Elijah Cummings – Death of a Great Statesman!

by Jack

US Rep. Elijah Cummings, known for his devotion to Baltimore and civil rights and for blunt and passionate speechmaking, died Thursday morning, his office said. He was 68 years old. – Baltimore Sun.   Cummins had led the fight to impeach Donald Trump.  Most of his adult life was as a career politician.

Cummins called President Trump a racist when Trump disputed Cummins characterization over the condition of the City of Baltimore.  Trump called it rat infested and told Cummins he ought to be concerned about cleaning up his district because of crime, filth and blight.  Cummins and Trump sparred often.

Cummings and his wife were under investigation since June of this year by the IRS and others. See story here. https://thedailyconspiracy.com/2019/06/11/elijah-cummings-and-wife-embroiled-in-scandal/

Cummins was tied to the Lois Lerner scandal. However, today (Via WFB)  The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) sent tax documents on a targeted conservative group to Democratic staff on the House Oversight Committee, newly released emails show, despite previous denials by ranking Oversight Democrat Elijah Cummings (D., Md.) that such contact had occurred.

Emails released by the GOP-led Oversight Committee show Democratic staff requested information from the IRS’ tax-exempt division on True The Vote, a conservative group that monitors polling places for voter fraud.

Republicans and conservative activists say the IRS tax-exempt division, led by former official Lois Lerner, targeted dozens of conservative groups because of their politics while ignoring similar progressive organizations.

Cummings publicly requested information from True the Vote in October 2012 on its volunteer activities and training.

Hey Jack and Pie, you guys laughing too at Obama publicly endorsing the presidential candidate of another country, just like Putin was/is being accused of?!! Hypocrisy in bucket loads.

Also, Tulsi Gabbard is being accused of being a Russian asset by Hillary, just like Trump was/is. Can’t they get a different play book? ROTFLMBO!!

This is, of course, nothing like what Putin was accused of doing, and what the Russian government was proven to have done, in the 2016 election in the US, which went far beyond any “endorsement” and into computer hacking, among other crimes. And, of course, Obama no longer has any government position, so there is nothing wrong with him endorsing a candidate for any position, anywhere.

Your lack of ability to form analogies does not make other people hypocrites.

What Obama did to Netanyahu is as bad as what Hillary did to Trump.

Your bias and hatred for Trump and ALL republicans blinds your ability to see the truth right in front of your face, little boy.

Obama admin. sent taxpayer money to campaign to oust Netanyahu:
“The State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last year’s Israeli parliamentary elections, a congressional investigation concluded Tuesday.

Some $350,000 was sent to OneVoice, ostensibly to support the group’s efforts to back Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement negotiations. But OneVoice used the money to build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign — all of which set the stage for an anti-Netanyahu campaign, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said in a bipartisan staff report.”

Levin: If Israeli Gov’t Had a Mueller, ‘They Could’ve Indicted Obama’ for Election Meddling:
“Now if the Israeli prosecutors had, or the Israeli government had, a Robert Mueller, I suppose they could’ve indicted Obama and John Kerry and a whole load of Obama officials for interfering with their election,” stated Mark Levin. “Would anybody have had a problem with that?”

The hypocrisy of American election investigations into Israel:
“First, Obama — according to The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, a close watcher of the Obama team’s Mideast work — tried to “force a rupture in the governing coalition that will make it necessary for Netanyahu to take into his government [Tzipi] Livni’s centrist Kadima Party.”

When that didn’t work, the president went all in. A bipartisan report from the Senate, issued in July 2016, found that taxpayer dollars were involved. The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations concluded that $350,000 had gone to a group called OneVoice. It obeyed the rules of the grant, intended to support peace.

Once the grant ended, though, the infrastructure and resources “created, in part, from US grant funds” were, said the Senate, used “to support a political campaign to defeat the incumbent Israeli government.”

That campaign was known as “V15,” as in Victory 2015. Its aim seems to have been to elect as prime minister anyone other than Netanyahu. It looked like that was in the bag, too.

Only four days before the election, Reuters reported, the opinion polls showed Netanyahu’s Likud losing to Zionist Union by something on the order of four seats. Why not, with all the help Obama mustered?”

Good eulogy, Jack. Sad that so many of your commenters chose to respond in such a classless manner.

It is best to let an individual, who has past away, to face the Lord and HIS wrath than to pile on.

As much as I want to trash Cummings for his many sins. It is not my place to do so.

I would rather sit back and relax, knowing his punishment to deeper than the wrath I could ever pronounce upon him.
