Clear Pattern of Leftist Hate and Violence

Note:   The following article is about free speech and violence.  It’s a rough subject, but I’m hoping you wait until the end to judge it.   Then I would like to hear your thoughts.

by Jack

There is such a clear, consistent, and growing pattern of hate and violence coming from the left that it is undeniable.  It is totally unmatched by anything in our history, short of the Civil War in 1861.

This wide-spread, reprehensible conduct by the far left is so dramatically destructive that it is completely and utterly indefensible.   Liberals may try… calling their acts as self-defense and their expression of free speech.  A sort of  tit for tat, but their moral equivalency argument falls woefully short of the reality we are witnessing.

It’s around-the-clock hate speech.  Hate the right, oust Trump, use any means necessary, kick them (conservative supporters) out of restaurants, gas stations and wherever you find them; this is the new leftist mantra.

Many radical leaders are pointedly calling for violence!  They are no longer trying to hide their hate behind political sarcasm or mockery.  This is full on in your face hate.

It’s coming from the late night talk shows, Hollywood celebs,  in our colleges, from democrat legislators and more.  The left has become so unhinged they would be laughable, if they were not so dangerous.

The rise of the Neo Brown Shirts: Antifa protestors clad in masks shut down college campuses, destroy property and indiscriminately attack those they disagree with, whether women or the elderly. Meanwhile, CNN fires Kathy Griffin for taking photos with a bloody replica of the president’s decapitated head.

Amid this backdrop, The Huffington Post ran an article calling for the execution of Trump and “everyone assisting his agenda. “…Jason Fuller’s piece contained rhetoric and imagery that seems tasteless, particularly after Wednesday’s events. Fuller boldly declares in the title that “Trump must be prosecuted — if convicted in a court of law — executed.” Fuller doesn’t stop there, however, as he insists that “impeachment isn’t enough” to “drain the swamp,” and to do so means doling out the “ultimate punishment [execution]” in order to fully restore the moral compass of the U.S.

Fuller’s “ultimate punishment” is not only reserved for the president, but also for “everyone assisting in his agenda,” including Republican Reps. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan and White House strategist Steve Bannon. Fuller claims that “all must face justice” by being tried, convicted and ultimately executed for treason.

This tone comes from a man who self-describes as “critical” of “bullying and extremism.” Fuller uses the term “execution” twice and “ultimate punishment” twice more thereafter as a euphemism for execution, in a piece claiming that those he disagrees with committed “treason.”

THE BALL PARK INCIDENT:   Shots ring out as a man gorged on media hysteria attempts to slaughter Republican congressmen while they practice for a charity baseball game in Washington, D.C.

There have been so many attacks on Trump supports it’s difficult to find them all unless they made into the headlines.  Here are but a few examples of what should wake up every law abiding, patriotic American.

-A Texas elementary school student was beaten by his classmates for voting for Trump in a mock election.

-Two men punched and kicked a Connecticut man who was standing with an American flag and a Trump sign.

December 2016:

-A Trump supporter was beaten and dragged by a car.

January 2017:

-A Trump supporter was knocked unconscious after airport protesters repeatedly beat him on the head.

-A Trump supporter was attacked after putting out a fire started by anti-Trump protesters.

Stranger suffered a concussion. Protesters then surrounded the car they got into, rocking it back and forth and jumping on the hood.

April 2017:

-A parade in Portland, Ore.,was canceled after threats of violence were made against a Republican organization.

-Fears of violent protests shut down Ann Coulter’s UC Berkeley speech. Campus police had gathered intel on protesters who were planning to commit violence.

May 2017:

-Police in Tennessee charged a woman for allegedly trying to run Republican Rep. David Kustoff off the road.

-Police in North Dakota ejected a man after he became physical with Republican Rep. Kevin Cramer at a town hall.

-A former professor was arrested after police said they identified him on video beating Trump supporters with a U-shaped bike lock, leaving three people with “significant injuries.”

