Thank you for informing the public on this new, perpetual tax not to mention the tens of millions in new debt if it passes.

I encourage everyone to go to that site and read the flyer to see for themselves that this is a bad tax. Email the link or the flyer to everyone you know. If you can, print the flyer and pass it out and post it wherever you can.

The one thing I would add to what’s in that flyer is that this new tax and debt is not going to solve CARD’s unfunded liability problem. At best it will only kick the can down the road a few election cycles when CARD will want another tax increase and/or more debt and of course more fees.

And this applies to the City’s upcoming sales tax increase on the ballot in November. They will also take on massive new debt if that passes so again, not only will you get a tax increase but even more debt. And of course they do not solve their unfunded liability problem, just kick that can down the road.

When do we say no to this nonsense? Do we let them tax us to death and drown us in more debt? People, don’t let them do this!

This is from a must read article that describes what is going on

Local governments and school districts always tout these measures as necessary expenditures to rebuild crumbling schools, maintain overused parks and provide better police services, but don’t be fooled. Every new local tax these days is, essentially, a pension tax. These governments write the ballot summaries and provide “voter information,” so they are able to sway the discussion away from the true causes of their fiscal peril.

Sorry, that should be perpetually increasing tax as it automatically goes up every year.

No thanks needed, (but I appreciate it) this is why I am here! Unless people wake up to how we’re governed at the city level, there will be chance to fix it at the State level.
