War on Drugs – Guess What? We’re Losing!

by Jack Lee

“If you build a 20 foot wall, we’ll build a 21 foot ladder.” This is the often quoted philosophy of the Mexican drug cartels. They back it up by infiltrating, what US officials estimate to be, 40% of Mexico’s federal district attorney’s office! They’re also controlling Mexican army units on the border, arming themselves with automatic weapons and escalating an unrestrained brutality that includes the ever popular… beheadings of police officials.

“The rampaging drug violence is spilling over into the USA all along the border. The Mexican Military has made over 200 incursions into our country protecting Mexican Drug Runners, firing on our Border Guards with overwhelming force. A must read from Staff Writers Sara Carter and Kenneth Todd Ruiz. Sara was interviewed on MSNBC. Click here for that:

Then read about the outrageous activity on US soil. Our State Dept is NOT DOING ANYTHING! ” Right Side News.

#1 Issue for Obama Change

Posted by Tina

You have to read Abe Greenwalds entertaining piece in “Commentary”…

The Audacity of Dope

** We were told the 2008 election was all about monumental, life-and-death questions regarding the future of the country. Did we want to be the kind of nation that sends prisoners to foreign lands to be tortured? Did we want to continue on the path of unilateral preemptive war? Did we want to keep ignoring climate change? Did we want to repair our image in the world and work with allies? Did we want to remain a domestically divided red-and-blue war zone or come together as pragmatic Americans to reaffirm our commitment to the founding fathers promise? We were told that if we collectively answered these questions wrong, there would be blood in the streets – a second civil war started by the minority of Americans who were fed up with the inequality, unilateralism, bellicosity, and division of todays America. *** Charged with so monumental a task, Obama reached out admirably to the American people and asked them for guidance. What, he wanted to know, was the greatest public concern as America struggles on the precipice of extinction? **

Security Bungle Produces Folk Hero

Posted by Jack

AP – “Al-Zeidi’s act of defiance Sunday transformed an obscure reporter from a minor TV station into a national hero to many Iraqis fed up with the nearly six-year U.S. presence here, but also fearful that their country will fall under Iran’s influence once the Americans leave.

Several thousand people demonstrated in Baghdad and other cities to demand al-Zeidi’s release. The attack was the talk of the town in coffee shops, business offices and even schools and a subject across much of the Arab world. A charity run by the daughter of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi bestowed a medal of courage on al-Zeidi, calling on the Iraqi government to free him. ”

How could our security not have had a clue Al-Zeidi might pull something like this? His views on Bush and the American occupation were apparently widely known. Now this blunder has made a folk hero, not only in Iraq, but with many lefties in America who hate Bush almost as much as Al-Zeidi. Well, that’s just great; this really puts a capper on Bush’s final visit to Iraq. If anything will sum up what Bush has done over there, it’s probably going to be this shoe throwing event. It will live for all time as a supreme act of defiance…the guy is a hero and that’s it. We’ll probably be able to buy tee shirts with his picture on it at the Obama coronation.

“Al-Zeidi was held Monday in Iraqi custody for investigation and could face charges of insulting a foreign leader and the Iraqi prime minister, who was standing next to Bush. Conviction carries a sentence of up to two years in prison or a small fine although it’s unlikely he would face the maximum penalty given his newfound cult status in the Arab world. ”

State Can’t Find Half of it’s Vehicles

If you had any doubts about the state of California’s government’s need to reform, consider that out of the 70,000 cars, trucks and other vehicles the state owns, the responsible agency could only account for 40,000 of them. That means there may be no records or paper trail on 30,000 vehicles — or 43 percent — of the state’s fleet.

Monday Market Report

by Jack Lee

Monday’s stock market looks dull so far, but these days dull is a relief. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough of the whipsaw, whiplash stock gyrations! 400 pts up, 500 pts down…give me a break! Today by mid morning the DOW was down a mere 50 pts. I can live with that, it’s 500 pt swings that have our nerves in tatters!
