Volunteers Needed – Chico Air Museum

North_American_F-86_Sabre,_Chico,_California Would you be interested in learning about aviation history while you give a few hours of your time to help your local community?  Do you have good people skills and work well with families?  Are you honest and responsible?  If so, we’ve got a deal for you!

The Chico Air Museum needs four docents to start training almost immediately in preparation of the opening of our new and much larger air museum facility on Convair Drive at the Chico Municipal Airport.

Persons with prior military service is a plus, but not mandatory. Open to all ages 18 and up, it’s fun, you meet interesting people and it’s good for the community!

Docents will be assigned to work a short 4 hour shift, in the morning or the afternoon, your choice.   The Museum is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am until 4 pm (there are two shifts, morning and afternoon). It has an inside and outside display area. The new facility will have more ground for outside aircraft displays, a large hanger housing a number of rare airplanes, a sales room and many more aviation artifacts that could not be displayed at our previous location due to limited space.

PLEASE CONTACT:   The Chico Air Museum 345-6468, 9am -4 pm, Friday, Saturday or Sunday or call either 896- 1004 or 345-0757 or 828-7298 from 9 am until 6 pm on any other day.

Have something to donate?  Call us.  We are seeking military uniforms, old photos, weapons of any sort ( we deactivate them – tax deductable too!), collectable aircraft parts, and most any item related to WWI, WWII, Korean, Viet Nam, Gulf Wars and Afghanistan.  Also items related to the Chico airport 1941-45 are sought.