June 2017:

-James Hodgkinson opened fire on a congressional GOP baseball practice, injuring five, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

-Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney received an email threat that read, “One down, 216 to go,” shortly after the shooting at the Republican congressional baseball practice.

-A man driving a white Malibu reportedly fired several shots at a man driving a truck displaying a “Make America Great Again” flag in Indiana.

September 2017:

Billings, Montana.  A teacher kicks two students out of her classroom for wearing a “Make America Great Again” tee shirt.  A high school teacher at River Ridge High School in Georgia was filmed kicking two students out of class for wearing “Make America Great Again” shirts, which she compared to wearing a swastika.  “You Can’t Wear A Swastika To School”  This goes on more than you can imagine in our public schools.  This is so dangerous, because we’ve labeled a whole group of young people fair game for hate and violence, for no other reason than exercising their right to free speech.  Can you believe this is happening in America?

July 2018:

Judicial Watch filed an ethics complaint against Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) over her recent speech that encouraged the harassment of Trump administration officials in public.

In a hand-delivered letter to the chairman and co-chairman of the House Office of Congressional Ethics, Judicial Watch asked for an investigation into whether the California Democrat “violated House ethics rules by encouraging violence against Trump administration Cabinet members.”

  1. Tina says:

The list of reported appeals to aggression and actual violence you’ve accumulated is disturbing to say the least and much more extensive than I, as an American, would ever have imagined would happen in the US. I blame thirty or forty years of left wing propaganda and political correctness that creates imaginary villains to “hate.” I mean the level of emotional melt down over the election is just incredible when you consider how it has moved people to react in such extreme ways.

In addition to the violence in the streets is the group of “professional” government employees who have been willing to commit crimes and severe infractions of the rules to repress, harass, and defeat their political opponents. Even before Trump IRS employees acted to block participation by conservatives in an election.

A new line of attack on Kavanaugh comes from good old DiFi who received a letter from a high school classmate that claims some sort of mistreatment…shades of Anita Hill.

The radical dems will stoop to every possible low! Never seen such hate and desperation.

  2. Libby says:

And it would be very, very, very easy to compile a list of similarly bad behavior from your side of the street … but some of us have better things to do. I mean, Jack, this post positively reeks of paranoia and persecution: the fundamental tenets of the right wing … but you just gotta get a grip. Seriously, is this how you spend your life: collecting offences? nursing grievances?

Your distress is apparent, but I just don’t know how you could have thought that Trump’s “win” … was going to get you the White-opia that you long for. Forty percent of the electorate is, alas, and always will be, ONLY forty percent of the electorate. And, if the polls are accurate, you are losing that … quickly.

Then we have Trump himself … inarguably the chief instigator of all this mischief. If you were hoping the country was going to rally round that sad piece of work … well, I just don’t know how you ever could have. He has no principles, and lacks the ability to communicate them if he did. He has a very great fondness for himself, which is largely groundless. He’s a clod, an amoral clod.

    • Pie Gurvara says:

OK, let us see your extensive list, Lippy. You must have one, right? Oh wait, you are far too busy hurling trashy insults to be bothered with that. Typical vile leftist creep.

Funny how Lippy defends and tries to diminish the violence of her comrades by calling it “mischief.”

Yeah, just a bunch of pranks, eh Lippy? Don’t believe your lying eyes you fools, this is just paranoia and a persecution complex. You are such a horrid person Lippy, it is hard to believe. But then, this is the left for you. Thanks for proving the rule. Tell the victims of left-wing violence that they are just being paranoid and have mental disorder.

“Then we have Trump himself … inarguably the chief instigator of all this mischief.” Yes Lippy, blame Trump for your violent behavior. If Trump would just die, then the left would calm down and become peaceful, right?

