Sky is Falling – Don’t Buy It

Good grief Charlie Brown, there’s just no peace to be had in the few days remaining before Christmas 2019. Why? Because the sky is falling in newsrooms and DC: 1. Trump won’t bend to the will of Chuck and Nancy on the wall, 2. Trump is pulling troops out of Syria, and 3. General Mattis is out (they’re sayin he was the last ‘adult’ keeping President Trump in check). Oh my!

In Tweets and articles the delirium is of the high voltage variety. A few have suggested that there would have been a coup by now in some locations. I’ve never seen so many drama queens spinning out of control.

1. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer and 23 other Democratic senators voted in favor of legislation, to the tune of $10.4 billion, that included border fencing over 700 miles, authorization for the removal of people that had entered illegally, and measures to “end catch and release.” The fencing portion was initially two fences with space in between but it was cut back to the current, unworkable little fence that is easily compromised. The legislation did not accomplish it’s intended purpose. The Wall would at least be an improvement. But the fact that lawmakers are failing to meet their officially sworn duties to the American people is the most troubling of all.

2. Conservative Treehouse recalls the mess Obama Policy made in Syria. Former Secretary John Kerry audio indicates, “Flashback 2016: Secretary of State John Kerry Admits President Obama Intentionally Armed ISIS in Syria…” Over a period of three years we facilitated the rise of ISIS and the growth of the territory they controlled…without authorization to be there. McCain was part of it too.

3. Time for a wake up call on hysteria over Mattis leaving:

January 25, 2013 – President Barack Obama fired General James Mattis, the head of Central Command, without even calling the general to let him know he was being replaced. … “I am told that General Mattis was traveling and in a meeting when an aide passed him a note telling him that the Pentagon had announced his replacement as head of Central Command. It was news to him — he hadn’t received a phone call or a heads-up from anyone at the Pentagon or the White House,” Thomas E. Ricks reports.

In reality, Charlie Brown, there’s nothing or unusual or catastrophic going on in DC or the newsrooms that cover the goings on. The same old promises, the same old arguments, and the same old self mostly serving legislation either passes or doesn’t.

Now…let it go, let it go, let it go…and have a Merry, Merry Christmas! (Powerful base!)

(And for all of you Queen fans, their version of Bohemian Rhapsody is really good! Talented young people!

Can’t stand NBC or CBS news and ABC isn’t much better. Especially since they describe anything even remotely related to TheDonald as a “bombshell.”
And you can’t pay me enough to tune in CNN.

Gotta consider the source these days and discount accordingly. Good thing there are a LOT of other places where one can actually get news!

(5pm AZ time on Friday) It’s up to $13.3 million!)

  2. Chris says:

Yes, we must all trust Dear Leader. Any negative news about him is fake.

    Definitely not a cult.

I have already pointed out to you that that headline is a lie, and yet here you are, spreading it again. I read the article, and nowhere in the quoted portion does Kerry “admit President Obama intentionally armed ISIS. You can read it yourself and see the same thing.

You dispute real news while promoting fake news.

Mattis’ condemnation of Trump in that letter was brutal. Even Brian Kilmeade told Sarah Sanders that Trump was essentially “refounding ISIS” with this move. Soldiers are expressing shame that they are being forced to abandon the Kurds they’ve been fighting alongside.

But you don’t have a problem with any of this, because Dear Leader.

Remember when you were all so mad about Bill Clinton, who had no power over Loretta Lynch at all, speaking with her in private about unknown topics during the Hillary investigation?

Where is your outrage over Trump constantly venting his fury over the investigation into his campaign to people under his direct authority and who have authority over the investigation?

    • Pie Guevara says:

Oh yeah, this is soooooooo outrageous. Sheesh, what an intentional dope! Unelected executive branch bureaucrats serve at the pleasure of the president, not the other way around. Obama, Clinton and every other Rat bastard president knew this and acted accordingly. The ONLY difference between them and Trump is that Trump is completely transparent about it you SFB, anal-retentive schmuck.

      • Chris says:

So you have no problem with Clinton and Lynch’s tarmac meeting, then?

      • Tina says:

        Agree Pie AND…

Funny how the lefties like to pretend powerlessness when it suits them.

