Infratsructure: Trump Exposes Expensive Pointless Regulation

Posted by Tina

In a meeting last week on infrastructure planning President Trump dropped binders of regulations on the stage to make a point. The binders represented an environmental assessment report that cost taxpayers $24,000 per page and delayed projects by more than four years. Obama used such impact statements to indefinitely delay the Keystone Pipeline project. The Cape Wind offshore wind energy project has been delayed 16 years.

A study, “Two Years Not Ten Years: Redesigning Infrastructure Approvals, made by Common Good asserts:

Red tape is not the price of good government; it is the enemy of good government. Time is money: America could modernize its infrastructure, at half the cost, while dramatically enhancing environmental benefits, with a two-year approval process. Our analysis shows that a six-year delay in starting construction on public projects costs the nation over $3.7 trillion, including the costs of prolonged inefficiencies and unnecessary pollution. This is more than double the $1.7 trillion needed through the end of this decade to modernize America’s infrastructure.

I’m immediately reminded of the train to nowhere in California.

Those who’ve claimed the business experience Trump and his administration bring to government isn’t needed or wanted certainly don’t speak for this taxpaying citizen. In fact it’s quite evident that our government has moved well beyond being inefficient into the arenas of fraud and criminality to serve itself.

If ever there was a time for a good businessman to be serving in the White House it is now. As President Trump said in his remarks, there is no need for regulations to be this complex or for delays in completing projects. A few simply written pages would protect the environment, draw understandable parameters, and cost the taxpayers a lot less. It would also make it possible to get each job done in timely fashion. I imagine it would also take a lot of pressure off budgeting and the deficit spending that adds to our growing debt.

Off topic, but extremely interesting info on Comey . . . .

Might explain the real reason for Comey’s last July public listing all of $hrilLIARy’s shenanigans and no indictment. However if Comey suspected foul play, he had a requirement to go to Clowngress with it – and he didn’t.

As several people have asked today, why wasn’t Loretta Lynch in front of a Congressional hearing today instead of Sessions?

The leftist witch hunt is beginning to resemble the fifties…”are you now, or have you ever, associated with communists or been a member of a communist organization”…whose side ARE they on? And where, oh where, do they come up with this stuff? Well…maybe it’s all projection…

Daily Signal, “Ted Kennedy Made Secret Overtures to Russia to Prevent Ronald Reagan’s Re-Election”

Jerusalem Post, “Obama’s shocking interference into Israel’s election process”

Or a page straight out of the Alinsky playbook.

Whatever it is it DOES NOT serve the people.