    • Wilson says:

No, it wouldn’t be easy to compile a list of real attacks by conservatives to equal this partial list of leftist attacks. Because conservatives typically don’t do these things. Conservatives ipso facto tend to be law abiding, we support the rule of law, that’s kind of our thing. Leftists have always espoused the “end justifies the means” ethos to some degree, never more so than presently. This is reflected in polls such as the one which find a third of college students believe physical violence is justified to prevent someone expressing hate speech or racist speech. Never mind that it is illegal, and hateful to physically assault someone because they don’t agree with you, these students believe violence is justified to police the speech of others.
There were NO videos of conservatives assaulting people who voted for Obama, because we didn’t do that. But leftists have become so unhinged over the loss of the last election that even some leftist politicians have suggested Trump should be assassinated. There are hundreds of tweets from leftists making threats against the President at any one time. And the assaults, fire bombings, vandalism, and other incidents committed by leftists is increasing. Leftists in Antifa and other leftist organizations are openly calling for white genocide, online, in print, and in speech. They are calling for armed revolution.
No, you cannot compile a similar list from ‘our side of the street’. Not unless it is fabricated, like the Steele dossier. We are not doing those things.

      • Tina says:

Wilson, thank you for your thoughtful cogent response and welcome to Post Scripts. It’s always a pleasure to read another point of view. This was spot on.

I hope you’ll come back often.

  3. Cherokee Jack says:

Jack: You’re worrying too much. I think we can all just get along. I’m making a few simple life changes that should help to maintain civility among neighbors.
I’ll stop wearing my “deplorable” cap in public. I’ll do my all shopping and miscellaneous business in the morning, figuring that the more violent ones sleep late. I’ll always try to wear something with a Nike label clearly showing. I’m trading in my pickup for a hybrid, preferably from Sweden. It will have a “coexist” bumper sticker.

Most important, my sidearm will always be well-concealed, and I’ll lie to the pollsters before and after I vote.

On a more serious note, my son lives at the water’s edge inside the outer banks in North Carolina. He just texted me that his power is out, and a neighbor’s dock is floating by. He thinks he’s high enough to escape the flooding. Good time for a prayer.

    • Post Scripts says:

Cherokee Jack, sorry to hear your son is in the path of that hurricane. We’ll say a prayer for him.

If you have the time later on, please let us know how he is doing? Oh, and thanks for the comments, they were spot on.

      • Cherokee Jack says:

The storm passed him this morning, and the water is receding. He only got a big tree down in his driveway, so all is well. Thanks for your concern.

      • Cherokee Jack says:

He may not have been that lucky with his boat. He pulled his 32 ft catamaran out to protect it, in a boat yard in New Bern, the little town in the center of he flooding.

  4. Libby says:

And so, I went fishing … and the first thing I found out is why you all, Pie particularly, had your knickers in a twist over the doings of the Southern Poverty Law Center:

“Heidi Beirich, the director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), said that the ADL report is “reinforcing a broad trend: that right-wing extremism remains very deadly.”

She cited a 2015 SPLC report which stated that a right-wing terrorist attack had either been attempted or succeeded every 34 days between 2010 and 2015.”

    Whoa! 34 days!

And the Anti-Defamation League has a spiffy paragraph out there:

“The year 2016 was unusual in that right-wing extremists did not dominate the murder statistics, as they have each year for more than 30 years. Anti-government extremists and white supremacists were responsible for only a minority of extremist related deaths in 2016, though they did commit two triple homicides. These low figures also occurred during a year in which non-violent right-wing extremist activity was high, in large part due to agitation and propaganda by the so-called alt-right and other extremists in connection with the 2016 presidential election.”

Apparently, as the year 2016 motivated a spike in, shall we say, activism? … on the left (why was that, I wonder) … the ADL don’t want us to lose sight of the big picture.

But never mind all that. It’s the persecution and paranoia … that’s what you need to work on … cause Lord, is it groundless.

    • Pie Gurvara says:

The SPLC is an extreme left wing propaganda machine created for the express purpose of the character assassination of people who are not goose-stepping to your tune, so of course you endorse it, Lippy. Duh. Their equally important aim is to exaggerate what they call the “Terror from the Right” list, which would be a laughable if it were not so pernicious.

