

And you can’t muster even a little bit of admiration for somebody who refused to live “boxed”?

How do you think change for the better happens? This sort of thing serves as a nice nudge to the powers, i.e., it’s dangerous to let the peasants get too uncomfortable. Think of R, holed up in Nevada or wherever, sittin’ on his gun.

  7. RHT447 says:

“Think of R, holed up in Nevada or wherever, sittin’ on his gun.”

Oh heavens, it’s much worse than that. He builds guns as well (specializing in AR-15’s), and loads volumes of ammunition to shoot in them . He also teaches others to do these things as well, just for the asking. Well, today he didn’t. Today, he and his wife gathered up some things they no longer need and took them over to donate to the local mission.

….afterwards taking time to ladle soup and offer a smile of encouragement.

    Tsk, tsk, tsk!

Libby once told me the world was not black and white but many shades of grey. Gotta be a true grey shady lady to, on the one hand, think school shooters are (right wing) scum and on the other, admire a YouTube (left wing) shooter for nudging “the powers.”
