Socialism Causes Workers to Riot in France

by Jack

The growth of socialism has come to the end of the road in France. The socialists have taxed the middle class right into poverty and the people have had enough. The average working person must ask themselves, what meal do I skip today?  They ponder how many days they can hold out until the next payday?   A cement truck operator, Paul Aufrere said, “What’s happening right now is a citizen uprising.”

People have reached the breaking point because of high taxes and the gross inefficiency of a bloated bureaucracy. When the government tried to raise money through another gas tax, that caused many frustrated workers to take to the streets in protest. Gasoline costs about $8.00 a gallon and the French refused to pay once penny more!

In small rural towns you will see abandoned cars collecting in railway stations because their former owners can no longer afford to maintain them.

The government run utilities charge astronomical prices and that’s forced families to heat with wood and for cooking. Dining out is a luxury few can afford. Just going to the theater or going on a family road trip is out of the question for most. So, when a new gas tax was proposed people reacted in protest. It began in the poorest districts first and spread quickly. The movement is almost completely outside the bounds of politics. Mainly because they don’t trust politicians, no matter what brand they may be.

Socialized medicine and too many safety nets have bankrupted the nation. For years politicians were elected on promises of providing free things, ostensibly paid for on the backs of the rich. It worked for a time, but now the rich are too few and the money has run out. The so-called “free entitlements” turned out to be the ruin of a nation. Now enter the people…. in yellow vests, standing in protest at the roundabout or marching around the Arche de Triumph.1    They don’t like to go hungry anymore than the mobs of 1789 that marked the beginning of the French Revolution.

The government has declared they will not give in to the protesters, although the gasoline tax has already been rescinded.

  1. They are called the yellow vest protestors because they wear the yellow safety vest carried in all vehicles.

And their socialized medicine is failing so they are starting to charge people deductibles, co-insurance, etc. and selling supplemental insurance policies but it’s still socialized medicine. They are just finding another way to charge more for it outside direct taxation. And when that fails you can bet they will blame the free market which is a laugh because it doesn’t exist.

Guess what your Commiefornia DemoNRat overlords have in store for your healthcare? Their beloved single payer and when it gets rammed down your throat you won’t have a single prayer!

I heard Macrony was going to halt the fuel tax increases for 90 days and then I heard he caved in completely and will get rid of them. And ironically, those tax increase were nearly exactly as much as the Commiefornia DemoNRats increased our state gas and diesel taxes last year except Macrony didn’t have the nerve to add automatic yearly increase like our beloved DemoNRats did.

You saw how the French reacted to those fuel tax increases.

How did the people of Commiefornia react to the fuel tax increases of the beloved DemoNRats?

I will tell you. They laid down like whipped dogs which is exactly how their DemoNRat overlords view them. Hell, the people of Commiefornia wouldn’t even vote to repeal! Pathetic!

No, a gas tax in France caused riots. Those Frenchies are not as civilized as they like to pretend. “Tax cuts for the wealthy and a gas tax for me?” … sound familiar? … and they hit the streets … not the polls.

And that’s what’s gryping you, Jack. The majority of your fellow citizens see it clear: “this shit’s got to be paid for.” But some adjustment will have to be made because, as usual, the impoverished Kia driver is paying more tax than those Tesla drivers … which is not right, and certainly not kind.

“…the impoverished Kia driver is paying more tax than those Tesla drivers”

I’m not sure your remarks target the wealthy French or wealthy Americans. No matter, yours is the typical progressive talking point.

PRI, “For France’s yellow vest protesters, ‘gas tax is the tip of the iceberg'”

If France’s proposed gas tax had gone through, Romaric Giacomino would have been faced with more than 400 euros in additional gas taxes each month. That’s part of what spurred the Marseille schoolteacher to organize the “yellow vest” protests that rocked France this weekend. … “The complaint by the yellow jackets isn’t the gas tax. It’s that there are too many taxes. The gas tax is the tip of the iceberg.

