  1. Pie Guevara says:

You can tell when Trump is about to speak. They play Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

  2. Chris says:

Another one? My god. Must he always be in campaign mode? Can’t he just once try to be a president serving all Americans?

  3. Post Scripts says:

Pie here: I am watching both the Fox News and PBSNewsHour streams of the Trump rally. I like the PBS YouTube feed because it shows various and sundry shots of the people attending.

  4. Peggy says:

I looked up the article he referred to at the very beginning. The whistleblower’s attorney sure loves to Tweet. He just screwed his client, Schiff, Pelosi and the whole DNC. Trump 2020!!

    Here it is.

‘Coup has started,’ whistleblower’s attorney said in 2017 posts calling for impeachment:

“Mark Zaid, one of the attorneys representing the intelligence community whistleblower at the center of the Democrats’ ongoing impeachment inquiry, tweeted conspicuously in January 2017 that a “coup has started” and that “impeachment will follow ultimately.”

Then, in July 2017, Zaid remarked, “I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president.” Also that month, Zaid tweeted, “We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters.”

Amid a slew of impeachment-related posts, Zaid assured his Twitter followers that “as one falls, two more will take their place,” apparently referring to Trump administration employees who defy the White House. Zaid promised that the “coup” would occur in “many steps.”

The tweets, which came shortly after President Trump fired then-acting Attorney General Sally Yates for failing to defend federal laws in court, are likely to fuel Republican concerns that the anonymous whistleblower’s complaint is tainted with partisanship. Trump’s call with Ukraine’s leader, which is the subject of the complaint, occurred in July 2019.

“The whistleblower’s lawyer gave away the game,” the Trump campaign’s communications director, Tim Murtaugh, told Fox News. “It was always the Democrats’ plan to stage a coup and impeach President Trump and all they ever needed was the right scheme. They whiffed on Mueller so now they’ve settled on the perfectly fine Ukraine phone call. This proves this was orchestrated from the beginning.”

    • Chris says:

Jesus, an impeachment is not a “coup,” even if a lawyer for a whistleblower calls it a coup. Impeachment is explicitly mentioned in the constitution, and the House is following the process outlined. Calling it a “coup” is hysterical and ridiculous.

Your obsession with the whistleblower, whose central claims have now been confirmed by multiple witnesses, remains bizarre. As David French points out, “At this point the whistleblower could be Hunter Biden himself and it wouldn’t change one syllable of the “transcript” nor would it change one syllable of sworn testimony establishing the president’s demand that an ally investigate a conspiracy theory and a political opponent.”

Bill Kristol makes a similar point:

“I’m struck by Trumpworld’s obsession with the whistleblower. Exposing him wouldn’t help Trump’s case a bit. But it’s clear that outing him would be really satisfying psychologically to Trumpsters. One forgets how central to Trumpism are petty vindictiveness and cowardly bullying.”

Anyone watching the Trump rally right now knows this is true. They just enjoy the petty vindictiveness and cowardly bullying so much that they feel no shame in celebrating it.

  5. Peggy says:

God I love John Kennedy!!! “Must suck to be that dumb!” LOLOLOL

  7. Post Scripts says:

Pie here: HAH! The Duck Dynasty guy comes to the podium. Have you ever seen anything like this in politics?

  8. Post Scripts says:

Pie here: “America is no longer for sale.” Crowd cheers.

  9. Chris says:

    Bi-weekly rallies call for bi-weekly fact-checks:

Trump bashes the media. “The CNN light is gonna go off,” he says. CNN’s cameras at these rallies do not have any visible lights turned on, I am told, and we don’t turn off any streams when he bashes us…

Trump says the whistleblower’s source probably does not exist, which makes no sense. He is saying false/misleading/bizarre things in rapid succession, faster than I can type…

Trump is doing his usual fiction about how Adam Schiff only made his comments at committee because “he never thought that I was going to release the conversation,” but then Trump surprised him. Schiff spoke the day after Trump released the rough transcript…

Trump takes credit for the big Cameron LNG facility approved during the Obama administration: “They couldn’t get their permits for years, I got ’em real fast…I said ‘let’s go get them that permit’…for years and years they tried to get those permits, they couldn’t get ’em…”

Trump says tariffs are producing “billions and billions of dollars from a country that never gave us 10 cents, China.”

This is false in two ways. 1) Americans are paying the tariffs. 2) Even if China were paying, the US has long taken in billions per year from tariffs on China.

But who cares whether the things Trump says at these rallies are, you know, true. Such energy!

    • Post Scripts says:

Pie here: Oh yeah, the camera lights are such a huge deal. There are big lies and little lies. When Trump is not completely truthful it is a big deal to Mr. Souza. When Democrats lie, it is “well, all politicians lie.” Ho hum. The transcripts of the phone call pretty much show what went on. The impeachment hearings are a complete farce but a farce I sincerely love. Next week the show trial kangaroo court goes public for all to see with people re-testifying and no allowance for counter testimony and questioning from Republicans unless approved by Schiff. Gee, makes you wonder why the Democrats made it secret to begin with. My prediction is that come next November they will be hoisted by their own petard even if Trump is formally impeached by the House Democrats. And the Biden corruption issue is not going away and will probably escalate. Obama administration State Department documents indicate that Biden is lying when he claims he did not know his son was employed by Burisma.