Why not educate yourself and find out some of the absurdly placed people who have appeared on that list? Well, duh on that too. Lippy, The Vancome Lady, insert fingers in ears and go “No, no, no, no…” loudly.

Facts matter. Stats matter. The SPLC is short on both and long on dishonesty, slander and fear-mongering.

But you go ahead and lick their boots, Lippy, meanwhile…

“No fewer than 60 organizations branded “hate groups” or otherwise attacked by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) are considering legal action against the left-wing smear factory, a Christian legal nonprofit leader confirmed to PJ Media on Tuesday. He suggested that the $3 million settlement and apology the SPLC gave to Maajid Nawaz and his Quilliam Foundation on Monday would encourage further legal action.”

      https://pjmedia.com/trending/about-60-organizations-are-considering-a-lawsuit-against-the-splc-following-3m-nawaz-settlement/

But you go ahead and defend these horrid people, Lippy, your endorsement speaks for itself. Oh, and feel free to attack the messenger linked to above. Be predictable.

    • Tina says:

“Apparently, as the year 2016 motivated a spike in, shall we say, activism? … on the left (why was that, I wonder) … the ADL don’t want us to lose sight of the big picture.”

The ADL has been, for the most part, concerned with persecution of Jews. They do good work. There’s a high probability that they are also more of the left persuasion than the right. Question…do they believe ANTIFA is a right wing (conservative) organization? Most likely. Yet it is Trump supporters that they target with their violence.

You on the left think you’re above it all. You associate violent activity with the right but it’s not generally true. It’s projected onto us because we believe in the second amendment, because we will defend what we believe in with war when necessary, because we believe in strong borders and lawful entry. We think differently and that MUST mean we are violent since you think of yourselves as keepers of peace. It’s all very ironic when you can see the big picture.

German Nazi’s were socialists. The old USSR Marxists (Marxists everywhere now) were socialists. In Europe these two brands of socialism hated each other…Marxists and the Nazi’s are referred to as left and right.

In America we have a different situation.

In America the fundamental transformers that have taken over the Democrat Party are socialists…we refer to them as the left. But conservatives are not the opposite…we are not communists. America was not founded on socialist principles. America was founded on freedom and within our alternate system of government and capitalist environment we thrived and grew strong as a nation and as a melting pot of people. We struggle but we win the struggle when we stick to our principles.

The Republican Party, referred to here as the right, works to keep that system. We are not socialists. We are not aligned with the European right…or Antifa…or white supremacists….or Nazi’s. It’s ridiculous to associate us with those things. We are the party fought for civil rights through the decades following the emancipation of the slaves. We continue to fight for equal justice and civil rights…rights, not grievances.

So, once again, the violence you attempt to assign to the Republican or conservative side in the US political battle (the right) is largely fabricated (or coerced). Conservative association with extremist groups is nil. You can’t point to examples. We are not “the right” of European socialists. We are called the right only to distinguish us from your party but we are something different…a party of the Constitution and the principles of freedom and equality…rights AND responsibilities…equal rights not special rights…equal rights not grievance rights…equal rights not equal outcomes.

The majority of the violence I’ve seen has been directed toward those of us who believe in America as founded with the one exception, the crazy man who drove the car into a crowd of protesters. Other than that, most of the noticeable incidences of violence have all been associated with left politics, left grievance pimps, left activism and left organizations. Does that mean I think conservatives are all perfect? No, but by nature we do not think in terms of taking to the streets and we’re damned tired of being characterized as such…or as people who hate. Liberty and equal justice are ideals we value at the deepest level; that makes us patriots. It is the thing that makes the flag so dear. It is the thing that makes us stand up for the rule of law, the concept of sovereignty, legal entry into our nation, strong borders. Liberty and justice…we do not take them for granted.

