Talk About Government Over Reach!

by Jack

The State of California passed legislation last year and Governor Brown signed it into law  that makes it mandatory for all healthcare workers complete a class on Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Gay and Transgendered issues, most often this cost is born by the employee.   The legislation was in response to several polling’s that indicated concerns among the LBGT community that they [might] become discriminated against in the healthcare industry, especially as their population reaches retirement home age.

LBGT Educational Classes – Where does the money go and who regulates the content of the training?  At this point we really don’t know.  However, what we do know for a fact is, failure to comply will result in termination of employment, a fine of $1000, loss of credentialing and imprisonment up to one year.   I guess in jail the offender will have time to re-think their religious objection then get their mind right.

What egregious violation of this new law can get you thrown into the gulag?  A number of things, but here is one example: Failure to use the correct pronoun.  That’s right, if a healthcare worker fails to use the proper salutation they can be terminated, prosecuted, fined and jailed.  On balance the Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener, has argued adamantly that nobody is going to be criminally prosecuted for using the wrong pronoun.  “It’s just more scare tactics by people who oppose all LGBT civil rights and protections,” he said in a statement last month.  Nevertheless, the language is still there.

What about a religious exception?  It doesn’t matter if the worker in question objects to this training on religious grounds or moral grounds.  There are no exceptions.  They have no choice, either they take the class as it is offered or they are no longer employable in their chosen profession.  The State has ruled – so you will just have to trust the crazy socialist government of California to be fair and reasonable as to when they chose to use their heavy hand.

Greg Burt of the California Family Council said, “How can you believe in free speech, but think the government can compel people to use certain pronouns when talking to others?” he said to the California Assembly Judiciary Committee in August, according to CBN News.   He was one of the few voices that opposed this legislation early on.

I don’t necessarily fault the stated motive, I get it.  But, I do fault their method.  Whenever government is allowed to dictate how we think, regardless of their reasons, we have lost our way and we are no longer a free country.  And lets not lose sight of the fact this law came into being because of a feeling that some LGBT people might be discriminated against, not that they were discriminated against.  If they had been, the discrimination laws would have kicked in, but this new law goes a step beyond and gets into the realm of the thought police, that scares the Hell out of me.

PS  How come an ANTIFA demonstrator can name call and makes vile threats against a Trump supporter and it’s ok, we call it freedom of speech.  But, if a nurse calls a transgender by the wrong pronoun, they can be jailed?

The once almost universally embraced ethic of treating others as you would like to be treated, of being respectful, of holding to a professional presentation with others is being tossed out the window in favor of special rules for special groups.

Suddenly there is a legal requirement to learn and adjust to who knows how many genders that may or may not be obvious. Suddenly there is a legal requirement to learn pronouns that that may or may not be acceptable to the patient. All of this mandated regulation to avoid an offense that could cost your career, separate you from your hard earned money or land you in jail.

This is nuts. It’s seriously nuts. It’s personal emotional hysteria (zero scientific basis) translated to bullying tactics, power over others and control. If we bend to it we are all nuts.

Like most healthcare workers, (working below the RN level) they don’t have much of a voice. These are the people who work for low wages and under sometimes very difficult circumstances. None of the people we know in this business thought this LBGT class was needed.

There is no evidence to support it was needed and no evidence that it will do anything for anyone, except for those receiving the class tuition. There was no evidence at any time the legislation was moving forward in the house and senate that actual discrimination was involved. It was only the [feeling] that there could be, somewhere, sometime…maybe. And this feeling was based on what, a polling in the LBGT community?

Suddenly, thanks to the Democrat legislators that cater to the LBGT community, somebody is making a whole lot of money off the lower rung of our healthcare workers. These are the hard working people, doing tough and sometimes heart wrenching work. They are often abused by their patients who suffer from dementia or brain damage. Those patients often kick, hit, bite and spit. Imagine changing the diaper of one these folks and then being slapped across the face or clawed?

If there was any legislation needed, it would be for our CNA’s and LVN’s to be allowed to use soft restraints on dangerous patients or patients that continually hurt themselves. CA took these medical restraints away several years for an entire industry because of a few isolated complaints by family members who didn’t see the need, but also didn’t have to deal with their relatives 24/7. Now there are many more patient injuries, especially from falls and more injuries to medical staff too – brilliant, eh? That’s what happens when gov steps and casts a broad net to fix a tiny problem.

Better get your binaries straight there Captain Jack.

And if you’re going to address these people you better not over look anyone or else you will be in big trouble.

Those healthcare workers better memorize this. And that goes for you, too, Captain Jack. It’s only a matter of time before people who run blogs must “learn” this.

This will only increase the burden on these workers and drive up the cost of healthcare which is already unaffordable.

    The Demorats are pure evil.

  5. Joe says:

And pardon the language, but Captain Jack, you better get ready to shovel sh*t. ALL of us better get ready.

After all, the ex-mayor of that literal sh*t hole is going to be the next governor and probably with a Demorat super majority. You think things were bad under Brown? Well you ain’t seen nothing.

The whole state will need shovels!

They gotta update that song…if you’re going to San Fransciso…you’ll be sure to wear sh*t in your hair…

Another crazy SF solution, an open air urinal in at Delores Park. It’s a solution that fits for those who refuse to use bathrooms even when they are provided:

San Francisco has a long, sometimes creative, history of dealing with public urination. In 2002, the city increased the fine for the crime up to $500, but that did little to deter it.

Last summer, the city painted close to 30 walls with a repellant that makes urine spray back on the offender, San Francisco Public Works spokeswoman Rachel Gordon said.

Solar-powered toilets roll through city streets several afternoons a week. And city crews have inspected 10,000 light posts to make sure they won’t fall over from erosion after a three-story-tall light corroded by a likely mix of human and dog urine, and weighted down by a large banner, toppled.

“Dolores Park has seen an exponential increase in the number of visitors. On a sunny Saturday, it can host between 7,000 and 10,000 people. One of the goals of the renovation was to address the littering and public urination issues that were rampant at the park before the renovation,” Madland said.

Along with the open-air urinal, attendants are staffing 10 public toilets to encourage people to use them. They clean and restock supplies and make sure people don’t use drugs or sleep inside the restrooms.

Early training has definitely fallen out of fashion.

The hypocrites n CA can go pound sand!

Where were the tears, the wrenching and tearing of hair when Obama separated families?

      WASHINGTON

President Barack Obama separated parents from their children at the border.

Obama prosecuted mothers for coming to the United States illegally. He fast tracked deportations. And yes, he housed unaccompanied children in tent cities.

The president that could do no wrong did just about everything wrong but the media and his like minded comrades protected him, coddled him, and swooned at his feet.

Seriously, Calif. needs to change its motto from, “Eureka, I’ve found it to, “The gov’t owns it.”
