CA Home Prices

by Jack

Latest study discovered that almost 20% of a CA home price is due to regulations and taxes levied and imposed before the first shovel hits the dirt.   So, when liberals complain about the lack of affordable housing, remind them of their contribution to the problem.

Next, CA continues to suffer from a 20 year exodus that is taking this state from 1st place to near last place in all the areas that count, education, medical, energy costs, good highways, limited government, etc.  You can thank the liberals for this great destruction, because they have controlled everything from top to bottom in this great decline.  CA has suffered more at the hands of liberals than  any state in America has ever suffered.

If this isn’t enough to wake up America to the dangers posed by socialist liberals in control then nothing will.

And what about the property taxes?

A couple elections ago both Butte College and CUSD got property tax increases. Then the mosquito district got a tax increase. Now CARD is paying big bucks (your tax dollars) to a high priced consulting firm to get yet another property tax increase. The tax increases on your home are never ending. If you think CARD’s tax increase will be the last you will be wrong.

Jack, what’s your stand on CARD’s tax increase? Are you for it or against? If you are against it will you do anything to fight it?

    • Post Scripts says:

I’m against it, but my days of activism are over. Just don’t have the fire anymore, had some good times though.

    • Libby says:

“The tax increases on your home are never ending. If you think CARD’s tax increase will be the last you will be wrong.”

So? You don’t want your grand kids to have no place to play?

But I’m not big on “consultants” either. There should be an agency of the city, small, staffed by grant-writer types, responsible for investigating the feasibility of city department requests for “revenue enhancements”, as we like to call them … one year the cops, one year the CARD, one year the schools, like that. You can get federal grants to do some of this stuff.

But people who say they don’t want it done, will then turn around and yowl about living in a city with no facilities.

The resident liberals of this blog are able to prattle on and on about our rotten president, our racist immigration policies, and all the racist, rotten performances of supporters of same, but they’re strangely quiet about how liberal administrations have destroyed almost everything they’ve touched.
Not just California but simultaneously the major cities of California. Can we ask them if they support the liberal policies that transformed Detroit, Baltimore, NYC, Chicago, and many more places into third world slums?

    • Post Scripts says:

Well said CJ, but they won’t give an honest answer. They are in denial when it comes to accountability of any sort.

    • Libby says:

“… but they’re strangely quiet about how liberal administrations have destroyed almost everything they’ve touched.”

Like what, for instance, Chicken Little?

Covered California, a joint state of federal effort, has an additional 1.5 million people in this state with coverage. And that has destroyed what?

Detroit has just come out of bankruptcy. But it was the highly Republican and capitalist fervor for globalization of the nation’s industry that sent the city into bankruptcy in the first place.

You may have eyes, but you don’t see diddly.

  3. Libby says:

Bull, Jack. Would you live in a development with no sidewalks and no sewers? Like in Mississippi and Missouri?

Come on. This stuff’s got to be paid for!

    • Post Scripts says:

Libby when things cost twice as much as they should because of over-regulation that’s a problem that hurts those with low incomes first. Virtually every law, rule, regulation, etc., has a down-side along with it’s good intentions. This is why we should craft them very carefully and only when absolutely necessary. I don’t mind ponying up, as you say, but I don’t like being charged twice as much as in other states.

      • Libby says:

You have presented no evidence of “twice as much”.

You think sewers and street lights, roads and sidewalks, and bike lanes are cheap?

        20% sounds about right.

      • Harold says:

Cost be damned when your on the receiving end of entitlements.

And I was wondering if Libby’s reference to “wants of sideways” might be just a freudian slip for the need of more places to crap and dispose of drug paraphernalia on her Bay area sidewalks.
So then, who needs sewers. Silly Liberal!

California’s/Bay area liberal political direction is causing a home equity decline, especially in the Bay area. Which undoubtedly is contributing to the reason some of California home values are dropping at the highest rate in the country.

But who wants crap filled streets, (other than Bay area Liberals) especially when they create a unpleasant risk to look up at the EPA clean skies.
Oh my! to what Charmin, err chagrin do we place blame for that?

“If this isn’t enough to wake up America to the dangers posed by socialist liberals in control then nothing will.”
Hope you are Right, oh wait I know you are, cause otherwise you would not have noticed which direction you were stepping.
Oh Crap I just went Freudian.

Anyone have a theory about how pardoning Blagojevich, a man synonymous with “corrupt politician,” helps drain the swamp?

    • Post Scripts says:

I think that was wrong to pardon him, but I can also see how it could be justified. He’s out of politics, he’s done time and he’s basically ruined. He’s not a threat to anyone as far as we know and there are worse people who could use his cell space now. So, he gets cut some slack. I don’t like it, but I can see why.

      • Chris says:

Jack, as someone who paid attention to this blog throughout the entire Obama era, I can say one thing with absolute confidence: you would be outraged if Obama had done this for Blagojevich. Positively outraged. This isn’t mind-reading, this is observation.

      • Libby says:

That’s quite the moral lapse, there, Jack. Trump’s gonna let one of the nation’s great swamp rats out of prison. You are supposed to be indignant. What’s all this indifference to the fate of a Democratic slime ball?

Just more of that White-Guy solidarity, I suppose. You really DO identify with Trump, don’t you.

    • Cherokee Jack says:

      As I said above.
“The resident liberals of this blog are able to prattle on and on about our rotten president, our racist immigration policies, and all the racist, rotten performances of supporters of same, but they’re strangely quiet about how liberal administrations have destroyed almost everything they’ve touched.
Not just California but simultaneously the major cities of California. Can we ask them if they support the liberal policies that transformed Detroit, Baltimore, NYC, Chicago, and many more places into third world slums?”

Are you going to respond to this?

      • Chris says:

I guess my reply to this didn’t post yesterday. I’m short, my honest answer is that I think you may be conflating correlation with causation. Big cities have problems that rural areas do not. They also tend to be run by liberals because their demographics vote more liberal. Does that mean liberal policy is responsible for the unique problems in big cities? A way to test this would be to draw comparisons between big cities run by conservative leadership and big cities run by liberal leadership, but I rarely see such comparisons. If you’ve got them, share them.

        • Cherokee Jack says:

“A way to test this would be to draw comparisons between big cities run by conservative leadership and big cities run by liberal leadership, but I rarely see such comparisons. If you’ve got them, share them.”

Don’t need to. In court, a judge would declare Judicial Notice (you can google it) on the major cities ruined by liberals. Your liberal tactic of tap dancing to cloud the issue won’t get it this time.
Did you intentionally leave out the disastrous effect of liberal policies in California?

    • More Common Sense says:

Trump has not suggested a pardon for Blagojevich. He has suggested he might commute his sentence. Nothing has been done yet. At this time he is just considering action. If Trump commutes his sentence his conviction and all consequences of that conviction will remain. However, his sentence will be reduced.

If he does commute his sentence, I’ll hear out his reasons and make my judgement after I’ve had a chance to review them. That being said, I will have a hard time backing the commutation if there is no new information presented.

      • Chris says:

Thanks for the correction, MCS. Right now the reasoning from Trump is that Blagojevich was treated “very unfairly,” which if you look at past similar statements from Trump, usually means “he should have gotten away with all his corruption.” He also compared Blago’s sentence to murderers who have killed twenty-five people who are only sentenced to a year, which is, uh, not a thing that happens. Isn’t it fun to have a president who just makes stuff up?
