Black Lives Matters Makes an Offer few Businesses Can Refuse

Posted by Jack

From the Washington Sentinel – A Black Lives Matter group has begun threatening local businesses in Louisville, Kentucky, and telling them if they don’t give protection money, their shops will be looted.  Just like the Mafia, these BLM terrorists have now moved to extortion.   (This is supposed to be where the FBI enters the case and starts indicting mobsters for racketeering. )

One business owner has had enough and is speaking up. Fernando Martinez owns several Mexican-style restaurants in the area, and he said he is shocked by the Mafioso tactics now being perpetrated by the Black Lives Matter terrorists in the city.

“There comes a time in life that you have to make a stand and you have to really prove your convictions and what you believe in,” Martinez wrote in a Facebook post reported by the Courier-Journal. “… All good people need to denounce this. How can you justified [sic] injustice with more injustice?”

As soon as Martinez made his feelings on the matter public, BLM terrorists surrounded his business and began harassing him and his customers.

The BLM terrorists have been telling businesses that they will be targeted for looting and destruction unless certain demands are made.

Some of those demands include:

  • Adequately represent the Black population of Louisville by having a minimum of 23% Black staff;
  • Purchase a minimum of 23% inventory from Black retailers or make a recurring monthly donation of 1.5% of net sales to a local Black nonprofit or organization;
  • Require diversity and inclusion training for all staff members on a bi-annual basis;
  • And display a visible sign that increases awareness and shows support for the reparations movement

So, what happened to Matinez’s restaurant?

BLM threatened the employees so badly that they refused to come to work because they feared for their lives. His restaurant was vandalized. And he had to shut it down in the face of the daily attacks.

How is Black Lives Matter any different from any other criminal gang?

(What would you do if it was your business that BLM threatened.  Would you pay the protection money or risk your business being destroyed? )

Open fire. Seriously. These animals will not stop until they ARE stopped.

    • Chris says:

Unfortunately if RHT does decide to “open fire,” he won’t be the first to go on a shooting spree because of some fake news he saw on the Internet.

I just hope the rest of you won’t pretend to be surprised when it happens.

      • Post Scripts says:

Chris are you saying the news about about KY businesses being threatened by BLM is fake???? Are you saying all the stories about BLM fomenting violence, using extortion, engaging in hate speech are all just fake news????

        • Chris says:

I made it very clear what I am saying. The list of demands is real, as demonstrated in the real news source that you linked to, but the claim that BLM has threatened to loot this business if their demands are not met was added by the Washington Sentinel, a known source of fake news. No article in any legitimate news source has mentioned such a threat. I didn’t say anything about “all the stories about” BLM going too far, I addressed this specific story. You are moving from this specific story to generalities because you can’t defend the claims made by the Sentinel.

Jack asked: Chris, read this again and tell me which part is false…”Members of Louisville’s Cuban community plan to gather Sunday in support of a NuLu restaurant owner who says he was threatened by Black Lives Matter protesters during a recent demonstration.

Fernando Martinez, a partner of the Olé Restaurant Group, was one of dozens of business owners in the downtown Louisville district who recently received a letter from protesters laying out demands that aim to improve diversity in the area, which is known for its locally-owned shops and restaurants.

Martinez has publicly denounced the demands on Facebook, calling them “mafia tactics” used to intimidate business owners. And on Thursday, a small group of protesters confronted him outside his newest restaurant, La Bodeguita de Mima, on East Market Street.

“There comes a time in life that you have to make a stand and you have to really prove your convictions and what you believe in,” Martinez wrote in his Facebook post. “… All good people need to denounce this. How can you justified (sic) injustice with more injustice?”

We call that, a good old fashioned extortion racket – and our country fought for years to get rid of the mobs strangle hold on various communities in America.”

None of this is false. I never said any of it was false.

I said the claim that Black Lives Matter threatened to “loot” businesses if they didn’t get “protection money” appears to be false. It appears nowhere in the text Jack quotes above, nor was it reported by any legitimate news source. It appears to have been made up by the Washington Sentinel, a purveyor of fake news as demonstrated in the Media Bias Fact Check link I posted earlier.

