Soon the guessing and speculation will be over and America will experience change. We do it every couple of years in the Congress and every four to eight years in the Presidency. More than ever before, this year its important that we have some idea about the kind of change we support. My preference is change that is consistant with the Constitution and that supports all Americans in being the hero of their own stories. So I’ve been relentless this election season in my efforts to report that which has been ignored or dismissed as irrelevant.
I had vowed to back off a little in these last few days before the election, but alas, as I find articles that beg to be shared…well, I just have to share them with you. Some of you have expressed appreciation for my efforts, others, just wish Id go away. Since Im bound to disappoint or frustrate (or anger) some of you anyway, I figure…go for it!
The first article has a couple of quotes I think are important to ponder in this election:
* Soviet dictator Nikita Khrushchv said of Roosevelts New Deal paradigm shift, We cant expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism. *** Perennial Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas echoed that sentiment: The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. *** We are much closer to that day in 2008. *
Today Barack Obama said he was going to change America…on this point hes telling you the truth…listen to the man and consider carefully what he means.
The second offering is an article that is much more disturbing in nature. It involves the Treasury and Islamic banking practices. I encourage those who value this country and who consider this election to be much more than a popularity contest to read it in its entirety.
Treasury submits to Shariah, by Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. Washinton Times
* The U.S. Treasury Department is submitting to Shariah – the seditious religio-political-legal code authoritative Islam seeks to impose worldwide under a global theocracy. *** As reported in this space last week, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Robert Kimmitt set the stage with his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and other oil-rich Persian Gulf states. His stated purpose was to promote the recycling of petrodollars in the form of foreign investment here. *** Evidently, the price demanded by his hosts is that the U.S. government get with the Islamist financial program. While in Riyadh, Mr. Kimmitt announced: “The U.S. government is currently studying the salient features of Islamic banking to ascertain how far it could be useful in fighting the ongoing world economic crisis.” *** “Islamic banking” is a euphemism for a practice better known as “Shariah-Compliant Finance (SFC).” And it turns out that this week the Treasury will be taking officials from various federal agencies literally to school on SFC. *** The department is hosting a half-day course entitled “Islamic Finance 101” on Thursday at its headquarters building. Treasury’s self-described “seminar for the policy community” is co-sponsored with the leading academic promoters of Shariah and SCF in the United States: Harvard University Law School’s Project on Islamic Finance. At the very least, the U.S. government evidently hopes to emulate Harvard’s success in securing immense amounts of Wahhabi money in exchange for conforming to the Islamists’ agenda. Like Harvard, Treasury seems utterly disinterested in what Shariah actually is, and portends. *