Lynch, serving under Obama, meeting with former President BC (husband of the woman who served under Obama as SofS and would become the future Dem candidate for president, in private (not even security guards were inside) IS suspicious. Why not arrange a meeting that would be transparent if there was nothing to hide. Why were the secret service ordered to remain outside if there was nothing to hide? Also…

This occurred as the investigations into misdeeds by HC were ongoing…was the former prezzy pressuring Lynch in her capacity a AG to let Hillary slide. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT FOLLOWED! Also…

Democrats (And Apparently at least Mr. McCain) used the power of government under Obama, Democrat, AGAINST a political opponent in an ELECTION and AFTER the deep state continued to try to bring him down!

Anyone with half a brain gets how corrupt, how third world tyrannical, that is. (Hillary’s deal to use all the DNC money for herself as well as her Bernie cheat also plays into it)

As we now know Hillary and her underlings and associates were treated much differently by the FBI and DOJ under Obama than Trump and his underlings and associates have been while deep state, Hillary/Obama/Uniparty faithful at FBI and DOJ pretended to be unbiased.

        Thees two cases SCREAM corruption.

The arranged secret meeting between Lynch and BC (The got caught by a wandering reporter at the airport) has even more significance now in light of everything that followed.

        • Chris says:

Lynch, serving under Obama, meeting with former President BC (husband of the woman who served under Obama as SofS and would become the future Dem candidate for president, in private (not even security guards were inside) IS suspicious.

Yes, that’s correct. I said so here at the time, and Lynch rightfully recused herself.

This occurred as the investigations into misdeeds by HC were ongoing…was the former prezzy pressuring Lynch in her capacity a AG to let Hillary slide.

          Good question.

The irony that you’ve somehow missed here is that we know for a FACT that President Trump pressured Sessions to let the investigation into his campaign go, because he did that publicly. Sessions, like Lynch, rightfully resigned. However, when Lynch resigned, Obama did not publicly complain about how unfair that was and how Lynch was betraying him and the Democratic party, because that’s insane and unethical behavior. But that’s exactly what Trump did to Sessions.

Trump attacked Sessions constantly for recusing himself from an investigation he was legally required to recuse himself from. (Lynch, on the other hand, was not legally required to recuse herself, but did so for appearance’s sake. Remember when we as a country had standards?)

I don’t remember you ever saying a word against Trump for his unethical, corrupt, and legally incompetent attacks on Sessions for recusing himself.

Now the acting AG, Matthew Whittaker, has said he won’t recuse himself despite DOJ ethics experts telling him he needs to. You’ve said nothing about that whatsoever, despite Whittaker’s clear bias.

You do not care about corruption. You only care about bashing your enemies.

          • Chris says:

Correction: I said “resigned” a few times above when I meant “recused.”

          • Tina says:

I care about all corruption and crime.

The media works hard to create an air of innocence (and competence) around Hillary Clinton. They did everything they could to promote and protect her before and after the election. They did this even when Comey read that statement citing explicit grounds to indict her…and then let her off the hook with the lamest excuse that has no legal basis: she “didn’t intend” to send classified material over her (illegal) private server (that she lied repeatedly about)! The laws she broke do not require “intent” to establish guilt…just doing what she did is enough…Comey new this but did it anyway. Her criminal activity is excessive and yet neither she nor anyone under her was ever cited or sent to jail. Highly irregular!

On the other hand, the media works hard to create a perception of guilt and corruption around the so-called Trump Russia probe. Over 90% of reporting on Trump has been and continues to be negative.

The people are not being fully informed. In fact there is a deep bias and a blatant double standard in the media that mirrors activities in what we call the “deep state.” That concerns me deeply and I think it should concern you.

Discussing either case with you is a waste of time. You’ve shown little interest in discovering that which the media will not disclose or investigate.

I have a very small voice in the scheme of things but I am committed to the truth coming out…the whole truth…so that guilty parties are held accountable and we the American people can regain trust in our government again.

          • Chris says:

I care about all corruption and crime.

No, you do not, as I just illustrated, and as your response confirmed.

I laid out, very clearly, why Trump’s actions toward his previous AG as well as the current AG’s refusal to recuse are much more overtly corrupt than Bill’s meeting with Lynch. You ignored this entirely.

Again, both were wrong. As someone who actually cares about corruption, I believe Lynch absolutely should have recused herself, and that the tarmac meeting never should have happened. Unlike you, I have no problem admitting when people on my side do crappy things.

But you’re literally arguing that a meeting where a former president might have put pressure on an AG to end an investigation is worse than a current president definitely putting pressure on an AG to end an investigation. That is nonsense, and you have no way to defend it, which is why you didn’t.

