Illegal Alien Shoots at Deputy

by Jack

Javier Morales, a young man with an extensive criminal history was recently stopped by a Napa County Deputy Sheriff.  That traffic stop turned into a fatal gun battle.  Please read the story below:

As body cam footage will show, Morales appears cooperative and non-violent.  He shows no anger towards the deputy, who initially is standing on the right side of his vehicle out of traffic.  This places her slightly behind his front passenger door.  She is shining her flashlight into the vehicle and at first you can Morales face and both hands very clearly.

She explains to him, she is coming around to his side of the car and not to move.  At this very point Morales left hand dips suspiciously to the front of his seat.   It only takes a  second.  The deputy did not react, so its possible she either did not see it or felt that the action was not a threat… my take was there was possibly a weapon on the floor.

Now the deputy is walking behind his car and approaches Morales at his 7 o’clock position, that being, slightly behind the driver door (smart-probably saved her life), so it is necessary for him to twist to his left to see her.

She commands him to roll down his window, but Morales fumbles about in an odd hesitation. She repeats her order.  It’s, almost like he is thinking about doing it, but he’s doing something else, then he rolls down the electric window and looks in her direction.  As he does he produces a pistol and fires almost point blank at the deputy.  But, it appears he has aimed wide and the shot misses.

She retreats quickly, saying “shots fired” twice over her shoulder mike and by the time she reaches the right rear of Morales’ vehicle she has drawn her pistol and she opens fire.  There are a number of shots fired, about 16, by the deputy.  At least one fatally wounds Morales.

News footage is available of the shooting and you can use this link to see the body cam video, if you wish.

Of the eight news links that I have personally reviewed, not one of them mentioned the fact that Morales was a Mexican National and that he was in the country illegally.

None of the news stories mention that Napa County is a proud sanctuary county!  None of the stories mention that Morales has been held criminal detainers for ICE.  Although I did find two stories that said had been deported three times, so the inference was he was here illegally.

None of the stories I reviewed mention the fact that this State will take legal action against any CA officer that notifies ICE of an illegal alien held in jail or if they otherwise provide assistance to ICE.

The omission of pertinent details has the dangerous potential to slant a news story.  This one reminded me of the story about a 12 year old girl reporter who was threatened by AZ officer to stay out of his business.  It took some time but eventually the facts in that case did come out.  But, the lead story and headlines was for the girl and against the cop.

This seems to be a systemic problem in the media.  It certainly was in the Travon Martin  case.  Same with the in-custody death of Freddie Grey, officers were convicted in the media and found innocent in court.  There are many other examples of this injustice, especially whenever President Obama inserted himself.

We had a rash of biased reporting during his term and race relations sank to a new low.  So irresponsible reporting does take a toll, i.e. black football players taking a knee or chanting “hands up, don’t shoot.”

It’s clear to me that it’s not safe to assume any news stories are as first reported.  It would appear the stories about police and about politics are prone to being edited in a way to fit a narrative and not the facts.  They are often done in such a clever way we would hardly notice.

It is estimated that the mainstream news media is composed of about 93% democrats.  This might help explain why  80% of the news stories about Trump are negative and why so many other news stories are tainted with bias.

It’s my opinion that we’ve moved from reporting the facts to news-editorials.  If so, we’re on very dangerous ground folks.

Give that deputy a community cleanup award!

  2. Libby says:

“None of the news stories mention that Napa County is a proud sanctuary county!”

You bet it is. Who do you think picks the grapes? You have to stop being so simple-minded about this stuff. (Do you really want some grubby druggie picking your grapes?)

And it’s you who are fairly panting with bias. Seriously, what difference does the immigration status of this criminal make in this situation? None. The deputy could just as easily have been shot by a criminal citizen. Happens all too frequently. The officer killed in Davis recently was done in by home-grown crazy … but this does not spur you to post … for reasons all too obvious.

Jack, I will forebear to use the “R” word, though it is entirely accurate. Jack, you are a flaming zenophobe. Get a grip.

    • Post Scripts says:

Libby, you ask what difference does the immigration status of this criminal make in this situation? How about, if Mr. Morales had been kept at home due to a secure border, he could not have been here in the first place and none of this would have happened?

It strikes my as ridiculous that liberals are willing to spend almost any amount of money to take guns from law abiding citizens, or make said citizens into criminals by adding new gun laws or make guns/ammo so expensive that manufacturers are put out of business. But, for a fraction of that tyrannical cost, we could simply improve border security and stop a tremendous amount of all types of real crime. The cost verses benefit says border security is a much better deal and it doesn’t tread on our Constitutional rights.

      • Chris says:

But, for a fraction of that tyrannical cost, we could simply improve border security and stop a tremendous amount of all types of real crime.

“Improving border security” is an ever-shifting goalpost with the right, though. We know this because border security has been improved by leaps and bounds over the past two decades, illegal border crossings have gone way down in that time, and yet somehow Trump became president on a platform of “Scary immigrants are coming to get you!” and has declared a fake national emergency to get a border wall, which we don’t need.