I think the examples of bigotry, lies, inciting to riot, associations with known racist provocateur’s and a hidden socialist agenda of BLM, is more than enough for any rational human being to shun them and give them no credibility at the very least, even though I think active opposition is really more appropriate.

  2. Chris says:

Nowhere in the Courier-Journal article does it make any mention of any “looting” threat.

I tracked down the Washington Sentinel article which cites the Courier-Journal as well. It does not cite any evidence of any such looting threat; the Washinton Sentinel seems to have made this part of the story up out of whole cloth, as it has before:

    Failed Fact Checks

“A Muslim group in Minneapolis said that it intends to begin patrolling the streets with a dangerous, violent Sharia patrol force once the city eliminates its police department.” – False
Donations to Black Lives Matter go straight to the Democratic Party – False
“MSNBC actually said on air ‘I hope enough people die from coronavirus that it harms Trump’s re-election.’” – False
Overall, we rate The Washington Sentinel Questionable based on the use of poor sources, promotion of one-sided propaganda, a lack of transparency, and several failed fact checks. (D. Van Zandt 10/4/2019) Updated (6/30/2020)

    OMG!!!

In America “demands” are decided through a process. We respect that process when we don’t get our wast through PEACEFUL protest. We do not organize mobs that swarm in the streets destroying property and stomping all over the rights of others. We do not imagine we have the right to threaten fellow Americans in any way.

Your party of choice is supporting the mob and encouraging this horrid behavior and the only thing that gets your dander up is whether or not one aspect of a story has been covered by the media?

The violence and death, the destruction of property, the disrespect for the law and the rights of others doesn’t seem to be a problem to you. WTF, Chris!?!

      I agree.

No. What “got my dander up” is that the “aspect of the story” that I took issue with–the claim that there was a threat to loot this instance–is not real. It was made up by a fake news website.

The violence and death, the destruction of property, the disrespect for the law and the rights of others doesn’t seem to be a problem to you. WTF, Chris!?!

Of course it bothers me. It bothers me when the police engage in this conduct, and it bothers me when protesters engage in this conduct. I have focused on such conduct from the police rather than protesters because the police are accountable to me in ways the protesters are not.

The violence and death, the destruction of property, the disrespect for the law and the rights of others doesn’t seem to be a problem to you. WTF, Chris!?!

      • Tina says:

The perpetrators of violence and destruction are accountable to you through the Legal system under our rule of law but members of your party, including people in positions of power locally, are telling officers of the law to stand down instead of supporting them in doing their jobs. They go even further issuing statements of support of the chaos and violence and against sworn officers of the law. They politicize they issue, their citizens be damned!!
The persons responsible in the death that started this are being brought to justice…the death is an excuse, an incident being exploited for politics.

Businesses have been burned and looted, people fear for their lives, there is no justification for any of it. Pull your head out please. Is this really the kind of country you want to live in…one where justice is decided through threats and intimidation? Well I don’t. What the hell do you think the demand to get rid of the police is about if not tyranny?

My God, have you lost your mind?

        • Chris says:

Please cite the statement by any politician supporting “chaos and violence.”

        • Lonestar says:

Lost his mind mind, may jes have.

Ms. Tina your comment bout’ “The persons responsible in the death that started this are being brought to justice…the death is an excuse, an incident being exploited for politics.”

Yer Sure nuff on target with that, and is all that’s a needed right now.

All this here BLM and other stuff going on is jes two different buckets o’possums.

That should put a lid on this talkin’ bout who’s what or not, but seems yer Chris type is a arguing, jes to ague.

Folks here can’t see any other point to it, sep this here Chris is siding up to a hog trough and swallows what he can that suits his taste, and spits out contempt fer what he don’t like.

Just because a chicken has wings don’t mean it can fly, yer Chris person would do well to understand that, cause his arguing at this point is bout as full of wind as a corn-eating horse.

Y’all stay safe, cause it is a worry sum world out there today.
