Voters Reject Socialists and Aged Politicians

Not feeling the Bern?  You’re not alone.

A new NBC/WSJ poll has revealed what Americans don’t want as president – a socialist or a septuagenarian over 75. Unfortunately for Democrats, their two front-runners each possess at least one of those two qualities. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, 77, is an avowed socialist, according to Bloomberg. Though former vice president Joe Biden is yet to declare his candidacy, he is 76.

Specifically, the poll found that only 37 percent of the respondents found a presidential candidate over 75 desirable. Majority of voters, in fact, indicated they would be enthusiastic or comfortable with a youthful president. According to the survey, 58 percent of the respondents would be accepting of a candidate under the age of 40.

Socialism was also seen as a ‘dirty word,’ according to the poll. Just 18 percent of Americans had a positive view of the term while 50 percent viewed it negatively, according to NBC News. With regard to capitalism, 19 percent viewed it negatively while 50 percent had a positive view.  END

The above pretty much mirrors my feelings too.  I’m repulsed by politicians who spend 30-40 years in office and refuse to step aside, even when they are pushing 80!  Next, I don’t want socialists in government, because I’ve seen what socialism does to otherwise good economies.  You would have to be an idiot to want socialism.  I’m also not comfortable with Muslims in high office, if all they can focus on is hating our best ally in the Middle East, Israel.

    Off topic.

Russian collusion connection linked to State Dept. in 2016.

“Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson was in contact with a State Department official who had close contacts with dossier author Christopher Steele, according to emails recently obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The September 2016 emails show Simpson was desperate to make contact with Jonathan Winer, a longtime associate of then-Secretary of State John Kerry.

Winer has been confirmed as a source for an article published the following day. That article, written by journalist Michael Isikoff, was the first to publicize Steele’s claims about Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Winer, a longtime aide to former Secretary of State John Kerry, was a source for that article, which laid out Steele’s allegations about Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser who would become the target of FBI surveillance.

The emails, which were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed on TheDCNF’s behalf by Judicial Watch, show for the first time that Simpson had direct contact with a State Department official.”

What’s the “Russian collusion connection” here, Peggy? Glenn Simpson isn’t Russian, nor is Christopher Steele. Steele spoke to Russian sources, true, but those sources were working *against* the Russian government and exposing their bad actions. They were not working for them. And, of course, the dossier wasn’t reported on until January 2017, after Trump had already been elected. So the dossier wasn’t used against Trump during the campaign at all.

That’s a far cry from what the Trump campaign has been accused of, which is working with agents working *for* the Russian government to influence the election. Which we know for a fact they were willing to do, as Don Jr. attempted to do at Trump Tower. So the idea that “The real Russian collusion was on the Hillary campaign!” is just desperate.
