He is currently on probation for the charges, and Garcia said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had placed him under a detainer order that would allow him to be held in jail until federal authorities arrive. The order was repeatedly ignored by Santa Clara County due to its sanctuary policies.

Once more because of the political BS in DC these days, Americans are exposed to crime from a unnecessary entity.

If there was a Liberal in the Office of Presidency, and I’ll repeat from another post “America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand. ~ Harry S Truman” Pelosi and and Schemer would allocate the funds needed to prevent these murders.

And just across the bay in San Leandro:

The person’s legal status is irrelevant to the person’s feloniousness. Unless, of course, you are a xenophobe. The person’s race is irrelevant to the person’s feloniousness unless, of course, you are a racist. And I could go on … but you really ought to be able to get the point.

    • Harold says:

Speaking of points, your head outta fit the top office of the Trans-American building.
The only real point here that you make is that you could care less about the safety of your fellow citizen. Indeed we have crimes committed by legal citizens, but why should we have to deal with the illegal ones as well.

If not here illegally, then the 80 year old would be alive today, and so would Kathryn Steinle and many others.

Your use of negative, non applicable words to describe how others feel clearly shows you are just a leftist idiot, parroting party line words.

    • Post Scripts says:

Libby, what you are describing is called racial profiling and that’s bad when it’s done for biased reasons. However, there is another side here that has nothing to do with racism or bigotry, unless you think the Dept. of Justice and the FBI are racist and bigots? Because they DO track such offenses by race, age and gender as part of their national data base. Law enforcement uses this for statistical analysis. It’s information that is very important to a criminologist seeking to profile certain kinds of crimes to identify a suspect. Such crimes may be, but are not limited to, serial killers, serial rapists and serial arsonists… all heinous part one crimes. So, yes I get your point, but do you get mine?

      • Libby says:

“… what you are describing is called racial profiling and that’s bad when it’s done for biased reasons.”

Hmmmmm. We are having a failure to communicate. What I describe is the antithesis of profiling by any criteria … except feloniousness.

And yes, I get your point: that murder by an illegal resident is somehow worse than murder by a legal resident. It makes no sense (unless you’re a bigot), but I do get it.

        • Post Scripts says:

Libby, NO its not that murder by an illegal immigrant is worse…its that it was [preventable!] Key word: P-R-E-V-E-N-T-A-B-L-E!!!!!!! That killer gangster should not have been here protected by sanctuary status and that woman would not have been murdered. Geez Libs how can you miss such an obvious point?

          • Libby says:

            “Key word: P-R-E-V-E-N-T-A-B-L-E!!!!!!!”

Again … I must quarrel with your grasp of reality. Murder is not preventable … unless you want to lock us all up.

Murder will not be preventable, in the foreseeable future, as long as human beings administer our law enforcement. For all the charm of his appearance, the guy was, up to that point, just another druggie burglar. Up to this point, law enforcement in LA, San Jose, and one or two jurisdictions in between, do not have the capability to build a comprehensive picture of a fella’s degeneration … during a drug bust. Someday … maybe.

Furthermore, my understanding is that your fixation on “Sanctuary” status is beside the point. Santa Clara is 1) refusing to do the Feds’ job for them, unless they are paid for it, and 2) insisting that the Feds submit the necessary legal paperwork for same. Sounds sensible to me.

          • Post Scripts says:

Ye gads Libby, I know murder is not preventable. lol I trying so very hard to tell you that [if] that illegal alien was not here – that poor woman would not have been brutally butchered. That is how that one homicide was preventable. Surely you understand what I am saying?

          • Chris says:

Jack, couldn’t this same argument be made for new gun control laws any time someone is killed with a gun? Liberals believe a lot of those crimes are preventable if we just have tougher laws, more verification, and tougher enforcement of minor gun violations. Lots of congressional Dems have backed resolutions banning gun-buying from anyone on the no-fly list (a terrible idea, IMO, given how flawed that list is.)

If you don’t believe those things will reduce gun crime, why do you think tougher restrictions on immigration will prevent immigrants from being here illegally and committing crimes? Isn’t the logic that people find a way to get around the law?

To be fair this double standard seems to exist on both the left and the right, just in different directions. As you know I’ve come around to being more conservative on gun control due to thinking through this double standard.

    Hey, look at this:

    https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/03/steve-king-civil-war-meme.html

A whole hell of a lot more overt than Ms. Omar’s dubious syntax, don’t you think? He’s never gonna get those committee seats back carrying on like this.

  5. Libby says:

Ick. How can The Donald complain about his bad press, when he repeatedly does bad things?

    https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/03/trump-white-nationalist-accounts-suspended-retweets.html

Ick. The renewed scrutiny triggered has been triggered by a Twitter Fit he had on Sunday. What? … the man cannot learn?

    • Chris says:

I was just about to post about this, and the Steve King thing, Libby. Atrocious.

Trump is also taking Jeanine Pirro’s side against Muslims after she said that a woman wearing a hijab is a sign she doesn’t like America. It’s been clear since the campaign that Trump does not care about Muslim Americans. He didn’t even mention them by name in condemning the NZ attack. I believe Omar’s anti-Semitic comments were wrong and that Dems were right to condemn her, but the Republicans who did so have no ground to do so when they tolerate blatant anti-Muslim bigotry from their own.

In funnier news: my lovely representative David Nunes is suing Twitter and multiple accounts, including “Devin Nunes’ Mom” and “Devin Nunes’ Cow” for saying mean things about him on Twitter. Multiple tweets he cites in the case are clearly not legal defamation, but free speech. Just last year he called for a resolution demanding free speech on college campuses. Were the conservatives who were rightly concerned about that issue condemn Nunes’ attempts to get the government to shut down free speech in this instance?

Plus, counties from Oregon, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, etc. are establishing 2nd Amendment sanctuary gun zones.

It’s past time for those pushing sanctuary to spend some jail time alongside the Illegal Alien criminals they are protecting.
That’s right – I said ILLEGAL ALIENS. They are NOT immigrants unless here LEGALLY!!