This does not make sense. It is not rational. Therefore, we need to look at irrational motivating factors, like xenophobia.

And the Wall is no less tyrannical than the gun control measures you hate, you just don’t realize it because you empathize more with gun owners than illegal immigrants. More migrants are going to die with Trump’s wall in place. Since very few illegal immigrants commit further crimes once they are here, that is not worth the cost.

I bet you’ll never hear about this on CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, etc. Every taxpayer in the country should know this.

  4. Chris says:

Of the eight news links that I have personally reviewed, not one of them mentioned the fact that Morales was a Mexican National and that he was in the country illegally.

Then how did you find this out?

This one reminded me of the story about a 12 year old girl reporter who was threatened by AZ officer to stay out of his business. It took some time but eventually the facts in that case did come out.

    Explain, please.

I’ll give you “hands up, don’t shoot,” but there’s nothing wrong with taking a knee. Trayvon Martin had nothing to do with the police, and Zimmerman has proven to be a violent racist in other incidents as well. The police absolutely were in the wrong in the Freddie Gray case. And I don’t see you condemning Trump sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong.

  5. Chris says:

Also, your thesis is confusing here: you start by talking about how the stories didn’t mention he was in the country illegal, but then you conflate those stories with stories where you feel a police officer was wrongly blamed. But you never said that the stories you read blamed the officer in this case, so it seems like you’re conflating two different problems without realizing it.

    • Post Scripts says:

Chris, my point was clear, not sure why you didn’t see it? Basically it comes down to this: I have a problem with the editorializing of the news. Sometimes it is done by deliberate omissions, sometimes its introducing facts not in evidence, whatever the means, the end result is the news is less objective and too often disseminated with a political bias. Yes, the stories I cited were different, but the common denominator was the bias.

  6. Libby says:

I wonder if I can get you to realize that what you are saying is … you are quite content to see our constabulary murdered by our own citizens, it’s when them wicked foreigners do it that you cannot stomach.

We have border security, but it’s not a perfect world and never will be and you, Jack, are a flaming zenophobe.

    • Post Scripts says:

Libby in your mind anyone that is troubled by thousands of foreign nationals invading the country and breaking our laws and costing our taxpayers dearly equals being a flaming xenophobe? Then why do you bother to have a lock on your front door, why not let just whoever is passing by stop in and see what you have to offer? And by the way, you misspelled xenophobe.

      • Chris says:

“Libby in your mind anyone that is troubled by thousands of foreign nationals invading the country and breaking our laws and costing our taxpayers dearly equals being a flaming xenophobe?”

Yes, because that isn’t happening. They aren’t “invading.” A very small minority break further laws once they get here. As a group, they contribute more to the economy than they take. These are facts. Ignoring them in favor of a hysterical, fear-based narrative so you can find a scapegoat is the very height of xenophobia.

        • Post Scripts says:

Pie Here: Re They aren’t “invading.” A very small minority break further laws once they get here.

Sometimes you just have to laugh at Lickspittle. He is such a consummate progressive ass and serial liar. (Redundant, “progressive” and “liar” are synonyms.)

          1) People coming here illegally ARE BREAKING THE LAW and continue TO BREAK THE LAW by not showing up in court for review and working here ILLEGALLY after their court dates have expired.

          2) The numbers of people alone coming here illegally constitutes an invasion of people who have no respect for immigration law. They, in fact, treat immigration law as a joke thanks to Democrats and left-wing morons like the Lickspittle Liar.

          • Chris says:

Our current immigration laws *are* a joke. And you typing “BREAKING THE LAW” in all caps does nothing but show how irrationally, pants-crappingly scared you are over nothing, and how willing you are to run to Big Daddy Government over it. Oh no! They’re breaking the law by…living here! And working!!! Call the police! INVASION!

I’m sure you have buddies who have guns they’re not supposed to own and smoke things they’re not supposed to smoke. Think about how little you care about that, then compare that to how much you care about whether your Hispanic neighbor filed the proper paperwork and waited in line for twenty years before he started living here, and then try and figure out what explains the difference.

          • Post Scripts says:

Pie Here: UNBELIEVABLE! Someone please tell me, where does this lickspittle liar and loser jackass Chris whom I have never met and who has never met me get off telling me who my “buddies” are and who I associate with? How bizarre is that? What is wrong with Chris? What little grip on sanity and reality Chris may have ever had, he has completely lost it.

From Chris’ comment I can only surmise that he should seriously consider stopping taking whatever cocktail of street drugs he ingests daily and get back on his prescribed medications.

For someone who claims to support equal treatment under the law and is against double standards, Chris has no problem dismissing equal treatment and justice under immigration law.

In any case, given how Chris has treated his own mother like ****, why should I or anyone expect anything else but this sort of sheer idiocy from him? It is quite sad, really. I should stop laughing at Chris who is obviously mentally ill.

          • Chris says:

In any case, given how Chris has treated his own mother like ****

            Explain.

Facts are what matters, not talking points. This info is from two years ago and not reflective of the hundreds of thousands to millions who have crossed our border illegally.

