Illegals Get Bailout Money

by Jack Lee

In the news today, it was reported that an estimated 300,000 illegal workers will receive bailout money. Most of that money will then be sent to Mexico. There is no provision in the bailout to encourage employers to check the legal status of workers.

In other areas of the news today, President Obama applauded his Democrat colleagues for being so honest and forthright in this time of grave economic crisis by keeping the Stimulous bill completely “pork free”. The President hailed this as a great victory for the people! Independant research has detected over 9000 examples of pork spending.

For Their Happiness?

KS97633.jpegPosted by Tina

“That [tyrannical government] power is absolute, minute, regular, provident and mild. It would be like the authority of a parent if, like that authority, its object was to prepare men for manhood; but it seeks, on the contrary, to keep them in perpetual childhood: it is well content that the people should rejoice, provided they think of nothing but rejoicing. For their happiness such a government willingly labors, but it chooses to be the sole agent and the only arbiter of that happiness; it provides for their security, foresees and supplies their necessities, facilitates their pleasures, manages their principal concerns, directs their industry, regulates the descent of property, and subdivides their inheritances: what remains, but to spare them all the care of thinking and all the trouble of living?” –French historian Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859)

Healthcare Solutions That Work?

The president held a summit last week, the White House Health Care Summit, where he decalred, It’s conceivable that there are other ideas out there that we have not thought of. But Philip Klein of the American Spectator has an observation that illustrates the fecklessness of the presidents remark:

Ostracized by Obama, by Philip Klein The American Spectator

** President Obama has used events such as community discussion groups and last week’s summit to foster the impression that he is soliciting opinions from all angles of the health care debate, but the reality is a lot different. Obscured by the Administration’s theatrics is the fact that it has kept at bay those who advocate free-market solutions rather than government-run health care. **

Nobody Home

Posted by Tina

** Last week, it was all smiles and handshakes as Gordon Brown and President Barack Obama put on a show of unity in Washington. But yesterday, Sir Gus O’Donnell, Britain’s most senior civil servant, exposed transatlantic tension when he protested that Downing Street was finding it “unbelievably difficult” to plan for next month’s G20 summit in London because of problems tracking down senior figures in the US administration. “There is nobody there. Former Gitmo Guy Top Taliban Commander

** The Taliban’s new top operations officer in southern Afghanistan had been a prisoner at the Guantanamo Bay detention center, the latest example of a freed detainee who took a militant leadership role and a potential complication for the Obama administration’s efforts to close the prison. Abdullah Ghulam Rasoul, formerly Guantanamo prisoner No. 008, was among 13 Afghan prisoners released to the Afghan government in December 2007. Rasoul is now known as Mullah Abdullah Zakir… AP **

Mexican Drug Cartels Invading USA

by Jack Lee

Violence in Mexico is spreading into US and Atlanta has been declared the key distribution point for one of Mexico’s largest drug cartels, says Dept. of Justice. However, Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano, is still playing this down, as if the violence and drug trade remain within Mexico’s borders. I wondered why and so I went looking for answers.

Sources close to Napolitano said Mexico’s President Calderon has requested President Obama’s Administration to not say anything publically that could be construed as encouraging for the Mexican drug cartels. The State Department and CIA have previously said Calderons government is hanging by a thread an unless they can start showing their suppression efforts are succeeding there is little chance he will finish out his term. A cautious tourist advisory now exists for travel to Mexico.

Mugger Shot 6 Times by Texas Woman

A woman was called in front of a Texas grand jury for manslaughter after she shot a mugger 6 times in the back as he was running away with her purse.

He grabbed the purse and ran, she had her hand on the gun in it, and was left with the revolver in her hand.

When asked by the grand jury why she shot the man 6 times in the back as he was running away, she replied under oath:

“Because when I pulled the trigger the 7th time it only went click”

She was acquitted on all charges!

Policy Based on “Sound Science”

by Tina Grazier

This morning the president lifted the ban on embrionic stem cell research and in his remarks he assured the nation that policy would be made based on “sound science”. My eyebrows immediately shot up! Did President Obama actually say “sound science?” Why yes…he did! But what does the president mean? Does he mean “an act, effort, or operation designed to establish or discover a fact or truth (Websters)? Does he mean ” subjection to tests and trials, in general to specific, planned, and regular tests calculated to reveal any deficiencies (Websters)? Or does he mean that as long as a “concensus” can be built he will base his policies on that?

Hmmm…we know how that’s working out with respect to global warming. If we follow the pattern we might expect to see “adult stem cell research” demonized in the future. We might even see policy to undermine or destroy other, competing research. We could see an embrionic guru come forth; a person of prominence who will show us a fantastic movie to convince us that without this research we will all run the risk of devistating consequence. We will likely see embrionic exchange banks and trade schemes. The UN will absolutely need to become involved…our survival depends on it and universal taxes will definitely be required. International courts will be established so that anyone opposing the destruction of embrios can be tried as criminal “deniers”. The possibilities are endless…get out the colored markers…it’s time to start stocking up on pro-destruction posters so we’ll be ready for the rally!

Government doesn’t need to be in the business of funding research. Private sector funding would follow whatever path shows the most promise for breakthroughs and progress and that actually does rely on “sound science.

Ready to Homeschool?

Posted by Tina

Hey…it could happen:

** PONTIAC — Nearly 500 teachers in the Pontiac Public School District are reeling as they prepare for layoff notices to all employees next week as the struggling system tries to erase a deficit. The teachers are among the district’s 622 union employees — including secretaries, paraprofessionals, maintenance workers and engineers — who could be laid off and rehired if needed next school year under a plan proposed by Interim Superintendent Linda Paramore… The Detroit News **

If we don’t get some real stimulus going soon revenues will dry up and home schooling could become the order of the day…might be the best thing that ever happened for some kids…unemployed parents will have plenty of time…yep…who needs capitalism?