      • Chris says:

[Pie here: More crap from the psychic Souza who is, evidently, unhappy.]

Pie here: Oh yeah, the camera lights are such a huge deal.

They aren’t. Which is why it’s super weird that he feels the need to lie about them. But the president is nothing if not super weird.

There are big lies and little lies.

And Trump tells both, as you know. The Schiff lie was a big one. The lie about tariffs was a big one. Taking credit for an Obama accomplishment was a big one. He lies about thousands Muslims cheering 9/11 in NJ, Obama’s birth certificate, having no business dealings in Russia, etc., are big ones.

When Trump is not completely truthful it is a big deal to Mr. Souza.

If only it was a big deal to you.

When Democrats lie, it is “well, all politicians lie.” Ho hum.

No, the problem is that Trump lies more than almost all other politicians, both Dems and Republicans, and this is well documented and irrefutable, which is why you can’t refute it.

The transcripts of the phone call pretty much show what went on.

They aren’t transcripts, as the documents clearly state, but they do show what went on: the president leveraged congressionally approved aid in exchange for a political ask, and illegally delayed such aid. Four separate witnesses have confirmed this was a quid pro quo, even one that initially testified the opposite, and none were the whistleblower.

And the Biden corruption issue is not going away and will probably escalate. Obama administration State Department documents indicate that Biden is lying when he claims he did not know his son was employed by Burisma.

Biden has never claimed that he did not know his son was employed by Burisma. You made that up. He did claim they never talked about it, which may or may not be true, but is irrelevant to the charge that he threatened Ukraine to fire a prosecutor, since that threat was backed up by the entire Western alliance, and Joe was just the messenger. Should he have been that messenger? No, which he has already admitted. There is no way to escalate this without ignoring basic facts, which is why you keep ignoring them.

  10. Post Scripts says:

Pie here: Well, the live Post Scripts comment thing is another flop. Thanks to those that did show up but I was hoping to hear from a lot more Post Scripts readers. No matter. It wasn;t that great of an idea to begin with.

    • Chris says:

Can I ask what kind of response you’re hoping to get from these things? 28 replies in an hour is nothing to scoff at, especially on a locally run blog like this. Granted, a lot of that was just the two of us, but you also got two other commenters around. This blog doesn’t usually do any kind of live updating, so I for one am surprised at this level of engagement. I think these were more successful than I expected.

      See, I can be positive!

  11. Chris says:

    I stand corrected.

    • Post Scripts says:

Pie here: Give me one good reason I should bother to waste my time answering your comment posts much less not simply send them to the trash bin.

      • Chris says:

        [Pie here: Two bad reasons]

Reason one: I admitted an error. You were right that Biden claimed he didn’t know about Hunter’s involvement with Burisma, which is implausible. This type of ridiculous statement is one reason he will never be my choice for nominee. Reason 2: I’m the main reason your Trump Rally Live posts get engagement.

  12. Chris says:

Trump Ordered to Pay $2 million for misusing his charitable foundation.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/07/nyregion/trump-charities-new-york.html

But it’s insane to believe he would abuse his power as president, or put his own wants ahead of the good of the country!

    • Post Scripts says:

In a statement signed by Trump’s attorney, the president admitted to poor oversight of the charity. The Trump Foundation has distributed nearly $20 million to hundreds of worthwhile charities with little to no expenses. More than $9 million came directly from President Trump.

      • Peggy says:

Looks like Trump’s charity was a lot more charitable percentage wise than Clinton’s. CGI is now shutdown from lack of donations, I believe. Like millions from other countries.

        https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/09/behind_that_four_stars_rating_for_the_clinton_foundation_from_charity_navigator.html

Hum? Don’t remember hearing anything about this. Maybe we will soon with the investigations going on by the DoJ.

“The investigators said Clinton Foundation CFO Andrew Kessel admitted to them in a taped conversation that Bill Clinton used the foundation’s bank accounts for personal expenses.

the Clinton Foundation was working on behalf of foreign governments even though the foundation’s stated mission in IRS filings at the time was to build Bill Clinton’s presidential library.

“The foundation began working as an agent of a foreign government early in its life and continued” to do so, said Moynihan.”

Oversight panel hearing on Clinton Foundation blows up:

“A congressional hearing on the Clinton Foundation turned into a fiasco on Thursday after Republicans clashed with their own witnesses — two private investigators who refused to turn over documents that they claimed showed evidence of criminal wrongdoing at the Clinton Foundation.

John Moynihan and Larry Doyle, financial analysts who say they have uncovered evidence of pay-to-play and financial crimes at the Clinton Foundation, were invited to testify on their findings by the House Oversight Committee’s Republican Chairman Mark Meadows.

But tensions erupted between Meadows and the two witnesses after Moynihan and Doyle refused to turn over 6,000 pages of documents that they say back up their claims — documents that the pair has already given to the FBI and the IRS.

“If you’re not going to share [the documents] with the committee and cut to the chase, my patience is running out,” said Meadows. After consulting briefly with their attorney, who was present, Moynihan and Doyle said they still would not turn over their report but would answer questions about it.”
