Jihadi John Unmasked

LONDON — The Islamic State terrorist executioner with the British accent has been unmasked as a Kuwaiti-born Londoner by the name of Mohammed Emwazi,  who grew up in affluence but turned to Islamic militancy and barbarism.  While living in England he was contacted by a British agency who wanted him to work for them.   Exactly why they felt he could be trusted or what he could offer them was never disclosed, however he refused to cooperate and strongly resented what he felt was harassment because he was a Muslim.  He claimed this was his reason for leaving the UK.

The tall man who beheaded hostages in a series of Islamic State videos and earned the name “Jihadi John,” was identified by The Washington Post and other news organizations as Mohammed Emwazi, 26, who grew up in west London and was a devout Muslim.  All along British and U.S. authorities have said they knew the identity of “Jihadi John” but refused to make it public.

The British-based human rights group CAGE, which assists Muslim people who “claim” they are targeted by security officials, and his Muslim friends all said they believe the masked terrorist is Emwazi.

“There was an extremely strong resemblance,” Asim Qureshi, a research director at CAGE, told the Post. “This is making me feel fairly certain that this is the same person.”  So, was he harassed?  There is no evidence of that, but British intelligence admitted at one time they did try to recruit him.  Obviously, Emwazi was too far gone and instead he fled to join other Muslim zealots in the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria aka ISIS.