Activists don’t need a reason or excuse to take to the streets. They always do when they lose or are out of power. It comes naturally. They must be in control. They insist on socialist ideals, they want fundamental transformation, they would see the Constitution altered or torn up. And a good number of them prefer absolute power in the hands of their leaders…absolute control. They have said as much.

The big picture is very similar now to prewar Germany. Hitler wanted fundamental change too. A lot of Germans thought he was just wonderful…they never saw what was coming. A lot of very ignorant Americans don’t see what follows when extremists take power. Your party is chock full of extremist thinkers. Better to be vigilant than watch as transformers destroy the foundations of our nations…destroy our heritage. There are a lot of people who would prefer we give up in the name of peace…but a lot of them are waking up as well, because we will not give up or shut up.

  5. Post Scripts says:

One of my liberal friends told me I have done a disservice by writing this article because it is misleading. So, I had to ask, ok, why is that? He thoughtfully explained, because all these things I mentioned (even though true) are still only a tiny fraction of our population. As bad as it sounds we only have this very tiny minority that are involved wreaking fear and havoc.

His thought was, look at the big picture and we’re doing just fine. But, I come along and make it look like the sky is falling. I’m the bad guy, because I am creating a false impression that all liberals and/or all democrats are evil and dangerous.

My friends cites the overwhelming number of people who don’t cause trouble. He says most elected officials are honest, patriotic and intelligent and they just want to serve the people. In other words, I should focus on the good because it is so overwhelming compared to the bad. We would be better served to ignore the bad, because it such a small percentage of our world.

My rebuttal was, I am addressing that tiny minority and not all of any group or category. However, these acts of violence and intolerance should never be ignored because they are too important, they are like the canary in the coal mine. And we better pay attention.

For example, I know a billion Muslims did not attack us 9/11/2001. But, twenty radicalized Muslims did and 3,000 innocent people died and look at the chain of events that started! I know a few illegal border crossings here and there might not matter much, but over time that number has gown. So what about 35,000,000 illegal aliens living here and impacting our safety nets, our culture and public safety? A few homeless migrating to California does not matter, but if 25% of U.S. homeless population moves here does that matter and all of these things started as a small problem that evolved over time.

You see where I am going with this? J. Edgar Hoover said whenever 10% of the people decide to violate a law it becomes unenforceable, even though 90% obey the law.

So, no I am not going to put on a happy face every time a Trump supporter is attacked or a pack of Antifa terrorists shuts down a speaker. However, I am not here to create monsters and sell fear to make points come election time. That’s what the democrats do. Me…I have no hidden agenda, I’m doing this editorializing because I want to raise public awareness to a problem. That’s my only agenda! I look at these problems like a cancer and the earlier we catch it the better the prognosis. However, if politically incorrect people like me can be threatened and mocked into silenced, then who else will be, you?

  6. Libby says:

“He thoughtfully explained, because all these things I mentioned (even though true) are still only a tiny fraction of our population.”

Not only that, but you are talking mostly threatening phone calls, some pushing and shoving … which does not quite pass muster for “violence”.

Democracy is messy, and your post supports my opinion that “the right” can’t cope with messy.

“You see where I am going with this?” All too clearly. J. Edgar, American Fascist. You would look to him for support. Jack, ten percent, we can handle.

    • Tina says:

“you are talking mostly threatening phone calls, some pushing and shoving”

      Symptoms of much bigger problems.

Leaders that condone, even pay for, the protesters and encourage the violence, the agitation, the legal challenges, the “revolutionary” militancy to create chaos is a symptom of a much bigger problem. We were given our form of government with it’s checks and balances and power vested in the people in part to avoid such insanity and incivility.

Your party could use the legislative process and just accept the result whatever it is, but you don’t. If you lose you turn to the (liberal, till now) courts to force your will on the people against their expressed will (through the ballot box). Force! Guess what, Libby, that’s tyrannical. It’s the kind of thing a fascist or communist would do. The thing you say you despise.

