A Traitor Get’s Caught

Posted by Jack

He’s an American traitor.  He’s also another Muslim that wanted to join up with terrorists just so he could kill his fellow Americans.

After his arrest he uses a racist-hate word to describe all non-believers, “kurfars.”  Among Muslims this world is more reprehensible than the N word.  It means the people who don’t believe in Islam have no soul and are like the walking dead.  To eliminate one of these walking dead (like you and me) is no big deal.  Its even an offense to many hundreds of thousands true believers who will gladly point out in the Koran where it says its okay.

Nice, huh?

“Delowar Mohammed Hossain, 33, is charged with attempting to provide material support for acts of terrorism, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said in a statement.

A criminal complaint alleges that he is a supporter of the Taliban, and that in recorded conversations with a confidential informant, Hossain said he wanted to join the insurgent group and fight American forces.

The complaint says that Hossain had been discussing his plans since September.

In a conversation in April, Hossain allegedly said, “I want to fight” and “I want to kill some kufars before I die,” using a term that authorities said refers to non-Muslims.”

What are we going to do with religious fanatics who reject their American citizenship and think  terrorism is the best thing they do with their life?   Geez, I get sick of hearing about radical- Muslims trying to join up with terrorists or act as lone-wolf terrorists because they get indoctrinated by virtue of being a Muslim.   Can you believe anyone could be so stupid and blinded by hate to think their religion makes them superior and righteous, that killing innocent people (kufars) is okay?

18 Years of War in Afghanistan

After losing more than 2,400 soldiers and spending more than $900 billion in Afghanistan since 2001, critics say the U.S. risks losing hard-won gains. President Donald Trump on Monday called the nearly 18-year campaign “ridiculous” and said he could win the conflict in a week but “I don’t want to kill 10 million people.”

I agree.  18 years of a micro managed, limited, political war is absurd…it’s beyond absurd and it makes me both mad and disgusted.

Right now, the best we can do is just get heck out, cut our losses and go.   Let the Afghans do what they will to each other.  If the people of Afghanistan wind up being  butchered and terrorized, they should have resisted when they had the chance. And they had 18 years of chances, but they blew it.  We owe them nothing!

Getting us into Afghanistan to do nation building was on a level senseless that has no equal in our nation’s history.  I’m so sorry that we allowed George W. Bush to do that, especially when so many of us saw it coming.  Well, what’s done is done….and what a terrible and wasteful experience it has been.

Too bad we can’t make Bush wear one of those cone shaped dunce hats whenever he goes out in public..oh, and make the Secret Service agents assigned to him wear tee shirts that say, “I’m with stupid.”   Sorry, I shouldn’t make jokes, because this is not funny.  Bush will never have to face the consequences of what he set in motion, nor will those that followed him and kept it going.   Trump got this one 100% right.

A glimpse Back Today vs the 50’s – 60’s – What a Change

by Jack

Highway deaths averaged about 22 per 100,000 from roughly 1946 to 1981, then it started declining. Today it is about half that number. The reason for the decline? Cars are better engineered.  Most vehicles are in a utility class, they are built more for comfort or economy than speed.  They have airbags and crush zones all designed to keep you alive.

Just because fatals are down, I don’t think teenagers and young adults are better drivers today, in fact, in some ways they are worse.  They lack our experience of learning young and doing crazy stuff.

Car’s aren’t a big deal anymore.  You don’t have kids out on the strip on a Friday and Saturday night like the 60’s.  Hollywood will occasionally glamorize hot rodding, but it’s almost a nostalgic thing.   Today’s younger generation don’t want do invest their time and money in fixing up an old car like previous generations.  Overall, I suppose that’s a good thing.  I went through a lot of money in my hotrod days and it really didn’t get me anywhere, just a lot of tickets.

The really dangerous years were from 1956 through the 1970’s and those were my years.   Cars were very fast and teens could make them even faster on a modest budget.  Add to that a lot of keg parties, street racing and it was some wild times.

Very few of us from those good ol rock n roll years have not been in a vehicle accident or known someone killed in a wreck. Not surprisingly, these bygone years coincided with the age of Detroit muscle cars, drag racing, a lot of drinking and fast driving.

In my day, teens were really into cars as a status symbol and of course as a date magnet. Today, eh, pfffft. Nobody really cares that much about a car, even if you are in high school.  If a car gets you to school and back…eh, close enough!