The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers:
“Report by Matt O’Brien and Spencer Raley | September 27, 2017 | View the Full Report (PDF)

          Key Highlights
In 2017, the total cost of illegal immigration for the United States – at the federal, state, and local levels – was approximately $116 billion.

FAIR arrived at this number by subtracting the tax revenue paid by illegal aliens – about $19 billion – from the total economic impact of illegal migration, $134.9 billion.

In 2013, the estimated total cost of illegal migration was approximately $113 billion. So, in under four years, the cost has risen nearly $3 billion.

Evidence shows that the tax payments made by illegal aliens fail to cover the costs of the many services they consume.

A large percentage of illegal aliens who work in the underground economy frequently avoid paying any income tax at all.

Many illegal aliens actually receive a net cash profit through refundable tax credit programs”

FAIR does not give facts, it distorts them. It was founded by a white nationalist, John Tanton. For a group of people who hate being called racist, you guys sure make a lot of effort to prove the case against you.

Another caravan of two thousand, many from Africa, stopped in southern Mexico.

Current estimates for illegals in our country range from 12-20 million. That’s already an invasion and they keep coming.

You’re wasting your time arguing with that loon.

  7. Libby says:

    1) They are not “invading”; they are coming to do work YOU will not do.
    2) A tiny percentage break our laws; most are model citizens.
    3) YOU lock you doors against your citizen neighbors BECAUSE they are just as likely to steal your stuff as any wicked foreigner.
    4) You refuse to face these FACTS, because they mess with your fear and prejudice, and I cannot understand why it is that you clutch at these things when it is not necessary.

    • Post Scripts says:

Libby we allow the immigration of more people than any other country in the world, over a million a year. We are good people and we are generous people – I get so damned tired of your raging on us! We have always sought some form of well organized immigration. We’ve tried to maintain balances in lawful immigration for the sole purpose the preservation of our founding ideals. What the HELL is wrong with that????? NOTHING – THATS WHAT.

If we didn’t do that – we would have giant sub-cultures dividing us and a house divided will not stand, ever hear of that? Borders, language, culture, make a country!

These new illegals, for the most part, don’t come here [just] to do the jobs we won’t. I’m sick of hearing that BS. They are not cutting in line just to do us a favor. That’s another one of your liberal unicorn ideas. They come here because we pay about 300% more per hour than they would make back in Mexico and they don’t mind pushing other people out of the way to get it.

Then once they get a toehold and next thing their relatives are headed north for the great benefits we’ve paid for and they send us their aged, their infirm, etc., and it is costing us dearly. The illegals ARE forming a subculture here and that’s wrong and its dangerous.

The latest ripoff is this dumping of their unwanted kids on us, to be taken care of on our dime. Yeah, I feel bad for the kids, Mexico should be prosecuting their parents, but they don’t. They send them here instead and they ain’t picking anything Libby, so get a clue.

Talk about refusing to face the facts… you are the poster child for people who refuse to face the facts!

You are always calling me a racist, a bigot, etc. and I’m sick of it. You know that I have absolutely no issue with anyone coming thru the front door of this great nation legally!!!! So take that prejudice and shove it.

This is a NATION OF LAWS and I respect that and I want to keep it that way. I know without a doubt, if you had your way this country wouldn’t last 10 minutes, because you do not respect our system or its laws. Libby, I think you are a hardcore communist.

      • Libby says:

“If we didn’t do that – we would have giant sub-cultures dividing us and a house divided will not stand, ever hear of that?”

Indeed I have. It’s been purported by frightened racists about EVERY SINGLE sizeable wave of immigration this country has experienced.

Guess what … we is still going strong. Well … we were. This Trump Thing … now this is a REAL problem … but it is you long-term residents and your fondness for authoritarians (of the white male variety) that’s posing the threat to the ideals upon which the nation what founded.

You call the facts around illegal immigration BS, and refuse to accept them … but they are still a matter of objective reality. Grape growers need illegal labor to get their crops in … ask them. Denying this will not make it go away.

“The latest ripoff is this dumping of their unwanted kids on us, to be taken care of on our dime.”

And this … this is just cruel. The only person I know of who has ever called these kids “unwanted” is you. Their parents want them to escape hideously criminal corruption in their countries, and have a decent life. You got a problem with this, and I’ve got a problem with you, mister.

      • Chris says:

But these are not facts, and you cannot show any objective, non-partisan source that confirms them as facts, and you never have, in the decade I have watched you make these claims. They are just your feelings.

    • Joe says:

In another story of national tolerance, an 81-year-old man wearing a MAGA hat was assaulted in a New Jersey ShopRite on Tuesday.

Maybe that 81 year old was one of Jussie Smollett’s attackers…after all, he said he was attacked by white men wearing red hats. Maybe Chris and Libby Smollett will tell us that 81 year old is hoaxing us and if you don’t believe that you’re just racist.

  8. Joe says:

And Jack, how dare you use the term “illegal alien.” He’s an “undocumented migrant” and to Libby and Chris he’s an honored guest that deserves sanctuary. (And by the way, he just uses the gun to pick grapes.)