That 10% is indicative of the party’s intolerance and platform so it is not just 10%…it’s 90% of your base letting the 10% do the dirty work to influence others. It used to work when there was no alternative media. Not sure it works anymore…people see what you say (peace, tolerance, love) and what you do just don’t square.

Ever notice how dismissive you are? You should.

      • Wilson says:

Libby is dismissive alright. Notice how she put the fascist label on J Edgar Hoover, and avoided dealing with the substance of the issue. She called him a fascist, and in her mind that settled the matter. He was disqualified, because she wrongly labeled him.

Leftists use charged language to signify that their targeted conservative ought to be persona non grata, without needing to prove the case.
It is allegorical to the Rules for Radicals advice to ridicule your opponent when the facts don’t support you.
In this case Libby wasn’t able to refute either the facts or the logic Jack presented when quoting Hoover, so Libby smugly called Hoover a fascist, and claimed victory.
Then she chided Jack for quoting him.

Leftists use the terms fascist, racist, and the various -phobe terms in the same way. If the facts are against them, they abuse or ridicule their opponent.

Remember when Obama began spending $trillions and refused to submit a budget to Congress his first couple of years? When critics said that level of spending was unsustainable, do you recall the response? The media repeated the claim that those criticizing his spending were simply racists, and that was the reason for their criticisms.

I imagine leftists think themselves very clever, and think conservatives very stupid. We continue to speak to them in good faith, as though they care what the facts are, and they continue to ridicule and slanderously label us as racist, fascist, homophone, transphobe, etc. and declare themselves our moral superiors. They laugh at us as we earnestly defend ourselves against the false charges. They changed the narrative and put us on the defensive again. They avoided engaging in a losing debate on the facts by this tired old tactic.

  7. Tina says:

Jack my answer to your friend would be that his focus is much too narrow.

We have been alerting those who read our blog to a very significant shift in the politics of the Democrat party.

In the early 1960’s a very popular John F Kennedy proposed tax cuts to spur the economy. His slogan was, “getting America moving again. Like Bill Clinton who came after him, JFK bucked the social spenders in his party to lower tax rates and jump start the economy. The people then, as now, agreed with the president. His plan worked. There isn’t a Democrat today that would support, much less propose a tax cut. And that’s just one issue. On issue after issue the Dems have moved radically left. They don’t even support or respect the rule of law.

The Democrat party today has been taken completely over by socialists who live and breathe social justice rather than equal justice under the law. When laws get in the way of their social justice demands they change them…through the courts, not the legislature. When a word becomes inconvenient, it is redefined. A racist now is someone who happens to have a different opinion about immigration law. In our universities the focus of education is minority studies, environmental studies…courses that add a lot of expense but offer little in terms of preparing young people to become responsible contributing citizens.

Your friend has likely been living his life, nothing wrong with that. But he’s failed to notice the long road that brought us to this moment. The movement to fundamentally transform America began long ago. We in the Republican Party have been a barrier to the changes the socialist want. As their demands got more extreme our voices, naturally, became more passionate. Socialist don’t tolerate opposing voices. They will go to any extreme to silence and oppress their opponents. Free speech? They don;t really believe in it and so we have angry protests. That is the basis of the contentious problems today.

The problems we address at PS are much broader than a little pushing and shoving, even when that “protest” devolves into violence and murder. The problems we address include corruption within our government and society that if left to run a natural course will destroy our nation and it’s miraculous Constitution. We are about defending the most treasured aspects of our national heritage and way of life…freedom, equality, the rule of law, and living as neighbors with respect, if not friendship.

Democrat activists run the show for the Democrat Party and they have thrown all levels of civility, adherence to the law, and a sense of fair play out the window.

I won’t apologize either, Jack, nor will I be silenced…that’s what the activists want. And that’s what the people who haven’t been paying attention hope will happen, so they can be more comfortable.

Nevada Professor Shoots Himself On Campus To Protest President Trump

The latest school shooting to occur didn’t happen on some high school campus in the suburbs by an angry teen brandishing an AR, but was carried out by a crazed Trump-hating sociology professor who says he wanted to make a shocking political statement.

