A Milestone in History

If Obama was given a Nobel Peace Prize for simply being a mixed race president, I wonder what Trump will get for finally holding face to face nuclear disarmament talks with North Korea? Apparently they could be very close to a signed agreement. Wow, that’s more progress than Obama made during his whole term in office.

“SINGAPORE (AP) — President Donald Trump proclaimed Tuesday that his momentous summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un had gone “better than anybody could have expected” and announced that the leaders planned a signing ceremony shortly. He offered no details on what was being signed.

Meeting with staged ceremony on a Singapore island, Trump and Kim concluded a summit that seemed just unthinkable months ago, clasping hands before a row of alternating U.S. and North Korean flags, holding a one-on-one meeting, additional talks with advisers and a working lunch.

After the lunch, Trump announced the signing ceremony but provided no details, saying only: “We’re going to be announcing that in a couple of minutes.”

The Nobel “Peace” prize lost a LOT of its luster when it was first awarded to Yasser Arafat and then again later to Obumble for doing absolutely nothing.
It remains to be seen if anything truly concrete will come from the Trump/Kim meeting.
And as expected, the Loonie Lefty media is having a huge case of “sour grapes.”
We’ll have to wait and see – just like we have in the past – yet those who suffer and need treatment from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) are out there braying as usual this morning.
    Consider the source.

“If Obama was given a Nobel Peace Prize for simply being a mixed race president, ….”

Was that the reason? I hadn’t heard. But then, I don’t hang out in the Racist Republic of Jefferson … the land of the “alternative fact”. Kelly Conway’s getting a footnote in history for that one … largely because it ain’t even literate, and soooooo embodies the entire Trump Administration.

The official reason: “for ‘his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples'”

He was awarded the prize before he has served a year in the oval office.

The Wall Street Journal reported in Oct of 2016:

Seven years ago this week the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the Peace Prize to Barack Obama. The decision was greeted with ridicule in the U.S., and it unsettled even supporters of the president, who hadn’t finished his first year in office. Still Mr. Obama flew to Oslo and delivered one of his trademark speeches. The philosopher-president was the toast of Europe.

Mr Obama today almost never mentions the prize, and the Nobel committee’s former secretary has expressed regret over the choice.

That’s what happens when you award someone a prize before they’ve done anything substantive…before they have proven themselves with more than pretty words.

Check out the Loonie Lefty medias’ love fest for Obama’d Iran deal.

“On the day President Obama announced the deal to the American people, the press were riding high. Just moments before the President addressed the nation on July 14, 2015, NBC’s Chris Jansing gushed: “This is a major victory for him, there is no doubt about that.” Later that night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow had this to say:

We don’t know if the Iran deal is going to work. If it does, it will be the major foreign policy achievement, not only of this presidency, but of this American generation. At which point, people in the not-too-distant future will look back at this presidency, they’ll look back at this President and they’ll say, “Of course they gave him the Nobel Peace Prize. Of course they did.”

Given that Barack Obama and Al Gore have been awarded Nobel Peace prizes it stands to reason that Kim Jong Un should be awarded the next one.

Or Lippy. She is just as worthy.