Where it’s at now is computers, PC games, virtual reality, drones, phones and tablets, now this a whole other story, a high tech story with a lot of very, very rich bright young kids that would have been called a nerd in the 50’s and 60’s.

Looking back at those hot rod years, it’s safe to say kids today have definitely lost something.  They wouldn’t know a spark plug from a dipstick.  But, this generation has gained something and it likely a lot  more important to our collective future.  High tech is changing lives and saving lives.   So, I think we’ve come out ahead on this one. Kids are far safer and what they are into today can also lead them into a good paying career tomorrow.

People Moving From California – We Don’t Want you!

by Jack

This morning I’m listening to the news on 650 am, KSTE and the newscaster said a new immigration study indicated 660K Californians have left for other states since 2018.  This represents the largest exodus in the State’s history. I wonder why?  Let’s take quick look.

(MS 13 prepares to welcome new members, they love LA.)

Sorry, I didn’t catch the net change in CA population, but I found indicators on other news sites and they all tell the same grim story.   We’re losing too many good people!

News flash – Californians are fed up with the high cost of living, over regulation and high taxes.  To make it worse, they aren’t seeing anything in return.  The majority of CA citizens don’t want sanctuary cities, illegal immigration, dangerous gun regulations and they certainly don’t like CA high cost of gasoline.  But, Sacramento keeps squandering CA’s wealth.  Then they are forced to hike taxes to balance the budget.  Every year the process repeats itself and that’s why those who able are turning a historic exodus into a stampede.

Responsible, intelligent voters have found they can no longer  sway the vote in Sacramento, mostly because of the change in demographics and with that, the drift into leftist radicalism.  So the middle class folks and above are voting with their feet.  They’re leaving, but so are a lot of liberals who realize CA is on a disaster course.  They’ve done their damage here and now they want out too!

(Homeless bums are everywhere and they sure didn’t come here to find work!  CA is the bum capitol of the USA now)

Naturally, given our high crime, bad schools, bums, ANTIFA, crazy laws, high taxes, etc., the other states are not always happy to see Californians show up.  Seems we have a bad reputation as (liberal) trouble makers.  The better run states fear that too many of the [liberal] Californians moving in could pollute their state just like they did to CA.  I can’t blame them either, liberalism aka socialism, is a deadly cancer – nobody wants to invite cancer into their home, right?

Chief Executive magazine underscores the exodus crisis,  “California is facing a bigger issue than its tussle with the Federal government over sanctuary cities. According to a November report from the U.S Census Bureau, the Golden State has had 142,932 more residents exit to live in other states than people arriving from other states. This domestic outmigration was the second largest outflow in the U.S. behind New York and New Jersey. It was up 11 percent (13,699 net departures) compared to 2015.

(Ca has all the ingredients to unleash a plague, trash, filth and rats overrun many parts of LA)

The state’s net outmigration has been continuing for over two decades, yet the state’s population continues to grow owing to foreign immigration.”

OC Register – “High housing prices hurt most young, middle-class and aspiring, often minority, working-class families. California’s prices are particularly bloated, over 161 percent higher, in comparison with national averages, in the lower-end “starter home” category. In Los Angeles and the Bay Area, a monthly mortgage takes, on average, close to 40 percent of income, compared to 15 percent nationally.”

“People have long dreamed of moving to California, but increasingly the people in the state are looking to get out.

(Bidwell Park rangers hauled off tons of trash last year – this year its back.  Hundreds of shopping carts disappear every year. )

According to recently released data from the US Census, about 38,000 more people left California than entered it in 2018. This is the second straight year that migration to the state was negative, and it’s a trend that is speeding up. Every year since 2014, net migration has fallen.”

SF Outlook – “Austin, Texas, lives in the minds of many Bay Area residents as an emerging metropolitan paradise. With its growing tech industry and lively arts scene, Austin seems to offer all the trappings of big city living without the hefty price tag.

But, of course, locals from the Lone Star State are not too happy with Austin’s status as the next trendy place to live, especially not the city’s soccer team, apparently.

On Thursday, a snarky scuffle unfolded on Twitter between Austin FC and the San Jose Earthquakes. In a tweet, Austin FC posted a screenshot of the Quakes following the account and wrote, “Welcome to Austin, please don’t move here.”

Yuk yuk yuk, hey you almost slipped on that pile of poop there..yuk, yuk, aren’t you having fun? I am!  Let me see your wallet for a sec okay?  Got any blanks checks on ya?  How about a credit card, and what’s your limit?   Yuk, yuk, I love being your boss, CA is the funnest place ever.