Contrary to what it may at first appear, this story is not from The Onion, but a bizarre and all too real event which sent students scrambling as they heard a shot ring out in the bathroom of a campus building. And we’re quite sure the students who actually rushed to the wounded professor’s aid to save his life once they realized what had happened aren’t fully appreciative of his “political message”.

Libby, you hate Trump. Don’t you have some protesting to do and a political statement to make???

BLM in LA County are pushing for the elimination of prisons and more. They collected the required # of signatures to put a proposal on the ballot in 2020:

The multi-pronged ballot measure targets the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), which operates seven custody facilities and provides policing services to 42 contract cities. Titled the Reform Jails and Community Reinvestment Initiative, the proposal seeks to stop the county from spending billions of dollars on two new LASD correctional centers and create alternatives to incarceration. If passed by voters, the referendum would also give a civilian oversight panel subpoena authority over LASD to investigate matters such as sheriff misconduct.

“We want them to have the power to compel deputy testimony, to compel evidence, to compel witness testimony,” said Reform L.A. Jails Campaign Director Jasmyne Cannick. “In order to make that happen in L.A. County, you have to change the charter.” …

… The Reform L.A. Jails coalition includes the ACLU, Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles, and White People 4 Black Lives.

“L.A. should be super-proud of themselves,” Cannick said. “There are communities in California and across the country who are trying to move legislation like this. We were able to get it qualified, which is a big deal.”

Cullors, a police and prison abolitionist, has been organizing residents and community-based groups to reform LASD for at least six years. She has often been candid about her desire to “dismantle” law enforcement agencies and was instrumental in the establishment of LASD’s civilian oversight panel in 2016. Her Reform L.A. Jails measure would give that advisory board more independence and clout.

Angela Davis has joined with the BLM activists:

More than 45 years later, Davis still has the allegiance of black revolutionaries, who have latched on to her concept of abolition she revived not long ago. In 1997, Davis co-founded Critical Resistance, an organization created to challenge “the idea that imprisonment and policing are a solution for social, political, and economic problems.”

“We were thinking about trying to change vocabularies, and the term that we introduced at that time was the ‘prison industrial complex,’” Davis recalled. “That gives us the opportunity to talk about racism. That allows us to talk about the economy and the role that capitalist corporations play, particularly in the context of global capitalism – which is really responsible for the proliferation of prisons all over the world. Because you need a place for people that are rendered ‘surplus’ by the kinds of economies that are created by capitalist corporations.”

The phrase Davis helped coin is now part of the Black Lives Matter lexicon. Its website calls for “the complete dismantling of the prison industrial complex,” and states:

Many of the movement’s organizers identify as abolitionists, which in the 21st-century context refers to people who want to abolish prisons and end the problem of mass incarceration of black and Latino people.”

The activists at the forum agreed that the pursuit of abolition must be conjoined with an effort to tear down and replace what’s left of America’s capitalist structure.

“Anti-capitalism without abolition doesn’t work,” said Janaya Khan, co-founder of Black Lives Matter-Canada.

“Abolition isn’t just about destroying something,” said Cullors. “It’s about the building up of something.”

“We will have to overthrow the economic system under which we live,” said Davis. “We will have to look beyond capitalism. We need something else – whether we want to call it socialism or communism or whatever, we need something else.”

The event concluded with Davis joining hands with members of Black Lives Matter-Los Angeles, as Cullors paid tribute to former Black Liberation Army leader Assata Shakur. Also affiliated with the Black Panthers, Shakur was convicted of murder for her involvement in a 1973 shootout that left a New Jersey State Trooper dead. She is currently living in exile in Cuba after escaping from prison in 1979.

Yep, just a few people pushing and shoving…nothing to look at here…move along.

Libby, thank you for your concern, but I’m really personally worried or upset, I’m more sad for our country. At the moment I am a bit depressed seeing so much hostility coming from the rabid left as they try to silence free speech.

