Before we start, I have to say I loved this blunt tell it like is talk from the President. It’s honest, bold and frankly long overdue. He puts the bureaucrats in their place and they have idea how to handle him, because he’s right. This is a gotcha moment, especially for Germany who has been double dealing on us with Russia.

Ultimately, Germany will have almost 70 percent of their country controlled by Russia with natural gas.

I mean, a case could be made for scaling back some, but this … this is just drivel.
Libby once again showing she’s as dumb as a rock.
We’ve spent billions each year and trillions since the end of WWII to protect Germany and other countries in Europe from RUSSIA. Money we could have spent on our own people and infrastructures.
Then Merkel turns around and cuts a secret deal with RUSSIA that will put money into her personal pocket AND puts the same countries we’re protecting with our blood and treasure at risk with RUSSIA.
RUSSIA is supplying Germany with 70% of the natural gas. What do you think will happen to Germany if RUSSIA raises the price, reduces the flow or cuts off the supply completely, Libby? Besides the people of Germany freezing during the winter, RUSSIA now has a backdoor into taking over Germany.
Use that gray matter between your ears to think and stop believing what the other idiots on your news source says.

Jack it’s been a long time since a leader has been willing to do more than play the part.
I love the open, honest dealing. I love the fact that he is willing to confront the Europeans about keeping the agreements they’ve made. He takes his responsibilities as a leader very seriously and so should they. I also love the fact that he boldly told them their irresponsible behavior has been unfair to US taxpayers who’ve footed the bill for their defense for 70 years!!! Most of all I love the fact that he has the best interests of America AND all NATO nations in mind. This isn’t an angry threat. Trump is not bullying them and they know it. He is simply asking them to step up their games…he’s a good coach if they can drop their assumptions and prejudices and learn from the man. It would make them better.
It’s never a mistake for a leader to ask the best of those around him, whether it’s his immediate staff or the leaders of other nations…would that we had more like him in the world.
It is particularly nuts that NATO (Mostly the US) spends big bucks to defend Europe against Russia while Germany, in particular, makes deals with Russia, instead of their ally for energy. Our liquid gas is cleaner and cheaper…a much better deal for Europe!