Jack Lee Art – Pair of B25 Mitchell Bombers

Acrylic on canvas, 99% finished, 18 X22.  Why did I put it up before its finished?  Just want to stare at it for awhile and figure out things I missed.  Maybe you could help?  There’s an awful lot of details on these planes.  By the way, the hole on the side is actually an open hatch for a waist gunner.  There’s a top turret gunner and a nose gunner too.  Powered by a two radial engines the Mitchell was a high quality, medium range bomber and at times it almost fit the role of a fighter, strafing ships and convoys.   You can see the real thing at the Chico Air Museum in August.

In the painting its about 3 shades darker, not sure why this pic came out so bright.

Rare Opportunity – B17 and B25 Rides

There will be flight tickets sold too.  I will update this post with how to purchase tickets for a ride.  Only a limited number will be sold, so you should book early.    The last time we were offering rides in a P-51 Mustang it sold out in 2 days.  This time it’s two of the worlds most rare bombers from World War II.  The B25’s claim to fame, it was once flown off a carrier and was the first to bomb Japan early in WWII.  The B-17 aka Flying Fortress flew throughout the war, mostly by the 8th AAF based in England.

Update:

Healthcare in California

by Jack

Can we just have an open, frank, bi-partisan conversation on healthcare?  Please…let’s look at the facts, absent the emotional outbursts and slogan-isms and think it through so we can vote smart.

We must accept the following truth or this conversation is dead before it starts:

  1. The USA does not have infinite money to spend and it’s not possible to keep borrowing to sustain over spending.  As the song says, “You can’t always get what you want.” Rolling Stones 1969.

  2.  CA is not allowed to spend on a credit card, it must balance the budget every year and like the feds, we don’t have unlimited money either.  We have to figure out our priorities and spend accordingly, because “You can’t always………”

At the present time Governor Gavin Newsom, as well as many California Democratic lawmakers, support a single-payer plan as presented in 2017’s SB-562; but it failed in 2017.  However, the idea is not dead, its going to be proposed again this year.

What this bill would have done is eliminated private insurance and consolidated all existing health plans, including the state’s Medi-Cal plan, into a new state-run network.

Under this plan, there would be no medical co-pays and no deductibles. Californians would then either be in the state-run program or need to pay purely out of pocket for medical care. Private insurance would be illegal. Now what’s wrong with this?  Let’s take a quick look.

FACT:  Medicare is able to survive only because their rate of reimbursement for services is far below healthcare average cost and private insurance makes up the difference.  Medi-Cal would be no different. By dropping the reimbursement rate for all medical costs you drop wages!  In effect government would now control wages in the healthcare industry and those wages are headed for a decline.   When State B pays 30-40% more to their healthcare workers than State A, guess where most of the workers are going to go?  This is simple economics.

FACT:  Medi-Cal cost control will be applied to ALL services rendered.  This means an accountant has as much or more to say over your healthcare than your doctor.  It can be no other way.   Current estimates for a single payer in healthcare system in CA would be between $330 and $400 billion per year or about $10,000 per year per person. This cost would double the state’s current budget and even then we’ve probably underestimated.

HIGHLY LIKELY:  Future medical costs would rise sharply because persons with expensive medical conditions would be drawn to CA, much like our homeless are drawn here.

Lee Ohanian, healthcare reform advocate, writes, “US healthcare must confront the problem that the consumers of healthcare do not have sufficient incentives to control costs. A California single-payer plan doubles down on this issue because it would eliminate virtually all incentives for consumers to control costs. No co-pays and no deductibles mean increased demand for virtually all healthcare, and extraordinary rationing of healthcare.”

The often touted slogan, “You can’t be denied” is false. Procedures that are deemed by those running the state’s health board to be “too expensive” will indeed be denied or severely rationed. And you may need to wait in line a long time before receiving healthcare. To prove this you need only look at healthcare in Canada or the UK.

FACT:  “Only 84 percent of patients in British hospital emergency rooms are seen within four hours following admission.

The country’s goal is to see 95 percent of patients within four hours, which is a goal that has not been achieved since 2015. It is now so obvious that the goal cannot be realistically met that the United Kingdom is considering to eliminate the goal.”

These are not wild speculations, these are documented, provable facts.  There’s more coming, so stay tuned!
