Sierra Nevada Brewery Hosts 13th Annual Trivia Bee for Literacy

I am part of everything that I have read.”  Theodore Roosevelt

Hold the date trivia nerds.  Box up the Scrabble game and come out for a good time.  It’s a big night for big brains and bigger laughs.

What is the name of the dog on RCA’s old logo?

Name the mutt on October 25.

Which state is the first state and the diamond state?

State your answer October 25, in a Big room.

What type of animal is the sire, or father, of a mule?

It’s asinine to say.  The answer is Top Secret.

Join me and fellow fun-hogs for an evening at the Sierra Nevada Brewery Big Room where we celebrate the 13th Annual Trivia Bee for Literacy on Friday night October 25, 2019.  This is my fifth year co-hosting the Bee and our fifth year in the Big Room.  The Trivia Bee has become a big deal.

The purpose of the Trivia Bee is to support Butte County Library Literacy Services.  We also celebrate the Adult Learners and volunteers.  Funds raised also support operations of Butte County’s Literacy Coach, child programs, and other literacy programming.

Come out and support the Bee.  Show us how smart you think you are.  My role is easy—I read questions for answers I don’t know and usually screw ’em up—then watch the teams compete. We expect a sell-out.   Here’s a question that will never appear at the Trivia Bee because movie trivia questions are not asked.  But since I’m a movie buff, here goes:

Which one of these movies is NOT a chick-flick?

  1. The Guns of Navarone
  2. Love Actually
  3. When Harry Met Sally
  4. Dead Pool

Answer:  It’s a toss-up between “1” and “3”, those are guy-flicks.

Doors open at 6:00 PM.  Competition starts at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $30.  To set up a team or inquire about tickets call 530-538-7198. Bee there or Bee square.

Thank you Butte County Library Services and thank you volunteer coaches and adult learners.  We appreciate you.  And to Sierra Nevada Brewery, a zillion thanks for your support all these years.
