Strange Company

Chavez1Posted by Tina

A few years back El Presidente of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, spoke at the United Nations and called the President of the United States of America “El Diablo.”

BoehnerA couple of weeks ago, former Speaker of the House, John Boehner chose to invoke the name of “Lucifer” at Stanford University to desparage and malign Ted Cruz.

What a strange reality we have in America today when a former house speaker mimics the antics of a cruel, anti-American communist dictator to smear a fellow American. What a stupid thing to do. It’s the kind of thing that can only be born of misplaced resentment. Whatever shred of dignity John Boehner may have still had as a former House Speaker, he’s completely relinquished.

The American people are fed up with politicians that will not stand by America. If you’re ever given a chance to speak again, sir, kindly bite your tongue, swallow your pride, and try to represent America with more dignity and grace.

This type of rhetoric has been growing for years. Michelle Bachmann was on a Christian radio show a while back openly speculating that Obama was the anti-Christ. A sizable number of Republicans apparently want our next president to be a guy who frequently calls his opponents pussies and brags about having a huge dick.

This can be stopped. But it might take some in the “personal responsibility” crowd to start showing some.

    • Tina says:

I agree it could be stopped, Chris, but there’s a problem, your party encourages and promotes the “no personal responsibility” crowd. They even pay some of them to protest. They make fun of morals and values and embrace factions that denounce a higher authority.

Your entreaty rings pretty hollow, even with examples of right wing potty mouth.

My objection to Boehner’s remarks go beyond potty mouth rhetoric.

      • dewster says:

The problem will continue as long as there is the ignorant conversation of my party – your party….. we all loose

So everyone has to be us and them?… this is exactly the stage that screams///// how they get away with this

        • Tina says:

There’s nothing “ignorant” about the wide differences in ideology that the two parties represent Dewey.

Socialism, the ideology favored by Democrats, is at odds with capitalism and self reliance.

How do you suggest we resolve these differences?

      • Chris says:

“They make fun of morals and values”

You’ve been saying this a lot lately, and I still don’t get it. This hasn’t been my experience at all–my experience with liberals is that they can be just as firm and uncompromising in their morals and values as conservatives are, but often operate under a different moral framework than conservatives. Heck, one of the biggest critiques of today’s liberals you hear is that we’re sanctimonious.

        • Tina says:

Being sanctimonious is just thinking your values are superior; nothing has changed.

Bill Clinton made fun of “family values” when he was running for office. It seemed to be a big joke among sanctimonious liberals of that period.

Some of the values being discussed at the time among those of us on the right had to do with giving kids a solid foundation in life: respect for authority, practicing the golden rule, learning the value of dedication and hard work, the basics of honesty and responsible living. I don’t get how these things can become the subject of ridicule, with the exception of rebellious adolescents. I would put Bill Clinton in that category.

I’m interested in this “framework” idea, though. Care to expound on our differences?

Too funny. You will see the Dupester and Crass chime in on trash talking foul language when it is a Republican acting like a boorish jerk, but when the left does they keep their fat yaps shut.

Boehner made a fool of himself and Cruz responded appropriately with class and style. It is quite clear who is the adult here. If Boehner did anything, it was to make Cruz look sympathetic and Boehner to look like an idiot. Boehner should leave the party, he behaves and votes like a Democrat.

By the way, the “sanctimonious” does not even begin to describe liberals or the sanctimonious, self-aggrandizing Chris who is always trotting out his left-wing Marxist moral superiority in these pages.

    • Chris says:

Pie, if you don’t like me being morally superior to you, you could always try behaving in a more moral manner.

      Just a suggestion.

      • Pie Guevara says:

HAH! Just the sort of pompous, self-aggrandizing statement I would expect from a sanctimonious left-wing worm.

Trotting it out again, no surprises there! I would say it is impossible for you to be any more of a ridiculous pissant, but your ego knows no bounds.

By the way Tina, good eye for the comparison of a tinpot clown to a tinhorn clown.