They’ve done it to themselves by voting for socialist redistribution programs they’ve become slaves to the state.

As for America, we are diving into the same pool because of people like you. You’re too stupid to get how money invested creates opportunity for the poor to climb the ladder out of poverty…you’re ultimately cutting the throats of every American.

        CATO:

Democrats…claim that the 2017 (tax) act was a giveaway to the rich, even though it made the tax code more progressive. And they claim that the rich don’t pay their fair share, even though the top 10 percent pay 71 percent of all federal income taxes.

Democrats complain that the rich are rampant tax avoiders. But then they push to raise tax rates on the rich, which will just prompt more of the avoidance they dislike. You can see this at the state level with the ongoing exodus of high earners from high-tax states such as California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York to low-tax states such as Florida.

When the wealth builders keep more of what they earn and generate the lower classes benefit from the investments they make into the economy.

MarketWatch, “More than 44% of Americans pay no federal income tax”:

Wage growth has risen to a 9-year high. Unemployment remains at an 18-year low. Jobless claims haven’t been this low since 1969. And nearly half of Americans don’t owe a dime of federal income tax.

Approximately 76.4 million or 44.4% of Americans won’t pay any federal income tax in 2018, up from 72.6 million people or 43.2% in 2016 before President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, according to data released Thursday by the Tax Policy Center, a nonprofit joint venture by the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution, which are both Washington, D.C.-based think tanks. That’s below the 50% peak during the Great Recession. They still obviously pay sales tax, property taxes and other taxes.

Your KIA driver probably pays no income tax at all OR pays no income tax and is also subsidized through the EITC program.

He also pays no investment taxes. (Your SS and MCARE taxes take a big chunk out of his pay whether he can afford it this month or not…don’t see you grousing about that!!

Often your KIA driver is a renter…but if he’s fortunate enough to own a home, his tax burden on a 1200 -2500 sq ft home is a lot lower than the tax burden on those 5000 sq ft plus estates of the wealthy…by a bunch!!!

The registration tax on his KIA is lower than the tax on the Tesla as well.

Life just isn’t fair or even handed, Libby!

Face it! You don’t believe in property rights. You’d like to put a cap on what citizens can earn…the rest goes to the state for redistribution. Deep down you believe all money should belong to the government and we citizens should be work slaves for the glorious state. All such systems manage to get by or become real hell holes like Venezuela.

I guess your referring to recent everyone pays in the state of Calif for the new Gas “FEE” (never a Democratic Tax) when you say ,“this shit’s got to be paid for” piling up on the open toilet streets of your San Fran-cess-co.

Both of which are neither “right, and certainly not kind”, just more liberal S#!t Calif has to deal with as well.

“They are called the yellow vest protestors because they wear the yellow safety vest carried in all vehicles.”

Yes, it was a law of the socialist nanny state that you must carry a yellow vest in the vehicle at all times…oh, the irony…

“But I can’t help but see the irony of the ‘Yellow-Vest’. You see in France you have to carry one in your vehicle or the local government overlords can cite you with a ticket (just another tax). So the government, circulated by decree, the very tool used to rally the people to stand up and fight back from government taxes.”

  3. Joe says:

“The growth of socialism has come to the end of the road in France.”

Oh come on, Captain Jack. I’m sure the millions of illiterate migrants they’ve imported who are on welfare will fix it right up for them and make socialism sing! It’ll be a smashing success, no doubt. And if you don’t believe me…well, you’re just a racist. And Libby will back me up on that one! (But you may have to wait a few days as Libby is attending to all the migrants she’s housing. After all, her generosity knows no bounds…a Mother Teresa, that one I tell you.) 🙂

  4. Joe says:

“They don’t like to go hungry anymore than the mobs of 1789 that marked the beginning of the French Revolution.”

I’m sure Libby and Chris and all the other wonderful, generous (with other people’s money) progressives will echo the “Let eat cake” sentiment of Marie Antoinette.
