Hmmm…Chuck Schumer Wants Big Bucks for NY Infrastructure

Posted by Tina

Chuck Schumer and Governor Cuomo want to do something about New York’s crumbling infrastructure. They want you and me to pay for it. The price tag, just for the Hudson Tunnel alone is estimated at $29 Billion. (Interesting number)

Schumer is a skunk. He’s not a negotiator, he’s a game player. He could make an infrastructure deal with the president that would satisfy both…but he won’t. His highest priority is denying the President a win.

The bipartisan spending on border security that he supported failed to have the desired effect in terms of security and border control but that’s good enough for him. The safety of New Yorkers is important now (for votes) but the safety of the American people, in particular those living along the southern border is not worth his time.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) has an idea which he has shared with the President: Tie his $25 Billion for the wall to Chucky’s infrastructure bill. Whatever budget Nancy and Chucky come up with, Schumer won’t get what he wants for infrastructure without giving Trump the wall.

The Conservative/Libertarian in me is against federal government involvement in state issues. But we left the wisdom of the founders behind long ago and it may be a long time, if ever, before it emerges once again in our nation, mores the pity. So if Mr. Schumer insists on playing games instead of making a deal I’m all in for his capitulation or defeat

See following story…and build that wall!

Think of the money that could have been spent on veterans! (Sorry, I had a Chris moment. Sometimes I too, sadly, am a complete ass.)

UpChuckie and the rest of the Rats are only against Trump’s wall because they hate him for beating the Evil Witch of The East.

    • Chris says:

Infrastructure is important, Pie. The wall will not work. You’re smart enough to know that, but you choose not to. It would be a big government boondoggle. You just happen to support this big government boondoggle because it uses big government against a group you disfavor. That’s all Trump’s conservativsm is: punishing enemies and owning libs. Sad to see you embrace it.

Walls work pretty well in Israel and the Vatican. . . .

        • Chris says:

That would be a very good point if those areas were anywhere near as big as the U.S.-Mexico border.

Since they are not, that is an incredibly stupid point.

Walls, walls, walls…countries around the world have chosen to build them.

            Get the skinny here.

Israel has 280 miles of wall on two border…but then Israel is a tiny country surrounded by enemies…can’t say I blame them.

India’s wall is 1700 miles long.

Our border is nearly 2000 miles long but it has some natural barriers. The president’s plan to build a wall where it’s needed is sound.

The US Border Patrol provides information on conditions along our southern border.

Walls do the job they are intended to do. Clearly there are areas along the border where walls are needed for security of our nation and the agents that have to patrol the area.

            Democrats are just being asses.

    UpChuckie. I love it!
And the current shutdown will be forever known as the Schumer Shutdown.
Hmmmmm – if it goes on long enough, maybe voters will start believing those of us who say the Fed payroll is way too big . . . . . . . .

      Ditto on the UpChuckie!

New York is doing the faux magnanimous” dance to keep Lady Liberty open.

Remember when they didn’t give a fig about the private sector businesses or tourists in Yellowstone Park or the WWII Memorial even though they inconvenienced tourists that had traveled miles to see it…some were WWII elderly veterans. Yep, the compassion of the Obama administration went on vacation while games were played.

Isn’t it time these public servants remembered who they work for. President Trump is the duly elected Leader with veto control. Send him a bill he’s willing to sign.

More news on the spending front. This bunch recently passed a Farm Bill. – $186 Billion!!! : The votes: Senate, 87-to-13 House, 369-to-47.

Trump praised Democrats…quite civil and gracious.

The bill included money for food stamps, despite the fact that the need for food stamps has declined with more people going back to work.

Republicans were not completely happy with the bill.

Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), one of two farmers in the Senate and a member of the Agriculture Committee, voted against the package over its expansion of federal subsidies to more-distant relatives of farmers, such as cousins, nephews and nieces. The final draft of the legislation also rejected a number of bipartisan reforms aimed at curbing subsidies for large U.S. agricultural interests.

“I’m very disappointed the conferees decided to expand the loopholes on farm subsidies,” Grassley said. “I’ve been trying to make sure the people who get the subsidies are real farmers. … I’ve been trying for three years, and it gets worse and worse and worse.”

      Here, here!

When Democrats say they want compromise, don’t believe it. Compromise to them is when Republicans give in and Democrats get everything they want. Such covert game playing is unconscionable in a so-called leader. It’s why Nancy didn’t like it that they were discussing the wall in front of the cameras!

  3. Peggy says:

What difference does it make if a 30 foot tall structure is called a fence you can see through or a wall you can’t? Both, plus a combination of other security devices will protect us, while not having them leaves us vulnerable.

Prisons have walls and fences to protect the good from the bad. And they have doors and gates that allow the good to enter and leave. Dems are making a huge mistake believing the average person isn’t smart enough to figure out why we need to be protected from those who are crossing our southern border to do us harm physically, economically and politically.

    Good read.

    The Schumer & Pelosi show:
    By Patricia McCarthy

“Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, the twin nutters of Congress, were certain they could beat Trump at his own game, but have made fools of themselves, as usual. The stand-off is not over but with each passing day, the Democrats reveal more of their anti-American, pro-illegal immigration agenda. Conservatives have been sounding the alarm for years: Democrats do not care about American citizens!

We are an annoying inconvenience, especially those of us who do not buy what they are selling. We vote against them, which makes them angry. They lash out at us, call us names, impugn our intelligence with fervor. All of the late-night comics, the Bill Mahers of the comedy branch of the entertainment industry, are especially venal. Jimmy Kimmel has decried those who have contributed to the GoFundMe page to fund the border wall as meth addicts. It was begun by a Vet, Brad Kolfage, who lost three limbs and it’s raised nearly $15m.

It appears that Democratic members of Congress are as snowflakey as millennials on our university campuses. They assume that anyone who opposes their ridiculous socialist, genderless, climate-alarmist, virtue-signaling directives is a Neanderthal, unfit to have an opinion. It is then thoroughly acceptable to malign such people, those of us who oppose every aspect of their anti-America-as-founded agenda, in any and every disgusting manner they can devise.

The left is all about identity politics. They assign all of us to a group — racial, class, and/or all of their fabricated gender categories. The right is all about individuals, their character, their talent, their contributions to society. We do not care about skin color, economic class or sexual orientation. We do care about good vs. evil, right vs. wrong. ”

“Democrats reveal more of their anti-American, pro-illegal immigration agenda.”

They are so very generous with other people’s money (our tax dollars) when it comes to non-Americans. They don;t give a crap about the illegal entry because they’re only interested in the bodies from socialist countries who are used to government programs (votes).

It offends me on both counts.

Explains Libby and Chris who are so hostile to the founding principles and our culture. Assimilation…nah, we don’t need it.

  4. Tina says:

In 2013 Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer argued in favor of stopping illegal immigration: “One of the most effective things we do on the border is turn people back…they get up to the border and we find them and say, ‘go home!’”