But it’s your pattern; all through the election, you argued that the things Bill and Hillary were accused of were worse than things we know for a fact Donald Trump has done, because he did them publicly. Hillary’s alleged foul-mouthed outbursts, for instance, were worse, in your mind, than Trump’s open vulgarity. This isn’t rational, Tina. It’s just pure bias.

  7. Peggy says:

Turns out Trump had a plan to pull out of Syria after all.

    ———

Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia join forces against Iran in Syria:

“Secret talks reach understandings with Russia that will enable Israel to retain the freedom to attack Iranian and Hezbollah targets in Syria.

(December 21, 2018 / Israel Hayom) The Russian forces currently in Syria will take action to restrain Hezbollah and Iranian activity there, according to understandings reached by Israel, the United States, Jordan and Saudi Arabia with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a Jordanian official confirmed to Israel Hayom.

The understandings are the product of behind-the-scenes diplomatic talks that were underway prior to U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision this week to withdraw American forces from Syria.

According to the terms of the understanding, Russia will continue to give Israel the freedom to strike Hezbollah and Iranian targets and weaponry that threaten the “balance of power” in Syria. According to the Jordanian official, it was these understandings between Trump and Putin that paved the way for the U.S. decision to pull its forces from Syria.

Other high-ranking Jordanian officials have confirmed that Jordan, Israel and Saudi Arabia are working together to contain the threat posed by Iran and Hezbollah’s presence in Syria. Several of them emphasized that U.S. officials had made it clear that U.S. intelligence agencies would increase cooperation with Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, particularly on sharing intelligence, in a joint attempt to counter Iran’s attempt to create a contiguous Shi’ite corridor from Tehran to Beirut.”

    • Tina says:

      Excellent, Peggy!

The option to assist any of the above nations in future is always there.

Bringing our troops home right now is a risk. I worry about the Kurds and pray there are plans to assure their security and right to exist.

America has done quite enough at this time. Isis is not completely gone but their power is greatly reduced. Although the abrupt timing of this decision may have shocked a few people it’s clear they always knew this decision was on the table. Trump signaled very early he wanted to bring our troops home AND he made it very clear in the speech in Riyadh, that nations in the ME must handle the terror problem themselves. America has no real power to crush violent, radical religious elements at the core. Only Muslims can do that.

Trump surrounds himself with people of differing opinions. Good leaders do that so they can evaluate all kinds of opinions and ideas and then make what they think is the best decision.

      • Peggy says:

This plan of getting other countries involved more with their military commitment aligns with Trump’s similar goal of getting NATO countries more involved with their financial obligations and military commitment.

I agree with Rand Paul, it is time for America to stop being the police force for the world. It’s time for us to stop spending our treasure and sacrificing our soldiers so other countries don’t have to. We’ve all seen the young able bodied men from the middle east flee their countries for the safety of Europe instead of fighting for their freedom, leaving their families behind.

I have no problem assisting with the training and furnishing the weapons needed for their own self defense, but not for free and only for a short limited time. Either the country or NATO must pay for our participation. No more free rides.

Us being in Afghanistan for over 17 years, involved in a war with no end is beyond insane. Having military bases all over the world for 70 years at our expense is ridiculous.

I see Trump as a unique blend of someone extremely goal driven based on his military schooling and his business profession. Win and save money for the majority to benefit from is his bottom line. Mattis, like other career military leaders have a myopic view point because of their limited life experiences. Trump was right to replace Mattis for refusing to follow an order by his commander.

        • Chris says:

Stop using the word “plan” as if it should ever be used in the same sentence as Trump. President “Poor Me” is having a meltdown/pity party on Twitter…on Christmas Eve…after causing a government shutdown that he himself said he would take credit for…

This is pathetic, and you need to start thinking of an exit strategy.

          • Peggy says:

Stop telling me what to say or not say. I’m not one of your students.

Trump said he would take responsibility if Congress failed to pass the budget, after Pelosi said he didn’t have the votes in the House. He did have the votes!

It passed with ONLY republican votes and not one democrat’s vote. It is now stopped in the Senate because no democrat will vote to pass it.

Democrats ARE responsible for the shutdown!

          • Tina says:

Chris, how about you stop trying to order Peggy around.

          • Chris says:

Peggy, you literally just admitted that Trump said he would take credit for the shutdown before blaming Democrats. Trump said he would be “proud” to be responsible, and now he passes the buck.

            And you admire this man.

            Shameful.