Yes, democracy is messy, I agree and a little pushing and shoving is to be expected from these partisan troglodytes that inhabit both parties. But Libby, this really is going above and beyond mere pushing and shoving. We’re talking guns, knives, clubs, threats to kill the president, extortion, etc., not pushing. And its not infrequent.

As to the Southern Poverty Law Center claims, geez has anybody else reported this? Any police or FBI reports any headlines anywhere? Cause this is something I’ve never heard of before. This wouldn’t be the first time they exaggerate claims to fool people. But, for the sake of argument, I know there have been a few random right wing nut-jobs that have done a little pushing shoving, oh and possibly one of them used his vehicle to hit people, he wasn’t part of any orchestrated attack, just a nut acting on his own.

    • Harold says:

While I was reading the original post, my first inclination was, one gun is a major problem in the liberal world of today, but many examples (Jacks List) of violent acts of protest and destruction is only a minor issue , if an issue at all.

Then Jack’s liberal friends argument of “He thoughtfully explained, because all these things I mentioned (even though true) are still only a tiny fraction of our population.”

I thought that a even less fraction of the population, applies to mental people and gun misuse.

SO why is any destructive activity less of a threat and more accepting than another when it involves any fraction of the same population who can’t control themselves ? If a fraction of a liberal party’s actions should be considered minor if at all, and not indicative of the liberal agenda why can’t that same theory be applied to guns.

Facts will show responsible gun owners are not, nor have they ever been a problem, in fact responsible gun owners have prevented many crimes from proceeding. And facts as listed by Jack will show the fraction of Neanderthal liberals that cause destruction are a growing number. But in a liberal world that is not a concern it seems.

Neither does any issue involving liberals getting their way, including use of destructive actions (political theater), seem to cause a liberal concern They just seem to justify it with words like “resist” because what their upset about needs a stronger more violent and progressive method of putting forth a message. Verse the NRA’s promoting the right to peaceful and lawful own of any type of “non military operational” rifle or handgun, in a peaceful message and manor.

Is it because the Liberal ideolog now feels it is a acceptable privilege to create unrest, through destruction and civil disobedience, because of late they have demonstrated they willing to go to extreme social unrest to get their way.

  11. Pie Guevara says:

The whole “this is a fraction of the left” argument is idiotic and fallacious. There are at least thousands of leftists who are inspired to violence in any large city ort metropolitan area. Tens of thousands when they gather together for a protest. How many times have we seen the riots and the destruction they reap? From global economic summits to BLM bull****. From “Occupy Any Damn Thing” to Antifa trashing UC Berkeley to Democrat Congress people ENCOURAGING AND ENDORSING intimidation. Intimidation in itself is a violent act because it threatens violence.

This “fraction” of violent leftists represents a significant number of people who are perfectly willing to destroy property and cause great bodily harm if not to destroy lives. They have been quite effective at large scale violence, as Lippy well knows. As any American who is not living in a cave knows.

It doesn’t take many left-wing “activists” to get the ball rolling and then have an entire city fall into bloody chaos with looters and other assorted criminals happily joining in.

Jack knows this and so does Lippy. The difference is Lippy endorses such violence by making excuses for it by minimizing it while at the same time mocking and attempting to marginalize those who warn against it like Jack does. According to Lippy, Jack has a mental problem with paranoia and persecution. The difference between these two people could not be any more plain and clear than by comparing their comments in this thread.

The left tacitly endorses this behavior, PERIOD. Lippy in this thread is a perfect example of leftist group-think when it comes to their own destructive and violent acts. It is Lippy who needs to have her head examined — preferably with a blunt instrument wielded by one of her violent protester pals — not Jack who quite rightly raises the issue. Maybe then she would take this breakdown of civil society by her fellow brown-shirted, fascist-left thugs seriously. But don’t count on it.

Of course, if Lippy cares to, she can write about the “widespread” (not) violence of the right. No doubt she would be all over that like a fly on ****.
